With academics gaining importance and dominance in the school syllabus, many educational institutions have opted for substituting extracurricular subjects like Art, Sports and Music with subjects like IT etc. This has resulted in controversy of sorts, as many experts feel that this will have negative impact on the pupils but some feel this bring in numerous advantages.- - IELTS ESSAY

People who think that adding subjects would deal a damaging blow to health of students as they are already pressurized by an increasing ratio of studies in daily routine of young ones and adding more burden of studies on young minds would lead to undue stress, which would ultimately result in deterioration of mental and physical health of the pupils.-

Besides having negative impact on the health, adding more academic content would rob children of their already shrinking free time because it would result in an unprecedented increase in intensity of class work and home assignments thus leaving little time for young ones to participate in other extracurricular activities. Experts feel sports and other activities play important role in personality development of child and lesser participation would mean creating hurdles in children picking up hints about better personal and social life.

On the contrary, advocates who lobby for substituting extracurricular activities with academic subjects feel that these changes would prove helpful in preparing children for competitive challenges they would have to face later in their careers. As per them, rising competition has made skill development a critical aspect and it will be better if students start preparing at a much younger stage in order to gain proficiency in their fields.
In conclusion, I feel that adding more academic subjects is meting out injustice to children and this would have a longer lasting impact on kids. IELTS ESSAY
