Ielts Essay:In the past people believed that the human race was steadily making progress in all areas of life

Over the centuries, human society has made drastic progress in almost every walk of life that range from significant improvements in lifestyle to methods of social communications, but there is a lobby that strongly believes there is still have a long way to go, as far as the overall development of human society is concerned.

Humans have made noticeable progress in means of transportation and communications. Remarkable advances in these areas have actually paved way for phenomenal changes in overall lifestyle of human society. Innovation and furtherance in means of moving around and communicating has bought individuals and communities, from across the world, closer, thereby making it possible to travel and communicate with anyone, anywhere at any point of time across the globe. This has helped foster stronger ties among people

Besides transportation and communications, there have been remarkable innovations in the medical sciences. This is one factor which has helped  conquer many lethal diseases which have made it possible for people to lead longer and healthier lives, e.g. many maladies like tuberculosis, etc. that were thought to be life threatening, have been brought under control through various preventive measures and medications.

But, there are still many fields and walks of life where we still need expand innovation and development. These include creating room for a better understanding between different communities and social groups. This is one area that we really need to make progress in as it would guarantee and safer, a crime-less and a war-free society.

In conclusion, I would stress on the need to develop deeper understanding between citizens of the planet, as only this can help establishment of stable mechanism of development and innovation.

What are the benefits of living in big cities
Ielts Essay benefits of living in big cities

With the urbanization becoming trend, it is being observed that today a majority of population world over prefers to live in or somewhat near to big cities for living big metros has many advantages in form of multiple facilities that are laid at disposal of inhabitants of urbanized regions.

The biggest attraction of residing in an urban cluster is abundance of opportunities for employment and education. These elements are considered to be the basic features of wish list of common human being. Better and broader range of choice for education for children and an array of facilities has always been the top priorities for people and these facilities are hard to find in rural regions. After the completion of education people also want wider choice of employment opportunities for self and children. These factors guarantee a stable life and brighter future, so people like to reside in the urban areas. Ielts Essay -

Besides the education and employment, health is also a major concern for people and this is where a ig city scores better than the regional areas. Hospitals clinics and other support facilities are available for people from every walk of life. You can easily access subsidized services for poor and high quality health services for rich and that also within one region.

The issues that plague the rural areas are access to all those facilities which one can easily find at his or her disposal in city. The major ingredient of lack of facilities in regional territories is lack of population and interest of organizations providing these facilities.

In conclusion I would suggest that a public private partnership must be initiated to provide all those services and conveniences in the non urban areas which would persuade people into residing in rural villages and towns. Ielts Essay -

IELTS ESSAY -Crime is a problem all over the world

Times are definitely becoming tumultuous and a simultaneous rise in criminal activities is being observed across the globe. This has raised concerns across the sections in the society as the social activists and scientists suggest that it is high time when methods of prevention of criminal activities was found but there are some people who firmly believe that there is no way to stop crime. - Ielts Essay

The people who vouch for crime prevention methods state that finding ways of motivating people to dissuade themselves from involving in such activities that lead to taking law in their own hands. They feel such initiatives would help and would encourage perpetrators of unlawful activities to mend their ways and lead a reformed life.

Besides finding motivational tools these people suggest that using forceful methods such as stringent punishment provisions would go a long way in prevention of unlawful activities. They feel that fear of law often acts as a deterrent for perpetrators of criminal offences. For e.g. capital punishment for severe criminal instances can be imposed to create a fear among people and deter them from involving themselves in such modus operandi. - Ielts Essay

On the contrary there is lobby that feels that no motivational tool of legal provision can prevent criminal phenomena. They feel that human instincts are basically connected to animal instincts which gain favors or feelings in certain situations and lead the humans to commit offences. Moreover as per them, sources of criminal activities are diverse. While some crimes are sometimes committed without intentions and sometimes under compulsions, some people are quite used to leading a criminal life - Ielts Essay

In conclusion I would say that although it is almost impossible to curtail criminal activities but we must not abandon our efforts to prevent these activities. - Ielts Essay

IELTS ESSAY WHO SHOULD CHOOSE SUBJECTS

Over several years of last century, as the education system has evolved radically, central educational authorities are vested  with the task of defining academic curriculum. This system has umpteen merits, but some criticize this procedure, and feel that educators must be take onus of this task.

