Some people believe that watching TV is bad for children, while others claim it has positive effects for children as they grow up. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The great public discourse of contemporary times is aligned with a view that watching television could have a negative influence on young minds, while others believe that this could be beneficial. It is, however, quite prudent to encourage engagement with this medium, but there should be some limits.

A lobby propounds that juveniles become vulnerable to umpteen ailments due to such engagement: eye fatigue, back pain and so on, by virtue of looking at the screens, irreversibly affecting their physical wellness, and precipitate serious and enduring repercussions that extend well into adulthood. To corroborate, in Japan, many youngsters report suffering from incessant back pain due to poor posture while watching TV. Moreover, this electronic device is addictive, forcing one to stay glued to the content being broadcasted prolonging engagement; consequently, making them unproductive and hampering their cognitive development

Nevertheless, a group strongly asserts that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Watching television could have positive effects on tender minds since  it could act as a medium to vent out their stress, help them relax and rejuvenate by earning a  break from their mundane overburdened school work. This aids in holistic development of minds where both work and recreation can be balanced, especially in times when outdoor endeavors are increasingly becoming rare for young ones.

Furthermore, the TV programs can bolster knowledge of youngsters. There are several channels showcasing informative topics, which could aid in broadening horizons: documentaries, news, quizzes, and many more. For example, a recent survey revealed umpteen young individuals watch The Discovery channel to expand their knowledge, enhancing their general awareness about a plethora of topics.

In conclusion, considering the aforementioned views, I believe that excess of everything is bad, the same goes for the television too. As this invention could cause addiction and diseases, and hence it should be used within limits.

Some people believe watching films is a waste of time. Do you agree or disagree?

Some people believe watching films is a waste of time. Do you agree or disagree?

There is an ongoing debate as some think that engaging with movies squanders time. However, I believe that this medium is a rich source of entertainment since these act as a great  leisure time endeavor.

To begin with, globally, people watch movies in their leisure time for entertainment: a rich mix of visuals with audios engage viewers in a more interactive way: emotionally and psychologically, through inspirational, fiction, biographies, thrillers and comedy, among others, helping one unwind effectively. For instance, the University of Auckland, organised a weekend activity where they invited students and faculties for a movie show inside the campus after their usual day, and observed that people relaxed, and enjoyed, while watching the movie, and admitted that most of them used movies to rejuvenate and be with their close ones.

Similarly, this mode acts as a way to create and strengthen bonds between friends and family members since when watching a motion picture at home or in a cinema, the whole family or group stays together. To exemplify, Indian families children and elders watch movies together on their weekends and holidays, which helps them to spend some quality time together, after their busy weekday schedules, and for most of the respondents to a survey by Filmfare, this was a regular ritual. Also, people who watch movies expand their knowledge about different subjects such as culture, traditions and behavior of people in different countries, thereby broadening their perspectives.

To conclude, watching movies, instead of being a useless exercise, forms the most important part of leisure activity, which lifts mood and prepares viewers for the next task, and thus, these prove to be highly productive in multiple ways for every generation.

Some people today argue that the media has become increasingly nostalgic and unoriginal. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people today argue that the media has become increasingly nostalgic and unoriginal. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Agree

  • Most people are used to the content that has already been produced and cannot be replicated, so media houses go on producing sequels of those
  • The multitude of investment has risen manifolds and investors do not want to risk into experimentation
  • Even in music, most are shifting back to the classic style

Disagree

  • The unconventional approach still thrives: movies and operas have moved away from glamor of star-like appearances to content that portrays more real life like situations
  • Even if some old content is being showcased, it is in modern perspective and not dependent on the old narratives.

Are the concurrent media houses truly being blamed for reproducing the old content, and displaying lack of imagination, or it is a misplaced notion, is a matter that needs a critical analysis before arriving at a well-reasoned conclusion.

Those harbouring the belief that modern producers of films, soap operas, music, and so forth, have started resorting to replicating the material produced in the past because there is a conspicuous void of inventiveness. Contemporary creators, due to their overwhelming reliance on technology in every sphere of life, cannot think out-of-the-box, forcing them to draw inspiration from something created some decades, or centuries ago, and adapt them to address the taste of the present audience.

Moreover, the current generation does not have any achievement to its credit, whereas their predecessors had to face struggles and catastrophic events, and so forth, that rendered them a stimulus to make something that portrayed the hardships facing humanity in ingenious ways. However, the current generation lacks first-hand experience, and thus, base their portrayals on formerly created material.

