Intelligence is most important component for leadership. Do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and support it with adequate examples. - Ielts Essay

Intelligence is most important component for leadership. Do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and support it with adequate examples.

Leaders have always been taken in high esteem, and regarded as ideals by billions of followers. Surely, people donning the role of the leaders have certain traits that define intelligence, and it is the intelligence that makes them naturally fit for leadership.

A brief peek into the past reveals that, in old days too, the people selected to lead civilian and military groups, were required to be witty, and quick thinking to find solutions, even under the adversities. Individuals leading groups must have a combination of high IQ level and great analytical skills, which enables them to easily gauge the nature of problems and also provide solutions.  Moreover, intelligence also makes the leaders visionaries, pragmatic, innovative and prone to changes. It has been experienced that intelligent people when leading from the front always seek excellence since for them, second best cannot guarantee success.

Similarly, such people are usually smarter in approach: they possess emotional resilience to face adversaries and supporters alike. They are tolerant to ambiguity and difference of opinions; pave way by balancing diverse and conflicting viewpoints; and adapt appropriate strategies to prevail upon, convince, and win over by making quick and necessary changes in plans. Ability of individuals to take criticism in their strides and carry on with their work inspires supporters and critics alike. This sets them intelligently apart from the rest of the crowd and makes them natural leaders.Apart from that, CQ or character quotient, another trait of high intellect, is another aspect that is considered to be a mandatory for commanders. Character integrity makes these people ideals for coworkers, followers and citizens of a country.

Hence, I personally believe that high level of intellect is surely a critical part of leadership, and it can make a difference between success and failure.  If one lacks such a trait, they will struggle to find followers.

Ielts Essay - Upbringing city or village
Rearing children has always been considered to be an arduous process, and many have been trying to find ways to ensure a good upbringing. This has triggered a debate over the impact of surroundings on growth of young individuals, as some feel villages offer better settings for such a task, while others vouch for urban surroundings.

Juveniles being brought up in urban areas enjoy a sizeable benefit over their rural counterparts since the former afford everything, that modern lifestyle requires: easy access to quality education facilities, right from schools, universities, libraries and other educational locations: museums and exhibition halls, to world class recreational parks and facilities, like cinemas, discotheques, local parks in the areas of residences. Similarly, a sumptuous dose of exposure to an array of quality infrastructure, like internet, is rendered to growing minds that proves to be quite handy when it comes to learning about various aspects of life.

It is generally believed, most of innovations and development have originated from the cities, and the ones growing up in urbanized locations enjoy access to an unparalleled abundance of opportunities that influence their future course of action. In other words, being brought up in cities makes one more organized and objective in approach, and off course smart enough to identify and grab chances coming their way.

Nevertheless, growing up in a rural setting stimulates a strong sense of community among the children. The countryside offer pollution free surroundings and healthy lifestyle: young ones do not squaner their time indoors, but instead participate in sports and outdoor activities. It has been observed that those reared in rural areas enjoy a robust physical health. Moreover, they also learn to survive within the given resources, unlike their counterparts who are demanding in their approach.

To conclude, even though both, growing up in villages and cities offer distinct advantages, urban locales offer better opportunities for the future progress and lets the upcoming generation establish themselves successfully.

Some people think it would be a good idea of schools to teach every young person how to be a good parent. To what extent do agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Teaching Parenting to kids a Good Idea?
Since ages, parenting has been a trivial subject for many. Several experts think that it would worthwhile if young ones could be coached about the art of parenting even though there are others who think quite differently.

While attending formal tuitions, young learners are at an age when they are inquisitive and zestful, and whatever skills about parenting are imparted, as a part of formal tuitions, can guarantee building up a strong foundation for a well informed adult life, of which parenting is a part.   Moreover, training about parenting could come in handy at a time when moms and dads cannot devote time for fostering basic skills in their wards. The skills of managing kids are generally grasped by kids by observing their parents, which is not possible these days. The coaching about parenting, about being a good parent, at schools could fill up this gap.

