Ielts - Private Schools? Disparity?
Privately run schools have always been in the eye of storm over their role in terms of methods of imparting education. People have always felt that these institutions afford such benefits to their students which other schools cannot, so these should be closed.

Private schools nurture and further social concept of “Haves and Have nots", as they extensively invest into expensive educational facilities, which is out of reach of other schools. Smart class concepts, sprawling libraries and laboratories are a far cry for other institutions. Furthermore, involving experts from industry and other agencies and organizing competitive events, in an attempt, to provide extra exposure and foster intellect, among students, often courts controversies. These facilities create serious disparities in availability of equal opportunities in education, thereby impeding even spread of education, and thus creating a wedge between sections from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Besides this, private schools often offer unnecessary frills of leisure activities, like swimming pools, etc. and extracurricular activities, like sports and art. This tends to place students of private schools a league ahead of their counterparts studying in other schools, as the pupils of other institutions are never able to cope up with the competition.

However, closing private educational organizations would be a recipe to disaster, as these agencies have brought about innovation in every aspect of education. The adoption of new methods to train the faculty, to deliver courses, and educate the students has resulted in churning out academic excellence. This costs a great deal money which is usually sourced from the students itself, and if someone is interested in availing such facilities then how can the private institutions be held responsible for being unfair to others.

Henceforth, closing private schools for such a lame excuse would be quite farcical and undesirable.

The government spends about $220 million a year supporting museums and galleries in the  UK and a similar amount subsidizing the visual and performing arts. This is a huge sum to spend on minority interests, and the money would be better spent on more important things. It should be up to the people who enjoy cultural attractions to pay for them. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

With British government allocating substantial money to assist various activities connected to art and culture, critics and advocates of this move have been at poles. The sceptics, quote that finances for such an activity must be sourced from private individuals and admirers, while the supporters feel this allocation is important.

Museums and galleries are fascinating and true communicators of the past of a civilization, as they store genuine artefacts, manuscripts and work of thinkers, etc., of diverse eras of past; and provide visitors a thorough first hand interactive experience, which would be remembered for a long time to come in the future. But these establishments require huge a financial outlay and long term planning, which can be taken care of effectively as a collective responsibility, and government, being the head of the social and political set-up in a country, can only shoulder this responsibility, and render whatever assistance, including financial, possible.

Similarly, performing arts of all kinds are manifestations of wisdom, ethics and ways of life of a community and a nation, that have evolved over the centuries. Preserving and proliferating, can be a stupendous and expensive task that may involve a colossal harmonizing effort on part of the society – that sans any bias towards any particular form of art, and is affordable for common citizens. This can be effectively achieved with help of subsidy and government intervention.

The detractors, however, vehemently defend their view by lobbying that the valuable money of tax-payers should not be channelized into a realm that has few enthusiasts. The money, instead, could be used into more critical areas, like upgrading infrastructure; improving facilities, offered to the citizens, and revitalizing the economy.

I personally feel that government must always take care of social endeavours that involve preserving art and culture.

Ielts Essay - Upbringing city or village
Rearing children has always been considered to be an arduous process, and many have been trying to find ways to ensure a good upbringing. This has triggered a debate over the impact of surroundings on growth of young individuals, as some feel villages offer better settings for such a task, while others vouch for urban surroundings.

Juveniles being brought up in urban areas enjoy a sizeable benefit over their rural counterparts since the former afford everything, that modern lifestyle requires: easy access to quality education facilities, right from schools, universities, libraries and other educational locations: museums and exhibition halls, to world class recreational parks and facilities, like cinemas, discotheques, local parks in the areas of residences. Similarly, a sumptuous dose of exposure to an array of quality infrastructure, like internet, is rendered to growing minds that proves to be quite handy when it comes to learning about various aspects of life.

It is generally believed, most of innovations and development have originated from the cities, and the ones growing up in urbanized locations enjoy access to an unparalleled abundance of opportunities that influence their future course of action. In other words, being brought up in cities makes one more organized and objective in approach, and off course smart enough to identify and grab chances coming their way.

Nevertheless, growing up in a rural setting stimulates a strong sense of community among the children. The countryside offer pollution free surroundings and healthy lifestyle: young ones do not squaner their time indoors, but instead participate in sports and outdoor activities. It has been observed that those reared in rural areas enjoy a robust physical health. Moreover, they also learn to survive within the given resources, unlike their counterparts who are demanding in their approach.

