Nowadays more and more older people who are looking for work have to compete with younger people for the same jobs

It is commonly observed today that those above 55 are predisposed to cut-throat competition from their younger counterparts. This has made them vulnerable to umpteen complications, making it imperative to discover panacea for this predicament.

The most prominent of the troublesome circumstances resulting out of this phenomenon is that the elderly are left out of the fray by virtue of being oblivious to modern  technology and methods, something the younger generation is quite familiar with: the current curriculum involves disseminating knowledge about these methods. To corroborate, most companies, world over, prefer to hire personnel who are tech savvy and friendly with up-to-date working procedures, and the older generation stands a rare chance to be selected for such jobs.

Moreover, this is predisposing the older generation to extreme struggles as they have to rely on either part time work - that rarely helps them make  their ends meet, or survive on their savings, resulting in financial troubles, and forcing them to survive in extreme penury. To exemplify, post pandemic, when most businesses started hiring personnel, they selectively choose healthier young workers; consequently, many seniors had to sell their belongings, or do menial jobs to scrape a living.

Overcoming this challenge is possible provided policymakers take pragmatic steps: affording free of cost training to those above 50, so that the latter can get on a level playing field; and use the upgraded knowledge to be deemed as eligible. Similarly, employers should be persuaded to alter their hiring strategies and allocate equal priority to the experience besides adroitness in modern ways of working.

Overall, the stiff competition being  posed by young job aspirants is making the older workers prone to unemployment and impoverishment, and to ameliorate this, the state should intervene and afford free education and modify certain norms.

In many societies, there is a growing emphasis on sustainable living and reducing environmental impact. What are the challenges of adopting a sustainable lifestyle? What practical actions can individuals take to contribute to sustainability?

Despite widespread awareness about the relevance of environmentally friendly lifestyles among, embracing such ways is proving to be onerous. This can be attributed to several causes, making it imperative to discover panacea at individual level.

The most prominent of the impediments facing this task is the tremendous increment in the population, generating greater demands for shelter, food, industrialization and other amenities, to name a few, thereby engendering a stiff competition for facilities and goods, exacerbating the exploitation of natural resources such as minerals, wood, and so on, and impacting the environment adversely. Moreover, even though inhabitants are adequately enlightened and are willing to switch to eco-friendly ways, they lack access to expertise and resources that can  be deployed to allow such transformation.

Additionally, several businesses are more concerned about financial benefits and less inclined to fulfilling corporate social responsibility - owing to economic pressures, and tend to use cheaper alternatives, in terms of energy sources and raw material, derived from the nature, instead of opting for greener fuels and applying concepts of recycling, in order to augment their profitability, precipitating adverse impact and offsetting any gains made in making environment sustainable.

Nevertheless, in order to turn  the table on adversities, the populace at large should don the mantle by minimizing consumption, wastage and unsustainable ways such as excessive use of fossil fuels. It has been established by various researches that if one starts to act at their own device and limit their habits of overshopping; wasting water, electricity and other essential resources like food; and stop unnecessary usage of cars, things can go a long way.

Overall, the expanding population, lack of expertise and greed to earn higher returns are impeding switching to eco-friendly ways of life, nonetheless everyone can play their part by exercising  restraint.

Light pollution (excessive light during night time) is a form of pollution that distresses many people, especially in modern cities. What are the causes of light pollution, and what solutions can you suggest for governments and businesses to take?

In the contemporary era, a new form of pollution has emerged in urbanised locations owing to the utilisation of lights intensively. This essay shall discuss the reasons behind this phenomenon and render some proposals for the state to surmount this growing issue.

This sort of pollution can be attributed to several factors. The incessantly rising crimes, especially in the metropolitan areas has turned the authorities quite apprehensive by virtue of which they install a plethora of lights to keep streets, alleys and even main roads well illuminated to mitigate the incidents of burglary, mugging and several other horrific crimes which usually takes place during the night. Moreover, the spiralling need to stay in limelight forces companies to slog hard round the clock in order to attain visibility among their targeted audience which  leads them install large well illuminated billboards and their signboards that emanate bright luminescence, and over and above using of intensive lighting to keep the factories well lit to enable the workforce to work and produce day and night to meet/satiate the growing demand.

Besides this, urbanites are influenced prominently by night life; therefore, they indulge themselves extensively in celebrations, during the night, such as marriages, parties, get-togethers, and so on owing to which they decorate their surroundings with a variety of lights, thereby emitting pollution in great amounts.

However, the panacea for this predicament can only be found by the joint efforts of the policy makers as well as the enterprises. Government should enact laws and escalate police patrolling at night to render secure surroundings to the urbanites exempted from all sorts of offences so that the support of lights can be abandoned and fears overcome. Furthermore, businesses should employ efficient machinery and manpower as well, to accomplish the work during the day time to avoid the hazardous emissions in the form of light. They should also volunteer to limit the number of hours they light up gigantic hoardings and signboards.

To reiterate, I feel even though light pollution, especially in the urban locales  is surely a growing and a worrying problem, it can be mitigated easily, provided that the state as well as companies don the mantle to curb this ecological disaster by deploying appropriate initiatives, and extend a safe environment to the society.

