Some people think that the teenage years are the happiest of our lives, while others believe that adult life brings more happiness. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The question of whether the teenage years, or adulthood, represent the most enjoyable phase of life has long been debated. Both periods afford unique experiences that contribute to  fulfilment, and their significance varies based on personal circumstances and priorities.

Adolescents often experience a carefree existence that is largely free from major responsibilities. With their primary focus on education, they have more opportunities for leisure, friendship and exploration. One passing through this stage is filled with enthusiasm, curiosity, and the excitement of trying new things:  hobbies, sports, or even the first romantic rendezvous.

Furthermore, one enjoys being the center of attraction for all social gatherings, and functions, as friends of parents, relatives and cousins are keen to meet them. For instance, attending school events, or simply spending time with peers, can create cherishable memories. However, this stage is not without its challenges, including academic pressure, identity struggles, and the need to navigate emotional changes.

Nevertheless,  adulthood offers independence, stability and the ability to make meaningful life choices. Many find satisfaction in pursuing careers, raising families, and achieving personal goals. Adults often have the financial autonomy to travel, purchase homes, or indulge in hobbies, bringing them a sense of accomplishment and contentment. For instance, successfully completing a major project at work, or raising children can bring profound happiness. However, the pressures of balancing at work, finance and familial obligations can sometimes overshadow these joys.

In conclusion, both stages offer distinct avenues for happiness, each accompanied by its own set of vulnerabilities. Adolescence thrives on the thrill of new exposures, while adulthood is often defined by a deeper sense of fulfilment through achievements and relationships. Eventually, the happiest stage depends on individual prerogatives, circumstances, and how one embraces opportunities each phase renders.

Some people think that young people should be ambitious. Others believe that it is fine to not to have big aims in life. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Some people think that young people should be ambitious. Others believe that it is fine to not to have big aims in life. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Why some think having goals is essential for youngsters

  • In personal, social and professional paradigm, this provides a purpose to life

  • Teaches about devotion to a goal

  • It keeps one motivated

  • One learns to find ways to attain those,

    • bringing them knowledge,

    • experience and broadening their perspective by facing thick and thin,

    •  and of course making them creative

  • Brings financial, social and personal affluence

Why some think about not having goals

  • It can make one self-centered

  • Chasing objectives exposes one to hardships; facing stress or overwork,

  • Go into a disconnect from those around: staying away from nears and dears, abandon social relations

  • If one fails to accomplish their goals, one feels dejected and lost

  • Expose one to physical and mental ailments

Intro 1

When it comes to defining objectives for the future, many feel that this should be a mandatory practice for young individuals. However, the other lobby exhibits its disinclination towards the former suggestion. The following paragraphs shall delve deeper into this matter and share a justified conclusion.

Intro 2

Some people suggest that it is essential for the young generation to define what they want to attain in their life, whereas the other lobby is disinclined/disinterested in subscribing to this practice. This essay intends to delve deeper into this debate and emanate a justified conclusion.

Intro 3

While it is true that the young generation should establish some objectives to give a purpose to their life, some are averse to this practice, for they fear this might deprive them of enjoyable moments.

To start with, determining  (discerning) aims at a young age affords a clear vision for future in all walks of life: personal, familial, social and professional, and act as roadmaps that one uses to tread to fulfill aspirations and expectations of diverse realms/spheres, and experience satisfaction. To exemplify, Dr. Nikita Dudeja, a famous human behavior specialist, professes that the youth with an eye on the future are more organized and content since they get to see things happening as per their expectations, and enjoy the exploits of their planned efforts. Such  individuals are known to lead a happier life than their directionless counterparts.

Similarly, this propensity can make one vulnerable to new skills, inventiveness and a hard working approach. To corroborate, Professor Uroosa Khan, University of Technology, Toronto professes that, the goals persuade the energetic young individuals to find ways to surmount barriers obscuring their targets, garner proficiency, and discover radical solutions to reap their desired outcomes.

Nevertheless, there is some skepticism about this habit; some fear that this might predispose them to hardships, and mental and physical afflictions, tying them to their obsession of gaining access to things they dearly crave for, and making them work recklessly, thereby detaching them from their families, social circles and surroundings, robbing them of the opportunities to enjoy their life, and making things miserable for them.

In hindsight, even though the reservations against harboring ambitions might hold some substance, a life without aspirations, and expectations, is bound to be without direction and structure, and make things chaotic in the long run.

Many adults exercise very little these days
Ielts Essay  Many adults exercise very little these days

Grown-ups avoiding physical activities has many health experts at their wits' end. To surmount this,  many feel, broadcasting more sports events on television may encourage adults to exercise though another school of thought proposes other methods to do so.

