Today, TV channels broadcast men’s sports shows more than women’s sport shows. Why is this the case? Should TV channels give equal showtime for each?

Today, TV channels broadcast men’s sports shows more than women’s sport shows.

Why is this the case?

Should TV channels give equal showtime for each?

Why women sports gets lesser time on television

  • There is commercial consideration: men sports has bigger fan following in comparison to women - viewership rating  men’s sports has wormen followers too, but women sports has mostly women followers only
  • More men are into sports than their women counterparts
  • There is huge money involved in men sports in comparison to women  and that is why television prefers men’s sports
  • Conservative attitude of societies force television companies to avoid women sports
Commercial compulsion should be given precedence
  • It may not be profitable

Women should also get more time

  • Women need all the encouragement to engage in this activity:
  • their upliftment
  • sports is emerging as a burgeoning industry that can render employment to millions
  • This will help societies abandon their orthodox attitudes

While sporting events involving men can be frequently seen on television, those featuring women are a rare occurrence. This gender bias is primarily driven by commercial compulsions, but it is the need of the hour to halt this practice to enhance the status of women.

The most common pretext offered for this lopsided attitude is that sporting disciplines featuring males attract colossal investments that are needed to sustain such a money intensive domain and draw profits. It is argued that sports have been traditionally considered the realm of men, and thus, might not stimulate similar interests from the audience, and businesses might circumvent infusing resources into such areas.

However, media attention has always helped invigorate interest in every field, and the same rationale applies to sports: men or women. A majority of male sports like lawn tennis and basketball, evolve and attain prominence. Similarly,  female sections of these sports also developed widespread popularity: they were given equal time in the USA and Europe, allowing events, like Wimbledon championships, featuring women to gain more sponsorships than only male events. Thus, exercising fairness will aid in empowering females, laying open a new employment venue at their disposal.

Additionally, abandoning this discriminatory attitude will enable breaking the stereotype, and induce aspiring young girls to exhibit their sporting skills and physical prowess. This will, consequently, put them at par with men, and force communities to abandon social taboos. To corroborate, telecasting women wrestling matches on Indian television motivated more and more parents to engage their daughters in this sport, and shun orthodox beliefs.

To recap, the lopsided perspective harboured by mediahouses does not highlight the reality; their attention on any domain has made it commercially viable. Therefore, abandoning this prejudice will help female sport become popular and economically sustainable.

Some people feel that the on and off the field behavior of good sportsmen and women does not matter until their performance is good. Do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words with relevant examples.

Some people feel that the on and off the field behavior of good sportsmen and women does not matter until their performance is good. Do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words with relevant examples.

It is generally suggested by some that the professional and personal conduct of in-form players should be overlooked.  However, this notion can be challenged on various grounds.

Those rallying behind embracing a liberal policy propound that the ones excelling in their respective sporting disciplines must be given some room, by virtue of them being under extreme pressure to sustain their fitness and performance, which can sometimes prove to be overwhelming pushing them to act capriciously. Moreover, these individuals, with their sterling performances, boost the reputation of the country at the international level, highlighting youthfulness and its caring approach towards its populace, making them deserving candidates for being pardoned for their approach in all domains.

Nevertheless, the perfection and adroitness displayed by sports personnel does not, in any way, imply that their erratic attitude, on professional or on personal fronts,  can be condoned; they are prominent public figures, enthusiastically idolized by millions of their countrymen, especially the youth, and their unacceptable demeanour can send a wrong signal, prompting  similar responses from society.

Similarly, affording such latitude to anyone it will have severe ramifications for team discipline as well as the reputation of the sports, upsetting several keen/ avid followers of that game. That was the only reason why the celebrated cricketer, and the captain of South African team, Hansie Cronje, was banned for life from cricket, after  he was charged for match fixing: it was done to set a benchmark for future and assert that no such approach would be forgiven.

In hindsight, this recommendation lacks substance, and is likely to produce unwarranted outcomes. Undisciplined conduct, even if by successful sports professionals cannot be accepted as this will adversely impact social environment and other teammates, or counterparts: these noted figures must exhibit civility and noble behaviour.

Many people want their country to host an international sporting event. Others believe that international sporting events bring more problems than benefits. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Many people want their country to host an international sporting event. Others believe that international sporting events bring more problems than benefits. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

In modern times, many argue that hosting an international sports event in their country can be advantageous, but many refute the same by citing that it is more menacing than being beneficial. This essay will shed light on both the aspects and provide a justified conclusion.