However, the schools are already overburdened with the responsibility of training students in domains that are of paramount importance for the kids. Including such non challenging subjects would actually lead to degradation of quality of syllabus being imparted. This would eventually transform the whole concept of schooling have around unwarranted consequences

Besides this, learning about the skills or being a good parent can wait for later time since minds of children are tender and not adapted to learning about intricacies of a realm as complex as parenting. Even though parenting needs fathers and mothers to follow certain practices, this art cannot be taught. This skill generally involves learning by forging and managing intimate relationships.  In other words, rearing kids is principally learnt, by people involved, from practical experiences.

In the nutshell, I personally feel that parenting is surely not a subject to be included in the syllabus of academics.

Ielts Essay - Discipline and Learning
Making a choice between teaching young learners in a disciplined or free environment has always confused humans. Some people feel that for good results in academics and otherwise, it is highly essential for the students to be educated in a closely monitored environment.

Discipline, especially in education, entails establishment of a plausible mechanism that leads to systematic execution of tasks, such as planning, defining and imparting lessons and setting deadlines for assignments, which, in turn, encourages meaningful learning, on part of the pupils. The students, as it has been observed, tend to grab the things much better under the watchful eyes of their teachers, as the learners also fear reprimand in case the performance is found lacking, or assignment or work is not being completed within the given deadlines.

Moreover, controlled and closely monitored environment does not necessarily mean punishing students for their shortfalls; it also involves making students appreciate value of time and efforts. It has been observed in many schools and colleges that despite students not being physically or mentally punished for any shortcomings, they tend to behave responsibly and put their all out efforts to achieve their best, since they know what they could lose if they fail to perform as per the expectations of their tutors and pedagogues.

However, for children to learn better, it is not at all necessary to impose strict control. The creativeness knows no boundary, and the children educated in an environment that sans harsh retribution turn out to be intelligent and grow up innovative adults. People like, Thomas Edison are live examples of this.

In the nutshell, I personally feel although not subjecting children to harsh discipline may seem to be an attractive option; it is the necessity for the good of the children

As public safety is one of the highest importance, it is often necessary to test new products on animals. It is better for a few animals to suffer than for human life to be placed at risk by untested products. In what extent do you agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Cruelity on Animal
Off late as the animal lovers have been raising their pitch against use of animals being used as test beds for medicines and cosmetics, various sections of the society have been at poles. Some feel this is testing on animals is sheer cruelty, while others think that there is nothing wrong in this.

Activists vouching for animal rights feel that testing impact of medicines and other substances is unethical since this involves subjecting poor animals to the trauma of sickness and disease. It is quite cruel to put lives of animals in danger for the sake of humans.

However, testing on animals has been going on since a long time, and the animals used for experiments are not on the endangered list, but ones that perish or are killed, each year, by use of rat poison, rat traps, etc. Several million humans owe their lives to the successful lab simulations on the animals. The effectiveness and safety of use of such formulations were actually proven by these very tests.

Similarly, scores of medicines and surgical procedures have been perfected with the help of lab testing on the rats and mice. Although nowadays scientists are happy carrying out tests on simulated environment of computers, it is impossible to test use and effectiveness of pacemakers, reattaching severed limbs and procedures like kidney and heart transplants on virtual environment. All of these processes were actually tested and perfected in clinical trials. Without using animals for testing formulations or procedures for effectiveness and safety, the medical field would come to a standstill and jeopardize lives of millions of patients waiting desperately for some respite from their medical conditions.

To conclude, I feel that there is nothing wrong in carrying out experiments  on animals for sake of saving humans lives.

Ielts Essay - Salaries of Sportsmen
Sports today have become a full fledged profession. This has helped the sportsmen to earn astronomical figures as a part of earnings. This phenomenon has also raised a hot debate, as to whether the earnings that are often more than the people from other trades are justified or not.

Today, the casual performers have been replaced by the well-trained & well-versed professionals. The players toil hard & train to improve & maintain performance for the next competition & to keep up the tempo. Also, it is always under a constant threat of disabling Injuries during a match or training. The life of the sportsmen’s career is generally too short that spans only over a decade & a half, beyond that the players will have switch professions. In this period, sportspersons have little time to earn for insuring rest of their lives.

Moreover, the players today are the National heroes & Idols for the Billions of their fellow countrymen & definitely rule their hearts. For e.g the cricketers in India have a bigger than life Image and any monetary reward bestowed upon them is always justified by their fans as deserving.

