Modern lifestyles mean that many parents have little time for their children. Many children do not get as much attention from their parents as children did in the past. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Many today are trying to juggle between
their professional, social and personal realms, due to which they are often
found foregoing their important task: spending some time with their wards. This
notion gains support from many quarters, while is quashed by some, saying that
this is only a rare case.
Parents neglecting their young
ones is a stark reality of the current times, as many propose. This assumption
is based on the assessment of the way many are increasingly engaging in a
continuous striving to attain professional ambitions of rising in the
organizational hierarchy – to gain clout over their professional rivals – besides,
attempting to earn appropriate rewards for their efforts to render all
necessary comforts to their families. This aspect keeps them away and children
are the biggest casualty.
Similarly, modern ways of successful living,
as per some commentators rather heavily rely on social visibility – in order to
facilitate expansion social and professional network and influence . One must
allocate a major part of their leisure time to this activity which of course
comes at the cost of the time one generally devotes to their offspring.
Nevertheless, many voice their dissent on
the former opinion. They feel that despite people not allocating time every day
to their children, they are always there by the side of their wards whenever there
is a need arises. This can be exemplified by either of the parent taking days
off to help young ones prepare for their exams, or visit their schools.
In hindsight, I do not concur that parents
are giving their most important responsibility a miss since they are always
present whenever their wards need them the most. This compensates for the time
lost on the daily basis.