Nevertheless, despite the former view holding some substance, it lacks universal acceptance; the human mind is a huge repository of diverse experiences, feelings, and aspirations, and responds to surroundings in novel ways, showcased in various manifestations of art. Those accusing content creators of lacking ingenuity are themselves unable to absorb changes in presentations. To corroborate, movies and serials have moved from being dramatic to being more realistic: something which the older generation finds incompatible and only watches something that matches their expectations even if the plot is old.

In conclusion, there may be some simply emulating content produced in yesteryears; nonetheless, a majority of media organizations circumvent using old ideas, and tend to rely on their resourcefulness to formulate material that exhibits freshness.

Some people believe watching films is a waste of time. Do you agree or disagree?

Some people believe watching films is a waste of time. Do you agree or disagree?

In the contemporary era, people believe that watching films is a waste of time while others disagree with this notion. I will analyze both the views and share my plausible opinion.

Nowadays, some people believe that investing time on watching movies is useless as it makes people experience addiction, pushing people to binge watching and overlook other essential tasks. Likewise, content made for adults may be accessed by juveniles, making them fall for the wrong habits and adopt unfair practices such as, consuming drugs and alcohol. To exemplify, research was carried out in Norway and observed that people are facing more crimes occurring by juveniles  which is reflecting the ways mostly opt in movies and documentaries. It especially hampers the productivity of the personnel and tends to attract audiences by making them engage in watching movies made for entertainment purposes.

However, movies are a great medium that brings families together. People are extremely busy with their chaotic schedules as they hardly get time to mundane from their hectic lives for their loved ones. This endeavor acts as a healthy distraction, allowing people to unwind from their hectic schedules: professionals take some time out of their work, while pupils out of their studies to watch films and relax, rejuvenating their minds. Moreover, this also helps bring families together, enhancing the charm of weekends and occasions, especially juveniles get time to spend time with their siblings and families.  Additionally, motion pictures create awareness about the different traditions, culture, diverse music and language exposure

In hindsight, disputes aside, accessing movies renders a great experience, makes people explore different aspects of society, besides giving them a chance to relax and also spend some time with their families.

Some countries produce their own films, while others do not. What are the reasons for this? Is it a positive or a negative development?

Some countries produce their own films, while others do not. What are the reasons for this? Is it a positive or a negative development?

Reasons for some countries not producing their own movies

  • Some societies lack resources: expertise, modern technology and money

  • Some face impediments in terms of having limited audience

  • Some cultures do not allow such entertainment

  • Chaotic social environment

Benefits

  • Global perspectives enrich local psyche

  • Lead to cultural reinvention

Drawbacks

  • Can hamper cultural perpetuation and result in cultural invasion instead

  • Impedes local creativity

  • Loss of economic opportunities

  • Impact tourism negatively

It is quite intriguing that despite movies becoming a ubiquitous form of entertainment, some parts of the world have chosen to abstain from producing local content. This lack of inclination may be fueled by economic or social factors, but this makes society vulnerable to cultural invasion.

At the outset, the most prominent underlying aspect underpinning reluctance to bolster home-grown production of motion pictures is the orthodox social environment that forbids the local populace from engaging in creation of any such material; it is believed any involvement with this modern medium might fetch them the wrath of their ancestors and bring them bad omen. To exemplify, numerous countries in the Middle- east and North-Africa have enacted laws to circumscribe/ban such activities.

Similarly, even some liberal regions are unable to produce their own cinema owing to paucity of resources and financial feasibility. Admittedly, they face an acute shortage of modern equipment, expertise, and sufficient audience to receive and view local creations, making it onerous to justify the colossal investments in relation to the anticipated returns, thereby discouraging such endeavors.

However, although some might uphold this unwillingness as praiseworthy, depriving the local populace of films made within the country means opening doors to forays by cultural aspirations brought in by foreign pictures which could result in dilution of native ways of life and beliefs. Moreover, this attitude is likely to rob citizens of opportunities of gaining employment and business created by the film production sector based within the country.

To conclude, this propensity of not having home-based movie productions is supported by absence  of an appropriate environment; having said that, it is laden with a plethora of complications that could lead to disappearance of local customs and beliefs, and thus, I consider it to be detrimental.

