Physical education and sport should be compulsory for all students in all schools. Do you agree or disagree?
Most countries across the globe are witnessing a decline in physical fitness in school aged children, which evokes a proposal that participation in sports and physical education should be mandatory at school. I completely concur/accede/I am in favor of /inclined with this practice, and in this essay will put forth my views.
To embark on the discussion, the support for this suggestion finds its support in the benefits fetched by physical endeavors: sports acts as a medium for the learners to destress themselves by earning a healthy escape, from mundane, and a distraction from an overwhelming academic regime, enabling them to metabolize their stress harmlessly. Moreover, skills like team spirit, tackling failure and success, and so on, which act as the cornerstone for a successful adult life, are inculcated right from childhood. Similarly, this can bolster necessary mental and motor skills: hand-eye coordination, fine motor movements and concentration, to name a few.
On top of that, in current times, surfeit indulgence in computers and technology is depriving youngsters of opportunities to engage in physical activities, thereby exposing them to obesity and related diseases, all this can be prevented when engaged in exertional sports activities. Additionally, it is often noticed some students have more inclination towards physical activity, they tend to perform well in them, and can take it up as a profession in future. Besides this, formal tuitions are responsible for overall development as well as physical and mental well being, so this undertaking should be integrated in school.
To sum up, schooling should, besides delivering academic knowhow, should also mandatorily integrate physical education in the formal curriculum. Active participation will make children fit and help them learn important life skills, ensuring a safe and healthy future generation.
