In the contemporary era, pedaling has become obsolete in several parts across the globe. This essay will discuss the attributes fueling this decline, as well as extend the suggestions to motivate the individuals to include bicycles as a part of their routine.

This disinclination stems from several reasons: riding this 19th century innovation is a time-consuming activity, and in the current era, wherein everyone is overwhelmingly engaged in a perennial struggle to meet their professional and personal obligations, using bicycles as a primary form of traversing, is last on their priority list. Moreover, in the modern times, technology has gained a dominating position, and engaging with automobiles has become an obsession, for using these require little effort. For instance, riding this old vehicle needs one to pedal and exert physically, leaving them exhausted and drained of energy, whereas scooters, cars and even buses, offer comfortable journeys, persuading people to use modern means and abandon this old means.

Furthermore, health and safety have become another factor that has made cycles unpopular: spiraling use of fossil fuels, especially in the urban centers, caused humongous air pollution, thereby making the air unsuitable for breathing, and making cyclists vulnerable to serious respiratory ailments such as asthma and so forth

However, with the mushrooming health issues such as obesity, diabetes, among several others government should don the mantle by creating health awareness among masses through social campaigns, also by promulgating the benefits associated with the utilization of bikes such as the perks of saving money otherwise spent on fuel, pushing people to involve bicycling in their regime.

To reiterate, in order to include cycling as a primary mode of transportation, policymakers must take the onus of the wellbeing of the society by disseminating the advantages linked to this budget-friendly vehicle.
