The leaders of most organizations tend to be older people. However, some argue that younger people make better bosses.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In this tech-savvy world, a group of people propound that young minds are best decision makers and more suitable for managerial roles; however, others believe experienced supervisors are more proficient for such tasks. This essay shall delve deeper into this matter and draw a plausible conclusion.

Many believe young adults are broad-minded, energetic, tech savvy and quick decision makers. They can effortlessly set precedents for their subordinates, and are open to feedback from their juniors. Similarly, by virtue of being educated in an environment influenced by modern concepts and technology, they can engage modern methods and technology for making quick decisions and ensuring well-being of working staff. To corroborate a survey by Times that reveals that a majority of personnel are comfortable working under young individuals; they experience better workplace culture, and their suggestions are welcomed by top management.

Nevertheless, some  argue that leadership qualities can only be augmented with seasoning: those who have been through the thick and thin can plan and manage effectively. Old executives are well-organized and possess expertise in their subject matter, which is a boon for both organization and human resources. Moreover, they have a pragmatic vision and their accomplishments help them make accurate predictions. Workers supervised by them feel assured, inquisitive and gain valuable experience from by operating under their aegis. According to one study, organizations facing operational challenges prefer to hire personnel in their forties or fifties, in principal roles as their involvement can be beneficial for the growth of business and staff.

Overall, I partially concur with this notion, for where the business needs to embrace modern technology like IT, those in their young age can effectively lead from the front, but when it comes to strategic forays, older workers are more suitable for governance.

People’s behaviour varies from country to country. When traveling to a different country, people should copy the behaviour and habits of the inhabitants of the country they visit. Do you agree or disagree?

People’s behaviour varies from country to country. When traveling to a different country, people should copy the behaviour and habits of the inhabitants of the country they visit. Do you agree or disagree?

Yes

  • To be accepted by locals more closely “When in Rome, do as Roman do”, rendering them a chance to look at the host ways of life more closely

  • THis can also prevent them from offending local aspirations

  • Protection from becoming victims of crimes

No

  • Against the globalized  ethos: those visiting are there to experience diversity and not abandon their own beliefs.

  • Harboring hostile attitudes may hamper the reputation of the country and keep visitors away: affecting the tourism badly, and earnings in foreign exchange

  • Affecting the relationships between societies

Many suggest that those undertaking journeys to diverse regions of the globe must embrace the ways of the life of the host society. This proposal is quite prudent, and promises rich experiences to those visiting alien surroundings

To begin with, making adjustments in the attitude to complement the native lifestyles of the destination can help  visitors prevent themselves from becoming the subject of wrath(anger) of the locals, and instead being accepted more readily by the latter; they feel that their customs have been acknowledged. This can precipitate(result in creating ) a conducive environment, wherein one can explore differences and also uniqueness of the culture being visited, and create nostalgic memories, thereby fulfilling the fundamental purpose of travelling. Several travelogues written by avid backpackers (keen travellers ) clearly highlight the relevance of this aspects as most were well-received by people of countries they went to simply because they followed local traditions and even etiquettes.

On top of that, following this strategy can be of great avail to the ones visiting other parts of the world by virtue of safeguarding them from criminal activities and unwarranted situations. It has been often observed that foreign travellers tend to become easy victims of petty crimes, or overcharging.  However, familiarising oneself with ways endemic to the destination nation such as wearing the local attire, learning and using the local dialect, and so forth, allows mingling with natives effortlessly, and being treated equally. A growing number report that when they behaved the same way, a national would do, illegal elements stayed away and the shopkeepers treated them with respect and with equality.

In hindsight, it can be safely asserted that when in Rome, do as Romans do,so that one can enjoy their travel, experience the customs and traditions of host societies more closely.

