Some people believe that physical fitness of strong individuals and teams is the reason for most sports achievements. Others, however, think that mental attitude is more important. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Physical fitness  and mental attitude is important for everyone, but there is a profound controversy about what can fetch success in sports as some believe that it is physical robustness, while  others think it is the strong perseverance that makes a sports practitioner triumphant. I would like to discuss both the views in the below paragraphs.

To start with, a physically fit person can invest himself completely in the sport to achieve victory. Their performance looks extraordinary, when they possess stamina to endure the stress of a game. Therefore, they have to focus on their physical abilities. For example, in a cricket match a team almost near to victory faced a defeat due to their outstanding players being either tired or injured.

On the other hand, a strong resolve is equally important to physical fitness, as if a sports person is not able to concentrate on the game, they cannot strategies and time their actions well, adn as a result they - if they playing an individual sport, or  the whole team - if it a team sport -  suffers. Positive attitude is thus  needed in the game to achieve the goal. It has been often experienced that while performing in demanding conditions - such as facing nail biting finish, trying to live up to expectations of the fans, or playing against a strong rival - many buckle under pressure and tend to fail at crucial junctures, and bow out cheaply. This  has often been experienced across various sporting disciplines where the best players could not perform due to this stress.

In the end, I would like to conclude that it is mandatory to be fit both mentally and physically.both are equally important to the team to achieve a goal .A positive attitude towards the game and a body fit player can only make a good difference in the game.

The performance of staff can have a significant impact on the success of a company. What can companies do to increase staff productivity?

The performance of staff can have a significant impact on the success of a company. What can companies do to increase staff productivity?

Employees are an asset to the company since their efforts guarantee productivity and profit; therefore, it is essential to ensure that they remain motivated to churn out continuous improvements. There are several methods that can help attain such goals.

To begin with, the workplace and the working conditions should be appropriate. Businesses should provide a safe and conducive work environment with adequate facilities - that can let workers be mentally and physically content, clean washrooms, proper lighting and cafeterias as comfortable surroundings can prevent workers from getting distracted. This, as a consequence, can bolster their focus on work and let them deliver excellent outcomes.

Moreover, organizations should render assurance about job security: this will offer a sense of security to the personnel about their future and they  will be able to devote their energy towards enhancing their performance. Also, other non-monetary inducements such as  health and medical support for the employees and their families can also be considered as an appropriate way of making sure that they remain committed to their work goals since such things will augment their feeling of belongingness to the organization.

Apart from that, the most commonly used method that has been termed as a panacea for boosting the morale of the workforce and persuading them to work harder is the financial stimulus. Undoubtedly, everyone works for the sake of money, and if they can obtain more than they usually earn - in the form of performance-based incentives,  bonuses and increments, they feel motivated and  encouraged to invest all their energy in helping their employers achieve unprecedented heights.

Overall, it is the sweat and blood of employees which helps companies to reach heights. Therefore, the staff productivity should be increased by keeping the workers motivated by appreciating their work and productivity.

In many cities today, most people live in large apartment blocks. Does this kind of accommodation have more advantages or disadvantages?

In many cities today, most people live in large apartment blocks

Advantages of living in large apartment blocks

  • A closely knit community tha afford opportunities for people to celebrate festivals and events together
  • Convenient life in these gated areas: all facilities are available are within close vicinity
  • No hassles for parking
  • Round the clock power back up and water
  • Unmatched security for dwellers
  • Cost-effective living since cost of maintenance is shared by all
  • Peaceful atmosphere

Disadvantages of living in large apartment blocks

  • Lack of privacy
  • No alterations possible - exterior or interior - without permission
  • No access to rooftop terrace

In contemporary times, living in large gated societies has become a fad among many. This kind of dwelling is although abound with several comforts, there are certain shortcomings  unworthy of being ignored.

The most prominent benefit afforded by these dwelling units that are generally in gated societies is unprecedented stress free lifestyle: those residing in these locales are exposed to availability of every imaginable facility closeby, mostly within the walls of gated regions such as shopping arcades, community centers, clubs and gyms, to name a few, making these easily accessible. One cannot also deny that the environment built is also quite comfortable and healthy, a great care is taken to create  green surroundings by planting numerous trees and building parks for residents, so that they can spend some time in the midst of greenery: playing; taking  a stroll; or socializing with neighbors, offering unmatched pleasures of life.

