Global warming is one of the biggest threats humans face in the 21st Century and sea levels are continuing to rise at alarming rates. What problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions?

Dramatically-incrementing temperatures pose a significant threat to humanity, especially in the current century, as it contributes to rising sea levels, extreme weather patterns and ecological imbalance. This has precipitated major concerns for coastal communities and nations around the world. I would like to discuss problems associated with this phenomenon and propose remedies.

One of the most concerning complications of this phenomenon: the rising sea levels presented is the displacement of millions of habitats in low lying coastal areas. These  regions are increasingly at risk of flooding, leading to loss of homes, infrastructure and livelihoods. Countries like Bangladesh and islands, such as Maldives, are particularly vulnerable to this threat. In the long run, this could lead to mass migrations, creating a humanitarian crisis as people will seek refuge in safer areas. In addition, this has also precipitated distortion in weather patterns such as typhoons and storm surges. These events can cause widespread damage to cities and agricultural lands, threatening food security and economic stability in many regions.

However, there are several potential antidotes to these menacing circumstances: alleviating greenhouse gas emissions, the primary driver of global warming, holds the key. Renewable  energy sources such as solar wind, and hydropower, should be prioritized and quickly supersede fossil fuels. Moreover, investing in more reliant infrastructure to withstand flooding tides can help. Coastal cities can build seawalls, levees and other protective structures to prevent flooding. Additionally, sustainable urban planning strategies should be adopted such as, restricting construction in flood prone areas, and implementing green infrastructure like parks and wetlands to absorb excess water.

In conclusion, the increasing influence of greenhouse effects presents serious challenges, from displacing populations to impacting economies. Thus, a combination of steps like emission reduction and sustainable development should be embraced to mitigate these impacts.

Global warming is one of the biggest threats humans face in the 21st Century and sea levels are continuing to rise at alarming rates. What problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions.

In contemporary times, the most imminent threat faced by humanity is degradation of hospitable conditions on the blue planet due to the rising sea levels which is the result of global warming, scientists are carrying out further research into other problems associated with this and appropriate solutions to counter them.

Warmer atmosphere has disturbed the natural balance and initiated a chain reaction, causing the ice-sheets and glaciers to melt which is in turn increasing the water level of oceans and rivers, as a result, most of the coastal regions and islands are in a serious risk of submerging, putting human settlements as well as natural habitats in jeopardy. Also, fluctuation in global temperatures are responsible for changing weather patterns which are resulting in drastic geographical shifts like rainforests are converting into arid land due to lack of rainfall, leading various species of animals to extinction.

Moreover, crop-yields have gone down as many regions are experiencing unexpected forecasts which are destroying not only harvest but also crucial resources expended in growing them, thus aggravating the already existing problem of food-shortage and poverty, especially in agrarian economies.

To counter this impending peril, strict implementation of environment friendly policies is essential which can encourage the public to mitigate their carbon-footprint by using eco-friendly energy sources like solar or wind which do not emit green-house gases, and use bicycles whenever possible instead of fossil fuel propelled vehicles. Industries should also be mandated to use biodegradable packaging materials and employ scrubbers to cut their emissions.

In hindsight, I opine that it is high time that human civilization as a whole adopts sustainable living practices, as the Earth is the only habitable planet known to mankind and turning it hostile towards life would be the same as knocking on death’s door.

What problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions.

Human activities have caused disarray in the equilibrium of nature, giving rise to major issues; warmer atmosphere, melting of ice glaciers and thus leading to a major rise in sea levels. It has become imperative to find ways to salvage the situation.

Global rise in temperatures is a major concern for coastal populations as the rising seawater level, due to the melting of ice, has made floods more rampant, causing risk to life and property. This also is making many cities and nations, like New York, Los Angeles and SIngapore to name a few, located on coasts, vulnerable to incidence of submerging underwater. Thus, inviting major economic crisis and chaos: many would be rendered homeless and jobless, thereby, making subsistence difficult for humans.

Moreover this phenomenon can result in extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes, tornadoes and heatwaves.  This may lead to major temperature changes in the environment as more rains and drought are likely to occur, which is a big threat for the flora and fauna, raising  the risk of spreading new diseases around the globe. These imbalances would result in major threats to drinking water, food supplies and human lives.

These issues can be addressed by nations and all governing bodies by reducing the dependency on fossil fuels and finding alternate sources to derive energy. With that major incentives should be given to industries on reducing  carbon footprints. Most importantly, halting deforestation should be allocated a major priority as this would prevent buildup of greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide that is released after logging activity.