To conclude, even though both, growing up in villages and cities offer distinct advantages, urban locales offer better opportunities for the future progress and lets the upcoming generation establish themselves successfully.

Some people believe that children in schools should learn how advertisements motivate us to buy things. Do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion.

Ielts Essay _ Should schools teach children about ill-effects of Ads?
The explosive growth in the advertisements targeting the children, who today have an unsupervised access to these through a variety of kid specific media, has prompted some to suggest about schools shouldering the responsibility of teaching kids about how adverts persuade people to buy.

It is quite easy for tender minds to get carried away by ads, parents should supervise and educate their kids about this, but, unfortunately parents do not seem to have time to enlighten the kids about the ill-effects of the misleading content the ads carry. Schools, on other hand, are all equipped with necessary environment and framework, like qualified teaching faculty – that understands the kids, and can use various strategies to impart and foster knowledge; and tools needed to help kids pick up important hints about various domains of paramount importance.

Moreover, the schools are vested with the responsibility of fostering cognitive skills of the children and helping them grow up as rational adults, so if the kids could learn about this aspect at schools, they would be well versed about making choices judiciously and not falling prey to the luring techniques of the publicity campaigns.

Despite several people vouching for schools taking up the job of teaching young minds to recognize the evil designs behind the adverts, many find it quite amusing. How could a formal tuition, which is overwhelmingly focused on the academic progress of the kids, take up such a domain? Knowledge about the alluring ways of the advertisements can only be had through practical experience and observations, which can never be had in a controlled environment, with limited exposure. This would also affect the quality of the school curriculum adversely.

In the nutshell, idea of kids learning about luring methods of ads is amusing and quite impractical.

Should long-term job-seekers in receipt of government benefits be made to do voluntary work so that they give something back to the community? - Ielts Essay

Should long-term job-seekers in receipt of government benefits be made to do voluntary work so that they give something back to the community?

Ielts Essay - Volunteer Work for Employment Benefits

Governments, in many countries that maintain a social security network, are mulling a policy to make the unemployed, receiving unemployment grants, to afford free community services. This concept has both takers and critics with their individual opinions to support their arguments.

Those advocating for this notion  propound that this would help convince tax payers that they are not being cheated by the state, and that their hard-earned money is not being channelized to support unproductive inhabitants. Moreover, this arrangement will aid recipients of unemployment privileges, in reciprocating for community support, enable poloicy makers in saving monetary resources otherwise spent on paying the salaries on those locations.

Likewise, this could also rule out any chance of complacency on account of those without a job, and not being able to find one, and, in turn, help in determining the alternative areas where gainful employment could be taken up. Furthermore, it may also help in keeping the unemployed away from taking up crime, as a way to spend free time.

Nevertheless, the concept is in for critical assessment, as it may affect unemployed psychologically.  Most of the times, it has been observed that people who lose, or have to quit, their jobs, is not due to their mistake, the prevalent economic conditions decide the fate of employment. Making them work for free may rob them of the self esteem – a professional working as voluntary is generally not a welcome idea.

To conclude, I feel voluntary work in lieu of unemployment grants is an appropriate response to social and commucial support. All the criticism can be easily overlooked in favor larger public interest; this, in fact, will assist such people too.

More and more qualified people are moving from poor to rich countries to fill vacancies in specialist areas like engineering, computing and medicine. More and more qualified people are moving from poor to rich countries to fill vacancies in specialist areas like engineering, computing and medicine. Some people believe that by encouraging the movement of such people, rich countries are stealing from poor countries. Others feel that this is only part of the natural movement of workers around the world. Discuss and give your opinion.

Ielts - MIgration of Skills
The exodus of workers enjoying profssional dexterity, from developing, to affluent countries has fetched rampant derision, with some arguing that this stealing of skills despite some insisting that it is a natural occurence.

The accusation of elite countries robbing poor nations, of their skilled labor, is accentuated by skilled immigration programs being hosted by several countries that attempt populating domestic labor pools with adequately trained individuals, lure the adequately qualified from all over the world, majorly the developing regions. To make the offers more tempting, umpteen privileges are afforded: allowing immigrants to be accompanied by their families; and granting them permanent residence to entitling them to all the facilities available to the nationals.

