 Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

There is a fierce debate going on over the issue that sportspersons are earning more than any important fields such as the armed forces, engineers, scientists and medical professionals and so forth. Many are in favour of this difference, while a school of thought opposes this disparity. The following paragraphs shall analyze both aspects and share a plausible outcome.

To commence with, It is believed by many that players represent the identity of the nation as they make their country proud by winning in international sports events. It encourages a large population, especially youngsters, to start playing sports, or at least exercise to sustain well being, helping establish a sporting culture. For example, as per statistics released by Indira Gandhi Sports Institute, New Delhi, ever since Neeraj Goyat in Athletics won a gold medal in the Olympics 2022, there has been a rise by fifteen percent in individual participation among the Indian youth, which has encouraged local sporting authorities to organize more athletics events. Furthermore, these players dedicate years of hard work and discipline, and are exposed to the risk of disabling injuries, or going out of form, which could end their careers abruptly; therefore, they deserve to earn higher incomes.

However, some resent this and feel that some important professionals like doctors, engineers and scientists are working in the favour of society; by ensuring well-being of society, creating healthy environment, or developing technology and discovering new inventions, or researches for betterment of humankind, but sports personnel only entertain public, and still they are making billions, but the former do not get enough in lieu of their contributions. Thus, this gap must be bridged.  

In hindsight, the  outstanding players should be rewarded as they represent their nation and their years of hard work and discipline should not be ignored. However, governments should work to raise the pay of those who are working in crucial sectors, mitigating the income disparity.  


Some suggest that safeguarding the natural surroundings of the destination locations is the onus of those undertaking journeys for tourism. However, this view can be challenged on various grounds by virtue of not being pragmatic.