Some people say that now we can see films on our phones or tablets and there is no need to go to the cinema. Others say that to be fully enjoyed, films need to be seen in a cinema. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Some people say that now we can see films on our phones or tablets and there is no need to go to the cinema. Others say that to be fully enjoyed, films need to be seen in a cinema.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, a majority feels that movies can be viewed on hand-held devices, whereas many oppose this notion and think old fashioned way: cinemas are irreplaceable. This essay shall critically scrutinize this matter and draw a plausible conclusion.

Many suggest that by virtue of the advancement in technology people can watch films on their mobile devices, without setting a foot outside of their homes, with the help of the internet. The new releases are immediately made  available on the OTT platforms, and other streaming websites,  making it accessible all the time; one can watch it during their lunch breaks, or right before going to bed; they also can easily pause, rewind, and stop a movie at their convenience, with no time constraints like a fixed showtime. Moreover, this method is cheaper and renders access to a vast collection than watching a film in the hall; they have to pay nominally to the websites like Netflix and Amazon Prime, to name a few, and yet watch anything.

Nevertheless, the other school of thought professes that movies can only be enjoyed when watched in a movie theater. They feel it affords an immersive experience; large and expansive screens surrounded with sound systems that makes one feel like being a part of the action that is difficult to replicate elsewhere. Moreover, visiting a theater renders relaxed  viewing, wherein the audience can sit in an air-conditioned environment, and engross themselves in the content without any distractions.

To conclude, I feel even though watching movies on mobile phones and tablets is more convenient and pocket friendly, people should go out to watch a movie as it offers unparalleled pleasure, something that cannot be duplicated on a small screen.

Some people say that now we can see films on our phones or tablets there is no need to go to the cinema. Other say that to be fully enjoyed, films need to be seen in a cinema.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Technology-driven miniaturization has made entertainment, especially watching movies, portable, and many are drawn to it; can it really dent the reputation of movie theaters, is a million dollar question. However, I doubt that this can happen; the latter offers unique experiences that cannot be replicated on small screens.

Apprehensions  about cinema halls losing favor are gaining impetus from the steeply soaring numbers being tempted by the unprecedented convenience and economy offered by portable modes of engaging with films. One does not need to adhere to the schedule of shows, wait for a formal release, or travel to designated venues, but they can instead explore content complementing their choice - regardless of their location, even while traveling - and play and replay the scenes they find fascinating. Moreover,  hand-held devices allow big savings in terms of money, otherwise spent on procuring expensive show-tickets. These factors make it almost certain, as per some, that these conventional mediums, once frequented by huge crowds,  may become history.

However, despite the doomsday predictions about cinema halls vanishing, these are likely to endure and  retain their charm:  they have quickly adapted themselves to counter the impact of technology, and started integrating features - like surround sound, and 3-D and 4-D effects, among others,  to afford unmatched experience - and keeping their clients enticed. Similarly, visiting cinema halls is a social ritual for many, a means of affording a chance to escape the mundane, socialize, and view  motion pictures in an environment that sans distractions.

In hindsight, undeniably, although the digital footprint in entertainment, by affording unprecedented flexibility, is bound to expand, it hardly threatens movie halls, for the latter have their own distinct allure: unparalleled watching experience, and pleasure, and these both means will coexist, rather than compete with each other.

Some people believe watching films is a waste of time. Do you agree or disagree?

Some people believe watching films is a waste of time. Do you agree or disagree?

Agree

  • Passive entertainment that does not stimulate any senses

  • Can create wrong notions about people, approaches and also instigate distorted behavior

  • People can go into state of disconnection from those around them

Disagree

  • Helps relax, rejuvenate and also entertain

  • Can be a healthy distraction from mundane life

  • Can graphically represent and promote national, social and communal aspirations, and deliver important messages  subtly

  • Help viewers satisfy their craving for adventure, suspense, horror, profound situations, and so forth

Those skeptical of motion pictures term engaging with this medium as squandering invaluable time. Even though this perception has been widely propagated, it is misplaced and lacks substance.

The  cynicism surrounding the use of this audio visual medium cites sporadic instances in support. This media is blamed for being unproductive and instigating distorted behaviour, wherein viewers, especially those with  deviant thoughts,  waste hours in sedentary postures, and instead draw inspiration from the plots, and engage in illegal behaviour. Nevertheless, umpteen human behaviourists allay these fears, and profess that the overwhelming majority, even youngsters, can differentiate between reel and real life, and consume such content to satisfy their craving for suspense, sufferings, and committing antisocial acts without partaking in them.