However, some sections of society are contrary to this view & regard it as absolutely unjust to other professionals from other streams. They feel that they too toil hard to perform & produce results, which could be in more important Industry & role for the Society, Economy & country. They consider Sports as a leisure & non-essential activity.

In my opinion, today sport is an independent industry which is not only generating employment directly or indirectly, but also a source of good commerce. It is practical & fair for the players, being an essential component to earn, huge & big, after all they deserve it.

As reading is important for good education, we should encourage children to read whatever appeals to them. Discuss.- Ielts Essay

As reading is important for good education, we should encourage children to read whatever appeals to them, others disagree. Discuss.

Inculcating reading habits among young learners is considered to be an effective way of encouraging students to strive for better performance in academics; but, there is a certain level of disagreement over the way and resources that should be involved in this exercise. Where some vouch for rendering independence – to children –in choice of material to be read, others feel guidance is valuable in this case.

Reading books and other material surely enriches the knowledge of people of all age groups, especially children, but the young learners are not very well experienced in choosing the source they should go for. Their exposure to the quality and requirements is extremely limited, which exposes them to the risk of falling prey to ingenious and fake material – especially in an age when there is an abundance of unsolicited material on internet. Pursuing and reading such material would do more harm than bringing around benefits; thus misleading the young minds, and instilling misconceptions.

Moreover, there is a plethora of material being published in form of books, encyclopedias, magazines and journals, etc. that pertain to a variety of subjects; and target a wide array of readers and audience – of various age groups.  Making a choice between what should be read and what is not deemed necessary, is sometimes very difficult for inexperienced minds. This would surely put the young minds under undue pressure and pose hurdles in development of skills.

However, instilling habit of reading is more important than anything else, and it is important for the young learners to first develop an attitude to explore. Choosing the quality and type of material to be read can be decided upon later.

To sum up, I feel that providing guidance about what to be read and not, is indispensible even though some leverage and liberty to young ones, but it should be done under the close vigil of parents.

In most developed countries shopping is not only about buying the goods you need, it is also perceived as entertainment. Is it a positive or negative development? Give your own opinion and examples based on your experience.

Shopping as Entertainment
For inhabitants of the developed economies, shopping is becoming more of a past time - rather than spending money on buying required commodities - with they often entertain themselves. This trend fetches some accolades and brickbats.

Developed countries have influential economies which rely on the spending by consumers. The trend of using shopping as a way to entertain is fueling the consumerist society, which in turn is generating economic activity; assisting in consuming the products being manufactured by the factories; and the services being offered by services establishments. This in turn is generating employment - the workers being employed by the factories and service establishments - at the local and global level.

On top of that, it is firmly believed that the inclination of inhabitants to go on shopping trips to keep themselves entertained is also preventing many evils and stressful situations. Most of the population of affluent countries spends very less time at work – generally around 35 to 40 hours per week - which leaves them with an abundance of free time which if not consumed in some productive work, is used in activities that often lead to self-harm – sedentary lifestyle, suicides, addiction to drugs and alcohol - or certain crimes which can jeopardize public safety – like murder and burglary.

Quite contrary to the popular beliefs and theories, entertaining oneself with shopping  has many drawbacks. Fostering habit of wasteful expenditure and extravagancy can has a long lasting adverse impact on the people as involving oneself in wasteful expenditure would surely jeopardize finances in future.

Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in workplace. Others think that the true function of the universities should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

As more and more people have started regarding education only way to securing a healthy and stable career, many have started proposing elementary changes in the ways varsities treat education. The section thinks that it would better if varsities taught only those subjects which were required in specific professions and trades as chosen by pupils.

Getting a job after completing the studies is on the top priority of a majority of student community so most of them want to grab those skills which could help them secure choicest jobs faster with the best of companies. It is therefore firmly believed that it would be highly conducive to gain expertise in those areas where the employers have a severe requirement. Gaining technical knowhow and developing finesse in specific fields can help in polishing the skills, thus helping the people in getting jobs faster since their skills would easily match the requirements of companies looking for skilled workers.

Moreover, making education employer requirement centric would bring around numerous for companies hiring personnel as the hiring organizations would not have to allocate expansive financial outlay to task of training the workers for the specific jobs. The money saved would enhance the productivity of the companies and also enable them to extend more financial benefits to their workers.