However, the panacea for this predicament can only be found by the efforts of researchers, environmentalists and the state. They should don the mantle to innovate alternate sources of energy which are efficient as well as reasonable to substitute the present forms of fuel owing to which the travellers are forced to pay phenomenal prices and also, which are quite detrimental to the environment. Furthermore, prudence must be exercised in creating a smart load sharing between diverse modes of mass commute so as to make them compliment each other rather than competitors.

It is being noticed that students do not study as intensively in university as they used to do in schools. What are the causes of this change? What could be done to improve the situation?

Nowadays, an intriguing phenomenon is being witnessed that learners do not tend to devote as much time at universities to studies as they did during schooling. This essay shall delve into the reasons behind this change and propose some solutions.

Due to the immense pressure experienced during their school days for achieving good grades to grab opportunities for higher studies in renowned colleges, learners relinquish their social connections, by virtue of which, they do not get adequate time to enjoy and have pleasures in their lives. When they get enrolled in varsity courses, they attempt to make up for the time lost in schools by indulging themselves in fun activities, thereby losing focus.

Similarly, a sense of freedom is another factor behind losing interest and enthusiasm for studies while going to varsities. Furthermore, tender minds get highly influenced by their peers while experiencing freedom laden college life since they do not get monitored stringently by their parents and teachers as well, and top of that, no compulsion of attendance in a plethora of institutions is also fueling this trend, as it renders them leverage to enjoy to the fullest.

Having said that, the panacea for this predicament, as suggested by various expert behavior theorists, could be found by the joint efforts of parents and varsities. Higher institutions should organise regular workshops to keep young minds occupied in academics, preventing pupils from straying from their focus. Moreover, creating campaigns for orientation could benefit by enlightening them about striking a balance between their education and enjoyment. Parents can contribute by allowing the wards to pursue their hobbies along with the studies since this helps them take a break from their monotonous schedules and keeps their scheduled tasks interesting.

To reiterate, it is true that learners lose their sense of direction after joining university courses and tend to devote less time to their academic objectives, but a little prudent approach can help mend the things and put them back on track.

Nowadays children are consuming too many sugar based drinks, what are the reasons and solutions for this situation? Discuss and give reasons for your answer in at least words.

In the contemporary era, the intake of beverages with high sugar content among youngsters has been spiralling out of control. This essay shall delve into the reasons behind this trend, and propose initiatives to resolve it.

Advertisements have been primarily blamed for the rising craving among the young ones for sweetened drinks. Nowadays, markets are flooded with ads of a wide array of these drinks with different flavours, brands, prices, and so on. Their influence is being consolidated by commercials that overwhelm tender minds and push them to consume such drinks. Furthermore, they are endorsed by the child celebrities which makes them more eye-catching thereby, escalating the desires of young ones to buy them.

In addition to above, parents are the role models to their wards. The children have immature minds and cannot distinguish right from wrong, they simply try to emulate their mothers and fathers. When these young ones observe them enjoying beverages with high sugar content, they end up following their footsteps without giving a second thought, to get to know about the taste owing to their cravings and unknowingly become habitual of them.

There are a plethora of solutions to alleviate this problem. Parents can take the initiatives to make their wards comprehend by not indulging themselves in the intake of such sweetened drinks, thereby setting a precedent for them.  Due to the innate imitative behaviour of the young minds, this would help alleviate their longing of trying such drinks. Moreover, elders should enlighten their wards about the detrimental effects of consuming sugar based drinks.

To reiterate, I feel even though excessive consumption of sugary beverages by youngsters is surely a growing and a worrying problem, it can be surmounted easily provided parents take the initiative and limit their own consumption.

Regular exercise is often considered to be related to wellness. However, in the contemporary era, individuals in metropolitan areas find it difficult to get themselves involved in physical exercises or workout. This essay will discuss the causes behind this propensity, as well as propose the solutions to overcome them.

Nowadays, in order to climb the corporate ladder, city dwellers have started overburdening themselves with professional endeavors. To realise their aspirations, they often push themselves to set-up unrealistic goals which leads to immense pressure; consequently, resulting in gruelling work schedules, by virtue of which they find it difficult to find time from their hectic work regimes, thereby depriving themselves of physical activities.

Furthermore, the deteriorating condition of air in the cities compels individuals to stay indoors in a safer atmosphere to avoid health hazards borne by polluted air, making them bereft of chances to exert physically.

However, the panacea for these predicaments can only be found by the joint efforts of the government and employers. The state should take radical initiatives to curb the environmental problems to render the urbanites a secure surrounding so that they could follow their fitness regimes. Employers should organise awareness campaigns to enlighten the working professionals about the prominence of exercise and motivate them to incorporate physical fitness to their routines by alleviating work-loads and targeting achievable goals.

Overall, health is of paramount importance and to achieve wellness urban dwellers should indulge themselves in regular exercise. Avoiding this can have undesirable consequences on their physical and mental wellbeing.