To start with, many people believe that hosting an international sports event can be beneficial for their country as it will bring them significant attention and an opportunity to introduce their culture across the globe, their food, and indigenous traditions, which can result in fostering mutual respect among visitors and hosts, and support exchange of views.

Moreover, hosting a mega sports event can bring numerous advantages to a country, such as, developing of new modern infrastructure, in terms of sports facilities and new hotels to accommodate the visitors, opening the way for world leading businesses to invest in the country, thereby creating employment and business opportunities.  In addition to this, this also brings huge tourism to the country, which assists them to motivate their local businesses and create a way for local people to work more in order to gain profit.

However, hosting such tournaments also has some ramifications such as, building new stadiums needs huge land banks for construction, often resulting in deforestation, and disturbing  nature. Similarly, big tourism brings more waste with them, causing pollution. For instance, in 2014,  Brazil hosted the FIFA World Cup, a blockbuster event that left empty stadiums with waste and high maintenance cost, which eventually is being borne by Brazilians.

In hindsight, barring a few drawbacks, such international undertakings render more benefits, and thus, countries should host leading international sports events, in order to provide the best experience to their own people and  motivate them.

Nowadays many young people are drawn towards dangerous sports. What makes them so attractive? What measures should be taken to regulate such sports and minimise the risks?

Nowadays many young people are drawn towards dangerous sports. What makes them so attractive? What measures should be taken to regulate such sports and minimise the risks?

Youngsters are becoming more inclined about enrolling themselves into hazardous sports. This propensity can be attributed to several causes, making it imperative to embrace steps to mitigate dangers associated with such endeavors. I shall elucidate both these aspects in the following paragraphs.

To start with, the most prominent factor driving the propensity is the media. The youth get exposed to entertainment channels and favorite TV actors who explore and perform adventure sports and either make videos or documentaries. These activities make the young audience curious to participate themselves into these endeavors and emulate their idols, and a majority admit following this pattern. For example, a renowned politician recently performed a dangerous sport called scuba diving at Lakshadweep in India, by virtue of this many young individuals got influenced and participated in this game.

Moreover, some do not need any kind of influence to explore these kinds of sports since they are born to experiment with such pursuits to escape from the daily mundane, and obtain unique and thrilling experiences. To corroborate, several participants in white water rafting competitions held in Rishikesh, credit such partaking to their intent to do something unprecedented.

Curtailing hazards associated with these pursuits is possible by adoption of myriad measures. People should adopt certain safety steps as safeguards: gaining certification from formal training, wherein they get a chance to experiment and perform under experts and professionals. Likewise, there should be someone to rescue if there is any kind of emergency: this will help turn these pursuits into safer engagements.

To conclude, there are various media outlets which influence young minds into participating in such hazardous sports, along with self motivation to experience new sports, but the associated hazards can be mitigated by embracing safety measures like formal training and protective gear.

Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

There is a fierce debate going on over the issue that sportspersons are earning more than any important fields. Many are in favour of this difference, while a school of thought opposes this disparity.

To commence with, It is believed by many that players represent the identity of the nation as they make their country proud by winning in international sports events. It encourages a large population, especially youngsters, to start playing sports, or at least exercise to sustain well being, helping establish a sporting culture. For example, as per statistics released by Indira Gandhi Sports Institute, New Delhi, ever since Neeraj Goyat in Athletics won a gold medal in the Olympics 2022, there has been a rise by fifteen percent in individual participation among the Indian youth, which has encouraged local sporting authorities to organize more athletics events. Furthermore, these players dedicate years of hard work and discipline, and are exposed to the risk of disabling injuries, or going out of form, which could end their careers abruptly; therefore, they deserve to earn higher incomes.

However, some resent this and feel that some important professionals like doctors, engineers and scientists are working in the favour of society; by ensuring well-being of society, creating healthy environment, or developing technology and discovering new inventions, or researches for betterment of humankind, but sports personnel only entertain public, and still they are making billions, but the former do not get enough in lieu of their contributions. Thus, this gap must be bridged.

In hindsight, the  outstanding players should be rewarded as they represent their nation and their years of hard work and discipline should not be ignored. However, governments should work to raise the pay of those who are working in crucial sectors, mitigating the income disparity.

