Children playing team sports learn life skills. Do you agree or disagree?

Children playing team sports learn life skills. Do you agree or disagree?

As per a common perception, team sports train juveniles to embrace life skills like discipline, team work, and so forth, while others feel the opposite. However, the former view is more convincing, and I shall delve deeper into the following paragraphs.

To commence with, some behaviourists believe that indulging in team sports encourages children to foster acumen to function in a team, coordinate, team discipline and obedience by engaging in team sports. This can be extremely helpful in future since most of the professional realms heavily rely on collaboration,  rather  than individualistic approach. For instance, James Bradlock, member of UNICEF cites his example about grasping collaborative qualities through football that helped him adapt to modern working conditions, and to operate in sync with others and chase goals jointly, completing relief projects without impediments.

Moreover, a sense of empathy is also developed through this activity as tender minds learn to support each other and push them to enhance their performance. As Dr. Kanak Ambani,  an eminent human behaviorist,  team sports fosters empathetic nature towards their counterparts, thereby preparing them to use  these acumen to assist their colleagues and fellow workers, while chasing group goals.

Additionally, leadership quality is another essential skill inculcated by young minds as they learn to take initiatives in challenging circumstances and  lead from the front,  a skill that assists them to manage departments and  undertakings. As claimed by Siya Kumar, CEO of J.S pharmaceutical company, due to her indulgence in team sports from a younger age, she is bold, and has the capability to run a business.

Overall, indulging in sporting disciplines that entail team participation helps youngsters attain qualities such as empathy, discipline and coordination, among others. This can help them settle more successfully in life as adults.

Publishing detailed information about crimes in newspapers or on television can have dangerous consequences and should therefore be restricted. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Publishing detailed information about crimes in newspapers or on television can have dangerous consequences and should therefore be restricted. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The great public discourse of contemporary times is aligned with a view whether reporting about antisocial endeavors that has detrimental effects on society, should be controlled, or not. I partially agree with the proposal and shall discuss in the following paragraphs.

To start with, a lobby strongly asserts that showcasing savagery via media can cause fear among individuals, especially youngsters. This is to say, when children witness blood, gore, and so on, they become frightened and fear that they might meet the same end; as a result, they avoid interacting with the outer world, turning timid, feeling threatened, and eventually, lead a life in desolation . To corroborate, a recent study conducted by a group of child behaviorists revealed that juveniles watching programs about unlawful undertakings during their childhood on television, grow up as adults who circumvent communicating with others, and some also feel unsafe within the confines of their own homes when they are alone.

Having said that, such broadcasts should not be curtailed since there could be evidence that might catch the attention of the viewers, or readers, and aid in resolving crimes. In other words, the television could show images of the perpetrators, who could be on the run, or at large, could be identified, and reported to the police. For example, in Japan, during the morning news, details of incidence of law breaking and culprits are transmitted over the television and social media, which aids in early identification of the criminals.

In conclusion, considering the aforementioned views,  I believe although it is virtuous to draw a line about what should be presented, a complete embargo should not be imposed: these help in  mitigating and preventing incidents of deviant nature

In many education systems, subjects such as maths and science are seen as more important than arts subjects such as drama and literature. What are the reasons for this? Is this a positive or a negative development?

In many education systems, subjects such as maths and science are seen as more important than arts subjects such as drama and literature. What are the reasons for this? Is this a positive or a negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

The contemporary formal tuition prioritizes STEM subjects over literature and drama. This notion seems to stem from many factors, which will be discussed in the following paragraphs, and share whether this is a favorable or unfavorable evolution.

A lobby asserts that science is the need of the hour, as the world needs immediate solutions to perilous ailments jeopardising  life expectancy dramatically. Rendering science can bolster research in the most advanced medical methods to overcome this woe. Similarly, space explorations make maths imperative for the successful launching of space shuttles: it requires precise calculations and formulae. For example, a recent survey revealed that the National Space Institute looks for highly skilled candidates in maths since they rely on such traits for accomplishing their space missions.

