Even more people are interested in wearing fashionable clothes nowadays. Do you think it is a positive or a negative trend?

In the contemporary era, people are more inclined towards buying the clothing which are in vogue. There is a lobby that justifies the rationale behind this trend. However, there are a few voices of dissent suggesting that this evolution can cause more harm than good.

Many have hailed the penchant towards wearing stylish outfits since this helps in boosting the confidence by shelving the outdated/obsolete styles, and promoting homogeneity among masses. Furthermore, this trend leads to the expansion of apparel companies and rendering a wide array of opportunities in this sector, consequently, bolstering the economies.

However, there are many detractors to this practice since it fosters the social fault lines between the people who can afford these trendy clothes and who cannot bear the prices of such outfits. Moreover, since fashion trends evolve incessantly which pushes the buyers to embrace the use and throw culture, thereby leading to the accumulation of waste, and besides this, to follow the clothes which are in trend often compels consumers to spend beyond their financial feasibility.

In addition to above, this practice has a detrimental impact on the environment as apparel industries churn out such goods in colossal amounts by milking the resources to satiate the growing demands of buyers for the latest fashion, which entails expansion of carbon footprint intensively by virtue of which the society is also encountering several health hazards.

To reiterate, I strongly feel that despite some positive aspects, the spike in the human propensity towards buying the garments which are in trend is accompanied by a plethora of negative aspects which prevail over the favourable outcomes since it is widening the social divide, affecting the financial health of many as well as hampering the ecological balance.
