Some people think that more money should be spent on good teachers, while others believe that more money should be allocated for computer equipment in school. Discuss both views and share your opinion.
In contemporary times, technology has penetrated the domain of education at large. A few opine that more investments should be made on computers in schools; however, the other lobby asserts that teachers should be prioritized instead.
To begin with, many believe automation plays a pivotal role in conveying advanced skills. Up-to-date devices and facilities can help pupils to adopt new, faster and time saving learning through various applications. To exemplify, there are various apps like Kahoot, Byju’s which help pupils to study online with all the resources available, thereby saving their time.
In addition to the above, one does not have to rely on the faculty anymore for tutoring. Furthermore, this will also assist young individuals to become tech savvy and aid them in coping with professional challenges they may face in future. Hence, more money should be spent on providing laptops in educational institutions.
However, many counter the aforementioned rationale and propound that educators are critical to imparting education: they devote their time and knowledge in assisting learners and preparing them for a successful adult life; thus, they must be given handsome salaries. This will encourage them to invest efforts enthusiastically and expand their skills by espousing state-of-the-art techniques, helping deliver modern education more effectively. For instance, a recent study shows that in New York, eight percent of educators - who were afforded higher compensation - obtained advanced skills by enrolling into new teaching programmes to bolster their knowledge to augment their lesson delivery skills.
To conclude, in my contention, although spending on computers may help to brighten the future of young individuals, teachers play an important role in overall development of youngsters, and can also assist them to learn with all the advancements; therefore, I believe more money should be spent on them.