To start with, those strongly supporting this arrangement profess that the tutors are closer to the pupils and have a better access to their intelligence levels. This first-hand information about the level of comprehension can help them in deciding the areas that can be easily grabbed by the learners, as per their aspirations, and also aid in bolstering their skills.

Having said that, those cynical about this defy this notion overtly, and vouch for the national authority deciding the study programs, quote that every country faces a steep challenge of harmonizing academic disciplines and syllabus across the nation, within single grid, to help assess and evaluate the intelligence of learners on the basis of single criteria list. This can help engender a strategy to develop a comprehensive education system that is offers equal opportunities to all pupils, but educators lack an in-depth view about heterogenic geographical socioeconomic backgrounds and requirements of the populace

Additionally, teaching professionals lack access to broader perspectives and abundance of resources that can help devise and develop such study material that can assist greatly in enhancing the knowledge of future generations at par with updated trends and developments. In contrast, a national educational body can effortlessly attain this goal.

In overall analysis, I feel that it is better for a central agency to take care of establishment of curriculum as it helps in ensuring a reliable and comprehensive system that not only guarantees delivery of standardized education but also ensures a better evaluation system.

Ielts Essay - Globalization

Globalization has become a synonym with the politics of the planet earth and every nation across the world is grossly influenced by this phenomena. Almost all countries are reaping huge benefits out of this trend, but going global has its own perils are highlighted by its critics on parallel footing.

Globalized trend has generated enormous advantages for all societies and has helped them earn visibility and acceptance across the world. Due to this people are getting to know each other more closely and are readily accepting the diversity and difference of opinions. This has created a surprising harmony among people as they celebrate happiness and share sorrows on common platforms and with same fervor.

Besides the harmony among the global citizens, globalization is also bringing in advantages in form of the parallel economic opportunities for people across the globe as people are easily able to traverse through countries in search of jobs and get better compensations for their skills. Education has also received a big boost and the people residing in poorer countries are able to access the educational avenues in developed countries with an unprecedented freedom.

On the contrary, the critics to the theory of going global fear that this phenomena brings in bad news for weaker economies as more developed and advanced economies are easily able to suppress industrial potential of poorer countries and instead create niche for their products and services in the developing nations ultimately annihilating the business talent of financially weaker economies.

In my opinion, even though, globalization has some serious drawbacks but as this trend has opened many new horizons for the betterment and development of human society by creating venues for pooling talents and resources and harnessing them in achievement of common objectives.

Ielts Essay - Subjects to Study

With education gaining more prominence in the professional life of an average human being and specialization factor becoming more paramount, people have started thinking that it would be better for pupils to focus only on areas that they are interested in, while others feel that academic pursual is must in all subjects that academic institutions impart.

Pursuing only those disciplines towards which pupils have more inclination than other fields will enable them to grab and perfect and sharpen their skills in fields of interest and infact it would help them in their professional endeavors later in life as adults.

Moreover, learning a discipline that fails to create enthusiasm in certain students can often prove to be a sheer waste of time and counter productive as the students often have to deal with an extra burden of learning those skills which may not be required by them. It also happens to distract them and often lead to a situation where they loose interest in academic pursuals altogether.

On the contrary, some sections strongly defend the arrangement of education in its present format of being delivered in form of different and diverse subjects as they think that academic endeavor should not mean bounding the premise of learning to an area merely on basis of interest and enthusiasm among students. They feel that people need to acquire multi-dimensional skills to be able to take well informed decisions. This would also help them in developing rational approach towards life.

In conclusion, I vouch for multi subject curriculum and not limiting academic pursuit to only those domains where pupils feel that they have stronger understanding as adopting a selective approach in choosing subjects can severely hinder overall personality development and also kill the attitude to grab more knowledge. Private companies that support and carry out scientific research are spending more than governments these days. Do the advantages of this development outweigh its disadvantages? Explain and give your reasons. - Ielts Essay
Ielts Private or Govt R&D

Private participation is seeping into every walk of public life and infact today this factor prominently features in all new research initiative being established by governments world over even ones with objectives that include humane purpose. As an impact, people have started raising doubts about the sanctity of the mission as they feel that the private enterprise is more inclined towards profits and research is an area that needs an input of selfless service. This creates a clash of interests thus proving disadvantageous for society. But this phenomenon has some really noticeable benefits that must never be ignored.