Intro 1:- In times, when more and more are undertaking journeys to diverse regions of the globe their conduct has come under a critical scanner, and many suggest that they should embrace the ways of life of the host society. Although some challenge this practice, I believe that this is the most prudent way of experiencing an alien surrounding. Intro 2 :- Of late, a suggestion has surfaced that those undertaking journeys to diverse regions of the globe must embrace the ways of life of the host society.I concur with this proposal, and shall elucidate reasons to validate(support/bolster/augment) my stand/stance in the following paragraphs. Tourism is a modern form of colonialism. It distorts local economies, causes environmental damage and ruins the places it exploits. To what extent would you support or reject this idea?

The attitudes towards tourism being a form of  imperialism are ambivalent; there are sections that affirm that this sector is bringing several accolades for the nation, while others feel it is engendering environmental issues. In this essay, I shall elucidate my stance on this matter by deliberating upon the various aspects of this industry.

At the outset, those rallying behind this notion base their rationale on the fact that tourism brings forth people from diverse cultures and ethnicities together, empowering harmony between disparate communities, and promulgating bonhomie. Moreover, in order to  cater to the growing need of the industry, many professions have been founded, especially in the hospitality and transportation sector . This has seen multifold increment in the employment opportunities for the masses and bringing colossal revenue owing to the tourist developments leading to generating monetary benefits.

However, the opponents might argue that tourism leads to expanding carbon footprint and tourists act in an irresponsible manner by creating a menace by littering around and defacing places.Nevertheless, this underlying notion can be challenged as the benefits reaped from this industry are umpteen: Owing to this, invaluable foreign exchange is being generated leading to reforming economies. More and more tourist destinations are being developed, making people aware and proud of their own cultural heritage.

Therefore, it can be asserted that this industry has witnessed an unprecedented influx of tourists in the contemporary times and aids in fetching unmatched yields such as facilitating cultural exchange, development of infrastructure, and generating sumptuous revenue.

Some people believe that children should not be given homework every day, while others believe that they must get homework every day in order to be successful at school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people believe that children should not be given homework every day, while others believe that they must get homework every day in order to be successful at school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people feel that children should not be given homework? Why?

  • Children are already stressed out since there is a lack of extracurricular activities in schools due to academic pressure, adding home assignments to the itinerary can make things harder for them.

  • Home assignments rob the youngsters of the time they could invest in other activities: sports, socializing with family and friends

  • Can have detrimental effects on their health as doing homework would promote sedentary lifestyles.

  • They never get a chance to develop other critical skills: lifeskills, social skills

Some people feel that children should be given homework? Why?

  • Doing homework lets children consolidate whatever has been imparted at the school

  • If they encounter doubts while doing assignments at home, they can know that and seek clarification the next day.

  • They get a chance to learn and study independently in an environment  that sans  guidance of teachers

  • This also lets them stay connected with the studies

Home assignments being afforded on a daily basis has evoked mixed responses: while a school of thought is skeptical of this practice and demands discontinuation, others want to perpetuate it.

Those  disapproving of this exercise found/base their opinion on the humongous stress young school goers have to bear day after day by virtue of demanding academic routines at school, wherein they get few opportunities to destress themselves. The situation worsens/exacerbates when they are handed over work for home, robbing them of little time they are left with to engage in extracurricular activities/endeavors such as playing sports and participating in other undertakings that can help them relax and rejuvenate, ensuring augmenting there mental and physical health.

Similarly, easing up this burden can allow some spare time for juveniles to learn about other more essential things such as socializing with their peers and friends; behaving politely with others; and practicing their hobbies to discover their creative persona. This can help them grow up as rational and well-informed adults, capable of leading a successful life in social, personal and familial realms.

Nevertheless, several educationalists advocate sustaining this regime  since it allows pupils in a myriad/several of ways: students can consolidate whatever they learn in the classroom on a given day by repeating at their home; they can discover the gaps in their learning that they can clarify following day; and develop in attitude to study independently, which could foster habit of exploring topics without external assistance.

