Nowadays, more people move away from their friends and families for work. Does this development have more advantages or disadvantages?

Merits

  • One can access better work opportunities:

    • better compensation,

    • faster career growth

    • Great job satisfaction

  • One can  focus on the work dedicatedly

  • Build resilience and broaden horizons, making one resourceful by allowing one to forge wider professional network

  • Afford better facilities to their loved ones back home

Demerits

  • It can strain personal relations

  • Cause alienation with children and relatives

  • One cannot be a part of celebrations of moments of sorrows

  • This can also cause homesickness

Historically, humans have been shifting to other regions in search of livelihood leaving loved ones back home, but in recent times, this phenomenon has gained momentum, making it imperative to ascertain whether it fetches more merits than demerits.

Intro 2

Contemporary times are witnessing rising incidence of shifting to other regions, away from loved ones, in search of better livelihood. Even though this offers myriad merits, the demerits associated with this phenomenon are hard to disregard.

To begin with, this practice can prove to be extremely rewarding in the form of affording abundant opportunities for rapid career progression. One does not only become vulnerable to better and broader employment openings but also greater job satisfaction, and higher  compensation. When one moves to bigger cities, they are exposed to a wealth of openings laid at their disposal by a slew (variety) of large organisations offering jobs as per skills, and wages that are the best in industry, and they are  not impeded by family obligations. For instance, software specialists relocating to an IT hub independently: Bangalore, or Silicon Valley, from their hometown can easily access top-notch IT firms: IBM, Apple, TCS, and so forth, and gain higher salaries, guaranteeing unparalleled financial growth and stability, without needing to address family concerns.

Moreover, this arrangement allows humongous  savings; when they migrate alone, they do not need to pay out of their nose to arrange accommodation, and other facilities, for their expenditure as an individual will be negligible and the resources preserved can be used to render better lifestyles to the near dear ones back home.

Nevertheless, the only pitfall presented by this system is the feeling of homesickness, and sometimes loneliness since one is miles away from their kith and kin. However, this can be overcome effortlessly today due to the advent of technology:it is easy to stay in touch with loved ones with the help of social media and video calling.

Hence, it can be safely asserted that moving to distant locations, leaving families and acquaintances behind for the sake of work, can be extremely beneficial and easily eclipse any shortcomings

The difference in age between parents and their children has increased compared to the past. Do you think advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

In the contemporary era, parents pursue a practice of child bearing late in their life which results in a huge age gap between them and their young ones. This essay shall discuss the merits as well as drawbacks of this prevailing phenomenon and find out whether the former outshine the latter.

Nowadays, people follow this trend in order to become professionally and financially well established by virtue of which they find themselves capable of extending comfort and luxuries to their wards in terms of food, shelter, education, healthcare, and so on rather than being exposed to the challenges in making the both ends meet. Furthermore, after attaining a certain age, people acquire a prudent vision which proves to be quite favourable while handling the most difficult creatures on the planet - the youngsters, and it also helps in dealing maturely with a plethora of intricacies involved in child rearing.

However, as parents grow older they fail to undertake the activities which involve physical exertion, with their little ones since they get exhausted easily by indulging in such games leading to the weakening of ties, thereby fostering/cultivating an unbridgeable wedge between the two generations. Moreover, the pronounced age gap turns children hesitant to approach their mothers and fathers to discuss day to day happenings willingly, and to share their feelings as the latter fail to render the companionship/camaraderie desired due to the emotional disconnect, which affects their psyche adversely entailing distortion in behaviour and causing several serious mental issues such as depression, anxiety, and so on.

To reiterate, the positive aspects of the increased age difference between parents and their wards eclipse its negative aspects owing to the numerous parameters such as affording excellent facilities to the young ones and making their future prospects brighter.

Many organisations and companies ask their staff to wear a uniform. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this? What kind of jobs should have a work uniform?

Many organisations and companies ask their staff to wear a uniform. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this? What kind of jobs should have a work uniform?

There are a plethora of enterprises that mandate their employees to follow a particular dress code. This essay shall discuss the merits as well as drawbacks of this trend and also discuss the occupations which must have uniform in their company policy.

There are certain failings of this arrangement. Incorporation of uniforms restricts the staff to demonstrate their true self, consequently affecting their moods and behaviour at work, since attires serve as a reflection of personality which also aid in boosting confidence. Furthermore, it becomes quite monotonous to consistently carry the same outfit.

However, deploying a work uniform extends safety at the workplace as this practice renders an ease in recognising outsiders among the crowd which helps in avoiding an unforeseen menace for the company as well as for the personnel. Moreover, this trend acts as a social equalizer by obliterating social fault lines between the haves and have-nots, and provides a healthy working environment exempt of all sorts of prejudice, thereby enriching the productivity of working professionals.

