Some parents say that children should play individually more than in a group. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this and include your own opinion.
Playing is very crucial for the development of the young ones. There is a lobby that believes they can learn more while playing independently rather than playing in teams. This essay shall delve into the positive and negative aspects of this practice.
When children play in isolation without their friends or anyone else, they get deprived of numerous skills and values. They do not get an opportunity to learn social, as well as moral values, such as sharing, caring, communicating, developing social networks, cooperation, and so on. As a result of which, some of them become introverts when they turn into teenagers, and due to the lack of confidence, they find it difficult to muster courage while approaching others.
Additionally, if they play individually they never get satisfied with what they have, resulting in the spiralling of their demands to possess a diverse range of toys and games; however, they can satiate their desires by borrowing from their teammates while playing. Furthermore, parents are less worried about their wards since they get a company of others as nowadays, they are highly engaged in their work-life owing to which they do not get adequate time to look after their children round the clock.
The children start comparing with others present in the group, which pose a difficulty for some parents who cannot afford a similar lifestyle for them, thereby, escalating their financial obligations and pushing them into crisis. Moreover, they do not always look for the support of someone to amuse themselves.
To reiterate, for the holistic development of the children, playing in teams will be of great afford for them. The drawbacks of playing independently eclipse its merits; hence, I fail to concur with the statement.
