Social media has both advantage and disadvantages for different segments of society

Social media has both advantage and disadvantages for different segments of society. Discuss and give your opinion in not less than 250 words.

Undeniably, social media offers umpteen benefits to disparate sections of society, but the drawbacks associated with it cannot be overlooked. This essay intends to critically analyze both the aspects and derive a plausible conclusion.

Social  media platforms have helped students, teachers  and other working professionals connect with their counterparts within the same region or across the globe, enabling them to share and exchange views, knowledge, find quick solutions, and broaden their horizons on any given topic. To corroborate, educational institutes and companies utilize applications like X , Linkedin, Instagram, Facebook and academic forums to collaborate and research, sharing innovative ideas and enhancing learner experiences.

Moreover, the virtual social interaction networks have empowered even the marginalized sections that can now voice their opinions, exhibit their concerns, access services extended by regimes, and advocate for their rights, with the help of online groups belonging to their own communities. For instance, since the inception of social media platforms over a decade ago, significant populations of the destitute in regions like Asia, Africa, and Latin America have found a voice. The internet-based activism has played a crucial role in pressuring governments to take action and implement policies aimed at alleviating the suffering of their impoverished citizens.

On the contrary, despite proving to be extremely beneficial, this innovation  has also raised concerns about users being prone to misinformation, stalking and bullying. To exemplify, there have been many reports stating that individuals have started developing ill-feelings for other communities after falling prey to rumours, promoted on social platforms.

In hindsight, although there are certain challenges that these platforms present: misinformation, their benefits in fostering global connectivity, knowledge sharing, and social empowerment dominate. With responsible usage and proper regulations, this virtual medium can act as a transformative force for individuals and societies worldwide.

Some people think that parents should teach their children about the importance of recycling, while others think it should be taught in school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people think that parents should teach their children about the importance of recycling, while others think it should be taught in school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is nowadays an intriguing debate brewing up as there is a lobby that believes the mothers and fathers should impart knowledge to their wards about recycling while the others feel that the school should don the mantle to instil its relevance among the young ones.

Since parents are the role models to their children they should take the initiative by setting precedents for their wards, so that these young ones follow the footsteps of the former, and incorporate recycling in their regime. Furthermore, families can disseminate the idea of recycling to the tender minds by fostering it in the form of several fun activities and games while teaching them a variety of social as well as moral values and make them comprehend their responsibility towards improving the surroundings.

But, the other lobby believes that school is accountable for making the pupils comprehend the prominence of reuse. This process can be introduced in the school curriculum through which students can imbibe it with great ease with the help of colourful books integrated with graphics since pictures leave an everlasting impression on the growing minds, and compel and enlighten them to contribute towards the environment. Moreover, these formal settings have a lot of room to organise several drives and campaigns for recycling owing to which the little ones could inculcate the procedure in themselves through the hands-on practical experience, thereby keeping them abreast of the equipment required to follow this practice.

To reiterate, I strongly feel that both parents as well as school must share the responsibility of enlightening the young individuals about the significance of recycling since they consider both as mentors so their teachings would leave a long lasting impression on the tender minds and help them to become a responsible citizen.

In many countries the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. Some think this is good, while others believe this is a problem for a country. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

The demographic trend of a plethora of nations suggest that they are heading towards greying society. There is nowadays, an intriguing debate brewing up since a lobby believes that this evolution/prevailing phenomenon is beneficial while others believe that it is posing a menace to the countries. This essay will discuss both the views in the following paragraphs.

Many are in favour of this phenomenon since the increasing section of older people is helping in amelioration of the human development index of the countries due to the improvement in the life expectancy of the citizens by virtue of which such nations are gaining visibility across the length and breadth of the globe.

However, the rising population of the elderly is affecting the economic growth of the nation since to sustain them, the state is required to channelize funds from the public budget to cater to their needs by rendering them pensions and a wide array of other services such as healthcare, security, and so on, thereby hampering the further imperative developments in the country owing to dearth of the financial resources.

Moreover, owing to the rise  in the elderly population, nations are experiencing the scarcity of the workforce, consequently, deferring a rich profusion of assigned projects. Similarly, this increase is proving to be a liability on the shoulders of the younger generation as they push themselves to slog hard professionally as well as pay colossal amounts of taxes in order to extend subsidised services to senior citizens  which affects their productivity as well as efficiency, thereby impeding the progress.