Nevertheless, the charges leveled by the critics of this movement make little sense, as those boasting of apposite qualifications and illustrious track records, on their side,  are highly mobile. Such tradesmen, in possession of specialist competence and acumen, feel moving to affluent destinations in search of greener pastures – better remunerations and progressive careers – is well within their rights.

Besides the widely sought professionals, already employed, there are numerous others with qualifications in engineering, medicine and IT, who are either unemployed, or do not have jobs to match their skill sets, in their countries of origins; the most of impoverished countries lack essential infrastructure and resources to generate employment for these people, leaving them with few options but to look for employment in elite economies.

In hindsight, the allegation of rich countries snatching skilled manpower destitute countries of their skilled manpower is baseless, and quite fickle. It is hard to stem the movement of the accomplished and adroit workforce, to better paying venues, that promises rich yields.

Many people believe that women make better parents than men and that is why they have the greater role in raising children in most societies. Others claim that men are just as good as women at parenting. - Ielts Essay

Many people believe that women make better parents than men and that is why they have the greater role in raising children in most societies. Others claim that men are just as good as women at parenting. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Ielts Essay - Who's a Good Parent Men or Women?

When it comes to deciding about who has the potential to be better at parenting, women, as per some conservationists, seem to be miles ahead of their men counterparts, but recent changes in the social roles have forced the social experts to look at this issue once again, with a new perspective.

Modern concept of parenting challenges the supremacy of women, in terms of rearing the children. Fathers, although traditionally have been known to don the roles of social coaches, helping to forge social relations, and emotional guides, teaching the children to deal with emotions – even scary sometimes, they have started performing even those duties, like changing diapers, with an equal finesse.

However, conventional definitions of roles of men and women, in a family, have existed ever since humans evolved on this planet, as hunters and food gatherers. Men were, more or less, concerned with looking for food, while women, donning the roles of rearing children. This role set has continued down the centuries, and perhaps also found its mention in many religious scriptures across the world. Many orthodox societies also define it as a law of nature, where women have been designated to take care of children.

Moreover, various psychological explanations also illustrate why women enjoy an upper hand, in the realm of parenting, over men. They are better equipped with setoff emotions and control mechanism that make them stand apart. Females use a mix of emotions, aggression and strategies to educate, play, monitor and control juveniles. Youngsters quite often find it easier to connect with their mothers since the latter happen to be the first teachers who communicate with kids through linguistics and affection.

In the nutshell, even though both the perspectives hold great substance in their own virtue, I feel that both genders have similar expertise when it comes to rearing offpsring, especially in the modern times.

Some people think it would be a good idea of schools to teach every young person how to be a good parent. To what extent do agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Teaching Parenting to kids a Good Idea?
Since ages, parenting has been a trivial subject for many. Several experts think that it would worthwhile if young ones could be coached about the art of parenting even though there are others who think quite differently.

While attending formal tuitions, young learners are at an age when they are inquisitive and zestful, and whatever skills about parenting are imparted, as a part of formal tuitions, can guarantee building up a strong foundation for a well informed adult life, of which parenting is a part.   Moreover, training about parenting could come in handy at a time when moms and dads cannot devote time for fostering basic skills in their wards. The skills of managing kids are generally grasped by kids by observing their parents, which is not possible these days. The coaching about parenting, about being a good parent, at schools could fill up this gap.

However, the schools are already overburdened with the responsibility of training students in domains that are of paramount importance for the kids. Including such non challenging subjects would actually lead to degradation of quality of syllabus being imparted. This would eventually transform the whole concept of schooling have around unwarranted consequences

Besides this, learning about the skills or being a good parent can wait for later time since minds of children are tender and not adapted to learning about intricacies of a realm as complex as parenting. Even though parenting needs fathers and mothers to follow certain practices, this art cannot be taught. This skill generally involves learning by forging and managing intimate relationships.  In other words, rearing kids is principally learnt, by people involved, from practical experiences.

In the nutshell, I personally feel that parenting is surely not a subject to be included in the syllabus of academics.

The government should control the amount of violence in films and on television in order to decrease the violent crimes in society. In what extent do you agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Media and Crime
The content being aired on television and shown in movies has always been under a critical scanner of various law enforcement agencies and critics across the world. A deep argument rages over whether there is any close link between rising crime and violence being shown on the audio-visual media.

