  Introduction 1

Gone are the days when one had to face the torment of carrying and perusing books to grasp knowledge since the advent of virtual mediums has made life easier, but do the rewards afforded by this innovation really outstrip the challenges it poses, is a matter that needs to be profoundly analyzed.

Introduction 2

Undeniably, the advent of virtual mediums serving information has relieved one from the torment of carrying and perusing books to grasp  knowledge, but does this innovation afford more rewards than challenges: a matter that is worthy of profound analysis.

At the outset, these modern repositories of content have liberated humans from the burden of bearing the heavy load of books, manuals, and so on, to access information about any topic: starting from highly technical journals to more mundane topics such as cooking guides, for everything can be derived with the help of computers, or even hand-held devices like mobiles. To corroborate, several professionals, including engineers, doctors, and those carrying out research in different fields, and pupils studying in schools or universities, have switched to e-manuals and ebooks, and animation and videos, to study, evaluate, and even expand their know-how.

Similarly, this introduction has proven its potential to act as a safeguard for the environment;neither one needs to strip the planet of the green buffer to produce paper nor there is requirement to use printing ink manufactured with the help of harmful chemicals to print. Additionally, governments and society can save invaluable monetary resources, otherwise invested into recycling printed material.

Nevertheless, the only pitfall of this state-of-the-art method of storing and disseminating informative and educational data, is its vulnerability to hacking and theft. However, this threat can be overcome by embracing appropriate protective measures, and framework, as several governments and other establishments have already started planning and implementing stringent data protection policies.

In hindsight, online platforms acting as reservoirs, and source of knowledge, have come as a boon by offering unprecedented convenience of use, and halting environmental degradation caused by deforestation, and surpass the drawbacks emerging in the form of unsolicited intrusions.
