Media is a source for humongous information that also provides access to personal lives. Some commentators perceive this as infringement, and call for stern measures to regulate such forays, while others think differently.

There is overwhelming support for free press, even if they sometimes encroach private spaces of celebrated individuals who have gained mileage due to colossal fan-following. It is thus, the privilege of those, idolizing such personalities, to know how the latter behave behind their veil of public persona. It has been often experienced that the philanthropic facade is used by some as a pretext to gain popularity, but behind the scenes they rarely have anything to do anything with altruism.

Such endeavors, informing about private persona of known figures like sport professionals, often impact the populace favorably, inspiring them to embrace the precedents of hard work invested by some and strive to attain pinnacle. A recent story that inspired many, for example, how a young girl, hailing from a destitute family, despite all hindrances of the gender-based stereotypes, continued to focus on her studies and became the first women to graduate from an Indian village, persuaded umpteen families to follow the suit.

However, such invasion is often derided, evooking a call for stringent control on what can be made public: it has detrimental implications on those whose personal lives become public overnight, creating unwarranted pressure and irrefutable reputational damage. Some also get negatively inspired by certain material being published establishing wrong precedents for the youth if their idols are engaged in socially unacceptable behavior.

Overall, news has a massive impact on public pysche,  and thus, it is pertinent for certain controls to be applied on the information being heralded, as personal lives of others can become a benchmark: both positively and negatively.
