These days, the issue of international marketing has grown its importance, especially in the world of manufacturing facilities and even education overseas or across the globe. While others believe that this would mean invasion and intrusion into the country’s traditional ways.

In the contemporary globalised world, marketing initiatives have transcended political and geographical boundaries. While some consider this development to be quite favorable, others fear that this might cause dilution of native ways of life. I feel the concerns expressed are lacking in substance; this trend is creating opportunities for many.

Those skeptical of this trend allege that it is going to interfere with local lifestyles, causing a clash between the age-old customs followed by a society and modern aspirations that are more global in nature, and persuading people, especially the youth, to abandon their beliefs. As per them, such activities tend to promote practices, attitudes, festivals and way of celebrations, among others, of cultures from where  such establishments hail. For example, many working or studying in such institutions complain about their festivals and holidays being ignored, and being persuaded to celebrate  international events.

However, the former view is not well-founded because whenever any institution markets itself, it always assimilates with local populace to enhance their appeal and create a niche for themselves. Moreover, these endeavors are bolstering trade and employment because when an enterprise expands its outreach in the world, it creates more business and jobs for both: the hosts and the home country. Similarly, this is helping disseminate globally-accepted skills to students across the world, helping create a parity among inhabitants of various countries, which translates into greater opportunities for well-compensated jobs. Many credit their professional achievements to this system: it has exposed them to globally-acknowledged academic resources.

In hindsight, although complications such as cultures being impacted detrimentally by being side-lined, have been observed, international marketing has been overwhelmingly favorable by virtue of engendering economic opportunities for entrepreneurs and professionals, and aspiring students, but Striking a balance between both could help harness benefits.

All types of advertising should be banned because they are damaging to society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

All types of advertising should be banned because they are damaging to society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

A general perception of contemporary times is aligned with a view that there should be an embargo on all kinds of adverts since they provoke harmful practices. I partially agree with this perspective and shall discuss in the following paragraphs.

Some propound that adverts have an unfavorable influence, especially on the younger generation. This is to say, young minds are beguiled by the virtual and tempting presentation of fast food, laden with high levels of saturated fat; consequently, pushing them into over-eating, making them corpulent.  Moreover, the multitude of ads being pushed to the consumers are unregulated, forcing many to squander money on purposeless and unintentional purchases. For example, a recent study revealed that there has been a dramatic increment in the mindless spending; similar products are portrayed on screens repeatedly making them buy unconsciously and without need.

However, many debunk these allegations, and feel that adverts hold an imperative place: they act as a medium of disseminating information. The campaign of Polio vaccine national televisions and newspapers in India,  helped engender extensive awareness, persuading citizens to join hands in eradicating this deadliest disease. Thus, proscribing ads will make people oblivious of this ailment, allowing it  to bounce back. Similarly, the world of media creates employment for many: directors, acoustic technicians, actors, and so forth; consequently, augmenting the employment index every year. To corroborate, in Japan, The House of Usher, a multinational advertising company, renders employment to thousands, thereby decreasing unemployment levels.

In conclusion, considering the aforementioned views, one must weigh the consequences of prohibiting publicity since these act as information channels and support many by providing jobs. Therefore, only unnecessary adverts promoting unhealthy habits and extravagance must be curtailed, while the ones that fulfill the purpose of spreading awareness should be allowed to continue.

The astronomical sales being achieved by the consumer companies depicts the power of advertisement, rather than the need of the society where they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words

The astronomical sales being achieved by the consumer companies depicts the power of advertisement, rather than the need of the society where they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words

Nowadays, many people believe that most of the sales are driven by ads, whereas  some disagree. The following paragraphs shall assess this matter critically, before arriving at a justified conclusion.

Sales are often assumed to be driven by advertisements since these play a powerful role in shaping consumer behaviour. They are manipulative and influence people by creating a desire by presenting products in an appealing manner. Moreover, advertising is carefully planned according to specific market segments to create a niche for products. For instance, many juveniles get attracted by promotional videos not because of the quality of products, but because of the colour blend,  animations and famous characters, such as Ironman, used for promotion.

Moreover, celebrity pull cannot be ignored. They use popular faces: stars, players, and actors, to attract their followers with a motive to persuade devoted fans to emulate their idols and make purchases. For instance, famous sports personality Sachin Tendulkar endorsed energy drink brand Boost, which resulted in millions buying this product.

However, it is completely wrong to mention that total sales are driven by adverts. The  major factor behind the sale is the rapid increment of population which has automatically resulted in high demand for goods and services. In addition, modern society has adopted the use and throw culture: they use something and discard it and go in for the new purchase. For instance, as per a study carried out by the Spiegel, in 2024, clothing and electronic devices are used only for two years and discarded by a majority, and people procure fresh goods.

In hindsight, disputes aside, I partially concur with the argument that sales depend on the adverts only since there are other factors such as rising population and consumerism in the play, which define consumer attitudes.

Some people believe advertisements are useful and informative, others says they provide wrong information which leads to rise of goods prices. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people believe advertisements are useful and informative

In contemporary times, commercials are granted paramount importance due to their ability to inform audiences quickly; however, others oppose this view and assert that this medium misleads the latter and adds up to an unnecessary cost which can be avoided. In this essay, I will elucidate both perspectives in the subsequent paragraphs.

A prominent school of thought propounds that ads help educate the public about a new product by disseminating information about its uses and benefits, in an innovative form - deploying graphics in the form of pictures and videos - which further informs consumers about the usefulness of the promoted merchandise. There have been several specimens of adverts that actually do not only share the information about a product but also carry inputs regarding how using it can benefit people.

Moreover, one can hardly deny that advertising is a means that can penetrate any market and reach to the audience, regardless of the geographical locations and distances involved. This exposes people to new launches that they can use to afford convenience and also improve the quality of their life. For instance, publicity of lifestyle and health products have successfully enlightened millions about their possible benefits and created a demand for the same, which has forced dealers to make the same available easily.

Nevertheless, this medium of spreading the word about a product has become a subject of indignation of critics: they bemoan the aggressive use of such a tool as it leads to augmenting of the prices of goods exponentially. It is a ubiquitous practice of hiring services of great influencers like actors, singers, and sports persons: masses blindly follow these social icons and catapult themselves into a buying spree without realizing the actual use of goods. However, the darker side of such endeavors is the costs involved in producing adverts - involving the fee of the celebrities endorsing goods, preparing material for the ads, hiring services of professionals who design and direct advertising campaigns, and above all, hiring modes where the planned publicity would feature - are colossal, which eventually will be borne  by consumers in the form of hiked prices.

Overall, after assessing both the views, I feel even though there is some substance in the view that derides the use of ads, it will be almost an uphill task to reach the targeted audience without this tool. Therefore, come what may, ads cannot be avoided and will continue to rule the roost.
