Some people think it is better to educate boys and girls in separate schools and others feel they benefit more from attending mixed schools. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Education plays a very important role in life, schooling thereof being of more critical importance. Some believe letting both genders attend separate schools fetch more benefits while others contradict the view. Both have apt justifications for their opinions.

The lobby advocating mixed schooling says that, in tune with the contemporary era where gender equality is much talked about, attending same schools is of great advantage as imparting same set of instructions and teaching and making them face same challenges not only prepares both genders for professional life where both walk at the same pace but also enables a better understanding as they would not consider the other inferior or superior.

Moreover, letting both sexes enjoy learning in the same facility is beneficial to the economy on the whole as setting up an entirely new establishment involves huge costs in terms of salaries, maintenance etc, which when saved can be utilized for other needs of society. For instance, money saved on setting up new entities can be wisely used to provide other social causes like hospitals, better roads etc.

Nevertheless, those vouching for separate schools opine that educating both in gender specific formal tuition enables better learning as the students can focus more on studies as there are less possibilities of distractions due to absence to other sex. Also, some claim that there have been instances where girls find it problematic to put queries in the class due to the presence of boys as the latter are rowdy by nature and cause problems.

In hindsight, the benefits of separate schooling, although should be given due consideration, are outweighed by the advantages the mixed schooling can render. Thus, in my opinion, the students undoubtedly gain more when they are made to receive education under the same roof.