A predefined official attire code is indispensable for a wide array of jobs such as in the manufacturing industry where the staff may face jeopardy while dealing with hazardous chemicals for churning out a rich profusion of products. Similarly, electricians are intensively exposed to danger without safety gloves, shoes, and so on which are imperative to avoid the peril of getting electrocuted. In such occupations, dress code serves as a protective shield against a plethora of life-threatening risks.

To reiterate, despite some negative aspects of adopting uniform at a workplace for the staff, its positive aspects entirely eclipse/exceed/surpass the downsides since it is the onus on the organisations to prioritise safety and render a positive space to its employees.

Some parents buy their children a large number of toys to play with. What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a large number of toys? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

In the contemporary era, a slew of parents bestow on their wards a wide array of toys and games. This essay shall discuss the merits as well as drawbacks of this new phenomenon.

Nowadays, parents are intensively indulging in their professional endeavours by virtue of which they fail to devote time and to keep a round the clock vigil on their little ones. By extending a variety of toys, they substitute their time which helps their wards to escape the feeling of being isolated and also to keep them engaged in the toys rather than craving for time and attention from their mothers and fathers. Furthermore, they do not always look for the support of someone to amuse themselves.

However, this practice pushes them to play individually rather than encouraging them to engage in groups which acts as an inhibition for them in imbibing a rich profusion of social as well as moral values such as sharing, caring, communicating, developing social networks, cooperation, and so on, owing to which they fail to turn into rationale adults in the life later on. Consequently, some of them become introverts when they turn into teenagers, and due to the lack of confidence, they find it difficult to muster courage while approaching others. Moreover, this act hampers the mental growth of children since the availability of a plethora of playthings inhibits stimulation of creativity as well as imagination.

To reiterate, despite some positive aspects of rendering a plethora of toys to the young ones, its negative aspects completely eclipse the merits since it impedes their holistic development due to which they have to encounter several challenges in the years to come.

The developments in technology allow more and more machines to be used rather than human employees. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

The developments in technology allow more and more machines to be used rather than human employees. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

In the contemporary era, technological advancements are being introduced incessantly which has resulted in large scale automation that has no place for human expertise. This essay shall discuss the merits as well as drawbacks of this prevailing phenomenon and find out whether the former outshine the latter.

Many have hailed the this switchover as being of a great utility for the organisations since they are exempted from the tedious process of hiring workforce for their business processes, resulting in saving a colossal amount of funds spent on rendering salaries, perquisites, insurance, medical assistance, and so on to the employees, and besides this, they can churn out a rich profusion of products without any restriction of specified working hours.

Moreover, a slew of tasks require cumbersome repetitive procedure, so by replacing humans with machines businesses have been able to save the most precious commodity that is time which can be further utilised in other imperative functions, consequently, escalating the productivity as well as efficiency and can also help staff in escaping the boredom.

However, this evolution has caused an upheaval worldwide since it has brought in a spike in the global pressing issue of unemployment, owing to which people are encountering numerous adversities as they fail to fulfil their financial obligations, thereby affecting their mental health by being predisposed to depression, anxiety, and so on, also, a hike in suicidal tendencies. Furthermore, due to this paradigm shift, the skilled labour has started losing its craftsmanship as well as creativity.

To reiterate, the positive aspects of the replacement of personnel with the machinery eclipse its negative aspects owing to the numerous parameters such as saving time, resources, and many more by augmenting efficacy and productivity in the business activities.

Many organisations and companies ask their staff to wear a uniform
Ielts Essay Uniform

Organization specific dress codes have become ubiquitous and almost all businesses, regardless of size, comply with the trend. This has led to an intriguing but a fierce debate about the benefits and downsides of this practice besides. One does wonder, however, about what work should follow a dress code.

Undeniably, standardized clothing patterns facilitate blurring differences and promoting harmony among personnel, hailing for diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. This makes colleagues abandon discrimination and  embrace homogeneity and instead pursue common objectives.  Also, corporate clothing is considered to be a highly acceptable method of rendering a distinction between levels of authority of those working at various levels of organizational  hierarchy, and role sets of those handling diverse jobs such as blue collar and white collar jobs.

Nevertheless, not many are convinced with the currently in vogue trend of sporting organization specified gear; they consider is disparaging. Their view is founded on beliefs that this acts as a mechanism that impedes, rather obliterating, creativity, and  promotes mental slavery and extreme reliance on following procedures, making people uneasy. Such an organization, as this lobby assumes, seldom sees productivity augmenting at every level, and is caught in procedural delays.

Despite the squabble about merits and demerits, the use of company defined attire code is a must in organizations that have specific role-sets such as armed forces, law enforcement agencies which help afford reassurance to citizens, and those which rely on public relations and outreach since the outfits of their personnel exude approachability and friendly attitudes.

