Ielts Essay - Acadmics putting pressure
IWith academics gaining dominance in the school syllabus, many educational institutions have opted for superseding extracurricular endeavors with subjects like IT, etc. This has resulted in profound controversy, as many feel that this will adversely impact pupils even though some feel this bring in numerous advantages.

The advocates lobbying for substituting extracurricular activities with academic subjects feel that these changes would prove helpful in preparing children for competitive challenges they would have to face later in their careers. As per them, deepening competition has made skill development a critical aspect, and it will be better if learners start preparing at a much younger stage in order to garner adrtouness in their fields.

Having said that, those professing this policy would deal a damaging blow to health of students as they are already pressurized by an increasing ratio of studies in daily routine of young ones and adding more burden of studies on young minds would lead to undue stress, which would ultimately result in deterioration of mental and physical health of the pupils.

Besides negatively impacting health, adding more academic content would rob children of their already shrinking free time; it would result in an unprecedented increment in the intensity of class work and home assignments; thus, leaving little time for them to participate in other cocurricular undertaking. Experts feel sports and other activities play important role in personality development of child and lesser participation would mean creating hurdles in children picking up hints about better personal and social life.

In conclusion, disputes aside, I feel that adding more academic subjects by shelving extracurrcular ones, is meting out injustice to young minds and this would have a longer lasting impact on them. Extra-curricular are equally essential for fostering overall persona of youngsters.