Content being aired on audio-visual media, be it cinema or television soaps, surely has an impact on the viewers. Sadistic scenes on media have become increasingly graphic and often inspire the most susceptible sections of the society, especially the juveniles and the ones with criminal tendencies, as they try to emulate the sensationalized hateful scenes, they are served on media. Regulating the content would surely bring around a fall in graph of crime, and improve the situation to some extent.

Moreover, the scenes and news of violence seems to trigger innate animal instincts in the people, and watching visuals, that portray use of brute force or depiction of savagery, does little to help to keep those instincts dormant. People fear that such scenes and plots inspire viewers to react the way in which the characters, being featured, behave. The fiction seems to turn into a reality for such people. Curtailing such content would surely help in such a case.

However, as various surveys prove, there is not a slightest of connections between the rising violence and sadistic content being shown on media. Whatever is directed and produced for cinema and television is inspired by real life incidents, and aims to inform people of the evils. This content, in no way, tends to incite violence and crime.

To sum up, I personally feel, controversies aside, graphic depiction of violence on entertainment media has not connection with crime and thus there is no need to control such content.

Ielts Essay - Multiculturalism
The modern world order generally entails a population that hails from diverse ethnicities, cultures, regions and corners of the world. This can be easily experienced in various cities and countries, today. This has, however, somehow led to a rigorous argument as some feel that multicultural societies are laden with significant benefits, while other feel that such a social setting is a recipe to disaster.

Housing people from diverse cultures, who also use diverse languages, sometimes, can prove to be counterproductive. Humans, whatever, they may do, cannot brush aside their tribal attitudes and cultural and languages bias, which can surface at any point of time. This can lead to social discord, and some case often end up in civil strife thus making situations turn ugly.

But, nonetheless, countries having sizeable representation from diverse cultures often support a tolerant and receptive outlook, and earn a reputation for being a progressive society. People residing in such vibrant settings often obtain multiple benefits, since they are guaranteed safe social surrounding that sans racial slur, and that promotes acceptability. The governments of such countries make it a point to extend and render support to every section of society. Such communities have known to maintain and sustain a harmonious and peaceful lifestyle for a long time.

Moroever, it is believed that each culture and language carry its distinct content of wisdom and knowledge accumulated by the ancestors of natives, of those cultures and users of tongue, which helps in creating a synergy of efforts, knowledge and wisdom. This integrated knowledge can be harnessed productively and bring in rich returns for the society.

To sum up, I personally feel; in the age of globalized society, living in a multicultural  society would be highly beneficial even though there are some challenges such surroundings pose; however, these can be surmounted by adopting prudent approach by both the state and citizens.

Ielts Essay - Disruptive or Constructive
Schooling is all about mental and physical development of children, in which sports, is believed to have an essential role even though some suggest that this extracurricular activity can affect the pupils negatively since it teaches about competition and not cooperation, unlike originally envisaged. Hence they favor shelving this activity from the school syllabus.

Practicing sports can adversely impact the minds of young learners as they, while playing different games tend to become aggressive and impulsive. Sports promote an attitude to win, and this where the problem lies; the tender minds are trained to win even if it results in bitter rivalry between classmates. This promotes an atmosphere that may not be considered to be conducive for harmonious living.

However, the fears being allayed about disruptive effect of sports can be out rightly rejected. ‘Sports’ as an activity plays a pivotal role in development of overall personality of the students. As various studies suggest, playing games and participation in a sporting activity nurtures cognitive abilities required for appreciating and judging situations, and finding ways to solve problems. Such activities also teach children to be more patient and learn to accept victories and defeats decently, and thus prevent violent behavior.

Apart from that sports, especially games that entail playing in a team, is all about for team work; strategic planning in groups; and creating coordination with other team members. On top of that, skills picked up while practicing sports can be really helpful for the children. They learn about coexistence and living in harmony with people with contrasting views by picking up critical hints about working together in teams.

To conclude, I feel that children should be encouraged to play and participate in sports as this activity is laden with multiple benefits.

Ielts Essay - Career and Lifelong Education
There is a great debate over the relevance of new concept entailing people picking up multiple careers, and pursuing education throughout their lives. There have been several conflicting surveys and opinions on this issue that have their own figure and arguments to quote in support of their specific findings.