However, this is a detrimental trend, as per several educationalists,  as science and maths fail to excite everyone, many are likely to feel demotivated and disenchanted from studies. Moreover, if everyone takes up science and maths, there will be a dearth of professionals like teachers, and so on. To corroborate, Japan has witnessed a significant drop in the numbers of educators since many schools are focused on science. As a result, there are less teachers to teach in the classrooms. Moreover, this is likely to impact the creation of innovation, for it is only the arts that can augment resourceful and afford a broader perspective to the young generation, which eventually uses it to ponder profoundly and discover solutions to challenges facing them

In conclusion, although demand for medical solutions and skilled mathematicians are the primary reasons for giving precedence to STEM, this presents a bleak future as disengagement from education and lack of resourcefulness is an imminent impact, turning it into a phenomenon laden with pitfalls.

Some people prefer to do the same type of work all their lives, while others enjoy changing the work they do. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people prefer to do the same type of work all their lives, while others enjoy changing the work they do. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There has been an eternal debate about altering routines, or not: while some prefer to integrate modifications, others dread this. This essay will discuss both sides and share a plausible opinion.

To start with, a lobby asserts that indulging into a similar routine of work alleviates mistakes. This is to say, when one follows a similar pattern day in, day out, they tend to make fewer errors, and hence, make themselves confident.  Such habitual working encourages one to hone their specific skillset, fetching them adroitness in whatever they do, and turning them into seasoned individuals, whereas embracing changes  might expose them to failure and  incessant struggles. This pattern is generally witnessed among the aging workforce, for a majority feels that continuing with something they have been practising over the years can earn them finesse, turning them into specialists, instead of pushing them to slog to grab new skills and face setbacks.

Having said that, many feel that doing different work every day brings thrill and excitement that goes missing while pursuing mundane tasks in offices. Moreover, doing something differently is also considered to be a key factor in earning  success in the dynamic world, bringing them closer to betterment and helping them chart a course to desired attainments. One can ascend the ladder of growth by trying out jobs that fit their lifestyle, ambitions and career prospects. For example, in Japan, many keep on looking to change their professions to find where they would like to stand in life.

In conclusion, considering the aforementioned views, in my opinion, even  though both perspectives hold substance, while the older individuals prioritizing sticking to old routines, and  younger seek enhancements,  the latter view is more feasible for those seeking achievements.

Parents should be held legally responsible for their children’s acts. What is your opinion? Support it with examples from your experience.

Parents should be held legally responsible for their children’s acts. What is your opinion? Support it with examples from your experience.

The debate about whether people should face penalties for the unsocial conduct of their wards, is quite heated. I believe this approach is unfair and unrealistic. Although families are central in shaping the character of youngsters, they cannot be expected to exercise control over their conduct, for the latter must bear the consequences of their own actions.

As young people mature, their behaviour is influenced by numerous external forces, including friends, social media, and the school environment. Even at homes despite being rendered a strong guidance and support, young ones can still make harmful or illegal choices. For instance, if they choose to cheat, lie, or engage in scuffles, it reflects more on their own judgment than on their upbringing. Thus, it is not right to hold fathers and mothers liable for actions they did not directly cause.

Moreover,  putting legal pressure for such matters could prove to be counterproductive. Many already struggle with financial, or emotional, stress while trying to raise their young ones properly, and holding lawfully obligated for every mistake the latter commit can discourage, rather than supporting them, exacerbating complications, which could cause chaos for already distraught families.

Having said that, some do support this move, despite this view lacking in substance, and profess such a policy will precipitate a quick impact, for the fear of reprimand, fines  and levies would motivate mothers and fathers to act, and educate their offspring about righteous ways, and embracing socially acceptable behavior.

To conclude, although families must be held accountable for the well being of their little ones, they should not be blamed for every wrong decision their child makes. Young minds need to take the onus and understand the consequences of their actions, rather than depending on their parents to take the call.

In many countries the consumption of fast food has increased dramatically in recent years. What has caused this increase? What effect might it have on individuals and society?

In many countries the consumption of fast food has increased dramatically in recent years. What has caused this increase? What effect might it have on individuals and society?

