Young drivers are careless and overconfident, and too many are killed in accidents. To eliminate this problem, we could teach children the skills of safe driving while they are at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Some commentators purport to mitigate instances of road fatalities resulting out of youngsters driving recklessly, formal tuition should don the mantle of training young ones about being responsible motorists, but some lodge their disapproval. The following paragraphs shall delve into this matter and share a plausible conclusion.

To start with, some argue that driving responsibly without jeopardizing the safety of others is an obligation of an ideal lawful citizen in the current paradigm, and thus, schools should take up the onus of fostering this dimension as they do it for other facets of the personality. Moreover, these establishments have the resources and professionals to create enlightenment about certain essential traits needed by a law-abiding adult; they can start sessions to observe the approach of individuals towards this task, and design activities to disseminate know-how - using texts and  manuals and consolidate the learning with the help of simulation and other practical endeavors.

Conversely, as per skeptics, this move might persuade learners to focus on something that can be taught later according to the need, causing degradation in syllabus and affecting academic outcomes adversely. Similarly, this will increase the burden on students and teachers; they already have numerous subjects to cover. For example, tutors prepare lessons in advance with complete research before imparting the same, a time-consuming process, and learners also need time to comprehend the topics taught, and an addition to the curriculum would add to their woes. Furthermore, this might cause youngsters to engage in misadventures; they are not mature enough to put the driving skills into practice.

Overall, I believe that such tutoring should not form a part of formal syllabus; schooling is for learning the more essential subjects to inculcate worldly wisdom and  professional inclination, and driving does not fall in that category

Dramatically rising instances of fatalities involving  young drivers is fueling relentless efforts for a reliable solution to address the growing menace. A proposal has recently surfaced, among numerous quarters, that young people should be imparted skills of safe driving at school though this view is not bereft of derision.

Formal tuition is being seen as a right place to train young minds about sensible driving; institutions imparting education shoulder the responsibility of nurturing all-round personality of young people, and today when safe driving, that requires  self discipline and control, is being increasingly regarded as an essential trait of a responsible and rational citizen, schools should don the mantle of training youth to be safe drivers.

Moreover, schools can provide conducive environment of learning: they have the resources and all the time to ensure an effective imparting of the content, using various tools and strategies equip students with the necessary knowhow. On the top of that, it is a general belief that when kids learn something among their peers, and that is imparted as a formal education under the guidance of aptly trained teachers, they tend to retain information for a long time.

However, these suggestions are not free of drawbacks, as critics point out. Schooling is a phase that primarily focuses on academic competence, that will help as kids professionals: there is no place, and in fact time, for a skill, like safe driving in an already overloaded schedule. If schools were to take up this task, it would be prove to be a distraction from primary objective, and futile - this knowledge cannot be applied until the legal driving age.

Overall, I feel that tutoring young minds about how to drive safely at school is an idea that is bereft of substance, and will largely remain ineffective, and cause distraction instead. Thus I disagree with this completely.

Young Careless Drivers
Young motorists are often viewed as reckless and excessively self-assured, and a significant number cause road mishaps. Some people suggest that this issue could be tackled by introducing road safety training to students during their school years. I strongly support this idea since schooling has a deep impact on the personalities of youngsters.

Youngsters tend to be more impulsive and may overlook hazards associated with irresponsible behaviour on the road. Consequently, they are more prone to speeding, driving while distracted, or attempting to impress their peers. Thus,  if schooling incorporated comprehensive education about safe driving practices into the curriculum, they could gain essential knowledge about road regulations, risk management, and defensive driving well before obtaining a licence. This early preparation in classroom settings would help cultivate a sense of responsibility and caution as this environment has a potential to deliver persuasive  learning, carefully planned and disseminated by teachers.

Furthermore, formal tuition can afford effective environments for influencing long-term attitudes. By using practical workshops, virtual simulations, and analyses of real-life crash scenarios, educators can demonstrate the serious consequences of unsafe driving practices. Such initiatives would not only equip pupils with practical skills but also foster maturity and accountability. To corroborate, a pilot program was initiated in various schools of Finland in 2020, wherein formal syllabus included rendering conceptual knowledge and simulator to prepare learners of middle schools to be rationale drivers, and it has been found that young individuals receiving such education have grown into prudent individuals acting responsibly when sitting behind wheels.

In conclusion, incorporating road safety education into the school system is a constructive step toward decreasing fatalities on roads occurring due to rash driving by young people: these institutions have appropriate resources and enjoy the ability to polish overall persona of young individuals.

Today reckless driving and deaths due to road accidents involving younger people driving automobiles is a growing menace. It has become a dire need to put a check on this problem. There are certain experts who suggest that it will be good idea if this initiative could be taken up by schools to impart training and education on safe driving habits to young generation in their growing years. Some sections though contradict this and feel it is inappropriate.

Adventurous attitude of youth is assumed to be main cause behind present trend of rising road mishaps. As it happens that when these people step into drivable age, they seem to lack proper inputs and training on how to keep roads safe and in their quest for more adventure, they sometimes commit serious mistakes loose their lives. If they could be trained by their educational institution at a very young age, it would not only expose them to basics of road safety norms but also help them to get right attitude needed to drive safely.

Similarly, some social scientists feel that when it is the responsibility of an academic establishment to nurture qualities of a good citizenship in their pupils, then they should also participate in this mission, as safe roads also form a premise of a mature and rational adulthood.

There are strong contradictions to this theory as many have the opinion that teaching children how to drive will be waste of time as this knowledge cannot be put to use until they grow upto 18 years.

To conclude, I would rather say that stricter license issuing norms should be established and schools should be left alone as they have many more issues to address, which are more critical than safe driving.
