A strong argument appears to be surfacing, nowadays, that practical knowledge is an imperative element of the school going children. However, despite offering umpteen benefits, this proposal lacks substance and promises a myriad of challenges. This essay shall examine this notion profoundly and shall elucidate inclination in the following paragraphs.

To embark upon discussion, a prominent lobby strongly propounds that affording academic knowledge to the school goers, should be accompanied with training in practical abilities: carrying out minor repairs in the vehicles, can be extremely helpful in times of emergency like flat tyre or an engine overheat; transacting in banks and other financial institutions, like depositing cash and using ATM machines, opening a bank account and signing a cheque, to name a few can be of immense support in later life.

On the flip side, another school of thought opposes and argues that this will be a sheer waste of invaluable time, for this is likely to cause deviations and distractions from their academic pursuits, making young minds lose their focus, eventually leading to poor grades in the long run. Consequently, some might fail to get admitted into renowned universities. A recent study revealed that the children aging from 13-16 are most vulnerable to bad influence and lose interest in studies faster than any other age group and hence, should be motivated to concentrate only on academics till they clear their higher education.

To recapitulate, disputes aside, even though there may be numerous pros to this phenomenon, but nonetheless the pitfalls clearly eclipse the former and it can be safely asserted that young pupils should be made to prioritize their primary objective, gaining academic finesse at formal tuition.