Multiple jobs and lifelong education has no relevance. When people are finding it hard to cope-up with the demands and expectations of the jobs they are doing, thinking of gaining multiple qualifications and jobs seems to be a gimmick.

However, picking up multiple careers seems to be a very practical option for the people seeking to raise their incomes to meet rising expenditure. In the recent times, as consumerism sets its foot more firmly, people have started indulging in buying and accessing comforts and leisure. The inclination to possess modern comforts has actually contributed to severely restricting the disposable incomes. To boost the financial resources, people have started exploring idea of taking up additional jobs, and to be able to get work in multiple locations, people have started updating the academic credentials. This trend is expected to continue for a long in future.

Another factor that seems to be leading to people taking up education to get an additional job is connected to fears of insecurity. As the work culture has become competitive, competition quite often leads to bitter rivalry between colleagues with some losing jobs as a result of it. Obtaining education and eventually another job means creating an alternative to weed out any uncertainty that may result due to loss of one of the employments.

Henceforth, the idea of multiple careers and lifelong education are not fair ground attractions that would fade away once they loses their novelty, but are here to stay.

Ielts Essay - Government Dealing with Social Security
Social welfare and delivery of governance has always been a top priority of any democratic set-up, but for some, embracing all areas concerned with welfare of the inhabitants is a daunting task. They feel, creating a bifurcation in the jobs would help, like the state handling defense, infrastructure and utilities, and inviting private participation in other areas.

Governments should be primarily concerned with the issues of greater relevance, but that does not accrue financial returns, like: ensuring external and internal security; developing infrastructure, rendering utilities, etc. Handing over rest of the responsibilities to the private players and community would help the states to streamline their establishments and workforce, and focus on more critical areas.

Such an action would also help in curtailing pilferage and misuse of funds, collected from taxpayers. Since private organizations are guided by an urge to earn profits, it would help ensure an optimal use of funds, and consistent introduction of innovation at various levels of functions in these areas.

However, government is an elected body, which has been given a mandate by the people, who also pay taxes, to take care of various aspects of social life, including welfare. Eliminating or transferring some of the responsibilities to private sector might result in economically weaker sections being further arginalized. It would hard for the state to address basic issues at the grass root level, as the poor may be stripped of the benefits being extended to them. This would surely have dire consequences in long run, and this might affect the overall development of a country.

Overall, I personally feel that idea of handing over essential services to the private sectors is full of flaws, and could pose seirous challenges for the destitute sections. Thus, such a policy must be implemented with caution.

Ielts Essay - Natural Calamities to focus?
There is a consistent argument over the rampant coverage being afforded about instances involving head-turning natural calamities, like earthquakes, etc. as some people think that more emphasis should be given to the dangers and threats that exist near and in the areas where people dwell.

Prioritizing creation of awareness about threats that exist quite close would be highly beneficial; it would  save many lives, that are lost out of sheer negligence. Outbreaks of epidemic, disease, etc. are such instances that can be stopped before they take monstrous proportions if citizens are made aware of causes and carriers of such hazards. If governments instead focus on enlightening people about such dangers, several valuable lives can be saved.

Moreover, numerous burning issues, like rising incidence of drug abuse among the youth; crime by juveniles; instances of reckless driving,  and so on. right under the nose of people, often pass unnoticed  as those issues fail to draw appropriate attention of media, local inhabitants and requisite authorities. If public is enlightened about the creeping menace, like these, one could become vigilant and embrace imerative safeguards to curtail such endeavors, and in process, could nip the evil in its bud.

Nevertheless, war, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis and hurricanes, to name a few. always strike unannounced. Even though these calamities cannot be stopped, thousands can be saved by timely actions. If inhabitants residing in an area –  prone to a certain kind of natural disaster, or is located near the border – can be informed about possible events in advance, they can evacuate from those locations.

To conclude, I personally feel that none of the factors that threaten lives should be ignored since both kinds of events can jeopardize safety of society. Thus, focus should evenly distributed over all issues that can jeopardize public safety.

Under British and Australian laws a jury in a criminal case has no access to information about the defendant’s past criminal record. This protects the person who is being accused of the crime. Ielts Essay - Concealing Part Records Of Criminals
Giving fair trials to the accused has been a practice of law world over since ages. In countries where the jury system prevails, the jury members are not informed about the track record of the people facing trials. This allows law to take its own course and deliver impartial judgments though some people raise objections to this.