Many nations like to host international sporting events, but people are against it. Describe both views and give your own opinion.

Many nations like to host international sporting events, but people are against it. Describe both views and give your own opinion.

Why do nations want to host international sporting carnivals?

1.  To arouse enthusiasm for sports among the local populace: promoting healthy lifestyles, and also highlighting sports as a huge occupational choice

2. Create a huge industry with a potential for employment and business

3.  Putting the country on the world map prominently. *

a.  Increase in tourism

b.  Allowing the world to appreciate  the native point of view

c.   Attracting foreign companies

4.   Flaunting prosperity and  development.

What are the failings of this practice, or rather why are many cynical of this?

1.  Colossal investments go into an event that will just last for a few days, and once the fervor has died down, the locals will be left to pay back the  debt.

2.  Facilities developed do not only lie unused after the events are over, they also waste a lot of invaluable land resources  require a mammoth investment for maintenance

3.  The residents of the host cities must bear the pain for at least a decade preceding the event due to large scale construction and restructuring.

4.  At the time of events also host city dwellers have a hard time due to restrictions.

5.  Pollution levels rise tremendously.

Nowadays, organizing international sports events has become a priority for many nations, but many consider such hosting as unnecessary and a waste of time. I will analyze both the views and share my plausible opinion.

To begin with, hosting international sports events promise bringing in several social benefits. Preparing for such events often improves not only the relations with other nations but also brings people of the nation together. These events promote cultural exchange, when visitors and participants from other countries visit, they interact with the locals creating friendlier relationships. For instance, in 2000 during the Afro-Asian  games  Nigeria gained global  acclaim for its culture and its beautiful countryside. As a result, tourism increased in its country by manifolds over the next few years.

Similarly, these events help promote sporting culture in the country. Youth are generally attracted by observing foreign and their local players compete, which encourages them to embrace their favorite sports as a profession, or at least integrate  daily exercise in their daily lifestyle. For instance, in 1982 commonwealth games were held in Asia where many Indians came out to be participants and this has made it widespread all over the country, which has made people follow a healthy lifestyle.

On the other hand, one of the major concerns is the high cost involved in preparing for these several events. Governments spend a lot of money on constructing venues and upgrading facilities, which may impact the budget and cut essential services like healthcare and education.

In hindsight, while international sports can offer a social awareness but they also carry financial risk.the decision should be made after looking at the both long term and short term basis.

Today, TV channels broadcast more men's sports shows than women’s sport shows. Why is this the case? Should TV channels give equal showtime for each?

Undeniably, there has always been a fierce debate that sports shows of men have always been given priority over that of women. There are several reasons driving this imbalance. I shall critically analyze this matter and elucidate my views regarding equality being allocated to both the genders in the following paragraphs.

To begin with, some profess that since early times the population of men have always been prioritized in all sectors despite the fact that women have excelled in all domains. Therefore, not only family members discriminate against gender but also there are other influencing factors influenced: media, schools and governments, to name a few, paying attention to all domains of males, and giving importance to their performances, skill sets, and efforts. Moreover, females have always been put at second choice positions, and thus, media also gives precedence(preference) sports such as cricket, basketball, and so on, performed by men.

Nevertheless, a school of thought asserts that women have been performing efficiently in all realms, they have been seen working at the highest level of the position in all sectors:  sports, corporate, politics, and fashion industry, among others, at global level, and  hence, deserve the same respect as men do. Affording them similar  air time would promote this branch of sports, and create employment among females, in the form of players, coaches, sports consultants, and so on, not only creating new job venues for this sex but also multiplying economic activity, resulting out of serving the growing requirements of women sports practitioners and their teams.

To hindsight, I vehemently believe that in the contemporary era, equality must be extended to both the genders, in terms of allowing similar times to sporting events to the female branch also: it will help yield rich returns.

There is a fierce debate going on over the issue that sportspersons are earning more than any important fields such as the armed forces, engineers, scientists and medical professionals and so forth. Many are in favour of this difference, while a school of thought opposes this disparity. The following paragraphs shall analyze both aspects and share a plausible outcome.

To commence with, It is believed by many that players represent the identity of the nation as they make their country proud by winning in international sports events. Some people believe that to become successful in sports one should have a natural talent. Others think that perseverance and practice are a crucial part to success. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Some people believe that to become successful in sports one should have a natural talent. Others think that perseverance and practice are a crucial part to success. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Some argue that to excel in sports one should have intuitive traits, while others suggest that constant training and determination are important. I will critically analyse this matter and provide a plausible verdict.