To reiterate, after assessing both the views, I strongly feel that the mushrooming growth in the population of the senior citizens is accompanied by a plethora of negative aspects since this evolution is posing numerous challenges for the country and imposing immense pressure on the youngsters.

Some people believe that manufacturers and supermarkets should minimise the packaging material used. However, others think that consumers should avoid heavily packaged goods. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is nowadays an intriguing debate brewing up, due to the material used in wrapping things, that who should work to put a halt to this practice. There is a lobby that justifies that this initiative should be taken up by producers and retailers, while others believe that shoppers should refrain from buying such goods. I will discuss both the views in the following paragraphs.

The appealing material used in wrapping leads to the depletion of natural resources. By minimising the utilisation of packaging material, ones producing the merchandise can help nip the evil in its bud, and contribute towards the environment; saving energy used in the production process. As a result, this will aid in curbing the pollution emitted in the procedure. Furthermore, promoting such an act would instil a sense of responsibility in them towards safeguarding the environment.

Similarly,  manufacturers could save a considerable amount of money by reducing the usage of wrapping material. This cost-cutting would result in generating a rich profusion of profits, thereby, flourishing several sectors like manufacturing and retail. The benefits accrued will be in form of lower operational costs, the benefit could be also passed down to the consumers in form of lower prices, augmenting  business in the process.

However, the other lobby suggests consumers should don the mantle of such a task, they rule the roost and carry the power to bring in changes quite rapidly. If the buyers start abstaining from over-packed goods, the producers and sellers will be forced to spring into action: they unsold stock will bleed their resources and cause them losses, persuading them quickly to surrender to the will of their audience and stop this wasteful practice.

To reiterate, after assessing both the views,  I feel that such initiatives, like curbing over packing, should be jointly handled by both the parties. When the objective involves the noble cause of protecting the environment, everyone sharing and exploiting it, should join hands.

In a number of countries, some people think it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Of late, many have been suggesting establishing fast train networks to render ease to those travelling between different cities. However, a section of urban town planners and transport authority suggest that it is more important to revamp the existing mass transit system.

With the ever-growing population, it has become indispensable to ponder over an alternative in railways to ease the struggle of the people. There is a lobby that believes the establishment of new railway lines to connect different areas would be of great affordance for the urbanites. This essay will justify the rationale behind their perspective and discuss that of others.

In the era of fast-paced life, rapid mode of transport to improve the connectivity between the cities is the need of the hour across the globe. People living in cities and suburbs end up wasting plenty of time in commuting through conventional train systems. With their hectic schedules, as well as the time spent in travelling, they do not get much time to spend with their loved ones. Moreover, this affects their productivity and efficacy as well due to arriving late in the office as travelling for hours makes them exhausted.

However, the other lobby suggests to enhance and make some advancements in the existing public transportation services. They believe that by improving the frequency of public vehicles to accommodate the residents could resolve the problems faced by them.

To reiterate, after assessing both the views, I feel that by ameliorating the public transportation services, public funds can be saved which can be further utilised in other endeavours for the welfare of the inhabitants along with the alleviation of the existing troubles of the people.

Some people prefer to stay in the same job for the same company, but others prefer to change jobs frequently. Discuss.

Some people prefer to stay in the same job for the same company, but others prefer to change jobs frequently. Discuss.

There is an intriguing debate brewing up as there is a lobby that believes a major chunk of working professionals has an inclination towards  incessant job-hopping in the hope of getting several benefits while the other feel that individuals prefer a continuation of their work at the same organization for years.

A great deal of monetary and non-monetary advantages are associated with job hopping. This practice proffers people a wide array of alternatives which aids them in prospering their career as they get an opportunity to acquire a higher rank in the hierarchy of the destination company along with a chance to experience diverse working environments that later help in broadening professional clout.

Similarly, this practice allows one to secure tempting pay packages including, several perks, bonuses and exponential increments in the salaries, which help them to accomplish their financial obligations, serve their families better, and render a chance to ameliorate their lifestyles, raising their  living standards.