Nevertheless,  this prolific tool of entertainment affords the most plausible medium of earning a healthy distraction from the mundane of hectic life, most humans are condemned to lead, and not only unwind but also rejuvenate fatigued minds and bodies, helping prepare one to go back to the same routine of meeting social, personal, familial, and professional obligations, with a refreshed mindset. Historically, mankind has indulged with various forms of art, to surmount hurdles posed by exhaustion, and films are just the modern manifestation of the same art.

Similarly, viewing movies can render an enriching experience by exposing music, acting, scenic views of the location they are shot in, social and traditional practices, and so forth, to those watching these. Many admit gathering knowledge about diverse regions, cultures, peoples, locales, and so on, by viewing cinema, without actually traveling

In hindsight, disputes aside, this allegation is founded on misconceptions, and unproven narratives; this way of entertaining oneself has empowered everyone to derive healthy and safe entertainment, besides obtaining abundant knowledge about disparate  corners of the world.

Many people believe that television helps remove our loneliness. To what extent do you agree  or disagree?, or

Does television remove our loneliness or not?

Many people believe that television helps remove our loneliness

Television has revolutionized the realm of personalized entertainment, and is often deemed as a productive companion in solitude, but does this notion hold substance is a matter worth delving deeper into.

Undeniably, this modern device has helped those living on their own tremendously by filling up their moments, and surroundings, of seclusion with affable sounds of music, laughter, emotional portrayals - amusing content, sports programs and music concerts; inputs about current happenings through news, and so on, letting them experience the warmth of joy, empathy, energy; and alternatively, sorrows, wherein one is exposed to such sentiments through the portrayals of anguish, grief and distress through characters in movies, soap operas.

Moreover, modern lifestyles entail an overwhelming engagement with professional obligations, this technological aid comes in as a respite for those returning home physically and mentally drained, with little energy and enthusiasm remaining for going and  interacting  with others in their social circles: it allows one to entertain themselves within the confines of their comfort zones and forgo the arduous task of dressing up and stepping out of home to socialize.

Nonetheless, by virtue of humans being gregarious creatures, many dread  inhabiting such lifestyles; this machine has become a medium of addiction and social isolation rather than offering companionship when someone is alone. Watching TV engages  viewers, so profoundly,  with the content that they are left bewildered, turning them oblivious of   their surroundings, in the process, discouraging interaction even with those around them, fueling a sense of aloofness and detachment, making them feel despondent and abandoned.

In hindsight, excess of everything is bad; in the same way, using television as a way to fulfill the need of being among loved ones does help; however, this can turn into an obsession if excessively used. Thus, prudence is recommended.

The government should control the amount of violence in films and on television in order to decrease the violent crimes in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

There is a prevalent belief that unlawful acts of violent nature stem from brutality showcased in motion films and television programs; thus, to help impede such phenomenon the content in these media should be strictly regulated. This essay shall examine the relevance of this statement in the following paragraphs, and emanate a substantiated conclusion.

At the outset, the support for this proposal is founded on the assumption( presupposition/postulation/presumption/hypothesis) that cruelty is highly glamorised and tends to impact viewers, especially the young, as it gives a food for thought and persuades individuals to emulate such criminal endeavors. This lobby is often seen citing sporadic cases that followed famous Netflix series like Money Heist. This program was blamed for an increment in incidents  all across the world mimicking similar ideas of savagery, heightening criminal activities. Nevertheless, the producers overtly claimed that the inspiration for this soap opera was drawn from real incidents that took place in various cities of the USA.

However, the opponents of this notion fail to concur as they feel that the audience must not be deprived of a particular genre. They assert that the audience, regardless of their age in contemporary times, have a mind of their own, and will not accept something that does not appeal to them. They rarely blur the boundaries between the reel and real life. Movies and tele-series prove to be a mere source of entertainment and do not coax anyone to resort to illegal acts showcasing blood and gore.

Therefore, the suggestion that the cinematic industry promulgates violence and should be barred from presenting such content can be vehemently questioned and debunked; the audience is smart enough to differentiate between what is happening on screen and the impact of such undertakings in real life.

Some people feel that entertainers are paid too much money. Do you agree or disagree? Which other types of job should be highly paid?

Some people feel that entertainers are paid too much money. Do you agree or disagree? Which other types of job should be highly paid?

The entertainment industry has always received limelight and as a result there is a lot of money invested on the talent supporting this realm. These current payouts are highly inflated in comparison to the time invested, as per the popular opinion goes. Some also extend their suggestions about other occupations that should receive astronomical sums.