Reasons

  • Hectic schedules leave little time for cooking at home

  • Changing family settings - from joint to nuclear

  • Traveling and tourism is also fueling this

  • This has become a mark of modern lifestyle and sophistication

  • Aggressive marketing and advertisements

    • Attractive content

    • Use of celebrities / influential

  • More disposable income

  • The ingredients of such edible goods are addictive which act as superstimuli

Individuals

  • Direct health is impacted

    • Mental well being is impacted due to ingredients

    • Nutritional deficit

  • Can pose financial constraints

    • Everyday obsession is making people spend mindlessly

 Society

  • Affecting the public health, and thereby cumulative productivity

  • Posing a pressure on public health spendings

  • Causing environmental harm; promoting industrial farming and exploitation resources and animals

  • Causing traditional culinary skills to disappear .

The surge in obsession with ultra-processed foods has become a pressing concern, making it imperative to explore reasons fueling this phenomenon, and also its impact at individual and social level.

The most prominent source of this fast increment inclination for convenience meals is the modern ways of life that comprises hectic professional schedules and engrossing social commitments. These leave people with little time to cook at home or visit eateries, and wait for orders to arrive, persuading them to opt for quick alternatives such as burgers, pizza, pasta, and so forth. To exemplify, as per a report by The Urban Food Magazine, New York, nearly eighty percent of urbanites in western hemisphere have started relying on this nourishment owing to their engagement in jobs and social circles, and kitchens have been long forgotten.

Similarly, the manufacturers of these products blitz/ surround/ bombard consumers with the tempting graphic content of junk food in ads that feature celebrities and influencers, on every possible medium. To corroborate, fried chicken, tacos, and hotdogs, to name a few, are highly publicized delicacies of KFC, which register tremendous annual sales.

However, this penchant is costing people their mental and physical wellbeing; a growing number are becoming vulnerable to obesity, type-2 diabetes, cardiac complications and depression, among others, causing deterioration in quality of life. Additionally, the growing ratio of unhealthy population- a victim of this faulty food habit- is taking a toll on economic productivity, and public spending on healthcare and health infrastructure.

In hindsight, contemporary society is pushed into embracing quick-service food because of the preoccupation with employment and social occasions, and trebled by attractive advertising, but this can seriously jeopardize public health and national budgets. It is, thus, essential to discourage over indulgence with these meals for public good.

Some believe that teaching children at home is the best for the child’s development, while others think its’ important for children to go to school. Discuss advantages of both and give your opinion.

Whether rendering juveniles homeschooling is better, or is it necessary to enroll them in formal tuition, is a matter that evokes mixed responses. This issue needs to be profoundly delved into even though I lean towards the latter opinion.

Undeniably,  rendering education in the familial environment has been receiving growing accolades from several quarters, by virtue of it affording a comfortable surroundings where youngsters can engage with learning profoundly without inhibitions; they get a familiar atmosphere where they can  freely express their views, gain clarifications for their doubts, and also interact with their tutors more openly  even though this can make them bereft of chances of inculcating social skills: something crucial in modern times to survive successfully.

Nevertheless,  attending schooling in formative years is critical due to several reasons: receiving knowledge in conventional arrangement allows growing minds to espouse pivotal traits of studying in a disciplined set-up, wherein they are bound to finish their tasks within the given deadlines. To corroborate, the school goers grow up to be more responsive and organized adults, for they have been trained to comply with time limitations, and strive to complete their work as per the norms.

Similarly, this system is bound to bring them broader learning opportunities by enabling them to foster broader comprehension of topics and content with the help of them seeking solutions for their own queries, as well as of their peers. Umpteen studious learners admit remaining active during classroom sessions and fostering wider perspectives about any topic owing to discussions they are predisposed to when educators clarify doubts of learners.

In hindsight, although home schooling does render convenience and friendly surroundings, attending traditional schooling institutions enjoys an upper hand; this prepares young individuals better for future life by predisposing them to the outer world.

Many people believe that today there is a general increase in anti-social behaviour and lack of respect for others. What might have caused this situation? How to improve it?

Nowadays, there has been a rapid rise in the incidence of crimes and unacceptable behaviour of individuals. This can be  attributed to several reasons. However, there are umpteen ways to mitigate this unwanted situation.

