Ielts Essay - Overspending on Celebrations |
Whether people have started spending lavishly on celebrating
family and social occasions or not has been doing rounds in various social
circles. Although, some sections firmly believe that people have resorted to
spending huge amounts on celebrations, there are some sections which feel that
this kind of phenomena does not exist.
Life has become so much complicated and busy that people are
not left with spare time for family, relations and friends. The Need to escape
scorching routine and humdrum makes them seek opportunities, which can be
enjoyed to fullest and because they have lesser time otherwise, for family and
friends, any occasion personal or family irrespective of its relevance, is seldom
ignored. The simple aspiration of people in these cases is to live out those
moments of togetherness and convert these events into everlasting memories.
This inclination to spend moments in most memorable manner incites them to
divert huge finances to celebrate parties.
Besides enjoyable moments becoming rare, people have more
financial resources at their disposal to participate with their family.
Abundance of money and availability of newer mediums to celebrate encourages
people to explore occasions to celebrate. Besides the abundance of financial
resources, partying and family dos have become a significant medium of
exhibiting one’s social status. These factors collectively induce people to
spend extravagantly.
On other hand, there are some sections that strongly feel
that it is not the inclination to spend more but the inflationary tendencies
which have forced people to spend more even on general events like birthdays
and graduation parties.
In conclusion, I feel that there are some who spend more to
display their prosperity while for some shelling out more financial resources
has become a necessity to cope up with the rising prices.
