Examination Pressure

The procedure of assessing and evaluating knowledge has always courted several controversies and the society has always lived at poles on this issue. Some experts feel that the assessment process being followed under the current education system hampers creativeness of the teaching faculties of educational establishments and also pressurizes pupils, however many sections hold contrary views
 Ielts Essay
The examination system has led the educational institutions to shift their focus from imparting useful and practical knowledge to the outcomes in form of percentages attained by the pupils. No more do managements of schools feel that real objective of education is actually to gain knowledge and excellence. This policy has forced the tutors to rigorously concentrate on imparting curriculum in a manner that helps the pupils to score higher. This leaves little time for pedagogues to apply innovative techniques of determining the weakness and strength areas of the students.

Besides killing the creativity of the teachers, the current assessment system also resulting in undue stress on the students as the kids must always follow the strict and tight training schedules which in turns forces them to stick to their  study routines. Excessive class work coupled with loads of homework leaves kids with little time to participate in extra-curricular activities. This can adversely affect mental and physical growth of growing children.

On the other hand, many people present strong arguments in favor of examinations. As per them, without a proper examination system in place, it would not be possible to gauge depth of knowledge gained by the students and similarly, it would make teachers complacent towards their obligations.  They feel that only regular assessments can ensure better learning.

In conclusion, I feel that although exams have become nightmare for many, they still remain an essential component of educational policies.

Education is the single most important factor in the development of a developing country. To what extent do you agree or disagree? - Ielts essay

Education is the single most important factor in the development of a developing country. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Today, experts are exploring ways of developing marginalized nations. They enumerate certain factors, which play prominent role in advancement. In their list of priorities, education appears on the top. However, others feel this factor alone can take a society forward.

Educating masses can help in churning out acumen and expertise in disparate trades, in turn, aiding in enhancing job preparedness. Undeniably, literate inhabitants stand a better chance of gaining well-compensated employment, in sectors critical to economic progress. Beyond this, those with enterprising attitudes often venture into establishing businesses, thereby not only generating employment but also generous amounts of financial resources.  To corroborate, as literacy rates climbed in China, more and more individuals like Jack Ma, forayed into initiating their own businesses like Alibaba.com, that produced more openings for skilled expertise.

Besides creating skill pool, this element also plays a critical role in engendering rational thinking. the enlightened populace has broader perspectives and positive thinking and is encouraged to shun many evils: superstition and ghetto attitudes, helping them adapt to changing global paradigm. Likewise, dearth of illiteracy also guarantees better health index, and thus, assist in achieving the goals of prosperity.

On the contrary, some feel that education alone cannot guarantee affluence, and countries require other crucial ingredients: stable government policies and preparedness of locals in pursuing and adapting to culture bolstering development. For instance, India, even after having a fair level of literacy is struggling to develop itself, because the successive regimes have failed to afford stable policies, and citizens are still ill-prepared to abandon their conservative thinking.

In conclusion, I feel even though education is an essential parameter for progress, it is cannot single-handedly lead to triumph on all fronts: other aspects such as governance and wealth, have an equal weightage.

Money has been an important factor of human life although the ages, and it has always been the central issue of family and social life. The parents feel that it is important for the growing kids to learn about earning, spending and saving money. They continue with this endeavor like their ancestors have done by passing on the wisdom onto the next generations. Furthermore, as the families become nuclear and adults get busier with work, they try to compensate their absence by offering extra money to the kids. Some people say that there should be a single official international language. Others oppose to this idea. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. - Ielts essay

With trade, travel and business rising rapidly across the globe, the world is becoming a smaller place to live. Some people have started comparing the current scenario to a global village. This aspect has prompted some people to raise demands for a single global language, but some sections are averse to this idea.

In the current scenario, the bi-lateral trade and multilateral trade is expanding rapidly across the planet. The business communities are therefore demanding adopting a universal official language. Many sections of the trading communities feel that enacting a universal linguistic code world would certainly help in removing many hurdles, as the representatives of companies from different parts of the world would be in a position to communicate clearly. As per them, using a common international language would encourage and boost the business environment and would bring benefits to all participating parties, countries and ultimately the human society.