Moreover, security is another factor that makes these locations most sought after since the entry gates of such blocks are manned by security personnel who keep a close vigil on the area, monitoring the visitors and also the vendors who frequent societies for supplying material, offering a reliable protection to all; especially women, children and the elderly.

However, a major pitfall that sometimes  mars those residing in such neighborhoods is absence of privacy. It is always essential to keep in mind the comfort and likes and dislikes of neighbors, and follow the common norms such as not organizing noisy parties in their homes; and refrain from altering layouts of their houses without obtaining due permission from society management.

Overall, despite choosing to live in apartments in housing societies having certain pitfalls, the advantages these offer are unparalleled, and in fact, outshine the former.

Parents and family background have more influence than teachers of a young person’s learning and academic achievement. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Parents and family background have more influence than teachers of a young person’s learning and academic achievement. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In contemporary times, the learning, and academic performance of the young generation is much more influenced by their parents and family background than teachers. Formal institutions are the source of guidance, but cannot assure the same is being understood by the learners. This notion is concured with completely extent and will be discussed in this essay.

Youngsters spend more time at educational institutions and have numerous things to learn in a limited period of time. Within the span of a few hours, they have to cover their academic syllabus along with other extracurricular activities. They are seeking knowledge at formal tuitions and are not able to grasp all things at the same time. At home, parents provide them knowledge in comfortable methods with better understanding.

Moreover, as per the current scenario of pandemic, pupils are at home and seeking online classes and are more in touch with their mothers and fathers. Tutors at formal institutions have to pay attention to many learners at the same time. On the flip side, families have to guide only their offspring and are capable of dealing with them successfully.

Similarly,  people are aware about the strengths and weaknesses of their children and can tackle them accordingly. As per the survey done by the students at the University of Toronto, it was found that those learners, who were tutored by their parents and are not attending any formal tuitions, performed better than those opting for schooling due to the busy schedule of their parents.

To conclude, the young generation is more impacted by their family environment as they spend more time with their elders and excel personally and academically, which cannot be provided by a formal tutor due to limited time span and formal relationship.

Some people believe that the culture will be ruined if it is used to earn tourism revenue. Others believe that tourism is the only way to protect the culture. Discuss both the sides and give your opinion.

Some people believe that the culture will be ruined if it is used to earn tourism revenue. Others believe that tourism is the only way to protect the culture. Discuss both the sides and give your opinion.

Showcasing culture as a part of tourism to gain financial returns has become a subject of intense criticism since many fear  that this might lead to traditions losing their authenticity even though there are differing views from other sections who assert that this is the only way to preserve ways of life.

To start with, every country is trying to introduce its customs to the world. This seems to be the only way to preserve native beliefs since due to the invasion by other dominant cultures in the globalization, it is perceived that now portraying and promoting own customs, that is only possible by letting tourists observe them, can help a society sustain its distinct identity, otherwise it might be blown away in the current era. Besides this, this sector can afford abundant financial resources for sustenance of rich heritage. When travellers arrive they pay to observe various practices and monuments, which generates money and allows those practising the art and the edifices that exhibit  ways of life by providing them money for livelihood and maintenance respectively.

However, those who feel that commercialization of culture for portraying it to foreign leisure travellers can lead the native rituals lose their originality since to attract foreigners, the exponents tend to make modifications in their presentations, which can have an adverse impact on the the traditions as they become vulnerable to losing their originality and being forgotten gradually. They also  cite    examples of damage to artefacts and buildings exposed to tourist activity, which has an irreversible impact on native beliefs.

In the end, I would like to conclude that tourism benefits the country with the revenue and also enhances culture  and tradition, which benefits society, but there is need to be attentive towards the adverse impact of this sector.

Every country should have a free health service, even if this means that the medical treatment may not be available through the service because they are too expensive. Do you agree or disagree with this?  Write in at least 250 words?