One essential reason that can be cited for increasing private participation is requirement of one critical component i.e. huge amount of funds required to finance various large scale projects that explore into endeavors for benefit of society.

Besides having essential funds, private enterprise is driven by objectives of earning profits that incites the companies to innovate and employ extensive means to accomplish these goals. This also creates opportunities for employment of highly qualified professionals in their occupational premise. These factors compiled together help in ensuring long term planning for running research based initiatives that often require long gestation periods before final realization of research goals.

On contrary, research initiatives of private enterprise are often influenced by selfish motives of private individuals who can use research activities for their own selfish ends, thereby reducing effectivity and efficiency of research being pursued and many times results are prematurely promoted as final accomplishments, which hamper the very relevance and spirit of exploration.

But whatever may be the case, I personally feel that privately led research establishments can prove more feasible in long term as they have all elements of innovation and dynamism. - Ielts Essay

Ielts Essay - Transport Private or Public

With mobility topping the priorities of average household, more and more people are inclined to possessing a personal transport in form of a two or a four wheelers. This has generated a sizeable turnover for automobile companies which are out to encash the perceptions of benefits of people over the public transportation mediums.

The biggest advantage often cited by travelers who prefer using personal transport instead of public medium is unprecedented mobility. People have all the flexibility of time and convenience at their disposal and they are able to move around freely without having to rely on the time table prone schedule of buses and trains and also without facing the mood swings and awkward behavior of cab drivers. Their own personal transportation means makes them master of their own will and they can go anywhere as per their wishes.

Moreover, people preferring private medium of transportation also means reducing public expenditure of the governments. The government is relieved of a major social initiative of providing subsidized public amenities of transport to people and it can use the funds in other more critical and essential areas. The expansion of private modes by the people also enhances opportunities for raising money by means of levies and taxes on private transport.

On the contrary, many enumerate some serious drawbacks of  increasing preference for use of personal means of transportation has led to creation of traffic jams and snarls. Society today face a more severe problem of rising pollution due to the extensive use of fossil fuel by these individual mobility modes.

In my opinion an increasing preference for personalized use of transport is leading to creation of multiple problems. These demerits surely dwarf the advantages that a car or motorcycle could generate for the masses.

Ielts Essay on Development and traditions

With a race ensuing for progress, every nation on the planet earth has been pursuing developmental objectives. This even though has created apprehensions about this pursuit casting unholy shadow on the culture and ways of life. There are pros and cons associated with progress, but progress has more vouching for it.

The dynamics of enhancement in the economic productivity generates fresh venues for a better and a healthy society that is more aware of its social structure, while those choosing to remain confined to age-old traditions and values often succumb because of rigid values. It has been historically established that countries having higher standard of living stand better chances of preserving their beliefs, and instead propagating, them across the world, as has been seen and experienced in case of USA.

Moreover, it is only the progress that can create resources for preservation of rituals and traditional thought process; all venues and corners of a developing economy witness a parallel and simultaneous upheaval. To corroborate, a country like Japan which is known for its age old traditions has developed and sustained its customs successfully, and today, more and more Japanese are inclined to their cultural thinking.

Having said that, despite fetching numerous rewards, the skepticals are often seen expressing fears – even though they are unfounded - their cultures being invaded and turned into irrelevant by the progress. They often cite instances of people, especially the young, getting detached from the indigenous customs and succumbing to lifestyles that are deemed unsuitable in specific social perspectives.

In conclusion, by engendering diverse mechanism to preserve traditional practices, the striving for prosperity certainly helps drive in more merits than pitfalls; thus, I would rather emphasize that development has enormous benefits that cannot be side-lined in the name of preserving traditions.

Some say that if anyone would be given a choice between ‘not working’ and ‘working most of the time’, they would choose not to work. Do you agree or disagree? - Ielts Essay answers

Some say that if anyone would be given a choice between ‘not working’ and ‘working most of the time’, they would choose not to work. Do you agree or disagree?