Nevertheless pursuing and imparting education as per employer requirements has its own hazards as the needs of companies keep changing; and relying on a specific trade area, also within a domain, would make the workforce specializing in a specific area redundant; this would eventually result in large scale unemployment.

To sum up, I personally believe that the notion of imparting education as per professional aspirations, and avoiding other subjects, is full of faults; and it should never be put into practice.

Sometimes celebrities get invited to international aid events. Do you think that such events deviate from their main purpose by inviting famous people?

Celebrity or Philanthropy?

Philanthropy has become a fad among the elite today, and almost every organization, offering humanitarian or relief assistance, is finding it easy to raise resources by simply organizing charity shows and roping in famous people to endorse these happenings. Some critics vehemently challenge the validity of such activities while some find such things really practical.

Collecting money through big star-studded charity shows is always considered an excellent method of raising funds for charitable objectives. Roping in famous public personalities boosts the relevance of such happenings, as more and more people emulate the precedents of their idols and contribute by buying entry passes for such events, or even donating handsome amounts. Moreover, this spurs interest among various sections of the society simultaneously, and the aid organizations are able to reach more and more people quickly.

For instance, recently an NGO organized a charity show in Delhi to create awareness about the plight of the rivers in India; and collect much-needed funds and logistical support to run their campaign effortlessly, so they hired services of a renowned journalist, with a large fan following, to endorse their cause and the show. consequently, several admirers, from far-flung areas of Delhi and around, of  that individual joined the show and paid decent sums of money and also voluteered forthe cause.

However, bringing in celebrities has its own perils; the focus of shows tends to shift from being cause centric to being person centric. This kind of shift affects the image of such events adversely as many consider such activities as mere publicity stunts; this might cause disenchantment among the populace, and take it away.

To conclude, I feel celebrited boost the image of such shows rather than tarnishing it; this method is the easiest to enlighten the world about the altrusitic objectives and plight of the

Some people feel that Schools do not teach children how to stay healthy anymore? To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Some people feel that Schools do not teach children how to stay healthy anymore? To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Education and health of children have always been top priority. Since the advent of 20th century, appropriate focus has been laid on training children in academics and educating them about leading healthy lives. But as per some, the focus seems to be shifting as schools do not prioritize health education anymore, though there are some who feel otherwise.

The focus of educational institutions has gradually shifted to prioritizing academic excellence and finesse. To see this through, the faculties put whole hearted efforts into training students for better academic accomplishments. With the multitude of efforts being put into encouraging and preparing pupils for higher academic output, educational establishments are left with little time to teach young learners about leading healthy lives, for instance, several schools have shelved extracurricular activities from syllabus, and replaced them with academic discipline.

Moreover, although many schools still profess about ensuring comprehensive personality development of young learners, and such institutions heavily publicize various activities aimed at fostering healthy habits among children, much publicized talk about health education is merely a lip service, as the schools seem to be pursuing commercial goals, and they are least bothered about the overall development of the kids.

However, some people really feel that schools are still continuing with the mission of fostering healthy habits among the children, and even though the schools do not include any formal health programs in regular syllabus, the educational establishments regularly organize such workshops and activities that invite participation from established health practitioners and students. This in turn, inspires young learners to follow precedents of professionals, and learn about leading healthy lives.

To conclude, I personally feel schools seem to have lost the way in pursuit of better academic pursuits, and have ignored the need of teaching pupils about healthy lives.

Nowadays scientists and tourists can travel to remote natural environments such as the South Pole. What are the advantages and the disadvantages of this development? - Ielts Essay

Travel to Remote Environment
With scientific research gaining more importance and travel transforming into wanderlust, scientists and travelers with itchy feet have started exploring virgin untamed habitats. Modern scientists and travelers know no boundaries, and they do not hesitate to even include poles of the planet in their research and travel itinerary. This trend has fetched accolades and some brickbats simultaneously.

Travel by scientific community to untamed areas and regions like poles is laden with numerous benefits as scientists get a chance to explore various mysteries connected to our planet and its environment, for instance, places like Antarctica are often regarded as mine of undiscovered facts that can reveal vital clues linked to changes in the weather patterns and their influence on our planet, and crust of continents that have drifted apart from each other long ago. The long frozen ice caps of these locations contain loads of information about the changes in quality of air over different periods.