The primary reason behind the increment in anti-social activities and apathy for others, is poverty which forces people to live in deprivation. This is fuelling jealousy against the elite, and pushing them  to resort to unlawful means to afford what is beyond their reach. Moreover, they are also subjected to inhuman treatment by the influential which turns them rebellious, prompting them to disrespect everything that reminds them of their destitution, causing them to turn against the rich and feeding unwarranted behavior.

Besides this, lack of proper upbringing has not left even the prosperous untouched since most are engrossed in their professional and social endeavors, they have little time to monitor their wards, and to add fuel to fire, they pamper the latter, making the young ones go astray and permanently denting their personalities and behavior.

Nevertheless, there are plenty of ways to improve the situation. Governments should establish initiatives that target upheaval of the marginalized and render them all possible facilities like food, shelter, health care and education to name a few. This will improve the quality of life of such sections and dissuade them from resorting to illegal means.  Besides this,  there is a dire need for intervention from parents who should not only monitor but also regularly counsel their wards to let them grow as rational adults.

In hindsight, I opine that despite the current situation being undesirable, things can be improved and turned around if a rational and sensitive approach is adopted towards those impoverished - through upliftment - and also the young ones by rendering them  better rearing.

Adult youths are often called up for working for the development of the communities. Do you think they should work voluntarily or should they get paid? Give your opinion in no less than 250 words.

Adult youths are often called up for working for the development of the communities. Do you think they should work voluntarily or should they get paid? Give your opinion in no less than 250 words.

The youth in several countries are often encouraged to engage in community services. It has raked a profound debate whether they should volunteer, or should they be given money for the work they do for people.

Many are in reciprocation  favor of such an arrangement, they perceive it as a for what youngsters obtain from society.  One does not become a good doctor, engineer or a professional by themselves, they reach these positions after getting subsidized education, which is funded with the help of hard-earned money of taxpayers, and therefore, it becomes a moral duty of the youngsters to repay it and help save monetary resources of the state. Also, working voluntarily for the good of communities will make them empathetic towards their surroundings and those who populate the society. Furthermore, this will afford  them exposure in many ways as they will learn new things and acquire new skills, thus benefiting them in the long run.

However, as no monetary benefits are involved, working unpaid might discourage youngsters from taking up such noble tasks for long, or might distract them from such initiatives at all. Everyone has their family to feed, and as they are at the beginning of their careers, they lack resources to grow further, which can be fulfilled up to a certain level by being financially strong. The ones who give up their job hunting to work voluntarily should be compensated monetarily.

Overall, it can be said that, although  volunteering for the  good of communities is a noble cause and develops an individual in several aspects, if monetary benefits are also introduced in such endeavors, it will become more sustainable, and will be an icing on the cake, thereby, it will prove to be a win-win for all.

Nowadays most information is available online, whereas in the past knowledge used to be stored in books and on paper. Do you think the advantages of this situation outweigh its disadvantages?

Today, one can explore the internet to study or gain knowledge, while in yesteryears they had  to peruse books and paper.  This scenario has its own benefits and problems, but whether the former eclipses the latter is a matter that needs a profound analysis.

Data being available online has its own advantages, like at one click one can get information: searching for a place to go, looking for upcoming events,  deriving study material and many more. This helps one manage their day-to-day routine and works differently for different people. Furthermore, it helps students to learn and study easily: they can find information online conveniently without needing to carry or browse through heavy paper-based material, saving them time and effort.

Similarly, this arrangement is extremely ecologically sustainable: the  advent of the internet-based platforms and portals has ushered in a paper-less era, wherein every organization is shifting from physical material to virtual one. Consequently,  the felling of trees for manufacturing paper has mitigated to a great extent, allowing rewilding of denuded areas. To corroborate, as per the European Environment Agency, countries like Switzerland, Germany  and France have been able to restore forests due to fall in demand for paper in recent years.

However, one does encounter certain challenges while relying on the information available online. It is many times not authentic - by virtue of being unsolicited - and thus, often misleading and unreliable. Likewise, there are chances of redundant inputs - that might be too old to be relevant - being supplied to the information seekers, exposing them to unwarranted situations.