In hindsight, wearing or foregoing a predefined ensemble has been eternally argued for ages though practice continues to thrive unabated, even in the modern emancipated world, in a new manifestation though. I feel it exudes unity, homogeneity and sense of obligation; thus, outshining alleged pitfalls.

Ielts Essay Peer Influence on Children
Like all grownups are swayed by the attitudes of those around them,   young ones too show signs of this phenomenon. However, unlike adults, youngsters are impacted both ways, negatively and positively. It becomes, hence, necessary to guide children out of the negative influences by acting judiciously.

Impact of classmates and friends can overwhelm young minds quite easily, but this can sometimes have a positive effects as well, especially when it comes to academic performance. If children are surrounded by some individuals who excel academically, they, aided and supported by their peers, will follow the precedents. Besides this, a group that has some intelligent young individuals tends to foster similar qualities among all its members.

Having said that, many term impact of friends generally negative. Their opinion stems revelations of various studies. A distortion in personality and behavior is common symptom of peer effect. Children can turn into be demanding and arrogant  individuals if the company they keep has some rich, spoiled and flamboyant friends. In extreme cases problems can exacerbate, and children can pick up bad habits too.

This influenced can be checked and curtailed to a greater extent by timey interference monitoring by the parents. It is suggested by the established child behavior psychologists that if mothers and fathers keep a close vigil on the activities on the activities of their wards, and discuss about matters openly and caution their youngsters, they will be able to help young ones evade adverse impact of peer influence.

In the hindsight, the benefits of peer pressure are although clearly outweighed by the drawbacks, some exceptions do exist. Hence parents should act prudently and guide their wards judiciously. Appropriate guidance and counseling can  help young tender minds listen to their parents and only absorb good qualities of their  friends

Ielts Essay Youth MIgrating to Cities
As more and more youth relocate from villages to urbanized locations, social theorists seem to be getting uneasy for this movement present a big challenge though some  also see it brighter side of this trend.

Migration of youth from villages to urbanized locations is undoubtedly a favorable development. The young educated generation of rural areas is able to pursue dreams of seeking enhancement in their living standards, of course which can only be easily afforded by big cities: these locations have an abundance of opportunities for good higher education, and also handsome paying employment openings

Nonetheless, the rising influx of rural youth into urban areas is laden with multiple problems: cities receiving these migrants, are already bursting to the seams, and have scanty space for anymore. Shifting of more is precipitating chaos on multiple fronts: already over-taxed city infrastructures, are over-burdened, which is causing monumental predicaments: absence of proper housing, roads to accommodate traffic, etc.,  This is having an unfavorable effect on the quality of life in cities.

Furthermore, movement of rural young to big towns and metropolitans is creating a deep scarcity of able-bodied workforce in agricultural and other primary sector activities. Absence of people in appropriate numbers is severely hampering productivity of primary sector, which in-turn is impacting rural economies adversely. This has a potential to engender a food shortage in the country itself; thus making it hard for not only residents of rural areas to get food, but also present a challenge to the inhabitants of the cities as well.

In a nutshell, everyone has a right to seek prosperity, which in current times can only be afforded by big metropolis; hence despite numerous failings, migration of rural young to non-rural areas offers several benefits.

Ielts Essay Speed Limits
Over-speeding is a modern evil fuelled by adventurous spirits of humans which can sometimes, result in unwarranted outcomes, often fatal injuries. This makes it imperative, as per many, to curb speed though this practice has its own benefits and of course, some drawbacks. I am quite convinced about using speed control mechanism: there is no other alternative to ensure road safety.

It is commonly felt, reigning in speeding drivers is the only solution to make roads safer, or else drivers would never be able to overcome the temptation of pushing gas pedals of their vehicles further down. If this law is implemented strictly, people will, instead of finding excuses to drive faster and displaying their fearless attitudes, will adjust to the conditions and adopt safe driving habits.

Installing speed limits on roads, highways and streets, can prove to be highly productive a step: it would make drivers drive responsibly and safely, thus, reducing number of accidents, and thus injuries and causalities. It has been observed quite often that when driving at high speeds, people have little time to respond effectively to any situation since their reflexes cannot function as fast as the speed of their vehicles. This jeopardizes safety of not only the occupants of erring automobiles but also of others around.

However, critics of the speed limit arrangement often cite certain shortfalls of slowing down the vehicles. This, as per them may lead in rise in levels of air and noise pollution: vehicles moving at a slow speed tend to consume too much fuel, and their engines also tend to generate more noise, due to higher rounds per minute.

To summarize, applying speed control norms can help a great deal in ensuring that people remain safe while plying on the roads; hence it is advantageous.