Over the past few decades, the entertainment industry has commanded a premium over many other professions. This has been fueled by the need for the general population to worship celebrities. This has given the entertainers a free hand to demand for money and has gone unchecked for far too long. The situation has reached a stage where there is no correlation between the hours of work and the associated rewards.

The critics are up in arms against the sky-high earnings of those engaged in various domains connected to entertainment, be it actors, singers, musicians or players. As per their view, these individuals are hardly doing anything that can benefit society. The wealth they amass, as a result of their popularity, sets wrong precedents for the society, especially the youth who are also swayed by the riches and abandon their occupations and goals that could help them harness their talent  and afford several benefits for society.

There is a unanimous view from various sections of society that rally behind the idea of raising the compensation of those engaged in certain professions that are essential  and help build a society: public service, medical professionals, teachers, and charity workers to name a few. These professionals focus on building, serving, and saving lives and have a direct impact on the lives of many individuals. A survey by National Youth daily, brought forth a shocking statistic that over 80% of young individuals have steered clear of fields including public services  and medicine simply because there is a scope to earn more money with minimum efforts which include entertainment. This has also led to an increase in people shifting from trades that are pivotal to development to entertainment.

In conclusion, there is absolutely no reason that professionals from the entertainment industry should be paid colossally. Other  professions that enjoy strategic importance for a nation should receive more monetary credit. This would create an equal opportunity and the rewards will not be accorded to a particular set of industries alone.

Ielts Essay - In many countries plastic bags are the main source of rubbish causing pollution in oceans and on land Agree or Disagree Essay

In many countries plastic bags are the main source of rubbish causing pollution in oceans and on land; therefore they should be banned. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

As focus on protecting  environment intensifies, talks of imposing a ban on the plastic bags seems to be gaining momentum. But is banning these bags really correct? It is a matter worth deep delving into.

Keen green lobbyists cite various reasons for curbing use of carry-bags made of polyurethane: they are truly a menace for the environment. Being bio non-degradable, it is really hard to get rid of plastic bags. As estimates suggest, the way humans are dumping plastic bags, the day is not far when planet earth  will get choked. This has also become a cause of exacerbating even mild natural phenomena into major disasters, like incessant rains turning into floods, because of the choked drains -  that are blocked by plastic.

Moreover, these bags have quickly penetrated various spheres of environment, especially the land and water. The debris of plastic bags either are turning fertile land into barren areas - since they impede transfer of nutrients back to soil, if bags made out of plastic are abandoned on the land, or are being consumed by marine life which ultimately ends up killing it. In case fish survive long enough to caught by humans, the plastic residue is transferred to human body with sea food; thus threatening the human health too.

However, there are those who feel that banning bags of plastic is not the right solution. Plastic bags are a better way to protect natural resources – they are synthesized using artificial material, and use much less energy to produce. It is felt that poor plastic bags are victims of misconceptions and misuse – it is humans to blame for this and not humble bags.

To conclude, I personally feel, curtailing plastic bags use is the only choice: this is the only way to flush out this serious hazard.

Ielts Essay - Violent Games
Electronic media has overwhelmed mindsets of humans today, especially kids are the most vulnerable group since they are easily influenced by the content of these modern means of entertainment. This is surely having numerous negative effects on the young minds, however, solutions to cope up with this problems are available on hand.

It has been observed violent content being showcased is distorting the growing mindsets. Children, after watching such content or playing such games try to emulate whatever they see or experience. This often results in aggressive behavior: many studies suggest that juveniles, as innocent and ill-informed they are, tend to re-enact what they experience in the graphic content with their peers, family members and around. The impact of such violent content can be substantiated from the reported rise in juvenile crimes that range from petty shop lifting to instances of more serious nature, such as carjacking and even homicides.

However, many social theorists and child psychologists are of the opinion that  the evil can be nipped in the bud itself if some cautious and judicious steps are taken meticulously. These may include regular and close monitoring by parents and counseling the children from to time to enlighten the growing minds about the difference in the virtual world and the reality. Parents could even use some out of the box methods such as involving themselves in the activities with the kids and discussing various aspects of games and programs. Apart from this, some stern steps could also be taken: imposing a complete ban on games, serials and activities that propagate and promote aggression.

Henceforth, I personally feel despite content depicting savagery being galore, situation can be handled by taking certain prudent steps and keeping children under close vigil.

