Nowadays many people are trying to earn more and more to get rich. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being rich?

In contemporary times, a majority have the propensity to amass as much wealth as possible, to become prosperous. However, one must be careful;  although affluence has numerous benefits to offer, it also has some darker shades.   

On the effulgent side, having abundant monetary resources is extremely essential as one does not need to sacrifice their dreams and desires. They can buy whatever they want without giving a second thought. Moreover, they are considered powerful in society as they enjoy good connections with politicians and the influential, bringing them more respect and visibility. Furthermore, they can afford quality education to their little ones by enrolling them in elite schools and colleges. A survey conducted by the University of Canada West revealed that approximately sixty five of respondents felt that being wealthy was a favorable status, especially when it came to carving a bright future for their next generation by bringing them excellent education.

On the obsidian side, this status exposes one to umpteen pitfalls: not getting enough time for loved ones; the rich are so busy earning that they often forget they have life outside the workplace or businesses. This also has implications for their health, in the form of  stress, depression, and so on. Moreover, it has been observed that those with surfeit money become greedy  and often lose their good friends. Apart from that,  their children also grow up as arrogant individuals who are apathetic towards others, and  often go astray.   

To conclude, indeed, being financially well-off has innumerable benefits, for it brings luxurious lifestyles, good education, and so on, but one often starts chasing the mirage of gaining more and more financial resources. It has been mentioned in the annals that one must be prudent in using their resources to enjoy eliteness.
