Nowadays, young people prefer going to shopping centers rather than spending their time in organized activities such as sport or music. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
In concurrent times, some believe the younger generation prefers to spend their free time going to shopping centers instead of participating in activities like sport, music, and so forth, while some consider favorable evolution, others are skeptical about it.
To commence with, spending their time in shopping centers renders them freedom from their surroundings that entail instruction, in every walk of life: they can spend time without any fear in a relaxed environment, wherein they find peace, resulting in a positive attitude toward decision making in day to day activity. To corroborate, a study in Korea suggests that youngsters spending at least two hours in their favourable places have shown more productivity in their daily tasks like studies, part-time jobs, and so on, as compared to the ones who just take part in the regular activities like sport or other side activities.
Having said that, this shift is causing youngsters to miss the chance to exert themselves physically, learn about essential skills, and so forth. Such engagement is depriving the young generation of a chance to develop critical traits: team building skills; they spend most of their time aimlessly wandering in shopping districts without cultivating any practical or useful acumen, thereby preventing them from gaining useful knowledge that could help them in every sphere of life. Several human expert behaviorists also fear that this could lead to a generation lacking creativity, making it incapable of discovering plausible and innovative solutions to problems.
In hindsight, dispute aside, one can overlook the concerns being expressed since these endeavors can yield umpteen benefits, by giving them liberty to enjoy their time as per their convenience, allowing them to escape the mundane.