Similarly, travelers foraging into the wild and untamed areas avail opportunities to learn about the how flora and fauna thrive in natural habitats, and also to know about why it is extremely essential to preserve these pockets of wild areas for the well being of our planet.

However, the concept of exploring Ecozones is believed to be a hazard for the natural habitats. The researchers exploring these territories often cause more damage to the surroundings in the name of carrying out nature study, as many seek opportunities to exploit virgin material of these areas for commercial purposes. Even the rovers who just enter these areas cause similar level of damage as they often behave irresponsibly when it comes to preserving the sanctity of these areas.

In conclusion, I feel travelling to remote locations can be beneficial if undertaken responsibly.

Without capital punishment (the death penalty) our lives are less secure and crimes of violent increase. Capital punishment is essential to control violence in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Can Death Penalty Prevent Violent Crimes?

Ever rising incidence and intensity of criminal activities has pushed many to strongly vouch for continuation of severe punishment in form of death penalties though some feel that awarding death sentence is not required and would prove insufficient as far as curtailment of unlawful activities involving violence is concerned.

Extreme steps, like awarding death penalties to the perpetrators of crime of violence acts as a major deterrent; the offenders always fear execution if found and convicted. The fear of death is the biggest element that pushes one to dissuade themselves from participating in criminal endeavors which might result in physical harm to the victims. For instance, many empirical studies and analysis have revealed that introduction of death by execution statute in early twentieth century in some countries, and reinstatement in others across the globe, resulted in steady decline in the number of incidents involving violent acts. Now, the people feel safer are able to lead a peaceful life.

However, several deride this theory, as per them, the crimes of violence like homicides are in most cases committed due to the inherent animal instincts. For some, carrying out such acts is habit and a passion and no law of any severity can prevent criminals from involving themselves from such activities. Furthermore, brutal acts resulting in physical harm can often be a result of circumstances and not deliberate. This lobby is of  the view that reformation and rehabilitation could help those intending to commit such acts, introspect an think about the impact their endeavors  could have on others.

Overall, I feel that capital punishment is an absolute necessity to ensure a crime free society. All other proposals presented in favor of abandoning it should be overlooked, after all public safety is of paramount importance.

Space Exploration IELTS Essay
As the race for exploring outer space gains momentum, a section of critics to this policy have started questioning the rationale behind allocating a huge financial outlay on this exercise. However, there are many supporters of the space programs being undertaken currently by governments across the world.

The Idea of going ahead with discovering the untouched domains beyond the atmosphere of the planet earth has always fascinated the human kind. This curiosity has gained more prominence as the scientists go ahead with trying to uncover the mysteries of the universe. As per them, probing into deeper space would help in unraveling many unknown secrets that have intrigued humanity over the centuries. This would in turn, not only allow us to know about the origins of humanity, but also open up new horizons of knowledge for the future generations.

Moreover, most of the latest innovations are a result of extensive solar system exploration. The biggest beneficiary of this activity has been the humanity itself, which, due to satellites in the space, is now having a better medium of communication and weather forecasting at its disposal. Besides this, many technologies and techniques have been developed or perfected with help of extensive experimenting in space, for instance semi conductor that was developed in weightlessness of space, i.e. out of our planet has assisted in improving the electronics and many other domains.

However, the detractors feel that money channelized into sending satellites or people out of planet could have been spent on better things like providing food, shelter, education and medical support to innumerable poor of the planet.

To sum up, in my point of view, whatever may be the case, the schemes aiming at exploring space has proven to be helpful and it should provided more impetus.

Over the last few years more and more students enroll in universities. This situation creates competition among individuals. Do you agree or disagree? Is it a good or a bad development?

Students Enroll in Universities
With academic excellence gaining prominence, a strange trend is developing among the pupils as everyone is seeking enrollment in varsities. This has given rise to a race of sorts among the younger generation to secure higher grades in the secondary studies. Some feel, this is surely a thing to worry about, while others look at the positive side of it.