Health is a fundamental right of every human being. Some people believe that a country should provide free health services, even if costly  medical intervention is excluded from such service. In this essay i would like to discuss this.

To start with, every county has poor people who cannot afford basic services. A free public healthcare system is essential to cater to their healthcare needs. If the government provides free health services in the country, everyone can live healthy as it is said health is wealth. Healthy people give more contribution to economic productivity, helping the country  progress faster. Also, by providing free health care the government can prevent disease from spreading.

On the other hand, there is widespread criticism of this proposal: excluding cost intensive healthcare interventions out of the ambit of free health will do little good since with new strains and types emerging and evolving in the existing list of diseases and ailments mandates expensive research, which will eventually take every type of treatment out of the scope of this policy, leaving  people helpless.

Similarly, such a system will make it harder for the destitute, unemployed and the elderly - the most vulnerable group - high and dry since they will not be able to afford any remedy for their sufferings, exposing society to poor health conditions and since the state is vested with the onus of ensuring wellness of citizens, it cannot resort to such impractical policies.

To cap it all, I would like to conclude that the government should include every service in the healthcare support system, otherwise it would be useless and would fail miserably in ensuring the well being of society, eventually affecting the productivity.

It is being noticed that students do not study as intensively in university as they used to do in schools. What are the causes of this change? What could be done to improve the situation?

It is being noticed that students do not study as intensively in university as they used to do in schools. What are the causes of this change? What could be done to improve the situation?

Nowadays an increasing trend is being noticed that younger people  as they cross schooling stage and join colleges, they often tend to lose interest in studies. Some people often wonder about the causes of this new phenomenon and wish to find a solution to this.

To start with, students cross the school stage at the age of 18 when they become adults and they do not have that many restrictions in universities, which makes them drift away from their primary objective. Moreover, As most of the time students happen to pass through a very complex and stressful stage of penultimate years of schooling where they have to dedicate more and more time in pursuing a good score. During this process they often go into a state of social disconnect and are confined to study tables only. So when they enter the liberal environment of the university, they try to compensate for the time they have lost in school.

Nevertheless, overcoming this situation is not impossible since it is quite easy to encourage youngsters to keep in touch with their academic pursuits. Universities should arrange some regular workshops and set up initiatives - that can include some rewards and benefits - to persuade learners to bring out their academic excellence. This would prevent them from disconnecting from studies. Also, parents should intervene and encourage  their children to be more involved in studies. On top of that, varisities should also implement  the system of regular examinations and assessments that will compel pupils to commit themselves to their academic pursuits.

Overall, I would like to conclude that although it is true that disenchantment from rigorous study routines  has its roots in hard work done in schools, it is possible to convince university learners to study with dedication.

The age of Information Technology has taken a lot of people by surprise. While it has become a way of life for some, others know very little about it and may be unlikely to learn. Eventually we will have a polarized society and this will lead to serious social problems. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

The age of Information Technology has taken a lot of people by surprise

Yes this will create big problems (assumption) and gaps

  •  Knowledge, and lack of it, would create jealousy among people and those are against technology might try to create hurdles for others too

No, this unlikely to create big problems (assumption) and gaps

  • Those against this, are the ones who are nearing retirement, and will be ousted within a decade

  • There is little chance of any clash since the ones using IT in all its manifestations  are regarded as intelligent and  everyone is trying to emulate them.

  • Most of the companies have started shifting to automation and need people who can handle technology: for this, they are either recruiting tech savvy people or are training their employees to become one.

The proliferation/spread of information technology has happened at a startling/an alarming pace, and left a sizable proportion of population miles behind. Several lobbies fear that since this gap might never be bridged, it could cause social discord in society. However, this notion can be challenged on various grounds.

To start with, the assumption and theory of friction among sections that are familiar and those strangers to this revolution, are floated/created by certain critics who fear that this might create jealousy in those who are not accustomed/used to this technology, and they could erect hurdles for the other sections, leading to a feeling of mistrust. This section cites/quotes certain rare events to prove their point, such as it has been infrequently observed that senior members of the workforce, who are alien to computers, in some organisations refuse to cooperate and work with their younger tech savvy colleagues, affecting interpersonal relationships and eventually the productivity.