To begin with, inborn qualities can help one to stand apart from the crowd. It has been seen that the most elite players in the world showed their skills like speed, agility, and so on, at a very young age before receiving any formal coaching. They can easily reach optimal performance; due to the strong foundation innate qualities render them, giving/leveraging  them an edge over their counterparts. Recent studies suggest that those equipped with such qualities are likely to reach the pinnacle within a short time as they can easily adapt to their training, separating them from good and great athletes.

However, as it is said, “Practice makes a man perfect”, so reach the peak, many physiologists from around the globe claim that those committing themselves more to training exhibited surge in their skill development within a month, in 2024, they conducted a test on college sprinters, before training they were only capable of running five kilometers in twenty minutes, but after a month of receiving regular training, they easily achieve the same goal within ten minutes. Additionally, this setting can make one not just physically but also mentally stronger; when training with peers the pressure is not only on a single player but on the whole team, which makes them more devoted towards team building, and devising strategies which can be fruitful in competitive matches.

In hindsight, talent and hard work cannot exist without each other; talent can only bring fundamental acumen but to translate those qualities in action, one needs a strong mental resolve, as well as consistent training.

  • What measures should be taken to regulate such sports and minimise the risks?

  • What makes them so attractive?

Nowadays many young people are drawn towards dangerous sports.

Causes

  • The youth of today wants to explore something that has not been done: man has discovered the whole planet

  • It is human propensity to seek adventure: which can only happen if something unorthodox is done.

  • An  inclination to hog the limelight is pulling more and more into such activities

  • The recklessness and the intent to address the adrenaline rush is pushing many into such activities

What measures can mitigate the risks?

  • The state should ensure that such acts are performed under the watchful eyes of trained experts

  • Quality training gear should be mandated

  • Proper training should be imparted  to probable practitioners by qualified trainers

  • Proper safeguards should be adopted and deployed

  • Practitioners should be enlightened about the associated perils.

In the modern world, the youth is embracing extreme sports such as paragliding, bungee jumping and many more. This trend is driven by myriads of reasons. I would elaborate all the plausible causes, as well as suggest measures to alleviate the risks.

The  media plays a vital role in pushing the youngsters to engage in such endeavors as it presents numerous entertainment videos and the celebrities who take part in these activities, and upload their video clips. This makes the young audience curious, and promotes them to indulge in such acts. In addition to this, to hog the limelight, especially on social media, forces the youngsters to participate in these activities that have hazards, but are thrilling too since it will fetch them fame and fortune. To corroborate, a survey has been undertaken by Miss Celia proves this: most of the participants partake in the adventurous sporting activities virtue of the prize money involved as well as a chance to get fan following on the internet.

To mitigate threats involved in such sports, some prudent measures should be adopted. The organizations conducting such events should provide the partakers with appropriate training and ensure taking safeguards at the time of the procedure. Similarly,  they should take the onus of maintaining safety levels such as using standardized equipment, hiring experienced and qualified trainers, and performers to make sure that when such activities are performed,  the participants are well-informed about the process and safety measures, and do sports under expert monitoring.

To recap, as extreme sporting undertakings offer excitement and happiness to the young people, the latter will definitely get involved in such acts. Therefore, the companies concerned should deliver all the safety equipment and the training to participants to overcome the chances of accidents during the event.

Nowadays many young people are drawn towards dangerous sports. What makes them so attractive? What measures should be taken to regulate such sports and minimize the risks?

There is a rising inclination towards adventurous activities like skydiving, rock climbing, and so on, among the youth. This essay will elucidate the attributes that contribute to this tendency, and suggest precautions that should be taken to mitigate jeopardies/mishaps.

There are several factors that drive this trend: the young generation has always remained curious to experience unprecedented thrill that give them a purpose in life. Therefore, they practice these sports that provide contentment and happiness as has been elicited by a survey conducted in Rishikesh, India, that nearly forty percent of young participants were drawn to these endeavors due to their intent to do something radical, not done by anyone in their preceding generation.

Also, many are influenced by celebrities through movies, advertisements, and so on, persuading them to participate in these undertakings. To exemplify, the renowned actor Hritik Roshan recently climbed to the highest peak in Siachen, and this motivated several young individuals from Himachal Pradesh to emulate to exhibit that they had a similar passion as their idol.