With many developed countries offering social security to their citizens, many people have started thinking that employment has become a non essential factor as far as means earning a living is concerned. This has completely eroded their inclination to work and they want to spend their lives that are free of any kind of work routines.

Inhabitants of many prosperous countries opt for living a lifestyle that is free of any monotonous routine and compulsions of employment and work. As per them involving themselves in a life that is full of complexities and anxiety is bad idea and they are ready to support their routines with whatever minimal financial support they are provided by their governments.

Besides limiting their needs for sake of free life, many individuals do not have an inclination for taking up a job as they feel that they are not capable enough to handle the burdens and demands of a job. They feel that if they do not take up that position someone with a direr need for a job will be able top get that position.

On the other hand, for some people work is vital component of their daily routines. Monetary advantages are the one of factors that influences their craving for work but not necessarily primary aspects. These individuals pursue professional satisfaction and wish to live with a sense of achievement and accomplishment for example people involved in technical and research work always choose spending more and more time at their work so that they can achieve desired results with their intense efforts.

In my opinion, although the choice of remaining workless is an individual prerogative, this tendency is more noticeable, among a minority, in prosperous countries, while in developing nations work and jobs are critical for survival of people. Thus, this opinon cannot be upheld at all.

There is no longer enough natural resources to sustain current levels of economic growth. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?- Ielts Essay

As development proliferates to different corners of globe, extraction of natural resources has accelerated rapidly. This has generated a great concern among global economic scientists about depleting reserves and their impact on maintaining the tempo of growth in coming years. Although some feel quite contrary to this and feel that humanity will be able to fare better even in absence of natural reserves.

All economic components and venues need consistent supply of material at fairly stable prices to fuel growth. Lack of availability of natural resources will trigger a crisis and it will become harder to procure much required minerals at sustainable price level. This will undermine progress and growth prospects in coming times.

Besides price levels offsetting development, minerals like fossil fuels are elementary requirements of any country on the roll and everything will come to a stand still, once supply falls short of demand. This unavailability of critical and vital components will hamper growth prospects as currently we are completely dependent on materials like Oil and iron ore etc.

Quite contrary to this popular belief, a section is quite positive and feels that new technology which is being developed over the years will be able to compensate for lack of availability of natural minerals. As per them the most prominent among the latest developments is recycling of old used and redundant commodities. This has ushered us into new age and can considerably reduce our reliance on nature’s gifts. If we learn to implement the recycling concept properly, this will detach growth factor from the natural resource element.

In my opinion although natural materials are critical to maintain the growth pattern but with the innovation of new technology we will be able to perform better and maintain our pace of growth.

The culture of different countries are becoming similar so there is no point for people to go traveling abroad for they could have same experience at home. To what extent do you agree or disagree
Travel and Culture

With globalization and information revolution stepping in, world has become smaller place to live. It can be nearly related to global village. This phenomena has led to popular belief among people that traveling to other places across the planet has become irrelevant. Although, there are many who feel that traveling cannot be substituted by copying and simulation of original traditional practices.

As the planet becomes a homogenous place to live with the tastes and preferences of people getting influenced by the sweeping information technology, one can experience unprecedented similarities in way of life and customs of people across the world for e.g. food and clothing has lost the diversity values with the spread of the awareness among global citizens and you can find almost similar merchandise selling across the different nations.

Besides the clothing and the food, people across the world celebrate festivals with a strange homogeneity and fervor which has made the originating place and heterogeneity of festivals and customs irrelevant and now people tend to gain a similar experience and excitement without leaving their own shores.

Although there are people who strongly recommend traveling as only way to experience diversity of different corners of globe, they feel that nothing can be compared to the original and authentic stuff. As per their opinion replicas and artificially created environment cannot be compared to the original feel of the customs and way of life of people originally practicing those customs and traditions like to experience for e.g. the passion and intensity of celebrating Halloween can only be best experienced in USA and not anywhere else in the world.

In my own opinion, I strongly suggest traveling across to other countries as it is the only way to experience diversity in its original manifestation.

People who have original ideas are of much greater value to the society than those who simple copy the ideas of others very well. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Ielts Essay - Inventions or Copying

Since eons, society has been revolutionized by the ground-breaking discoveries made by innovators. This has also created a class that has simply replicated and have integrated them into their own concepts, making one ponder whether those innovating have a major impact, or those duplicating the concepts.