To conclude, storing and deriving information from online sources can be beneficial and does afford greater merits than pitfalls by virtue of being a convenient and environmentally friendly method: its utility can be optimized provided one uses it prudently.

In some parts of the world traditional festivals and celebrations have disappeared or are disappearing. What problems is this causing? What measures could be taken to counter this situation?

Undeniably, customs and rituals have taken a back seat in the wake of globalization, which is bound to result in several complications,  making it imperative to discover a panacea to overcome this challenge.

The complications precipitating owing to cultural practices fading from public memory include people getting detached from roots: the youth have lost the sense of identity, and   connection with their ancestral knowledge, and If it does not stop,  the cultural legacy will be lost. Likewise,  upcoming generations will be oblivious of rationale influencing commemoration of special occasions, and observing rituals - that are based on climate and geography - resulting in catastrophic outcomes: traditional ways of forging bonds among inhabitants will be lost.

However, this scenario can be countered by adopting some prudent measures, like people must start narrating their native history to their little ones and help them comprehend the relevance and significance of celebrating festivals and rituals. Moreover, they need to ensure that they enjoy festivities with their families, relatives, cousins, neighbors and communities. This could help add excitement and flair to events and practices; the youth are more inclined to engage with occasions that invite them to explore, and enjoy moments of togetherness.

Additionally, communities must also play their part by organising special happenings to mark the occasions  of  traditional and cultural relevance such as communal carnivals - food, dance and fashion shows in traditional attire, get-togethers, taking out processions and marches. For instance, Japanese have started celebrating their traditional new year by holding an array of  events that primarily involves youngsters, affording them an opportunity to familiarize with endemic culture

To conclude, this disappearance of indigenous festivals has become a pressing concern and might cause loss of culture, and eventually, communal identity, but these can be reinvigorated  through education, and communal celebrations.

There are many different types of music in the world today. Why do we need music? Is the traditional music of a country more important than the international music that is heard everywhere nowadays? Discuss.

In concurrent times, music plays a pivotal role among individuals. Indeed, there are many distinct types of music such as rock, pop-music and traditional, to name a few. In this essay , I will discuss why one needs music and is native genre is more valuable than global music.

Undeniably, music is considered to be the language of the soul which one can associate with and express their personal emotions with. Similarly, this form of art is considered as the best way for one to relax and also sustain temperaments. In recent studies, it has been witnessed by scholars from MIT, department of music and human behaviour, who reported that those who listen to music have 10 times more patience than others who do not.

As far as comparing the relevance of local and global genres, the former draws in support from conservatives. The world is populated by disparate cultures and traditions. It has been said by many individuals that native  music has its own and unique identity to mirror endemic cultures and customs, and those listening to their folk genre assert that this renders them a sense of belongingness to their region.

On the face of it, a few commentators who corroborate that in the modern era, transnational music is an emerging phenomena, indeed, this type helps such individual to not only overcome depression but is also a fad in clubs and birthdays parties, and a few individuals use it as a method to energize themselves for various activities such as while working out at gyms.

To recapitulate, I personally feel that choice of music is an individual prerogative and no measures can be taken to compare the importance of different types of music because each represents its own uniqueness.

Multicultural society brings more benefits to the country than drawbacks. In what extent do you agree or disagree?

Multicultural society brings more benefits to the country than drawbacks. In what extent do you agree or disagree?

The modern world order generally entails a population that hails from diverse ethnicities, cultures, regions and corners of the world. This can be easily experienced in various cities and countries, today. This has, however, somehow led to a rigorous argument as some feel that multicultural societies are laden with significant benefits, while others feel that such a social setting is a recipe for disaster.

Housing people from various cultures, using distinct languages, can prove to be counterproductive. Humans, whatever they may do, cannot brush aside their tribal attitudes and cultural and language bias, which can surface any time. This can lead to social discord, and in extreme cases fuel civil strife; thus making situations turn ugly.

