There is a topical debate whether gadgets are better means to impart knowledge and skills to young minds, or not. Although some are skeptical while others are optimistic. Both the partisan factions cite their justified reasons in support of their opinions.

The proposal of integrating technology in classrooms and doing away with traditional means of disseminating knowledge is founded on the concurrent trend, wherein the current generation is overwhelmingly immersed in the technology-driven gadgets  in other spheres of their lives, and find books quite tedious; they have to browse through the pages to locate  information, causing disenchantment from studies.

For instance, using ebooks affords unprecedented convenience, for they carry the facility of bookmarking, highlighting any line with various colors options, marking notes and erasing them as per convenience, to name a few, whereas the paper-based material needs one to struggle with each line and page, causing a disenchantment among youngsters.  Also, this can help prevent youngsters from taxing their tender minds to imagine things; up-to-date methods can explain all the concepts using audio-visual and animation tools, making it easier to comprehend and retain information.

Nevertheless, the conventional methods cannot be discounted, for they teach young minds essential exploratory skills and patience, thereby allowing them to bolster their ability to assess situations without abandoning the task midway; they must read the whole chapters while looking for the relevant material.  Similarly, this also helps foster imagination, creative skills and help develop language, by forcing young minds to visualize what they are perusing and absorbing how sentences are structured appropriately.

Overall, as technology has proliferated every walk of life, learning through computers and gadgets helps to explore more and better. Thus, I feel that imparting knowledge to learners through these means is better than deploying orthodox printed material.