Having said that, such a pessimistic view can be easily proven wrong/quashed by delving deeper into the reality. Those found rejecting this technology and its application are the ones who are nearing retirement and will be replaced by their  younger counterparts who can interact with IT and its various manifestations effortlessly and effectively, ruling out any possibility of conflicts. Furthermore, the current recruitment criteria are based on the ability to handle this modern introduction efficiently, and even existing staff is being trained to familiarise them with this new invention. Such factors blur any possibility of society falling apart, owing to ability or inability to handle information technology.

Overall, I strongly dissent with this notion and feel that the day is not far when everyone will become acclimatized with various forms of this new innovation, leaving hardly anyone out of the ambit of this development.

More and more people are getting overweight. Some people think that increasing the price of fattening food items can solve this problem. Do you agree or disagree?

More and more people are getting overweight. Some people think that increasing the price of fattening food items can solve this problem. Do you agree or disagree?

The great public discourse of concurrent times is associated with whether the intake of high calorie food can be mitigated by raising the price of such items, or not. Some support this and others oppose this.

A lobby professes that the rise in the prices of food loaded with glutton would definitely reduce the intake of junk food as this would force consumers to switch to low calorie options which are healthier in nature, restricting the food shopping and  thus consumption. To exemplify, the International Food Policy Research Institute is proposing hiking the cost of calorie-rich edible items after a successful pilot study conducted in various parts of the world, wherein the targeted population involved in study almost eliminated the edible products, from their shopping lists, that were laden with fat because of the unaffordable prices.

However, a section disagrees with the notion and believes, this move might not yield the desired results since the origin of this problem lies in the inability of a major part of the population to procure or cook healthy options due to their over engagement with their work or studies, leaving them with little time to consider their health, and so they choose they the readily available alternatives. To add to the woes, most are committed to flaunt their association with processed and packed food, which is often filled with fatty ingredients to enhance the taste that eventually causes addiction. Such people will continue to consume such material despite high prices.

Overall, I disagree with the notion that raising the price of high calorie food would address the issue. People need to remain aware of their well being. It is necessary to discover plausible options to surmount this challenge.

Some people think it is better for children to have many short holidays during the year. Others believe it would be beneficial to have fewer, longer vacations. Discus both views and give your opinion.

Some people think it is better for children to have many short holidays during the year. Others believe it would be beneficial to have fewer, longer vacations. Discus both views and give your opinion.

In contemporary times, there has been a debate going on about  whether school going students should get long breaks from school, or  brief ones frequently. I will elucidate both the views and share a justified opinion.

To embark upon discussion, short breaks at frequent intervals of time can help in keeping the mind of children relaxed and rejuvenated throughout the year. They do not feel burdened and also  brave the pressure of studies effectively. This helps in replenishing their energy levels, and makes them go to school with enthusiasm since they do not find their daily routine monotonous, and can also participate in extracurricular activities such as drawing, side by side, without disconnecting themselves from their studies.

Having said that, some are in favor of long holidays: as per them, this can aid students in  accompanying their families to far-off locations and destinations, and break the mundane of their daily engagement of traveling from home to school and back, and also within their city, letting them earn pleasant experiences and expanding their horizons. They can also use this time to develop skills in other academic and non-academic domains. For instance, in long breaks the children opt for classes of recreational  activities of their choice: dance, singing and sports, to name a few, this helps build their talent which they can also opt for as a profession as adults. Besides this, this can also render them an opportunity to go and meet their relatives and cousins and spend quality time with them, strengthening their bonds as a result.

In hindsight, even though both kinds of holiday breaks are useful, I opine the long term breaks offer more since these enable youngsters to broaden their horizons and also strengthen their bonds.

Some people say private schools should be banned because they give students an unfair advantage on others. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and include relevant examples from your own experience.

Some people say private schools should be banned because they give students an unfair advantage on others. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and include relevant examples from your own experience.

In contemporary times private schools are believed to have revolutionized the schooling  system, but a school of thought believes that they should be closed as they afford their students unfair benefits, and cause  disparities. This has resulted in  a profound discussion. In this essay, I will analyze up to what extent the proposal of closing private formal tuition is justified.