The perils associated with such sporting endeavors can be alleviated by espousing/adopting/embracing/integrating certain prudent steps: the state should conduct quality checks of the gears and the venues where these activities are performed: it will help to erect safeguards against the uncertainties. Additionally, proper lessons should be imparted to the staff, and  practical tests for them should be stipulated. Also, participants must be trained about taking precautions while performing these pursuits. Moreover, the undertaking and facts should be signed and acknowledged by those performing such dangerous acts.

To conclude, undeniably, young people will not abandon the idea of exploring new things, especially those challenging their safety. Thus, governments and concerned authorities should act wisely by adopting judicious policies to reduce the jeopardies connected with these sports.

Some people feel that the on and off the field behavior of good sportsmen and women does not matter until their performance is good. Do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words with relevant examples.

Do you agree or disagree?
  • Professional or personal and  public conduct of outstanding players should be ignored
  • Agree? Why do we agree with this  Why should their attitude should not be monitored
  • They are also humans, and when they face so much stress to sustain their form , they are expected to lose their cool
  • **They, with their sterling performances, bring name and fame for the country, and also present the society as being youthful and caring for its people.
  • They encourage and inspire others, especially the youth to take up sports as a career or a way to stay healthy
  • They are a pivotal factor of a  burgeoning industry that is generating direct and indirect employment and business for millions, besides the revenue for governments

Disagree? Why do we disagree?

  • These people, by virtue of being public idols have a profound influence on the attitudes of their fan following which can have a negative impact on those who follow the precedents of such celebrated people
  • Their behavior can affect the overall discipline of team which can hamper performance of others, as well as of team
  • **National image is affected adversely

Playing sports is a daunting endeavor that demands physical and mental workout that sometimes brings out extreme behaviour in the professional, social  and personal realms, and some believe that it should be overlooked if players concerned are excelling.I fail to accede to this suggestion completely, and will share plausible views in the further paragraph.

At the outset, those advocating such liberal approach propose that sports practitioners are also humans with feelings, and sometimes during the game, emotions overwhelm them due to immense pressure to perform and sustain their rhythm despite facing obstacles, which can lead to losing cool. Moreover, they encourage and inspire the youth to take sports as a career, or way to stay healthy, thereby promoting sporting culture in the nation. For example, Brazil owes its popularity of football culture to its star players, and thus affords them umpteen privleges.

Having said that, the view of apologists cannot be upheld since these people are public idol, and represent millions of faces in the game, and also influence the aspirations of their countrymen, and thus, unacceptable attitude - whether  practiced while playing, or in social or personal domains - would  create an unprecedented environment, and deliver a negative impact on their followers, especially youngsters, persuading them to emulate unrestricted and unwarranted conduct. Moreover, such behavior could impact the team discipline by bringing negativity that could cost them the whole game: other players would not be able to focus on the winning, bringing bad name to the sports itself.

To conclude, even if one is excelling in their sporting discipline, their erratic behaviour should not be condoned, by virtue of them being a prominent face in sports that stimulates others to, therefore their inappropriate way of behaving cannot be tolerated.

Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair.

Are outstanding players justified in their multitude of earnings?

Yes? Why

  • They forgo their comfort and make sacrifices for sustaining their forms

  • They are a part of the volatile profession: going out of form and an injury can end their careers abruptly

  • Their careers span over a decade and a half - after which they must switch their professions

  • They raise the stakes of the nation on the global level with their sterling performances, and improve opinion about society, it being caring for its people.

  • They motivate millions to take up healthy regimes and some to take up sports as careers

  • They are a critical component of an industry that is generating employment for millions and business worth billions; and governments also gross revenues through taxes imposed on resulting activities.

  • Consumer companies gross huge revenues: in tune of billions  by using their popularity, what is wrong in the earnings of these people

No? Why

The astronomical compensation of accomplished sports practitioners has been under critical scanner by virtue of many terming it as warranted, and others considering it as an injustice meted out to those in other occupations.

There is strong support for the sky-high earnings of outstanding players; they are working in a volatile occupation where their place and performance depends on their form and fitness. To sustain this, they must relentlessly  subject themselves to physical and mental hardships, and during the course, they must also make sacrifices, in terms of their personal and social life and comforts.