Various law experts vouch for continuation of such a system, as it helps upholding the tenets of fair trial and delivery of judgments. Concealing the past records of the people, is supposed to be the right approach to ensure a fair trial. It is the basic human right as per human rights organizations, every human should be allowed an opportunity to present their case adequately, either to prove their innocence, or more facts about the circumstances in which they committed crime.

Moreover, discrimination against ex-convicts is rampant in the society. A common notion, ‘Once a criminal always a criminal’, may not hold true in every case. The jury members are also humans, and some might act overzealously, thus, it is quite likely that jury might take predetermined decisions. Concealing past history would help ensure flawless judgments that are not biased; influenced – by adverse views of jury members; preconceived; and are arrived at by following proper procedures during investigations of the purpose and the circumstances of the offence.

However, revealing the facts of past record of the activities can prove to be substantial in case of the assessing the modus operandi of hardened criminals. This would greatly help in drawing a clear line between coincidental, otherwise unintentional first timers and the ones who are used to committing crimes frequently.

To conclude, I feel that scrapping the law of concealing past records of criminals would help in assessing crimes correctly.

Firm discipline is a necessary part of teaching children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Discipline and Learning
Making a choice between teaching young learners in a disciplined or free environment has always confused humans. Some people feel that for good results in academics and otherwise, it is highly essential for the students to be educated in a closely monitored environment.

Discipline, especially in education, entails establishment of a plausible mechanism that leads to systematic execution of tasks, such as planning, defining and imparting lessons and setting deadlines for assignments, which, in turn, encourages meaningful learning, on part of the pupils. The students, as it has been observed, tend to grab the things much better under the watchful eyes of their teachers, as the learners also fear reprimand in case the performance is found lacking, or assignment or work is not being completed within the given deadlines.

Moreover, controlled and closely monitored environment does not necessarily mean punishing students for their shortfalls; it also involves making students appreciate value of time and efforts. It has been observed in many schools and colleges that despite students not being physically or mentally punished for any shortcomings, they tend to behave responsibly and put their all out efforts to achieve their best, since they know what they could lose if they fail to perform as per the expectations of their tutors and pedagogues.

However, for children to learn better, it is not at all necessary to impose strict control. The creativeness knows no boundary, and the children educated in an environment that sans harsh retribution turn out to be intelligent and grow up innovative adults. People like, Thomas Edison are live examples of this.

In the nutshell, I personally feel although not subjecting children to harsh discipline may seem to be an attractive option; it is the necessity for the good of the children

Many people believe that a member of family is more important than a friend. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Family or Friends?
Making comparisons between friends and family members, considering family members important than friends and vis-à-vis, has been a common practice since long. The pitch of these comparisons, and prioritizing both over each other, becomes sharper and shriller, when a family or an individual is passing through a turbulent phase.

Family members are an important part of life of any individual, as a person, born and brought up in an environment of family is trained to behave and face life in all its diverse dimensions. A child, since its birth, always looks up to its elders for love and affection, which ultimately develops into strong lifelong bonding. The parents, and brothers and sisters, fulfill the emotional and psychological needs of an individual and always stand by him or her whenever there is a need.

Apart from that, even if relations between family members are strained, they do not turn their backs at each other when the situation arises, and always come to the rescue of each other. People have experienced that they can share even their   ill feelings more openly with their family members and still keep the relations sweet and on friendly terms. For instance, people in need of moral or any kind of support, including financial, can easily bank upon their parents and siblings.

However, friends are considered to be close to heart, with whom an individual can easily share even the darkest of secrets, without fear of secret being let out to others. Pals, or buddies, as they may be called, are always there when an individual needs them, especially when a person in pain and needs a shoulder to cry on.

To conclude, I personally feel, even though friends and family are both have their distinct importance and role for an individual,  parents and siblings hold more  relevance for an individual.

As public safety is one of the highest importance, it is often necessary to test new products on animals. It is better for a few animals to suffer than for human life to be placed at risk by untested products. In what extent do you agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Cruelity on Animal
Off late as the animal lovers have been raising their pitch against use of animals being used as test beds for medicines and cosmetics, various sections of the society have been at poles. Some feel this is testing on animals is sheer cruelty, while others think that there is nothing wrong in this.