Overall, it can be asserted that even though homework is essential for effective education, giving it day after day can deprive young minds of chances to learn other essential traits. Thus, this should be discontinued.

Overall, after assessing both the sides of the coin, it can be asserted that even though homework is essential for effective education, giving it day after day can deprive young minds of chances to learn other essential traits. Thus, this should be discontinued.

Nowadays many people are trying to earn more and more to get rich. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being rich?

In contemporary times, a school of thought believes that it is good that  a majority population is making efforts to amass as much wealth as possible since it fetches umpteen favors. But, others feel that it has numerous pitfalls. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss both the aspects.

To start with, many think there are numerous benefits of being affluent as with money one can make their life very comfortable by affording all luxuries that a person can dream of. Also, it is possible to secure the future and of the upcoming generation as they can have a proper plan and things to grow their financial resources. Similarly, the rich can provide themselves with safeguards for the times of emergency such as when there is a crisis, or any other type of problem. Additionally, prosperity also brings respect in the society as it places the elite in the superior category and also governments are with them since the latter also get help from the former in form of funds whenever required for development of the country.

In contrast,  having a lot of wealth is also a cause of problems as it brings a lot of stress. There are innumerable chances of robbery, or kidnapping as sumptuous money is dangerous as others become jealous. Furthermore, the wealthy also become arrogant and do not treat others with respect since they think they are more superior. Apart from that, it is commonly seen that those with an abundance of financial resources become greedy to earn more and more

To conclude, prosperity has both sides which the elite has to face. Therefore, the prosperous must always be careful in enjoying the benefits and also planning to overcome problems associated with being elite.

Politicians are more responsible for the protection of the environment than individuals. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Politicians are more responsible for the protection of the environment than individuals. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Why governments

  • They enjoy the jurisdiction over the land and  have been vested with powers to make laws and create a framework to persuade (with help of punitive measures) or coax (encouragement) people into following eco-friendly policies.

  • They have the resources - both money and manpower to handle task of such a greater  multitude.

  • Environment is not confined to a limited area, so it is the regime that can ensure prevent exacerbation the condition

  • They also have a clear view of the impending catastrophes due to being in possession of expert resources.

  • They have been allocated  the  responsibility of creating a sound living condition for the populace

Or citizens? Why (not what they are doing)

  • It is them who are actually creating a mess and if they act responsibly, the evil will be nipped in its bud. It is their requirements that is setting the whole system of creating pollution into movement

  • If inhabitants fail to comply nothing will be effective

  • They are a basic unit of society and if they come together, they can push the state to establish policies.

  • History has been a witness that when individuals take initiative, others follow the precedents:

Should it be the lawmakers taking the ownership in mitigating environmental deterioration, or should citizens also play their part in this endeavor, is a matter that needs to be profoundly evaluated.

NEHA

Contemporary times are facing the biggest jeopardy, the planet losing its vitality, making it imperative to take steps to halt the deterioration. Thus, experts spar over who has a greater role to play in this undertaking, while some put the onus of policymakers, others feel the populace cannot escape this responsibility.

The state enjoys the jurisdiction to create and enforce eco-friendly policies and regulations at large. These laws can have a significant impact on industries, resource management, and conservation efforts, for the statutes are backed by abundant resources such as monetary, expertise and manpower, to assure desirable outcomes. On top of that, strict deployment of stipulations can make everyone fall in line since no one, a business or a private citizen would like to be handed down a penalty or punishment, persuading everyone to follow the designed norms.

Nevertheless, some commentators think that the citizens  can help create a better and sustainable environment around their neighborhood, since if they take the onus, the evil can be nipped in its bud. To corroborate, embracing eco-friendly practices, such as recycling, and reducing energy consumption, at household level, can go a long way in surmounting the impending ecological catastrophe. Moreover, they can also influence political priorities and agendas. For instance, in 2000, consumer forums of the EU prevailed upon their regime to bring in laws to prescribe use of such chemicals to color fabrics and clothing, that harmed the planet, and the latter were forced to create such policies, helping protect water bodies where the residue was discharged after producing coloring material. .