To commence with, those lobbying behind the notion of doing away with privately run schools, based on their assumptions, feel that the kind of facilities these  institutions offer to the pupils creates a permanent gap between the haves and have nots. These establishments render extensive study support, in the form of modern facilities, like smart classes, up to date courseware and expert faculty, which students of public schools can only imagine. Such disparity leaves the latter at a disadvantage since they are never able to garner proficiency in the subjects they pursue, making them incapable of matching professional skills which those studying in private undertakings can effortlessly obtain.

Having said that, some commentators dismiss such a thought. They assert that  private education is playing a vital role in the education system since it has provided innovation  to the education system which is benefiting society. These institutions have introduced the latest methods that have allowed students to gain vast knowledge in every area, be it academic, or extracurricular activities, which has made it possible to raise the standards of education. In fact, these have set benchmarks for others to follow and bring around improvements. Closing them, thus, will only result in chaos.

To recap, I strongly believe that imposing a prohibition on  these schools would be a huge loss for society. The objections raised by critics of such institutions should be ignored for the public good.

Elderly people are nowadays being sent to old aged homes rather than being looked after by a family. Do the advantages of old aged homes outweigh the disadvantages?

Elderly people are nowadays being sent to old aged homes rather than being looked after by a family. Do the advantages of old aged homes outweigh the disadvantages?

In the era when senior citizens have no other place other than old age homes, a profound discussion has started over the pros and cons of these facilities. In this essay, I shall be discussing whether the former outshine the latter or not.

The  boarding and lodging facilities carry a major advantage, these are equipped with amenities and support systems that are designed and fitted to suit the needs of those in their advanced age. For instance, these establishments have lifts and walking ramps instead of stairs, and toilet seats of sufficient height to prevent any injuries. This makes it easier for the elderly occupants to move around and carry out their routine tasks effortlessly without external help. Similarly, these places also offer round the clock medical support, by virtue of the presence of doctors and nurses throughout the day and night.

Moreover, security is another major factor which makes retirement homes favorable locations for the lonely aged individuals or couples. Since these complexes are managed and monitored by security personnel, the older people can live without fear of becoming victims of crimes like robbery, mugging and so on, which otherwise is impossible to render.

However, all the support and ease provided by such places cannot conceal the gloomy environment they have since those living in these homes are in their autumn years and are vulnerable to disease and death. This scenario makes people desperate as they observe their co-inhabitants falling sick and dying. Additionally, these locations are a financial burden on society since it must allocate invaluable public money to fund these services.

Overall, I strongly feel that the benefits extended by homes for the ageing fail to exceed the shortcomings, it is in fact the other way round, owing to morbid surroundings.

In the future nobody will buy printed newspaper or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying

Why Online Modes of News Will overwhelm

  • Future generation that will have little time to spare to visit newsstands or book marts.
  • Convenience  in handling mediums
  • Environmentally conscious and people will play their part in preserving nature
Why Paper-based Newspapers will Survive
  • Many will still prefer reading paper-based newspaper: these can function without any external  source
  • Many will also intend to earn a break from mundane of engaging with technology in all aspects of life

There is nowadays an intriguing debate brewing up, due to increasing propensity among people to seek information online free of cost, whether the paper based newspapers and books have any future, or will they become a thing of the past.

E-papers and e-books are quite likely to gain favors from the future generation that will have little time to spare to visit newsstands or book marts. Also, convenience in handling mediums will be another factor that will make readers  abandon the paper based mediums. Electronic devices like mobiles, tablets, and computers that are quite handy in comparison to clumsy newspapers and bulky books – that are surely a trouble to carry –will become prominent.

Moreover, the next generation will be more environmentally conscious and people will play their part in preserving nature by reducing the reliance on the paper to alleviate deforestation. This will make them switch to the electronic newspaper which is not only easy to access but also prevents any harm to the surroundings.