Nonetheless, societies having sizable representation from diverse ethnicities often sports a tolerant and receptive outlook, and earn a reputation for being a progressive society. Those residing in such vibrant settings often obtain multiple benefits since they are guaranteed safe social-surrounding that sans racial slur, and that promotes acceptability. The governments of such countries make it a point to extend and render support to every section of society. Such communities have been known to maintain and sustain a harmonious and peaceful lifestyle for a long time.

Furthermore, it is believed that each culture and language carry its distinct content of knowledge, accumulated by the ancestors of natives, of those cultures and users of tongue, which helps in creating a synergy of efforts, knowhow and wisdom. This integrated knowledge can be harnessed productively and bring in rich returns for the society.

To sum up, I personally feel; in the age of globalized society, living in multicultural  setting would be highly beneficial. Such a social setting will define most of the societies, and people will continue to enjoy exploits of such an arrangement.

Benefits

Drawbacks

The policy of data retention by commercial entities and internet-based platforms has become a ubiquitous practice. Although this facilitates personalized browsing, there are umpteen hazards: data theft and scams, which outrightly eclipse any benefits derived.

The most prominent upside of this arrangement is that it extends unprecedented convenience while using the internet, in the form of extending personalized search, and getting suggestions about targeted products, services, and other objectives. For instance, most users of Google browser report that they tend to save humongous time while looking for desired goods and services, entertainment, and even employment, as most of the time, the search engine fetches them accurate information. Similarly, one can circumvent the need to represent their details while availing services from establishments: hospitals, airlines, and online shopping portals, and can receive better facilities and discounts instead.

However, these pros fail to overwhelm pitfalls. Many have raised concerns about their privacy being encroached by businesses, sometimes by government agencies, who tend to use personal information to either pitch unnecessary products, and facilities, or monitor online activities. As per The Week, there is a growing resentment about people receiving unsolicited calls from telecallers, and warning flags from law enforcement agencies.

Moreover, this system has resulted in a phenomenal rise in the instances of theft of personal information by cyber criminals who use it to defraud ignorant internet subscribers, and steal their money or misuse their data to cheat others. To corroborate, as per European online intelligence agency, over 800,000 people were robbed of their money through scams like cyber arrest.

To conclude, undeniably, even though careful use can mitigate risks associated with this policy, the reality is one can not always be on high alert, and thus, it is hard to surmount its shortcomings.

Introduction 1:

Data retention by commercial entities and internet-based platforms has become a common practice today, and it can offer certain benefits such as facilitating personalized browsing, but one can also be exposed to certain hazards. This makes it imperative to assess whether the former outshine the latter.

In the future all cars , buses, and trucks will be driverless. The only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages?

With advancements in technology, it is anticipated that all modes of transportation will be self-driven in future, and humans using all the modes will be merely commuters. However, this development is vulnerable to both pros and cons, stipulating a profound analysis to ascertain whether the former exceeds the latter, or not.

Those  supporting this upcoming evolution assert that autonomous vehicles will afford myriad benefits - the most imperative being eliminating human error, helping get rid of mishaps; undeniably,  most road accidents stem from mistakes by drivers. Moreover, for those traveling over long distances, it will be a comfortable ride that sans any hazards, they could just have to sit back and enjoy outside views and relax without facing the menace of falling asleep over the driving wheel.

Nevertheless, apprehensions are abounding;  although automatic vehicles extend certain dividends, these also come with certain pitfalls - all modes of commuting becoming free of drivers will engender high probability of unemployment incrementing. Similarly, the conservatives dread surrendering to these advancements. This view can be corroborated by quoting a study which reveals that one cannot rely on machines prone to malfunctioning unannounced.

Furthermore, resentment is often expressed by scholars from Harvard, Department of Automation, autonomous vehicles are not always the cup of tea for those deriving a sense of enjoyment and adventure while driving their own vehicles, and robot-driven vehicles will take away that pleasure. Leisure drives are still the favorite hobby of a majority condemned to lead hectic lifestyles swamped by robotics, but being taken away from the driving wheel would rob them of their free time.

Overall, despite controversies and counter arguments, although there are some pitfalls of automated vehicles, there are benefits galore, and easily overwhelm the former since safety enjoys precedence over personal whims and fears.
