Innovation is often driven by the pursuit of profit and economic growth. However, some argue that it should prioritize addressing social and environmental issues. Discuss both sides and give your own opinion.

A faction of society believes ingenuity is motivated by monetary rewards, others feel the primary aim of it should be the upheaval of society and ecology. This essay shall discuss both viewpoints to elucidate a plausible conclusion.

To begin with, proponents of environment professes that novel technologies should aim to be the cornerstone of tremendous growth of mankind as a whole: it is the advent of these marvels that can afford an easygoing lifestyle, wherein tasks requiring mammoth efforts can be achieved quickly: enhancements in construction technologies can make building skyscrapers effortless, something that nowadays accounts for decades of construction, causing wastage of natural resources and manpower, and insurmountable harm to the environment.

Additionally, incrementing productivity in the workforce should be another goal of inventive endeavors, like machines being equipped to automate recurring tasks, allowing workers dedicating resources and time to intellect-intensive undertakings, to gain dexterity and traits of multitasking, thereby enabling them to dedicate quality-time to their social commitments. Similarly, appropriate efforts should be charted for eco-centric researches for the preservation of the planet and alike conservation of its pristine natural habitats, carbon-neutral manufacturing processes to ensure perpetuation of a hospitable environment for living beings.

On the other hand, the advocates  of innovation-driven economy eulogize the umpteen venues of socioeconomic growth that have been generated for everyone - profits for businesses, employment for millions and revenues worth billions. This further benefits governments by letting them net colossal revenues and strategically positioning these activities for social transformation. According to a survey conducted in India, technological advancements added thirty hours a week of manpower, on average, in the last decade.

Overall, ground-breaking research equally benefits humanity and ecology, besides creating economic value and monetary surplus, stimulating striking a balance between both the aims to bring the best out of each novel endeavor.