Better academic qualifications have always been the objectives of pupils seeking academic excellence. To achieve this, the pupils tend to opt for reputed varsities that are equipped with better faculties and facilities. This has given rise to a stiff competition among the people as the number of seat available in departments of universities are limited which in turn has raised the cut-off percentages in selection lists.

Such neck to neck race would surely cast an unholy shadow on the current education system as other venues of imparting courses may become irrelevant shortly. There could be another negative impact on the education system as courses being hosted by the colleges and other alternatives institutions may not be considered suitable and adaptable thereby rendering the academic pursuits of students of these establishment inappropriate. This could finally lead to a collapse of the whole setup.

However, some educationists and planners feel that this is a positive development as the recent drift of pupils towards university would not inspire them to gain more proficiency in their elementary pursuits, but also help in developing their attitudes to obtain deeper knowhow in any discipline they pursue. Moreover, the institutions clubbed under non university categories would also be encouraged to raise the standards of academics and facilities being offered currently.

To sum up, I personally feel that the inclination for universities would bring around positive results in the long run.

“Prevention is better than cure”. Out of a country’s health budget, a large proportion should be diverted from treatment to spending on health education and preventative measures. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Providing appropriate healthcare services to the inhabitants of a country has always remained an important social initiative, but consistently rising per capita health expenditure has invited a debate on finding ways of cutting down public expenditure in this domain. Some have even suggested channelizing funds to programs aimed at encouraging prevention of ailments rather than combating them.

Diverting public money to initiatives aimed at teaching inhabitants about healthy practices can be more productive and fruitful as it would help in ensuring keeping various fatal and crippling diseases at bay, thereby reducing the need to manufacture and procure expensive medicines and equipment. This would enable the government to channelize the much precious funds to ensuring better life and facilities for the inhabitants of a country.

Furthermore, prioritizing creating awareness among masses about benefits of adopting and leading a healthy lifestyle over treating would result in improving the health index of society, especially in terms of fatal and crippling diseases. This, is turn would enhance the productivity of the society by shifting its focus to more vital areas rather than exploring ways to treat ailments.

However, reducing financial outlay and changing preferences from providing treatment to educating about healthy lifestyle and prevention of ailments could prove to be a disaster as the life is becoming complex and many people may not be receptive to the idea of leading a disciplined life. Moreover, certain illnesses and disorders occur due to unavoidable reasons especially those linked to the aging, complex lifestyle and pollution, for instances, some illnesses like arthritis start occurring naturally and cannot be prevented even by following a healthy lifestyle.

To sum up, I feel that government should keep both prevention and cure on priority and not focus only on one area - both of these enjoy equal relevance for effective healthcare interventions.

Many parents use punishment to teach the different between right and wrong to kids. Many think punishment is necessary to help children learn the distinction between right and wrong. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Punishment And Parenting

Parenting has always been a tricky job because it needs people to handle one of the most difficult beings on the planet, i.e. the children. This job can test the wits of parents especially when it comes to teaching the kids about differentiating between the good and bad. Involving some sort of punishment in teaching process is sometimes regarded as a critical component of parenting; however, critics despise this practice.

Juveniles are adventurous, immature and often prone to adopting ways of erratic behavior. Their inquisitive tender minds often lead them into exploring such activities and domains which should otherwise be avoided during growing years.  It is necessary to dissuade them from such expeditions and as per some parents, chastising is the best way is prevent the kids from taking up habits or involving themselves into such habits that have a potential of hampering their growth.

Furthermore, rebuke and reprimand have always been regarded as the short cuts to inciting discipline among the young ones. The fear of cane and verbal punishment have always deterred the growing kids from doing something over adventurous, and instead encouraged them to take up righteous path that is disciplined and fruitful. The kids disciplined at home are thought to grow up as those rational adults who know the difference between good and evil.

However, modern psychologists and social scientists disapprove and reject theory of rebuke. As per them, there is no place for punishment in a caring relationship and moreover, chastising can often result in severe consequences where the children either grow up as violent adults or take extreme steps in their growing years.

To sum up, I feel although the view of modern child psychologists holds true in contemporary era, traditional concept of upbringing cannot be completely overruled, making this practice relevant even today.

Trees are essential for the existence of the human race as they provide the oxygen that we need to survive. Yet, daily all around the globe, large areas of woodland are being destroyed. Many people feel that they as individuals can do nothing and that only governments and large companies can halt the destruction. To what extent do you agree with this?