However, a lobby is unconvinced about the probability of traditional ways of reading disappearing. Many will still prefer reading paper-based newspaper: these humble mediums can function without any external  source like electricity and internet, to render information, making them useful even in far-flung areas. Also, those needing to earn healthy distraction from the overwhelming engagement with technology in their professional and personal realms, will take some time off to access something that does not tire their eyes with radiation - emitted from the brightly lit screens - and continue their rendezvous with the conventional means.

Overall, despite some predicting the demise of newspapers and books, the likelihood of these mediums continuing to survive is more, thanks to the avid readers who would stick to this practice. Therefore, I completely dissent with the statement.

Currently there is a trend towards the use of alternative forms of medicine. However, at best these methods are ineffective, and at worst they may be dangerous. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In concurrent times, an inclination to subscribe to alternative forms of medicines is on the rise. Some vehemently deride this shift and suggest that these methods are dangerous and uncertain. I completely agree with the given statement. I will elucidate my view in the following paragraphs.

This view is primarily promoted by modern medicine practitioners who suggest that neither there is any evidence available about what ingredients are used in the formulation of medications - in other than the allopathic system - nor are these tested and certified by the recognized university or laboratory. However, modern dispensation is duly researched as per up-to-date norms and verified under the watchful eyes of scientists and doctors. In addition, there is no clear mention about what principles, methods and theories are deployed in unorthodox treatment while prescribing treatment, and how long intervention is likely to continue.

Nevertheless, some who lobby for/rally behind the notion that former views represent unfounded fears. This partisan group claims  that natural medicines completely depend on natural ingredients and aim at eradicating the disease from its roots, while the contemporary system is simply meant to suppress pain temporarily and does not offer permanent remedies for most of the disease and afflictions. Also, this view also banks on the belief that concepts such as Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and so on, have been used for centuries, but modern medicines evolved only in the 19th century after the advent of concepts enacted by the Lister revolution,  and before that the human race was completely dependent on alternative forms of medicines.

Thus, it would be wrong to promote the notion that ancient systems of treating diseases and ailments can jeopardize human health since these have existed for eons(ages) together. I strongly feel that today a blend of both the methods should be used to alleviate sufferings of people.

Should there be a minimum school leaving age, or should students and their parents be free to decide when they leave school? Discuss and give your opinion on this in not less than 250 words

Should there be a minimum school leaving age, or should students and their parents be free to decide when they leave school? Discuss and give your opinion on this in not less than 250 words

Should there be a minimum school leaving age

There is a fierce and profound debate going on between educationalists and social theorists about when one can drop schooling: where some vouch for such an arrangement, others feel continuing with schooling should be the prerogative of the pupils and their parents.

To carry on with the schooling, or not, should be the decision taken by the learners and their families since many opine that academic curriculum made available at the schools has little relevance in the professional pursuits of youngsters. They are forced to study those subjects for which they have little inclination: this might cause enchantment, among young ones, towards studies, making them abandon education altogether. The precious years wasted at school could be used to obtain knowhow about the field young individuals might like to join.

However, many commentators lambast the former opinion: they feel it is based on an imprudent assumption that if allowed to be practised will do more harm than good to the young ones. Leaving schooling midway will deprive the youngsters of an opportunity to complete their education. In the times, when right from the first professional assignment to the elevation to higher levels, requires one to have a complete formal education, those dropping out of schooling as per their wish will permanently be confined to low paying jobs, making their future prospects grim. If this trend is allowed to proliferate, the society will very soon be populated by poorly earning individuals who have little contribution to make to the economic productivity of the nation.

Overall, controversies apart, I strongly feel that there is little rationale behind allowing young learners to abandon schooling at will. Formal tuition is meant to develop multiple facets of the personality of the young ones  which lays foundation for a well-informed adulthood.

Some people think that robots are very important to human’s future development. Others think that they are dangerous and have negative effects on society. Discuss both opinions and give your personal view.

Some people think that robots are very important to human’s future development. Others think that they are dangerous and have negative effects on society. Discuss both opinions and give your personal view.

