Many people believe that eighteen years old is the appropriate age to finish school. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

There is fierce debate going on whether getting a high school degree at a specific age, eighteen, is mandatory. Some favour this notion, while others reject it.  

Proponents  of this notion assert that till age of eighteen, learners grow up to be mentally prepared for enrolling themselves in college, or for competitive exams, resulting in them settling in their career at an early age; and gaining experience about life skills no educational institution can afford them. To corroborate, a survey conducted in California University revealed that sixty five percent youngsters are well settled on higher positions at the very young age, fetching handsome packages, and they credit this to completing their schooling years as stipulated. Moreover,  one can get an opportunity to explore myriads of career paths and decide one that aligns with their ambitions perfectly. 

Nevertheless, some are skeptical about this idea and profess that not all the pupils progress at the same pace; some take a little longer due to academic struggle, personal reasons, precipitating delays in education. It has been observed that many individuals drop school and pursue their interests: travelling, painting, and so on, and rejoin the school to complete the formal education. Likewise, there are several Asian, Oriental and African societies that, although follow modern educational systems, they persuade their wards to either join their family businesses, or opt for trade certifications, after completing a certain level, matriculation for example. In this case, continuing school education up to one turns into a major becomes irrelevant.    

In hindsight, I partially agree with this perspective; this is an individual prerogative and dependent on circumstances: some go on to finish higher secondary and within the mandated tenure, while others are impacted by their surroundings, and may choose to extend, or abandon it.