In the face of it, some are reluctant to leave the organizations they work for, by virtue of disparate significant factors that provide a rationale behind this phenomenon. These people get used to the working environment owing to serving the establishment for years and do not want to forego the bonds and contacts with their colleagues. Similarly, after joining a new organization,  they are required to prove their worth all over again, as well as they need to compete against already established employees of the company.

To reiterate, switching employment renders great opportunities with lucrative remuneration, as well as better ranks in the corporations. However, some outrightly reject the notion of job-hopping because of their already developed value and connections, which otherwise would be an arduous task to embark upon from the scratch in a new enterprise.

As reading is important for good education, we should encourage children to read whatever appeals to them. Discuss.

As reading is important for good education, we should encourage children to read whatever appeals to them. Discuss.

Books are the best companions, and a lobby bolsters the view of incorporating habit of reading in the lives of children by allowing them to peruse that fascinates them. This essay will justify the rationale behind their perspective and discuss that of others.

Cut-throat competition, in all walks of life, mandates grasping colossal knowledge, right from the formative years, about any realm that is only possible by meaningfully engaging in reading exercise, something only available provided youngsters are sanctioned the liberty to access what they find intriguing. Consequently, helping raise curiosity in them to go deeper and engage more intensively in reading exercise.

Moreover, this can also assist them in discovering the hidden talent besides augmenting their creativity, a great relief for the parents who do not have to struggle to determine the strength areas of their wards. Additionally, it is said compelling young minds to some direction has a tendency to switch them off, and the same is valid in the case of accessing books and other material. To afford tangible benefits, they should be allowed liberty

However, due to the negligence of parents sometimes, children indulge themselves into material meant for mature audiences like violent stories, horrifying tales, and so on. As a result of which, their psyche can get distorted and profoundly impact their conduct. Similarly, some young ones fail to draw a line between reality and imagination and end up emulating the fictional acts. It should, thus, be the onus on the parents to monitor what their wards are reading, and suggest wherever needed.

Overall, despite some seemingly sumptuous benefits being derived from affording liberty to the young minds to read they find interesting, it is not advisable to abandon them on their own, and occasional monitoring is recommended.

Some people think it is better to educate boys and girls in separate schools and some others feel they benefit more from attending mixed schools. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is a lobby that believes imparting knowledge to both genders in the same formal settings is constructive for their personalities; however, the critics consider this practice to be counter-productive though I concur with the former view.

Co-education plays a prominent role in shaping individual personalities. This arrangement renders equal opportunities to both genders by obliterating several gender disparities which would aid in removing bias and fostering respect for each other, as well as making them more adaptable to sharing responsibilities in professional realms later as adults. Moreover, this practice helps them to boost their confidence to muster courage while approaching opposite genders since some children turn into introverts and feel comfortable staying with the same gender throughout their endeavours.

However, some parents outrightly reject this notion. They believe by studying together in the same formal settings, their wards would get distracted from their academic pursuits which would adversely affect their outcomes, thereby putting their future aspirations at stake. Also, the conservative view rests on the challenges tutors might face while educating both the sexes under the same roof.

In hindsight, despite some negative aspects of pursuing formal tuition together, its positive aspects would be of great afford for both the genders and render them an opportunity to learn several moral values which will help them when they grow into adults.

Some people believe that in a city cars should be used, whereas others believe that bicycles are better than cars for travelling in a city. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is a lobby that believes people should use cars in the metropolitan areas. However, there are a few voices of dissent suggesting that cars can cause more harm than good so they should be substituted with bicycles. This essay will discuss both the views and share a logical conclusion.

Many have hailed the proposal of utilisation of cars in urbanised locations owing to several parameters. Such vehicles enable the commuters to save the most imperative commodity which is time. Since nowadays, people in urbanised locations have overburdened themselves with professional engagements which leaves little time with them to devote to their families, and if they go for other means of transit system, it will exacerbate the situation. Moreover, this mode of transport renders an opportunity to the individuals to spend lighter moments with their nears and dears while travelling together and fostering a plethora of memories to cherish.