Overall,  the mantle of protecting the environment should be donned by both parties. Effective environmental protection stipulates a balance between government policies, regulations, and individual actions; a collaborative approach is essential to address the complex environmental challenges.

Young people are often influenced in their behaviors by others in the same age group. Some argue that peer pressure is important, while others feel it has distinct disadvantages.. Do the disadvantages of peer pressure on youngsters outweigh the advantages?

Young people are often influenced in their behaviors by others in the same age group. Some argue that peer pressure is important, while others feel it has distinct disadvantages..
Do the disadvantages of peer pressure on youngsters  outweigh the advantages?

Benefits

  • Friends and acquaintances of the same age tend to encourage one to perform better in academics

  • This persuades one to think and analyze critically and opt for a stable profession

  • Helping foster high intellect

  • This also helps boost confidence

  • This can also push one to pursue health goals

Drawbacks

  • Promotes dangerous habits

  • Persuades one to compete for materialistic possession, making one extravagant

  • Face immense stress due to competitive situation created by such influence

Being impacted by friends and acquaintances almost in all walks of life is a ubiquitous phenomenon among youngsters, but does it carry more demerits than merits, remains to be seen.

To commence with, it is generally feared that following the precedents of those around can have severe ramifications(devastating effects) on young mindsets, for they can go astray, and pick up unacceptable habits. A study attempting to discover how teenagers take to smoking, revealed that about 30 percent admitted that they were persuaded by their classmates or friends who themselves smoked. Moreover, some also tend to become extravagant after observing the lavish lifestyle of their counterparts since they find such a play of living quite luring.

Nevertheless, despite the concerns being highlighted about the unwarranted outcomes of emulating others that carry some substance, incidence of such specimens is infrequent and sporadic. As a matter of fact, umpteen success stories have emerged out of the anecdotes narrated by accomplished individuals from various spheres of life. Successful businessmen, scientists and even sports professionals credit their attainments to be the effect of coaxing by their classmates and their friends who pushed each other to go an extra mile and bring improvements in their performance .

Likewise, using the footsteps as benchmarks helps not only choose the correct path, in terms of studies and professions, but also find mediums to chase those goals successfully. For example, if one in the friend circle becomes a doctor or an engineer, others in that group are likely to pursue similar professions, and use resources utilised by peers.

In hindsight, undeniably, there are some detrimental repercussions of the peer effect, these are extremely rare and negligible, whereas the rewards of this propensity and trend are numerous and effortlessly exceed the former.

Being swayed by the conduct of those surrounding, especially hailing from the same  age groups,  youngsters is a common phenomenon. While some believe that this tendency plays a positive role in shaping behavior and encouraging growth, others argue that it can lead to harmful choices and stress. However, it remains to be seen whether  the latter surpasses the former.

Many suggest that the impact of friends and acquaintances on  youngsters carry both merits and demerits, but which of these overwhelm each other is a matter that needs a critical analysis.

Do you think the advantages of globalization outweigh  disadvantages? Give your opinion in at least 250 words with relevant examples from your own experience.

Benefits of globalization

Individuals

  • They are able to communicate with others, regardless of political boundaries, creating  understanding between diverse ethnicities, cultures and nationalities, creating harmonious relationships and helping brush aside tribal attitudes by broadening their mindsets.

  • People can go to other parts of the world  - due to information and  facilities being easily accessible - and  fulfill their objectives; education, employment, medical intervention, leisure and even business opportunities.

  • **Rendering visibility to all cultures.

  • People are now able to obtain goods and services of similar quality and at similar prices anywhere in the world

Businesses

  • Companies can now access markets in any part of the world unhindered: absence of protective barriers have rendered  an unprecedented ease to businesses

  • Can access cheap labor and raw material anywhere in the world

Economies and countries

  • Transfer of technology and expertise has become relatively easier  since free trade has become a new normal due to global concepts.