Telecasting sporting events will stimulate viewers, as a section of human behavior theorists suggest, to practice a sport. When individuals see their favorite athletes performing in trans-national competitions – while viewing the exciting moments in the game, they experience exhilaration and fascination. This can motivate them to step into the shoes of performers on the field in some form, and play. Thus, provoking them to join a local club in their area that hosts the game facilities, being shown on television.

In continuation to above, when people observe the fitness levels of players in their favorite sports, they get induced to attain similar robust physiques and levels of agility, like their idols. This inspires them to  take up and follow some kind of physical exercise regime in their day to day routines,  like aerobics, gym, and running. Once taken up, this gradually can form a habit

However, Indirect methods seldom work, as some assert. The task of bringing adults back onto the exercise mat or playing turf can be effectively handled if employers and the government jointly don the mantle. If businesses make it obligatory for each personnel to establish physical fitness, and the state offers inducements to people to embrace fitness regimes, it can do wonders and people will actively engage with the exercising routines.

To conclude, I feel, both relaying matches on television and stimulating grown-ups for following exercise regimes with governmental help can be potent methods. After all, when it is the question of the health of citizens, no price paid is unjustified.

The difference in age between parents and their children has increased compared to the past
Ielts Essay Age Gap between Parents And Children

Social theorists are today, intrigued by the new trend that is seeing people having children much later than they had in the past. Nevertheless, this has both strengths and shortfalls though I find this phenomenon to be laden with more shortfalls than strengths.

It is not too hard to enumerate failings of this trend: kids tend to miss golden opportunities to get involved in various activities with their parents – which tends to make them less and less confident and more and more lonely. As mothers and fathers grow old, they lose ability to cope up with the demands of their sons and daughters, of participating in activities, especially that require physical efforts such as playing some kind of sports, or  activities, like helping with home-works. This creates a void in the mental and physical growth of the young ones.

Moreover, this is leading to frictions due to generation gap: the bigger the age-difference, wider the wedge of aspirations and expectations between the generations, and greater the likelihood of clashes. With the things changing fast, the technology, the social set-up and even the working-methods are witnessing radical transformations, and by the time the kids turn into adults, parents are already a thing of by-gone era, as some may suggest. This creates difference in almost everything, thus making them incompatible to each other.

However, this phenomena does have a brighter side too, the parents who have kids later in life tend to offer financial stability to their families, as most of them have already established themselves in their careers and are near the pinnacle, which helps them earn handsome money; thus a promising future to the kids.

To cap it, this is quite clear that drawbacks of this trend eclipse its benefits; hence it may prove to be detrimental  in long run.

Some people believe that money is more important than free time for a good quality of life
Ielts Essay - Money or leisure
In a struggle to make both ends meet and make life better, people are lost in the humdrum of earning more and more money. But does being cash rich make life really good? It is a topic to ponder seriously as some people really value free time for a good living.

Inclination towards healthy finances has obvious reasons.  A good financial standing is considered to be a critical component for a good living standard since this factor can help people to procure everything deemed necessary for a comfortable life. A big house, swanky cars, a various modern gadgets that make life simpler, etc. have become a fad  among the masses, and these can only be had if one has enough to pay for and bear connected expenses. Moreover, ensuring a good education for kids is also a factor that counts up to a good life, and for that too, money is a vital aspect.

Similarly, healthy economic background has a valid case to be seen as a pivotal factor for many since only rich can enjoy a lavish lifestyle. Travelling overseas and to exotic locations for vacations; staying in plush hotels; and dining out in trendy places and eateries, is regarded as a true indicator of happy living, and the ones who cannot afford, are deemed as sub-humans and looked down upon.

Nevertheless, those prioritizing leisure time over money cite their own rationale. As per them, humans are social animals and for that they need some free time. This helps to rejuvenate, relax, as well as leave some time for the family and friends to experience the real pleasures of life: the closeness and intimacy.

Henceforth, although people have heterogeneous views on this issue, I feel both the aspects have a pivotal role to play in the quality life.

Most people try to balance between work and other part of lives. Unfortunately, not many achieve this delicate balance. What are the main problems people are facing? What is the best way to overcome them?
Life in modern times entails complex working styles that often cause imbalances in professional and personal lives. There have been long and endless discourses over creating equilibrium between family and work. Social theorists often elucidate the issues associated with this, and also suggest ways to rectify work-life conflict.

To start with, today, seven out of ten adults are engrossed in a struggle to keep the work-life conflict at bay, but are seldom able to achieve this feat. Consequently, they witness a  decline in their productivity at work, and must struggle hard to meet their deadline, which often leads to burnout, and  persuade one to switch employment. For instance, ones working in taxing jobs are seen frequently hopping jobs in an attempt to harmonize the professional and personal lives.