Some people think that robots are very important to human’s future development

  • ROBOTS ARE BENEFICIAL FOR HUMAN’S FUTURE  DEVELOPMENT

    • These  machines can guarantee a long term solution for complex becoming work processes that need speed

    • Can perform repetitive tasks consistent

    • precision and uniformity: humans will need the work to be more precise since every sphere of human life is likely to become more sophisticated

    • Safety is what these machines can render to humans since these devices can even work in hazardous and those environment  which are beyond the reach of mankind

    • economical: these machines are capable of working without needing extra overheads

They are dangerous and have negative effects on society.

  • Unemployment. These are likely to cause large joblessness
  • Loss of skills: humans will forget their skills and abilities
  • They depend on an external power source and if that does not become available due to some reasons, humans will become helpless
  • These machines can be easily manipulated and hacked and used against humans

Despite robots  ushering in an era of ease and promises for the furtherance of progress in all spheres of life, there is skepticism about the impact of these machines since certain perceptions enumerate the hazards these could present to society.

There is optimism across several sections: artificial intelligence can afford unprecedented speed and economy, and  the way the things are progressing, it is quite evident that future progress will depend on how quickly jobs in manufacturing environment or in services can be performed  economically. These  devices  are capable of working tirelessly  without needing breaks and also without financial stimulants. This aspect can ensure optimal productivity in all sectors.

Moreover, undeniably, precision is something one cannot discount while using this apparatus. The future will depend on how precisely and meticulously various undertakings can be negotiated. For instance, producing equipment, even household,  for use by humans that is likely to become  more sophisticated, owing to its compact size, will be an onerous task for human workers; however, the automated machines will be able to perform those flawlessly.

Nevertheless, those cynical fear that this will jeopardize human life, and misery will descent in the form of rampant unemployment, especially in the skilled trades, causing widespread poverty and economic pressure of the state, for it will have to support jobless demographics. Additionally, the attenuation of skills – even the basic - is another predicament which is potential outcome, something mankind ill-afford. With these machines dominating every sphere of work, people will find it hard to retain their knowhow.

Overall, although one can hardly deny the impediments these computerized gadgets are going to erect, the fears are inappropriate since progress cannot be halted on such pretext. Nonetheless, prudent steps will need to taken to offset the unfavorable effects of such evolution.

Some people prefer to relax by doing physical activities, while others choose mental activities such as crossword puzzles or chess. Discuss both views and include your own opinion.

Some people prefer to relax by doing physical activities

When it comes to rejuvenating oneself, people have disparate choices. Some opt for exercise, or sports, others are inclined to undertaking such endeavors that challenge their intellect. Both the partisan fractions cite plausible reasons in support of their view.

Many are in favor of engaging in something that predisposes them to physical exertion. This view is based on the certain revelations made public by health researchers who profess about the  benefits of engaging in exercise or sport to unwind, that can be derived in the form of metabolizing stress hormones and making an individual feel fresh. Modern lifestyle entails grueling work routines that result in accumulation of stress, which can be disposed only by involving oneself in some kind of exercise.

Similarly, in contemporary times, people have become enlightened about their wellbeing, and since most of their day, at work or at home, is influenced by sedentary lifestyle and faulty food habits, they attempt participation in physical activities, in any form. This can help them not only burn extra calories they consume by indulging in gluttony but also keep their mental and physical health sound, and evade the diseases and disorders caused by modern lifestyles.

However, some have a penchant for occupying themselves with intellectual activities, like playing chess or solving crosswords,  during their leisure time. This propensity is commonly observed among those who either have little interest in visiting a gym, or are engaged in work that drains them of energy. Choosing such pastimes helps stimulate their intellect, and also render them relief in  the comfort of their homes.

Overall, I opine both the methods, physical or mental activities,  have their distinct advantages and help individuals fulfill the primary objective of earning a healthy distraction from their stressful engagements in professional, social and personal realms.

Because many children are not able to learn foreign languages, schools should not force them to learn foreign languages. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Because many children are not able to learn foreign languages

The rationale behind making foreign languages an integral part of academic curriculum is vehemently questioned by many since they feel such learning is challenging for several pupils. This perception and fear can be  allayed easily on various grounds.

The sceptics to foreign language study at the formal tuition are often found arguing that such an endeavor is not the forte of every young mind since most young learners hail from either extremely conservative social backgrounds, or societies which have little exposure to aliens, which makes it hard for children to apply the linguistic skills garnered at the school in their surroundings, and thus, to retain whatever they have learnt in their language classes.