Trees Are Important For Human Kind
Rapidly shrinking forest cover has raised serious concerns among many countries and has shifted the focus of global society to finding viable ways of saving the planet from ecological disaster. Many environmentalists have come up with numerous suggestions and have called for individual participation but most people are clueless about this, though there are some who feel otherwise.

Common people would hardly be able to make any noticeable impact in a program of such colossal dimensions due to lack of necessary resources and authority to carry out such tasks. Initiatives aiming at saving green cover need infusion of extensive resources including money and manpower, and individual citizens do not have access to both. Furthermore, there is a lack of direction among citizens and most prefer to stay away from making contributions in such social initiatives. People feel that it would impossible for any program at the community level to survive in the long run without tangible contributions from government and corporate sector.

Moreover, schemes such as saving Jungles need involvement of many countries at global level as saving greenery is not the responsibility of a single nation or an individual because this kind of initiative cannot make a big impact until and unless there is a full blooded intervention by various countries.

However, many people feel that each person can make sizable contributions. Any noble mission must start from the grass root level and it is people who can create awareness in the society about the ill effects of deforestation and generate public opinion aimed at protecting green cover.

In conclusion, I personally feel that although it is hard for people to go alone on this difficult and rather uphill task but their contributions in saving forest cover still can go a long way.

Some say that young and energetic employees are the most valuable for the company, others argue that older employees have more experience and knowledge. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and examples, based on your own experience.

With several corporates aiming to reducing their size and optimize utilization of each resource, their focus has shifted to creating adaptive human resources policies which in turn profess weeding out unsuitable personnel to improve the productivity. This for some HR professionals means leaning towards retaining young people and axing older employees. This has raised a conflict of sorts among several sections on this issue.

The young people are fresh and raw and they have all the enthusiasm and desperation to prove their point which pushes them to strive for success and perform harder for the companies. Their constant struggle to ride up the hierarchical ranks inspires them to apply themselves more dedicatedly. Besides this, selection of younger personnel also guarantees infusion of fresh aspirations which in turn brings around several benefits in form of increased competitiveness.

Furthermore, selection of more and more workers belonging to the young age groups means significant reduction in the financial outlay allocated to welfare of the employees as the companies have to spend lesser amount of money on medical bills and other privileges otherwise extended to senior employees.

However, there are several strong contradictions to the priority selection policy of the human resources departments across the world as many experts feel that the presence of senior personnel does not only guarantee precise execution of each critical task within the company but also ensures presence of sufficient expertise for sound planning to take an organization forward. The veteran employees are often highly experienced and seasoned and they also have an in depth knowledge on intricacies of various conditions and ways of handling contingencies that a company may need to negotiate in due course of business.

In conclusion,  I personally that both the categories of employees is critical for an organization.

Damage to the environment is an inevitable

In the race for achieving more and more prosperity, the humans have started ignoring the plight of the natural environment that surrounds them. Some environmentalists consider this situation to be a recipe to disaster and feel the impending danger to the sanctity of the surroundings is now unavoidable though there are some who think otherwise and are quite optimistic about improvement in quality of environment.

The struggle and competition for attaining influential status at the global level and providing better life to citizens of country, governments of respective countries are encouraging establishment of more venues that fuel economic growth. As per them, only economic progress can guarantee better living quality for inhabitants. This belief is leading to extensive destruction of natural surroundings, e.g. forests and natural habitats are being cleared to make way for industry and facilities that fuel modern society. The loss in this case is irreversible and humanity may never get back whatever it loses.

Moreover, as the emphasis is on enhancing and boosting quality of life, various nodes connected to development have started carrying out expansive research on improving quality of products and services which is resulting in over consumption of natural resources. The natural resources are being extracted indiscriminately and at a startling pace thereby causing an irrevocable loss of naturally occurring minerals.

However, there are some who are quite optimistic about the safe future of the natural surroundings. They are inspired by the recent enthusiasm registered by the governments and people all over the world about thrifty use of energy and recycling of material. They feel humans would be able to salvage environment within a short span of time.

To sum up, I feel that fears being allayed about environmental damage due to development are true to a great extent.