Hence, it is evident that humans have brought misery onto themselves in the form of this perilous situation. Thus, it is imperative that it is humans who can take remedial actions to prevent an imminent catastrophe.

Global warming is one of the biggest threats humans face in the 21st Century and sea levels are continuing to rise at alarming rates. What problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions

Undeniably, warming of the planet has fetched humongous challenges for mankind, and one of the steepest in rising levels of seas. This has posed serious threats to society, making it imperative to determine plausible mechanisms to mitigate the situation.

There are a myriad of challenges being generated by this evolution: coastal areas are on the verge of being submerged, and many have already experienced this impact, which is bound to disrupt life in all forms. The cities and towns need to be shifted farther inland that means relocating industry, households and even farming. This relocation is not only costly in terms of money but also time, and the domestic economies are  going to be exposed to disparate challenges and eventually suffer.

Similarly, this phenomenon is also going to cause seawater penetration of  fresh groundwater aquifers, turning them saline too, and unfit for human consumption. The domino effect of this will be felt in the agricultural sector - that heavily relies on such fresh water sources, impacting the food production and sending food prices rocketing.

However, the reversal of this situation is not beyond imagination even though it may be an uphill task. Some experts suggest umpteen solutions: fuel efficient modes of transport should be opted for and shift to greener forms of transportation should be prioritized. Moreover, the state can take a step forward by incentivising and compensating those complying by greener norms and those not switching should be penalized, either in monetary or nonmonetary terms such as in the form of de-licensing business rights.

Overall, high levels of seawater are undoubtedly going to disrupt human life,  but the remedies are not too far, instead merely a step away: implementation of prudent solutions  to evade such catastrophe can go a long way.

Global warming is one of the biggest threats humans face in the 21st Century and sea levels are continuing to rise at alarming rates.

What problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions.

Global warming and rise in sea levels have emerged as a major threat to mankind in the modern era. It has become an alarming situation for many politicians and environmentalists thereby, making many experts scramble for the associated consequences  and the plausible solutions for this pressing challenge.

Undoubtedly, global climate change has already had an observable effect on the environment, it is believed by the environmental experts that there are still other occurrences which might take place simultaneously like loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves to name a few. Consequently, affecting the ecological balance adversely. In the long run, there is a great possibility that the environment may become incompatible for life, causing extinction of not only flora and fauna but humans too.

There are several ways to overcome this challenge and reduce its effect on the planet, one of the prominent solutions suggested by experts involve the contribution of government and individuals – it is to resort to the eco friendly measures like  switching to the non- polluting energy resources such as wind and solar energy to generate electricity, instead of using fossil fuels.

Moreover, switching to sustainable transportation and infrastructure can also act a credible preventive measure to surmount global warming. Promoting the use of public transportation, carpooling, and also electric modes transit can help cut down emission of carbon dioxide. Besides this, reducing the use of air conditioners and heating systems in domestic and commercial buildings can help in conquering this major perilous phenomenon.

In hindsight, I personally feel that although the environment is on the edge of total collapse, a lot can be salvaged and impending danger can be averted by adopting appropriate measures at all levels: individual and social.

Ielts Essay Global Warming

Rapidly rising global temperatures are a growing menace and a major challenge for mankind in the contemporary times, for these have a potential to jeopardize human life. It is hence, a task of paramount importance to find a plausible mechanism to surmount this pressing problem.

The most prominent of the threats resulting from this phenomenon is an unprecedented increment in the levels of seawater due to rapidly melting glaciers and ice at poles. This has endangered the very existence of the coastal areas and cities like Mumbai, Sydney, Los Angeles and Singapore to name a few, which may be submerged under seawater in next few decades if the warming of the environment of the planet is not arrested right away.

Moreover, the impact of this occurrence would not stop here, as  more and more disastrous effects have become visible in the form of rapid climatic shifts and extreme weather patterns. More recently, extremely long summers with scorching heat in the tropical regions, and extended winters with temperatures dipping far below the freezing point are a new normal today. Similarly, droughts and inland flooding have become more frequent which were formerly unheard of.

The remedy for this perilous weather condition, nevertheless, lies with no one else but mankind, the primary force behind this catastrophic change. It is the need of the hour to immediately halt deforestation so that excessive release of carbon dioxide in the environment can be curtailed. Similarly, reducing dependence on fossil fuels for energy requirements would go a long way in cutting down emission of greenhouse gases.

Hence, undoubtedly global warming is casting an evil shadow on the very existence of humanity and the future of this planet. It is therefore extremely important to take remedial actions as soon as possible.
