In a number of countries, some people think it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Of late, many have been suggesting establishing fast train networks to render ease to those travelling between different cities. However, a section of urban town planners and transport authority suggest that it is more important to revamp the existing mass transit system.

With the ever-growing population, it has become indispensable to ponder over an alternative in railways to ease the struggle of the people. There is a lobby that believes the establishment of new railway lines to connect different areas would be of great affordance for the urbanites. This essay will justify the rationale behind their perspective and discuss that of others.

In the era of fast-paced life, rapid mode of transport to improve the connectivity between the cities is the need of the hour across the globe. People living in cities and suburbs end up wasting plenty of time in commuting through conventional train systems. With their hectic schedules, as well as the time spent in travelling, they do not get much time to spend with their loved ones. Moreover, this affects their productivity and efficacy as well due to arriving late in the office as travelling for hours makes them exhausted.

However, the other lobby suggests to enhance and make some advancements in the existing public transportation services. They believe that by improving the frequency of public vehicles to accommodate the residents could resolve the problems faced by them.

To reiterate, after assessing both the views, I feel that by ameliorating the public transportation services, public funds can be saved which can be further utilised in other endeavours for the welfare of the inhabitants along with the alleviation of the existing troubles of the people.
