  • ** Modern paradigm(model) shift in social, professional and personal realms(domains) classifies education in a prescribed format and finishing it is critical: older systems of society and work have (diminish/disappear/become extinct/die out) ceased to exist. That is why 18 years of schooling is   deemed essential, so that modern individuals can adapt to the current system professionally and socially. 
  • Completing the schooling at 18 means that a child who started education at a tender age has spent formative years constructively, instead of engaging in child labor, or going astray. 
  • Successfully attending all levels of the school helps young minds foster deep knowledge and wisdom which helps them turn into well-informed and rational adults

  • Many cite the traditional schooling systems: in middle east, far east Asia and Africa, many societies are although imparting  modern knowledge, they also feel that children should be imbibed with knowhow about their culture, social obligations and methods of working 
  • There is a another thought that suggests that beyond a certain age- generally around 15 or 16, continuing schooling is wastage of time, which could be allocated to learning about  the trades a youngster has an inclination for. 

Education is of paramount importance, and schooling lays the foundation for its effective delivery. Thus, a large part of society feels that children should continue visiting formal tuition up to 18 years. However, this notion is sometimes challenged by some. 

To start with, the rationale behind not letting juveniles drop out of the schools before  they turn eighteen is primarily based on the fact that there has been a substantial paradigm shift in the way society is constituted today, the demise of older social order and the advent of modern settings have superseded traditional thought of class difference: now everyone must start from the basics, regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds, and grab knowledge that they will require to survive in the concurrent times, socially and professionally. Completing schooling in this era is the only way to ensure higher education, which will render an individual their professional space in society. 

 Nevertheless, the other school of thought disputes the former notion. They profess that it is often worthless for youngsters, especially in the age group 15 and 16, to continue with school education when they have determined their professional inclinations. They, instead of wasting their time in coping with an overloaded academic curriculum - that is loaded with unnecessary subjects, can  use it productively to grasp the knowhow in the field they may like to work in as adults. Therefore, schooling until 18 is not as critical as some might propound.   

 Overall, controversies apart, I see little rationale behind youngsters not continuing their schooling until they finish it successfully. The contemporary social arrangement mandates that each young individual must study until higher secondary. Therefore, this statement is concurred with in absolute terms.