Innovators have a major bearing on society as they have been pivotal to the development of human race; their discoveries have changed the whole life and procedure of mankind. They bought ushered new horizons that transformed the thought process stupendously and considerably: after the invention of aircraft by Wright Brothers the traveling concept of human race has radically changed, helping convert globe into truly a smaller place to be.

Besides radically changing the lives, these resourceful individuals with inventive ideas have engendered benchmarks and precedents for others to mimic, while the successors have merely integrated  upgradations with the original concepts and without creating something radical, making it imperative  discoverers of concepts and methods to be held in high esteem: Graham Bell is still remembered by everyone for inventing the phone, but no one even recognizes John F. Mitchell, who designed the first cellular phone.

However, some feel that those duplicating concepts and inventions are equally, if not more, valuable as those making discoveries, for they have always improved and helped evolve modern  systems and equipment that are well adapted to the present context. To corroborate, the contemporary generation of color Televisions and LEDs are an outcome of emulation on the initial audio visual forays of pioneering researchers and technologists.

In hindsight, I personally feel that both those conceiving revolutionary concepts and emulators have their place in development of society and are equally important for mankind. Where one category showed the way, the other made it commercially possible and affordable.

As there is increasing unemployment in the world, while at the same time those who have jobs are working harder and harder, it would be better to have a four-day working week for everyone, and so to create more jobs. In what extent do you agree or disagree? Ielts Essay

As there is increasing unemployment in the world, while at the same time those who have jobs are working harder and harder

Concerned at rising joblessness, economists and social scientists are becoming increasingly concerned and have been pitching for revolutionary ways mitigate this situation. They suggest that it would viable enough if personnel were obligated to work only for four days in a week, but some challenge this proposal.

To start with, those supporting the idea of reducing number of working days per week found their opinion on the assumption that by stipulating four-day week working per person, it would become mandatory for companies to hire more and more individuals, so as to help compensate for those on their rest days. On top of that, another benefit that can be supposedly be afforded by this policy is that those struggling to strike a work life balance due to gruelling professional schedule would be able to gain some time to rejuvenate and relax, augmenting their productivity as a consequence.

On the contrary, some sections strongly reject this idea. As per them this will prove to be a recipe for disaster; it will impose an additional financial burden on employers, and afford an adverse impact on financial health of existing employment venues. The employment giving agencies will have to allocate extra resources as to pay for remuneration to new employees, bear additional tax burden and additional infrastructure costs to accommodate additional workers. Consequently, this is bound to shrink the capacity of businesses to sustain profitability in face of stiff market competition which could also result in closing down of businesses. This would further amplify miseries and engender more joblessness around.

Overall, disputes and controversies aside, I strongly reject this idea as enforcing a rule that stipulates personnel operating for four days in a week is quite impractical: as it may generate more serious complications and create more unemployed people.

Ielts Essay - All educational facilities should be funded by the government. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Writing part 2 Ielts Essay

Ielts Essay Getting appropriate education is a top priority for the people world over. This need is more urgent in the developing nations where the there is strong disparity being experienced in income levels across various social groups. This makes it imperative for some people to impress upon the idea of education initiative as being a deserving subject for receiving governmental financial support.

People holding opinion that government must make provisions for infusing money in such kinds of social programs that promote educational progress, contend that education is a basic human right which must not be wrested away from nationals and citizens for lack of money. Private initiatives have largely proven to be ineffective in this domain as the primary objective of a private institution is profit, which hinders the equal spread of education across society. Government is the only monitoring body in a country that can guarantee and equal distribution of resources to sections of society.

Besides government being a guarantor of equal rights to every section, it is the only body that can ensure a continuous and uninterrupted support for such programs for a long time. It can also create provisions and raise funds to offset impact of rising educational costs, which would be quite difficult for private institutions.

On the contrary, some critics strongly reject this viewpoint, as per them government aid sans innovation. They feel that governmental financial aid would actually hamper further progress and development in various fields and disciplines i.e. innovation cannot be sacrificed for sake of equality.

To conclude, I would say that government and private participation in education is important and onus of this social perspective must never be left on one agency as innovation and equality are 2 basic elements that ensure progress of society.
