Some argue that teachers should focus on academics more than motivating students. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

A common perception that educators are responsible for delivering syllabus rather than persuading learners, evokes mixed responses: while some support this, others reject it. The following paragraphs shall profoundly delve into this matter and share a logical conclusion. 

To start with, undeniably, academic knowledge always provides a strong foundation, which is essential in shaping the future of the learners. Those with a commendable education track record are always preferred when seeking opportunities in higher education, like appearing for competitive exams, or enrolling in renowned universities and colleges. To illustrate, those being exposed to strict academic pursuit while in school, are able to crack competitive exams like GMAT, effortlessly. Not only this, they can develop invaluable academic skills, besides traits such as public speaking, problem-solving, and critical thinking, to name a few, helping them settle in their desired careers successfully. 

However, those skeptical about this approach assert that encouraging young learners is equally important. Motivated learners tend to be more attentive, curious, and creative. They always try to think out of the box, to learn new skills and subject matter. Moreover, it is a natural phenomenon when educators inspire young minds, they are instilling critical traits of perseverance in them, keeping them positive till the completion of the task and not surrendering when faced with small debacles and hurdles.  A study has shown that when people are persuaded to keep going, they become enthusiastic in chasing their goals, and they influence their classmates too, by creating a positive environment around them. 

To recap, a balanced approach is recommended: it  can do wonders in tailoring the future of children by laying a strong foundation of education, inspiring them to pursue their objectives enthusiastically, something pivotal to attain pinnacles in life. 

There is a profound debate raging among varied sections of society about whether teachers should prioritise education over motivation. Some subscribe to the notion that the focus should be on academic syllabus and not on acting as motivators, while others dissent. I will critically analyze this matter in the following paragraphs and share my opinion about it.
