Does this kind of accommodation have more advantages or disadvantages?

  • No hassles for parking

  • Round the clock power back up and water

  • Unmatched security for dwellers

  • Peaceful atmosphere

Disadvantages of living in large apartment blocks

  • Lack of privacy

  • No alterations possible - exterior or interior - without permission

  • No access to rooftop terrace

Nowadays, although a majority are inclined to living in large gated societies with apartments, for they profess this affords them innumerable benefits, it will be too naive to overlook the detriments such settings bring along.

To begin with, such accommodation fetches a myriad of benefits: round the clock power and water supply,  shopping facilities, peaceful  environment, and so on. These arrangements have provisions to afford uninterrupted power through their own generation systems and have huge water reservoirs to fulfill the needs of residents. Moreover, by virtue of having outlets within the premises, it is easy to buy for their needs without leaving the safety of their housing society.

Furthermore, one can experience a quality life in such surroundings; these settings offer services such as parks, gyms and playgrounds for children within their premises. Consequently, saving effort needed to be invested into running from pillar to post to exercise, spend leisure time, or escort little ones to distant parks to allow them to engage in physical endeavors. These factors contribute majorly towards 80% of urbanites, in cities like New York and London, preferring to choose these residential arrangements over privately owned houses.

However, the pitfalls despite being minuscule, pester those  averse to such settings. They are more concerned about their privacy, something missing in apartments. One cannot enjoy their leisure time, organize noisy parties at their homes since they must take into account the likes and dislikes of their neighbors. Another is the absence of freedom to carry out alterations, it is a far cry to receive approvals from society managements.

Overall, even though buying or leasing accommodation relies on budgets and choices, life in housing societies come with umpteen benefits and shortcomings; nonetheless, the former effortlessly eclipse the latter. These will prove instrumental in supporting urban living.