  • Impoverished economies are getting a  much needed infusion of capital and expertise that is generating employment for millions and business worth billions and revenues of the state.

  • Companies  of rich countries are able to access cheap resources: manpower, raw material and infrastructure easily, reducing the operational costs.

  • Global problems like  pollution and  crime are being handled more effectively now due to sharing of information and establishment of common platforms.

Drawbacks

  • ** Conservatives are wary of this, they fear that their cultures are on the verge of extinction due to people becoming inclined to wearing global identity. Many regard it as a cultural invasion under the garb of global aspirations.

  • Killing the local entrepreneurial skills of poor economies: they are unable to face the competition from giant MNC’s. Many fear that the day is not far when the weak economies  will be overtaken by rich nations.

  • This is causing unemployment in rich countries

  • Transmission of disease has become easier, as  illustrated by the spread of coronavirus, affecting almost every inhabitant.

  •  Crime  has also become global.

The concurrent world order is highly global in nature, and has influenced every wail of life, by fetching both merits and demerits, but do the former outshine the latter, is an issue that needs a critical analysis.

These  recently evolving settings have had the most favourable impact on people across the globe; they can effortlessly and seamlessly communicate with their counterparts, regardless of their location, and share their views and opinions without restrictions, helping establish a conducive dialogue and environment, and bringing  cultures together, thereby creating harmony. For instance, festivals, food,  and various forms of art, of different countries, are being increasingly appreciated by everyone world over.

Similarly, at the macro level, the poor economies have been the biggest beneficiaries of this arrangement since they have been able to develop themselves with the help of infusion of much needed capital, expertise, technology, and global connections being brought in by gigantic multinationals hailing from prosperous nations. This has enabled them to create jobs for their skilled workforce, establish infrastructure and so on. Several Asian and African countries owe their progress to this phenomenon.

Nevertheless, the conservatives, despite being backed by unfounded fears, throw up arms in horror,  and compare this evolution with colonialism, wherein the rich part of the world is trying to gain control of impoverished regions through cultural and commercial invasion. However, the ground realities exhibit a completely contrasting picture:the poor nations have been able to use this medium to create resources for preserving their culture and also engender local entrepreneurial skills.

In hindsight, disputes aside, the rewards yielded by globalization are numerous and easily eclipse its alleged shortcomings, and hold several promises for mankind. This arrangement is there to stay, and very soon the world will transform into a global village.

Nowadays many people are trying to earn more and more to get rich. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being rich?

Nowadays many people are trying to earn more and more to get rich. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being rich?

Since time unknown, people have been chasing the dream of becoming affluent and getting well established in the society. Nevertheless, one must weigh the benefits and pitfalls of such a craving. Both the perspectives will be mentioned hereafter.

To begin with, the wealthy can afford a luxurious life for themselves and fulfill the wishes of their loved ones. Also, they can purchase anything without giving it a second thought. Similarly, one can plan their future and opt for early retirement because of enough wealth they have amassed/generated. Moreover, they can handle any emergency conditions like accidents and diseases by virtue of having an ample amount of funds. Adding to this, they enjoy the support of lawmakers and hold a powerful position among the other elite of society.

However, some commentators believe that deep pockets are associated with humongous stress levels that affect wellbeing. Beside this, there is always the fear of being trapped by the tax department which adds to unnecessary worries. Additionally, they are more prone to crimes like robberies, kidnapping and extortion because of their elite status. Furthermore, they become more arrogant and do not respect their peers and other society members; consequently, losing their respect. Above all, one quality that is common among all the affluent is greed generated with time that endures lifelong as the rich are pushed to work to sustain their prosperous status, making them obsessed with earning more to stay at the pinnacle.