Nevertheless, grasping the know-how of an alien tongue is as critical as studying other academic subjects in the highly globalized world of today. The speed with which the political, cultural and ethnic boundaries are blurring in the contemporary era, the time is not far when the citizens of the global village will be found interacting with one another more actively, and linguistic barriers could inhibit social, cultural and professional progress. Therefore, schools should don the mantle of training the future global citizens right from a young age.

Moreover, evading such learning on the pretext of it being an uphill task, is an unconvincing assumption. Every academic realm presents distinct challenges, and young curious minds are able to surmount those eventually. Likewise, language learning can also progress in a similar fashion and all excuses can be overlooked. Various scientific studies have also proven that youngsters can absorb multiple languages effortlessly.

Overall, despite resentment among several sections, pupils should be  taught additional languages compulsorily since this would benefit youngsters humongously in multiple domains in the long run.

Some people believe that women should be treated as equal to men when applying for a job with the police or the military. Others think women are less suitable for this kind of job. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people believe that women should be treated as equal to men when applying for a job with the police or the military. Others think women are less suitable for this kind of job.  Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The great public discourse of contemporary times is aligned with the issue whether women should be afforded equal opportunities in armed forces or not. While some render/lend their full-fledged support to this proposal, others think differently.

To start with, a large section of liberal school of thought rallies vehemently behind this idea. Their opinion is founded on the historical facts which clearly highlight the ability of the women to excel in combat roles. In the past too women did not only fight actively but also led the armies to the war. For instance, the Queen of Jhansi and Joan of Arc, this makes it imperative to do justice to this gender in contemporary times too.

Moreover, women can also be seen performing adventure sports and other daring activities that challenge mental and physical endurance. This can corroborate by citing a study that was carried out over a 5 years period and evaluated merely 600 locations across the world to gauge the gender participation in various risky sports. It was found that more than 40 percent participants in such endeavours were females who had no qualms (regret/doubt) about it and were instead inclined to attempt these again. This strongly justifies the reason why women need to be allowed to work in an active role in armed forces and law enforcement.

However, conservatives are up in arms against such a suggestion. They draw their inspiration from a highly biased belief that women lack physical robustness in mental resilience to handle strenuous  jobs, and only men are compatible for such tasks. Nevertheless, this notion can be duly challenged and rejected overrule due to absence of any credible proof.

Overall, I strongly feel that the regressive point of view holds little substance, especially in concurrent times when the society is witnessing an equal participation from both the genders. Females deserve the privilege to serve in occupations of strategic importance because of their ability to handle challenging duties.

Some people feel that entertainers (e.g. film starts, pop musicians or sports stars) are paid too much money. Do you agree or disagree? Which other types of job should be highly paid?

The great public discourse of the concurrent times is aligned with the issue of compensation of those engaged in various fields that entertain masses such as films, music, and sports. Many feel that such earnings are way too high. This lobby also suggests certain occupations that should be compensated better.

To start with, a lobby lends it support to astronomical receipts of movie stars, positions and players, to name a few since these individuals are engaged in industries such as films, music, drama, sports and so on, that are known for their volatile nature and continuous success is not guaranteed; people engaged in these occupations are exposed to the risk of going out of demand or out of passion which will make them vulnerable to financial crunch and crisis. Therefore, whatever these people earned is just enough for their survival.

However, critics feel it is rightful to challenge these salaries, for those acting, playing music, or practicing sports are merely educating people, and are hardly doing anything for the betterment of society.  This section elegies that these popular personalities instead tend to inspire young generation to abandon their occupations to pursue their dreams in the entertainment industry, depriving the society of useful skills that could contribute to development.

This school of thought suggests certain professions that need to be paid highly such as medicines, engineering, teaching, and research, to name a few as people involved in these fields work day and night to drive the development and progress of society. And ensure a better future for the upcoming generation.

Overall, I strongly feel that compensation of entertainers is not too high or undeserving since they are faced with great uncertainties, but certain other profession must be better compensated.