Moreover, shortage of time is also a leading to an office-family life clash. Commuting to the offices, and back home, apart from very brief gaps between different tasks leaves little time for the families. Every day, working individuals spend an enormous amount of time in travelling, and squeezing in multiple tasks within the stipulated time. This taxes them both physically and mentally, thereby leaving them too drained to think about doing a balancing act between their offices and homes.

However, striking a balance between the personal and professional routines is not a far cry. Managing the time well, like leaving home 10 minutes earlier can save hours wasted in commuting; allocating a predefined time to every task, and leaving unfinished task for next slot, etc. Under no circumstances, time to be devoted to family chores should be sacrificed.

Hence, inability to striking a harmony between professional and family lives can have severe consequences on producvity, health and familial life. Thus, one must act prudently and plan their professional working approach to circumevent challnges.

Many people had been involved in sports as children, but don’t do any physical exercises as adults. What are the reasons people avoid physical exercises? How to overcome this trend and motivate adults to be more physically active?

Ielts Essay - Adults and Sports
Physical exercise, even though is an inseparable part of healthy life routine, it has been quite often observed that grown-ups tend to avoid this essential activity. There are several obvious reasons for this but the solutions to encourage grown-ups to take up this routine are available on hand.

Adults usually are found not being able to take out time for the healthy physical activities. As people grow up their lifestyles undergo a drastic shift since the priorities of their lives and routines change: from just studying and playing to building up and establishing a career and earning money for self and the family. On the top of that, the intent and obsession to earn success in the professional domains is often so deep that adults do have any room to think about accommodating sports or similar regimes in the day to day life.

Moreover, the phenomenon of adults shying away from routines involving physical exertion is also underpinned by the change in the attitude towards such regimes. As children grow up, they undergo a significant transformation not only physically but also mentally. Sports and running around, as per many, is the realm of the growing ups and not grown-ups, and adults and majors have better alternatives of leisure and socializing.

Nevertheless, integrating sports and similar activities that make people exert energy is not all that difficult as it may be assumed. The initiatives can be taken up the organizations where the people work and dedicate most of their time, under which the companies can it mandatory for the workers to also prove their physical fitness through regularly conducted tests that test the physical endurance.

To conclude, I believe, despite sports becoming unpopular with the grown-ups it is possible to nurture sporting routines among them.

Some people prefer to stay in the same job for the same company

With the career taking front seat in life of many people across the globe switching organizations and employment has become a common practice. There are though some people who love to stick to same post or company.

With the career progression in their perception, individuals are tempted to try and pursue opportunities to grab higher and higher posts and places in hierarchies in corporate world. It has been observed that organization switch often offers a shortcut to people aspiring to ride up the organizational ranks. For e.g. an individual working and performing as a marketing manager in a concern will definitely fall for higher post offered by a competitor or any other company, as this will bring benefit rapidly in form of status and resources and help him or her to develop and plan next moves.

Besides the career progression, many employees and personnel often find higher salaries and remuneration tempting enough as a reason to switch employing organizations. In their views fatter salary packets would obviously enable them to participate with their families with more financial resources at their disposal.

On the hand, some people are more or less inclined in sticking onto one job for a long time and not changing it until and unless it is essential or rather critical for their professional life. As per their view, they do not want to forego benefits of reputation and contacts they have developed in their present position as they will have to prove their worth again and work harder against already established people in new organization.

To conclude I would rather insist that though switching employment but shifting from one corporate to other always guarantees better opportunities, higher place and also better posts.

Ielts Essays - Adults PLaying Computer Games

With the advent of modern technology our lives have undergone phenomenal changes and people are picking up new habits and hobbies. Most prominent among these is use of computer as a medium of entertainment, one can find grown up spending most of their time playing different versions of online and offline games  on computer. This does have positive and negative impact on their lives.

Some people are quite averse to idea of grown ups spending time on machines playing online or offline games. As per them this is sheer waste of time and sets a wrong precedent for the children, who happen to pick up these practices and incorporate them similarly in their lives too.

Moreover, this strange hobby is costing people money. Individuals become so much addicted to these past times that they do not mind spending their hard earned money on these activities. If some one has bought an offline game then he or she will not think twice before going for an online upgrade and will end up paying  huge amounts.

Although on other hand, this hobby has been playing an important role in many people’s life. As the working hours in office are rising along with the traveling times, it has almost become difficult for individuals to find time for entertainment and de-stressing their daily routine. These online and offline activities help them considerably to relax and get away from their pensive and taxing lifestyle without actually moving away physically.

In conclusion, I would say that virtual games have both advantages and disadvantages. They help people to come out of their daily stressful routines without committing time and money, but they also happen create an addiction among people who start allocating more time to these activities.