However, there are those who outrightly reject this inclination. As per them, riding bicycles results in saving the natural resources for the future generation by mitigating the devastating impact on the environment by virtue of fossil fuels which expands the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere on combustion, and in cities there are consumption and pollution galore due to these vehicles. In the contemporary era, people in urban centres are leading sedentary lifestyles which makes them vulnerable to a plethora of diseases such as obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular problems, and so on, deploying active travel in the regular routine can help travellers to incorporate some kind of exercise in their lives which will keep them fit, healthy and active.

To reiterate, after assessing both the views, I strongly feel that the motor vehicle can be substituted by active travel since it would help in safeguarding the environment by alleviating the level of ecological disasters and milking of resources, and preserving them for future generations.

Scientists believe that the world is in danger due to environmental changes

With calls for taking steps to protect the environment becoming shriller, many have started discussing how to go about it. This has helped surface two disparate opinions, one that lays the onus on individuals to take the initiative and transform themselves, the other that suggests intervention from the state.

Individual citizens are the ones who create all the environmental damage with their unpalatable ways of life. They are the ones who are buying more and more cars, and driving frequently and in the process burning fossil fuels that is resulting in air pollution. If the citizens took a step forward and minimized their reliance on private conveyance and switched to public transport, it help nip the evil in its bud.

Moreover, undeniably individuals being the basic unit of the society, influence their  surroundings profoundly. Small steps taken by them, like resorting to minimal consumption, limiting the quantity they buy; recycling material instead of dumping them mindlessly; promoting greenery at their own initiative, like planting trees in the surroundings, can establish precedents for others to follow. This will improve things automatically and help reverse the damage to the environment.

Nevertheless, the state with its juggernaut of jurisdiction, authority and  access to abundant resources is perceived, by many, as a fit establishment to address the uphill challenge  of restoring ecological balance. They enjoy a wider reach, over the whole nation, and the populace generally follows their edicts without questions. Moreover, policy makers can also initiate various  programs carrying out research into finding eco-friendly methods and technologies to mitigate  damage to the planet.

Overall, I strongly feel although people should and can play an active role in the endeavor of keeping their surroundings life friendly, the state should also step in to support such undertakings to guarantee success

Some people think that cultural traditions may be destroyed when they are used as money making attractions aimed at tourists
Ielts Essay - Cultural Exhibition

Exploiting culture commercially to lure alien travelers is derogatory and a recipe to disaster as per conservatives, for local ways of life. However, this view is not supported by the progressives who view this as the only the way to preserve native identity in the current world order.

The purist view treats such attempts with indignation, and professes that traditions are the foundations on which societies evolve and prosper. Although they were practiced diligently in older times in their undiluted forms,  today they are being used as mere facades of the society for the tourists, by those masquerading as preservers, and are being largely modified to make them comprehensible for the aliens. This is diluting the beliefs and blurring the difference between authentic and contrived details, denting the beauty and completely altering the reason and rationale behind them.

Nevertheless, the latter view puts forth the argument that in an era when the onslaught of globalization coupled with proliferation of dominant cultures is becoming more prominent,  and especially when the young generation is overwhelmingly influenced by such changes, the only way for beliefs, endemic to a region, to survive and to be perpetuated is by remaining visible. This can only be done if more and more people across the world are brought face to face with the indigenous customs, and the money earned out of such endeavors can be used to improve the living standards of those engaged in presenting those values in front of leisure travelers.

Overall, even though opinion of traditionalists may hold some water since they wish to preserve the local customs in their original glory, in the current era this might not hold substance: the constant push by global identity and dominant societies might obliterate those practices and settings that forbid exhibition.

Nowadays online shopping is extremely popular
Ielts Essay E-Shopping

With more and more opting to shop online, shoppers are experiencing an unprecedented convenience both in terms of time and money. However, this not so old in vogue trend is impacting environment and people. In what ways does it influence both is a matter worth profound introspection.

Undeniably, ecommerce has been hailed as a boon for the environment since that latter is poised to reap rich benefits in long run if this trend gathers momentum. With a majority opting to shop online, they can now forsake the need to visit showrooms and  stores. This surely is bound to bring in colossal savings in terms of carbon emissions resulting from an ever-thinning traffic of shoppers and scaled-down operations of shops and ancillary activities.