Activists vouching for animal rights feel that testing impact of medicines and other substances is unethical since this involves subjecting poor animals to the trauma of sickness and disease. It is quite cruel to put lives of animals in danger for the sake of humans.

However, testing on animals has been going on since a long time, and the animals used for experiments are not on the endangered list, but ones that perish or are killed, each year, by use of rat poison, rat traps, etc. Several million humans owe their lives to the successful lab simulations on the animals. The effectiveness and safety of use of such formulations were actually proven by these very tests.

Similarly, scores of medicines and surgical procedures have been perfected with the help of lab testing on the rats and mice. Although nowadays scientists are happy carrying out tests on simulated environment of computers, it is impossible to test use and effectiveness of pacemakers, reattaching severed limbs and procedures like kidney and heart transplants on virtual environment. All of these processes were actually tested and perfected in clinical trials. Without using animals for testing formulations or procedures for effectiveness and safety, the medical field would come to a standstill and jeopardize lives of millions of patients waiting desperately for some respite from their medical conditions.

To conclude, I feel that there is nothing wrong in carrying out experiments  on animals for sake of saving humans lives.

Ielts Essay - Disparate field of Medicine
The progress in disparate fields of medicine have made it possible for humans to opt for a treatment of their choice, but certain people feel that more than following any specific system of medicine, it is more important for a patient to have faith in treatment and be mentally convinced about the outcomes.

It is highly necessary for the people, suffering from ailments, disease or disorders, to be convinced about the ability of the medical practitioners, dispensing treatment, in identifying the disease; finding the appropriate medicine, that could treat a medical condition; and prescribe the correct potency and quantity of the medication. This is very important, as far as, conviction about being able to overcome disease is concerned since without positive attitude towards effectiveness of a medicine system, patient would never be able to convince themselves about getting better.

Apart from that, a person undergoing a treatment also needs to have a strong resolve about following and continuing the prescribed routine of treatment, that includes: the frequency and the quantity of the medicine to be taken; the number of days the prescribed medicine must continue; and when the patient needs to revisit the practitioner for a health and medicine review. It is also very important for the patients not to abandon the treatment, without doctor’s advice, even if they start feeling relieved and healthy during the course of the treatment. In continuation to that, patients should be prepared to follow the prescribed exercise and diet routines. They must remember that it was their unhealthy lifestyle, in most cases, that landed them in trouble.

To sum up, to derive appropriate benefits from a specific medical treatment, it is highly necessary for the patients to be hopeful and sure of obtaining relief from treatment.

Most pollution, especially air and water pollution, is caused by industry. If we want to protect the environment, we should make factories and other forms of industry pay of all the pollution that they cause. That is the only way to make sure that the owners will make a serious effort to reduce the pollution that they cause. To what extent do you agree or disagree? - Ielts Essay

Ielts Essay - Is taxing Polluters a Viable Solution?
If observed closely, it is quite evident that mushrooming manufacturing units have become a major source of pollution of all the spheres of the planet – air, water and land. This has alarmed environmentalists, and forced them to raise their pitch for imposing tax on the manufacturing sector to encourage erring manufacturers to adopt green technologies.

Taxing the errant manufacturers to compensate for all the pollution, they are creating, would prove to be a highly productive step. The manufacturers would be persuaded to incorporate greener practices, and use environmental friendly material – instead of high content contaminants, as the production process would become costlier, as a result of imposition of additional levies – that might render the final products unfeasible for competitive markets. Commercial compulsions, to keep the costs down in the long run, would force them producers to shelve age old technologies and try innovative techniques that produce lesser pollutants.

Moreover, manufacturers must realize that they are also a part of the society with which they share this planet. Imposing environment levies would make them appreciate social responsibility, and they would be inspired to adopt eco-friendly approach.   Furthermore, the money collected from levies for polluting environment could be used to clean up environment, and also find environment friendly alternatives.

However, there are certain apprehensions in the implementation of such a step. It is commonly believed that manufacturers even after being taxed would not be convinced to make necessary changes in their methods of production and their practices since they would be more interested in transferring the levies to the customers in form of slightly inflated prices of the goods.

To sum up, I personally feel that imposing taxes would inspire manufacturers to adopt environment friendly technologies, and consequently bring down pollution. Therefore, this policy should be enacted for the larger good: for public and the environment.