Similarly, they are also exposed to the risk of going out of form, or injuries, which can bring their careers to an abrupt halt, leaving them with little resources to earn their livelihood. Additionally, one can hardly ignore the fact that their shelf life spans over a decade and half, after which, they must switch professions, where a similar success is not guaranteed. Therefore, the notion behind their astronomical compensations being justified seems quite viable.

Nonetheless, the other lobby is quite critical of such a gap: they feel that those employed in other occupations work equally hard and sometimes, even devote their life to the  cause of society; however, they never get their dues and some are found struggling to make their ends meet. For instance, doctors first commit umpteen years to gain qualification, and thereafter they use all their talent to save the lives of the ailing. Similarly, soldiers and law enforcement officers risk their lives for the sake of society, but rarely are acknowledged for their contribution. As per this lobby, this difference should be blurred.

Overall, even though it is true that other people engaged in occupations other than sports should also get their due, the salaries of established sports professionals are quite appropriate, for they make an unprecedented contribution to society.

Nowadays many young people are drawn towards dangerous sports. What makes them so attractive? What measures should be taken to regulate such sports and minimize the risks?

Nowadays many young people are drawn towards dangerous sports. What makes them so attractive? What measures should be taken to regulate such sports and minimize the risks?

In recent years, youngsters have developed a fascination for sporting activities, such as bungee jumping, snorkeling that have inherent hazards. Several factors contribute to the allure of these activities, but safety concerns must be addressed to mitigate potential dangers.

The most plausible reason driving this inclination lies in the extraordinary characteristics of such endeavors. The thrill of facing and overcoming fear, combined with the intent to endure physical and mental challenges appeals to youngsters the most, fetching them unprecedented excitement when they successfully accomplish a daunting task. Similarly,   many are persuaded to earn the satisfaction of conquering danger and uncertainty: something irresistible.

Additionally, with the rise of social media, youngsters are further motivated to participate in such activities to capture and share their thrilling experience with others, seeking validation and admiration. For instance, athletes like Manu Kohli, a professional motorsports competitor known for his extreme stunts, admits inspiring many of his young followers to explore similar activities.

Despite the appeal, sports that present a certain level of danger come with inherent risks, including serious injury or death. To alleviate these perils, effective regulations and safety measures must be embraced. There should be mandatory training and certification for participants. For example, before engaging in undertakings like skydiving or scuba diving, extensive training under professional supervision should be stipulated. This will arm participants with necessary safeguards. Also, safety standards of equipment should be strict and constantly monitored. Establishments hosting such pursuits should be held accountable for maintaining appropriate safety levels and ensuring that participants are properly bolstered.

In conclusion, while dangerous sports offer an undeniable sense of excitement and accomplishment, regulating these through proper training and equipment checks is crucial for alleviating risks and protecting participants.

Some people say that playing sports helps to prepare children for their future work, while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people say that playing sports helps to prepare children for their future work, while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Why do some feel that sports can help children prepare for their future work?

Why do some deny it?

  • Important life skills - how to work hard, carry themselves, take care of their belongings

  • Learn about  Discipline and working within the norms

  • teamwork / perform individually and also ability to pursue goals alone or in team

  • Social skills

  • Using their leisure time productively instead of interacting with technology and  following a sedentary lifestyle

  • Physical and mental robustness

Why do others deny this?

  • It is just a leisure time activity for youngsters: an activity which only makes them create noise, exert on field, but as soon as they are off the field, they forget everything

  • Academic and other curricular activities have greater relevance in their development

Many perceive that sporting activities train juveniles for a successful adult life, whereas others reject this notion. The following paragraphs shall critically analyze this matter and emanate a justified conclusion.

Participating in sporting domains such as football, hockey, cricket and badminton, to name a few, tutor youngsters to lead a disciplined life since they must follow a strict regimen, in terms of diet, exercise and practice, along with following the rules and norms of the game, inculcating a propensity of regulating their behavior and routine. To exemplify, a study conducted to assess the impact of integrating sports in school curriculum on individuals across the world found that taking part in these endeavors in formative years influenced the conduct of individuals positively/ favorably that reflected in their interaction with surroundings while driving, waiting in queues, and so on.

Similarly, partaking in these undertakings can foster a never say die attitude in growing minds and teach them never to surrender in the face of adversities, and instead strive to find ways to surmount challenges, and attain success. The key takeaway of doing individual, or team, sports gaining access to the knowledge of making strategies to win.