Moreover, the advent of this trend has a potential to stem the speed of deforestation. The dwindling number of  walk-ins of customers, making a beeline for shops, has resulted in a dramatic reduction in the requirement of new shopping malls and areas. Consequently, the town planners no more  need to develop new shopping infrastructure by denuding the planet, to cater to avid shoppers.

Nevertheless, online shopping has left several jobless, especially the skilled retail professionals needed to manage the showrooms, and intermediaries. E-portals forego the need to employ specialists in many trades, ranging from the ones designing showrooms, and professionals involved in arranging merchandise on floors to sales and marketing personnel to affect the sales. This has deprived them of their earnings; thus, exposing them to financial crisis and miseries.

In hindsight, controversies apart, ecommerce web portals are  there to stay, and in fact it is surely a good step that would afford a respite environment even though partial. The affected people would surely find a way to adapt themselves to this change.

Many people say that Universities should offer places to young students with highest marks
IELTS ESSAY UNIVERSITIES ADMISSION
More and more universities, today, are establishing higher intake score benchmarks for aspirants under a specified age - for entry. Many find these stipulations quite rational though many voice their dissent over this, calling it unfair.

Varsities are premier places of education that have limited spaces. The dilemma of the authorities, in this case, is quite justifiable. If everyone were rendered a chance of entering these institutions, the possibility of the most deserving learners being deprived of opportunities of finding a place would increase by virtue of first come first serve rule coming into play. This would mean a great loss not only for the students but also for the society, as well.

Moreover, university courses need an intensive full-time study routine, as well as a high level of intellect, which average performers and ones being unable to commit themselves completely due to professional and personal obligations, may find it hard to cope with. This would not only cause a decline in quality of outcomes but also a rise in drop-outs. Thus, causing financial loss too – due to loss of fee with learners leaving mid-way.

Some, nevertheless, find little substance in this policy. They feel, marks scored in exams – which may be obtained using strategies and unfair means -  fail to not elucidate true brilliance. Furthermore, an older individual may not have been able to enroll for a course because of certain limitations, but may be needing to join one in order to augment their skills. This would quite an injustice to those people.

To conclude, I feel that it is even though true that varsities need to prevent chaos and also maintain their academic reputation, a middle path must be discovered to also let in those who are willing to find a place in these institutions.

Many adults exercise very little these days
Ielts Essay  Many adults exercise very little these days

Grown-ups avoiding physical activities has many health experts at their wits' end. To surmount this,  many feel, broadcasting more sports events on television may encourage adults to exercise though another school of thought proposes other methods to do so.

Telecasting sporting events will stimulate viewers, as a section of human behavior theorists suggest, to practice a sport. When individuals see their favorite athletes performing in trans-national competitions – while viewing the exciting moments in the game, they experience exhilaration and fascination. This can motivate them to step into the shoes of performers on the field in some form, and play. Thus, provoking them to join a local club in their area that hosts the game facilities, being shown on television.

In continuation to above, when people observe the fitness levels of players in their favorite sports, they get induced to attain similar robust physiques and levels of agility, like their idols. This inspires them to  take up and follow some kind of physical exercise regime in their day to day routines,  like aerobics, gym, and running. Once taken up, this gradually can form a habit

However, Indirect methods seldom work, as some assert. The task of bringing adults back onto the exercise mat or playing turf can be effectively handled if employers and the government jointly don the mantle. If businesses make it obligatory for each personnel to establish physical fitness, and the state offers inducements to people to embrace fitness regimes, it can do wonders and people will actively engage with the exercising routines.

To conclude, I feel, both relaying matches on television and stimulating grown-ups for following exercise regimes with governmental help can be potent methods. After all, when it is the question of the health of citizens, no price paid is unjustified.

Some people believe that to become successful in sports one should have a natural talent
IELTS Essay Talent and Hard Work in Sports
Sports, while becoming a full-fledged industry, is witnessing emergence of several accomplished players. This has left many wondering about the qualities that are catalyst to their attainments: is it their innate skills, or unswerving commitment and tenacity. There are although disparate views on this issue, all present an interesting angle.

In-born qualities are believed to be the greatest of attributes that differentiate between successful sports practitioners, and just being one of the many in the crowd. Those bestowed on with a natural, or rather accidental giftedness towards a specific domain or sports, have a natural propensity to grapple with the complexities of tasks and challenges involved in that discipline; prepare strategies to determine opportunities, and capitalize on them to surmount rivals with unmatched precision.

