Computers today can quickly and accurately translate languages, therefore, it is a waste of time to learn a foreign language. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The great public discourse of contemporary times is aligned with the issue of whether acquiring alien linguistic skills is a squandering of precious time, or not, when software-driven translation facilities are available. I shall profoundly analyze this matter and elucidate my inclination.

An army of people vehemently lobbies behind the idea that now undertaking a language course is wasteful. As per them, this is a time consuming process since it usually takes humongous time to get a good command over a language, whereas using automated tools to transfer the text from one to the other tongue can allow one to complete the task in a few seconds.

Besides this, this innovation affords the convenience of converting the content into multiple languages effortlessly, there is little rationale left in spending money on language courses as a feat of mastering multiple dialects is beyond imagination for humans. To corroborate the outcomes of a survey carried-out by Delhi University revealed that only a few Individuals were inclined to  learn an alien language, owing to a plethora of softwares available in the smartphones to convert audios and texts into multiple tongues. .

Nevertheless, undeniably, knowledge of foreign languages is pivotal to clear communication between cultures. Humans rely mostly on in person interaction and use of technology is bound to create a gap, due to faulty interpretations by machines: these can extend their services to the phrases and lexical resources present in their database. Thus, automated facilities can only help in casual communications and not important ones.

In hindsight, even though by virtue of the advent of computers, for many commentators learning other languages may not be worthwhile,  it is hard to overlook that language is a human forte, and  thus can only be operated effectively by humans.