Moreover, imposing a single language would also assist in the proliferation of standardized education across the planet. People from diverse cultures and backgrounds would be able to access standardized educational resources to boost their skills, for instance English has been adopted as a common language of instruction in numerous varsities across the world.

On the contrary, a big lobby of conservationists and purists which vouches for retention of linguistic diversity feels adopting a single language is not only impractical, but it would also threaten the local and native languages. They feel that cultures are closely associated with their native languages and substituting local languages with a single language would lead to extermination of  indegeneous social values and customs.

In conclusion, I personally feel that although, the fears allayed by the conservationists are true to some extent, the adoption of uniform global language would bring numerous advantages.

Should retirement be compulsory at 65 years of age? - IELTS Essay

Ielts Essay - Reture at 65?

Off late, many social thinkers and scientists have started questioning validity of retirement age. Some sections strongly feel that retiring people at the age of 65 is fully justified, but some of the experts hold a strong viewpoint that challenges the very existence of retirement age.

The people, who vouch for upholding of retiring age at 65 years, suggest that, as human body and mind age up, they degenerate rapidly. The degeneration process reduces the capacity of the body as well as the brain to sustain energy levels required to keep a person active and energetic. The reduced energy levels pose serious hurdles in the way of efficient working. This factor can hamper the productivity of a person adversely. Retiring people at this stage is thus fully justified, and substituting them with younger and more active people is a way to sustain higher productivity.

Besides human body reaching performance limitations, retiring older people at the age of 65, is considered a good step, as this can create space for younger generation. Many social experts feel that, if the aged workers are not relieved of their duties then younger generation would not be able to gain employment, and garner valuable expertise. Moreover, after passing through a strenuous work routine, older people also deserve a chance to relax.

On other hand,   many experts feel that, retiring old workers is not a justifiable step. Relieving people of their obligations at a stage, when they have achieved perfection, is quite unwarranted. The senior personnel constantly struggle and sacrifice for companies and organizations, and when they arrive at a commanding stage, the organization must not abandon them.

In the end, I feel that although, retirement is a necessary exercise, seniors should be allowed to continue, if they feel so.

Some companies are closing theiroffices one day per week to save energy (gas, electricity). What are theadvantages and disadvantages of this?

Nowadays, saving on energy, and financial outlay of expenses connected with the consumption of power is on the top priority for many organizations. This has given rise to a strange trend among the organizations, as they have resorted to keeping a day-off at their office premises. The trend has attracted a debate among many experts, who discuss several benefits and drawbacks  of this new development. IELTS TEST ESSAY

Some of the benefits of offering holiday at the work to make some savings on energy include reducing the per capita consumption of utilities, like electricity and gas. As per some experts,  the reduction in the per person consumption of the electricity and the gas helps the companies and the organizations in reducing financial expenditure, which in turn leads to optimization of operations. As per them, saving on energy bills means saving money.   IELTS TEST ESSAY

Besides saving money, reducing the consumption by keeping a weekly-off at offices help in minimizing the consumption of the natural resources, because facilities generating electricity and gas utilize a huge amount of naturally occurring materials like oil and coal, etc.. Many companies are taking similar steps to help in conserving natural resources. Such steps form a part of the green initiative. IELTS TEST ESSAY

On the contrary, some people feel, closing down offices for a day in a week has more drawbacks than the benefits. The savings made on the power consumption by keeping an off-day are easily offset by a comparative increase in power consumption on the other days, because the companies are forced to extend the working hours to compensate for the man hours lost  in keeping a day-off at the premises. IELTS TEST ESSAY

In conclusion, I feel that keeping a weekday off at the offices always advantageous, and it greatly helps in bringing down the financial outlay on the power bills. IELTS TEST ESSAY