Moreover, their learning curves are steep; they can pick up hints about their natural area of inclination at an astonishing pace, outstripping others by miles. It has been observed that such people learn even the toughest of techniques effortlessly. Observations of several talent scouts probing young talent reveal that inborn qualities start reflecting early on and they have been found to be carrying ability to exploit their prowess better than others.

However, the virtue of relentless efforts and resolve can hardly be overlooked in sports. Several promising sporting personalities have faded in the past, in absence of devotion and resolve  to hone and realize their true potential. Training and relentless efforts help augment stamina to outrun rivals by raising endurance ceiling; equip with ability to interpret strong instinctive skills into accurate observations and expeditious execution of strategies.

In the hindsight, I believe all this talk about innate skills and hard work are little more than a useless squabble. It is both the ingredients that make a player accomplished. Take one of these factors out, they will also fade.

Nowadays newspapers publish information about private lives of individuals
Ielts Essay Press Freedom  Of late newspapers have been making private lives of people public. This has prompted certain sections to propose a strict control on what can be disclosed to audience and what not even though there are some who believe that such a move by the government is unnecessary.

Those vouching for censuring the content revealing intricate personal lives, feel that press and newspapers have no right to encroach the private space of people even if they are celebrities and noted public figures. Every individual enjoys this fundamental right and anybody trespassing this privilege should be inhibited. Governments being the controlling bodies should guarantee this right to every citizen, regardless of their status in the society.

Moreover, paparazzi  has been a cause a distress and extreme consequences in  certain cases. Their hot pursuit of people, in order to extract details about their private lives, has ruined many. People attribute family disputes, legal separations, and even bereavement to these investigative journalists. This can be illustrated by the death of Princess Diana in a car mishap that was an outcome of a press photographer chasing her and her friend.

Having said that, a lobby  vehemently defends the rights of reporters and citizens to know, and make the private lives of individuals public, especially of celebrated personalities and politicians. These key public figures, through their actions, influence their followers, critics other common people profoundly, negatively or positively. With the reporters bringing forth information  about how noted individuals behave and deal with situations behind the veil of privacy, can either inspire or caution others.

To conclude, I personally feel, despite the fact that freedom should be rendered to press to peek into private lives, certain limits should be defined, and caution must exercised on what can be brought forth.

Ielts Essay High Speed Trains or Public Transport System

The proposal of establishing high speed rail transit system has evoked mixed responses from different schools of thought: one that favors it, and the others who assert that it is more important to modernize existing mass transit networks.

Introducing high speed rail would make travelling between cities and distant locations, easy and convenient, especially for those who must cover great distances to reach their work. Urban sprawl has made cities not only spill over their outer fringes, due to congestion, but also unaffordable to live. This is pushing people to live away from their work – in suburbs, exurbs and even other towns. Consequently, incrementing the time wasted everyday in travelling. Having high speed rails would render them relief.

High  speed rail transit would help reducing vehicular traffic and pollution. It has been seen that in absence of any credible mode of movement that could guarantee speed and comfort, most elite embrace private conveyance. However, with high speed trains at their disposal, they would be encouraged to switch to this mode, which would consequently, eliminate congestion; and hence pollution.

Nevertheless, a lobby strongly favors modernization of existing networks of means of mass transit. Why should governments overlook majority interest for the sake of a minority group. Public modes are generally accessed by lower and middle income groups: these provide them with affordable transportation, as  a result, making their lives and financial matters manageable: they do not have to allocate a major part of their budget on travelling.

On an overall, I personally feel, despite a majority tilting in favor of improving public transportation, high speed rail networks should be considered in a broader perspective. These, once assimilated with the society, could become a mass mode of travelling and offer sustainable transport solutions.

Nowadays, many people leave their hometowns to look for better jobs
Ielts Essay Distant Places for Jobs

These days, a trend is being witnessed among many who shift to distant locations in search of greener pastures. This, as per many, has several benefits; however, others point out at the drawbacks of this. I will discuss both the aspects and share my views.