Overall, prosperity has both the upsides and downsides; where one holds the power to buy anything and extend family members the facilities like international trips, higher education and better amenities, they are susceptible to unwarranted stress. Thus, it is necessary to be prudent to handle both the pros and cons of financial affluence.

Light pollution (excessive light during night time) is a form of pollution that distresses many people, especially in modern cities. What are the causes of light pollution, and what solutions can you suggest for governments and businesses to take?

Light pollution is the newly emerging menace that might lead to yet unknown but dire consequences. This phenomenon can be attributed to umpteen causes, and thus, it is imperative to explore possible mechanisms to mitigate it. I will discuss both in further paragraphs.

Excessive and inefficient lighting practices, such as using overly bright, or unnecessary illumination contribute to this predicament. This occurs primarily in urban areas where buildings, streets, and public spaces are lit up excessively. Improperly designed lighting fixtures with inadequate shielding allow light to scatter in all directions leading to skyglow, and brightening the night sky over populated areas. Similarly, the motorists and conspicuously shining billboards are also to be blamed for this as they light up the surroundings, and also send beams heading for the heavens.

However, there are certain remedies available to surmount this challenge. Encouraging the use of well-designed fixtures that direct light downwards and minimize glare can produce astonishing outcomes as only the required areas will be highlighted and the skylines can remain relatively darker. Similarly, incorporating timers, motion sensors, and dimming technologies for outdoor lighting can also go a long way; this will help ensure that lights are only active when necessary and can be adjusted according to ambient luminescence.

Additionally, it is mandatory to promote the use of warm-colored, low-intensity LED lights that are less disruptive to natural darkness and have minimal impact on wildlife. On top of that, persuading motorists and businesses to take initiative voluntarily like using low beams while driving, and limiting the time for using self-lighting advertisement hoardings will aid in mitigating this issue.

In conclusion, although eliminating this troublesome situation might be a far cry, alleviation is possible provided lighting equipment is well-designed and meticulously deployed, besides citizens and organizations acting prudently.

  • What are the causes of light pollution, and what solutions can you suggest for governments and businesses to take?

Causes

  • Flooding the area with more than required illumination

  • Faulty light designs that lets the light escapes skywards instead of focusing on the area required

  • Excessive use of high beams by motorists

  • Billboards of advertisements shining bright

  • Skywards beams being used in parties and events

SOLUTIONS

  • Reducing unnecessary use of lighting

  • Efficient designs of lighting systems

  • Restrictions about up to what time the advertisement billboards can be used

  • Prohibiting the use of skywards beams

  • Dissuading motorists from using high beams

The intent to transform darkness into broad daylight is creating a new type of menace – enhanced luminescence, a source of several problems. It is highly desirable to address this issue urgently. I will discuss the causes and possible solutions in this essay.

The primary cause of this, not so new,  phenomenon is the light escaping from the conspicuous street lighting systems ubiquitously installed on main roads, streets, alleys, and several other locations frequented by the public. These do not only illuminate the areas they are meant for but also the adjoining ones. On top of that, due to their defective design or focusing, a lot of light tends to escape towards the skies too.

In addition to the above, besides street lights, the big self-illuminated bright billboards used by the authorities and businesses to highlight their establishments, and products are also to blame for this pollution. These brightly shine throughout the night, lighting up the  skylines of cities; thus blurring the skies. Additionally, with security being a major concern today, every nook and corner of complexes – that may include parking, office premises, etc. – are given a more than required illumination, which leaves the areas flooded with light.

However, this, despite being a difficult to resolve  issue, remedies are available. It is necessary to redesign the street light equipment, which focuses only on the intended areas instead of dispersing in unwanted directions, especially towards the heavens. Furthermore, businesses also must fulfill their social obligations by limiting the use of huge illuminated advertising boards and hoardings.

To conclude, illuminating  public areas is the primary factor that is contributing to the light pollution, nonetheless, better designs, and imposing voluntary restrictions on  the hours of use of advertising and decoration could surely help.