Some people think that watching sports in leisure time is just a waste of time. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Ielts Essay - Sports as Free Time Activity

Watching sports in free time is a likely option for a majority, but quite often, this free time activity is looked down upon with great disdain by detractors of sports. As per this section, this time could be used more productively though I completely disagree with the notion: this is a great way to distress.

Watching sports during free time has some drawbacks, as people tend to live vicarious lives, ape players and pretend what they are not. Cheering from sidelines, besides being unproductive, has a good potential to make people impulsive and aggressive, the fall-out of which can be unwanted unfortunate violence. Watching sports also leads to sacrificing whole day that could have been used to interact with family and friends.

However, watching sports in free time, is considered as the best and safest of the options. Watching a prefabricated and predictable story, in form of movies and soaps, is mundane and sometimes taxing for, the already drained of energy, people. The sports lovers do not only get a chance to watch the most exciting reality shows, in form of matches, but also get a chance to observe and learn about how teams, or players cope-up with the pressure, and make comebacks. These skills can be of immense help in real life, especially at workplaces.

This past time is laden with multiple benefits for physical and mental health. It helps viewers to vent out their pent up feelings of remorse, anger, aggression and frustration – when a team is underperforming, or losing – quite safely without any damage.  People also get a chance to experience jubilation while watching a match, this helps people experience excitement similar to players playing in the game.

Hence, watching sports in free time is better than many other ways of spending leisure time, and any criticism extended is a mere expression of those who are jealous of this pastime.

The government should control the amount of violence in films and on television in order to decrease the violent crimes in society. In what extent do you agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Media and Crime
The content being aired on television and shown in movies has always been under a critical scanner of various law enforcement agencies and critics across the world. A deep argument rages over whether there is any close link between rising crime and violence being shown on the audio-visual media.

Content being aired on audio-visual media, be it cinema or television soaps, surely has an impact on the viewers. Sadistic scenes on media have become increasingly graphic and often inspire the most susceptible sections of the society, especially the juveniles and the ones with criminal tendencies, as they try to emulate the sensationalized hateful scenes, they are served on media. Regulating the content would surely bring around a fall in graph of crime, and improve the situation to some extent.

Moreover, the scenes and news of violence seems to trigger innate animal instincts in the people, and watching visuals, that portray use of brute force or depiction of savagery, does little to help to keep those instincts dormant. People fear that such scenes and plots inspire viewers to react the way in which the characters, being featured, behave. The fiction seems to turn into a reality for such people. Curtailing such content would surely help in such a case.

However, as various surveys prove, there is not a slightest of connections between the rising violence and sadistic content being shown on media. Whatever is directed and produced for cinema and television is inspired by real life incidents, and aims to inform people of the evils. This content, in no way, tends to incite violence and crime.

To sum up, I personally feel, controversies aside, graphic depiction of violence on entertainment media has not connection with crime and thus there is no need to control such content.

Ielts Essay - Computer games and children
The rising popularity of computer games among the young ones has raised alarm among many child psychologists and behaviorists;  they feel that this trend would have long lasting adverse impact on the mental and physical health though there are certain sections who feel otherwise.

Virtual games are often quoted to be the biggest show spoilers when it comes to fostering good habits among juveniles. These online and offline activities are addictive and push the children to adopt a sedentary lifestyle; the kids remain glued to their machines for hours together and ignore all other important things, especially physical activities, which as per some, can have serious consequences on their health and well-being, for instance youngsters, after wasting countless hours on these games are left with little energy to focus on sports and other calorie burning engagements which often makes them obese and lazy.

Moreover, these also lead them to confine themselves to their computer tables, and thus, lead a life devoid of any social contact. This can have severe ramifications for the development of young minds; they tend to miss critical moments and hints that would eventually help them in learning about social behavior and interaction. Similarly, certain games with violent content provioke aggressive behavior.

Nevertheless, these modern entertainment mediums are believed to be loaded with several benefits and are considered to be more productive than impediments; as many games are designed to target strategy and logic development in children. Young individuals can entertain themselves while learning a lot about organizing; strategy development and logical thinking.

To sum up, although computer-driven games do have some unfavorable impact on young minds, they also have umpteen pros which should not be ignored. However, monitoring of time tender minds spend on this activity is highly recommended.

Parents should be held legally responsible for their children’s acts. What is your opinion? Support it with examples from your experience.

In some countries, it is believed that crime among young people is increasing. What do you think are the reasons for this trend? What types ...