Relocating to other cities in search of good employment exposes people to abundant opportunities of landing a job that suits their qualifications, and matches their expectations. This raises their chances of enhancing their earning capacities, thereby improving their living standards. They can plan better for their future and also fulfill their dreams: buying a good house, affording their children quality education, and also accumulate  wealth for a safe and secure future.
Moreover, moving away from home renders individuals opportunities to broaden their horizons and also become independent. When people relocate in search of livelihood, they get to know the outer world more closely, and also interact with others, whom they may not be able to come in contact with while staying back at their homes. This, free of any external assistance, interaction helps them form rational view of world, besides fostering confidence in them about taking decisions independently.

However, this trend does have a darker side to it. With people moving away from home turf, the prospects of their communicating with their families and peers are reducing considerably; thus, causing erosion of social and ethical values. The hardest hit are the children born to such people, who rarely get to interact with their grandparents and cousins, thereby, reducing relevance and importance of familial relationships.

In a nutshell, I personally opine, even though this relatively new concept has both positives and negatives, leaving hometown and settling down in distant locations for the sake of rich employment opportunities is highly advantageous.

In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist. Discuss both these views and give your opinion in at least 250 words and mention any relevant examples from your own experience.

iIELTS Essay - Stress and Current Generation
There is a topical argument ensuing between different schools of thought, after emergence of stress as a major feature of modern lifestyles, as to whether it is a reality, or a hoax. Where some suggest, the present generation is afflicted by this phenomenon, others point out that it was the past generation that faced more pressure than today, and yet remained unaffected.

Stress today is ubiquitous, as per some. Working hours have stretched due to intense competition from rival businesses and colleagues; forcing people to remain confined to office cubicles for longer hours, and even on off-days. This is taking a toll on their personal lives: they are unable to sustain a work life balance; many find themselves juggling between fulfilling professional obligations, and addressing matters and concerns related to families.

However, some ridicule this view, and feel that the stress current generation is facing, is its own making. People in the past had to work and travel for longer hours: they did not have such advanced technologies, as available today, to their aid. However, they remained virtually unaffected by work pressure: they were practical, being aware of their  limitations and not being over ambitious, and hardly set any insurmountable  goals.

Besides this, stress is more of an overstatement today. It rising due to people not interacting with others, as openly as they  did in the past. Their over-engagement with  technology in leisure, is taking them away from the society. Many find themselves indulging in watching television; playing games on computers and hand held devices; and interacting with their virtual contacts on social media. Thereby, forcing them to forego opportunities to socialize with their families and peers.

To sum up, I feel, after assessing both the opinions, stress even though did not  emerge recently, seems to be afflicting the present generation more, but, the phenomenon is surely an outcome of over ambitious and over-zealous approach, it has embraced.

Ielts Essay Hot or Cold Weather
Planet Earth, with its diverse regions and climates,  has been populated by humans since time unknown. People have lived in both hot and  cold regions, their preferences are governed by the prevalent conditions and their experiences.

Even though many may say that living in hot climate zones renders unparalleled experiences,  ones who prefer areas that confront low temperatures, sometimes freezing and at others below freezing, find it quite conducive. For them, life – instead of being defined by unbearable heat, humidity and sultry conditions – is all about comforts in wooly sweaters and clothes, slipping under quilts, and getting a refreshing sleep. They enjoy sitting by fire, sipping hot beverages, and sometimes hard drinks that make them feel jubilant fresh rather than exhausted.

Moreover, as per this lobby, life in regions with cold temperatures is considered to be relatively healthy. Infections and bacteria can hardly spread around and inflict people with life threatening disease. It has also been medically proven that those living in such regions have better appetites and stamina: metabolism of their bodies remain fine-tuned, allowing them to enjoy a variety of food and drinks, and remain physically and mentally fit.

However, there are some who prefer life in areas that have higher temperatures. Hot weather, for such people, means a life of abundance, happiness and active social life. Such parts of the planet have an abundance of greenery that exudes positive vibes and promotes healthy living. These regions also afford a healthy social interaction to their inhabitants, due to abundant sunshine and good weather prevailing for most days.

To sum up, I personally feel that both the regions – hot and cold – have some unique benefits to offer. The topmost priority of humans is always to lead a happy and uncomplaining life, regardless of the regions they reside.
