It is sometimes suggested that teleworking should be integrated in the employment policy, but some dissent with this and favor perpetuation of traditional setup. I believe that a hybrid model, combining both systems, should be adopted.

Telecommuting will afford a much needed respite from grueling everyday commutes to the beleaguered personnel. They will be able to use the time saved to attend to their family obligations, helping them strike the balance between work and life. Similarly, they will have more time to devote to their work, and fulfil their duties. For instance, several organizations like Google, have embraced this liberal approach, which has enabled their workforce to derive job satisfaction.

Moreover, businesses will also be able to draw benefits from this arrangement, in the form of lower cost of operations. They will not need to arrange transportation, sprawling office places, furniture and equipment, and other amenities, which will save their invaluable money. To exemplify, companies like Accenture have partially shifted to this concept, and have reported a humongous decline in their operational expenses. 

Nevertheless, the rewards fetched by conventional settings, attending office physically, are incomparable. Since this approach mandates presence of colleagues and seniors at job, it becomes possible to work in cohorts; seek suggestions and counsel; and resolve impediments at work without delay. Additionally, it is easier to sustain discipline, and ensure adherence to performance norms beside maintaining secrecy. To corroborate, Boeing, an aerospace giant, stipulates attendance of all employees in the office premises. As per its CEO, this has allowed them to streamline their operations and deliver projects on time.

Thus, deploying a combination of both the arrangements can prove to be quite conducive for contemporary businesses, with one guaranteeing job satisfaction and economical operations, the other allowing quick problem-solving, and ensuring secrecy.
