Some people believe advertisements are useful and informative

In contemporary times, commercials are granted paramount importance due to their ability to inform audiences quickly; however, others oppose this view and assert that this medium misleads the latter and adds up to an unnecessary cost which can be avoided. In this essay, I will elucidate both perspectives in the subsequent paragraphs.

A prominent school of thought propounds that ads help educate the public about a new product by disseminating information about its uses and benefits, in an innovative form - deploying graphics in the form of pictures and videos - which further informs consumers about the usefulness of the promoted merchandise. There have been several specimens of adverts that actually do not only share the information about a product but also carry inputs regarding how using it can benefit people.

Moreover, one can hardly deny that advertising is a means that can penetrate any market and reach to the audience, regardless of the geographical locations and distances involved. This exposes people to new launches that they can use to afford convenience and also improve the quality of their life. For instance, publicity of lifestyle and health products have successfully enlightened millions about their possible benefits and created a demand for the same, which has forced dealers to make the same available easily.

Nevertheless, this medium of spreading the word about a product has become a subject of indignation of critics: they bemoan the aggressive use of such a tool as it leads to augmenting of the prices of goods exponentially. It is a ubiquitous practice of hiring services of great influencers like actors, singers, and sports persons: masses blindly follow these social icons and catapult themselves into a buying spree without realizing the actual use of goods. However, the darker side of such endeavors is the costs involved in producing adverts - involving the fee of the celebrities endorsing goods, preparing material for the ads, hiring services of professionals who design and direct advertising campaigns, and above all, hiring modes where the planned publicity would feature - are colossal, which eventually will be borne  by consumers in the form of hiked prices.

Overall, after assessing both the views, I feel even though there is some substance in the view that derides the use of ads, it will be almost an uphill task to reach the targeted audience without this tool. Therefore, come what may, ads cannot be avoided and will continue to rule the roost.

The tendency  of consuming goods in vogue has experienced a significant surge in recent times. This essay will scrutinise the impact of this on society at large and emanate its stand that this phenomenon is a detrimental evolution.

At the outset, the fashion industry cultivates innovations that result in a multitude of professions, including fashion designers, creative directors, fashion journalists, and so on, thereby churning out employment and professional engagement for millions. Additionally, it provides avenues for self-expression and creativity by empowering  individuals to experiment with different styles and ultimately enhance their self-esteem. Likewise, this ever- evolving industry aids in augmenting advancements in terms of technology and bolstering quality of products.

However, this trend portrays a pessimistic outlook as it leads to excessive consumption and wastage of financial resources. Those who conform to fast fashion patterns,  especially the youngsters, face economic strain due to their inclination to procure the latest merchandise. Similarly, this sector is also blamed for mindless milking of resources and leaving heaps of undesirable items that are discarded after the trend has passed.

Additionally, this is also engendering superfluous beauty standards that often dampen the confidence of individuals, particularly of teenagers, and perpetuates body image issues. In contemporary times, social media encapsulates these changing patterns and influencers portray unrealistic trends that arouse jealousy among people. This may prove to be a daunting experience for those who wish to replicate the emerging styles, negatively impacting their mental well-being.

Therefore, in my opinion, the trendy merchandise industry exerts significant pressure on those wishing to follow trends. This is wreaking havoc in the lives of people who are gullibly entrapped and squander their hard earned money. Thus, this propensity has umpteen pitfalls and is likely to afford severe ramifications for individuals in the form of hardships and crisis.

Tourism is a modern form of colonialism. It distorts local economies, causes environmental damage and ruins the places it exploits. To what extent would you support or reject this idea?

The attitudes towards tourism being a form of imperialism are ambivalent; there are sections that affirm that this sector is bringing several accolades for the nation, while others feel it is engendering environmental issues. In this essay, I shall elucidate my stance on this matter by deliberating upon the various aspects of this industry.

At the outset, those rallying behind this notion base their rationale on the fact that tourism brings forth people from diverse cultures and ethnicities together, empowering harmony between disparate communities, and promulgating bonhomie. Moreover, in order to cater to the growing need of the industry, many professions have been founded, especially in the hospitality and transportation sector . This has seen multifold increment in the employment opportunities for the masses and bringing colossal revenue owing to the tourist developments leading to generating monetary benefits.

However, the opponents might argue that tourism leads to expanding carbon footprint and tourists act in an irresponsible manner by creating a menace by littering around and defacing places.Nevertheless, this underlying notion can be challenged as the benefits reaped from this industry are umpteen: Owing to this, invaluable foreign exchange is being generated leading to reforming economies. More and more tourist destinations are being developed, making people aware and proud of their own cultural heritage.
Therefore, it can be asserted that this industry has witnessed an unprecedented influx of tourists in the contemporary times and aids in fetching unmatched yields such as facilitating cultural exchange, development of infrastructure, and generating sumptuous revenue.

Wealth has always been an enticing aura, engendering a craving to afford the biggest bite of the apple of Adam, persuading; everyone is prepared to step out of their comfort zones to attain prosperity.  However, riches never arrive alone, for they bring along favors and detriments as companions, making it imperative to weigh both.

On the effulgent side, deep pockets afford a feeling of self-sufficiency as it becomes possible to lay every imaginable facility and amenity at the disposal of family and self, one does not have to struggle to make both ends meet. Similarly, prosperity also affords a lavish lifestyle, letting one enjoy the exploits of their financial abilities procuring swanky cars, luxurious mansions, going on expensive and exotic vacations, something that others can only imagine in their dreams.

Similarly, the wealthy are emancipated of worries about dealing with exigencies of disparate variety such as medical or other, by virtue of having enough savings by their side. In a similar manner, their tomorrow is as assured as today as they can invest into quality education of their offspring, aiding the latter in carving a bright  future, and also securing twilight years by putting money into secure investments.

However, the thorny bushes also greet the elite in abundance since vulnerability to the criminals for extortions, ransoms, tax complications - often unleashed on them by insidious taxation laws - can predispose them to sleepless nights and inflict them with afflictions such as depression in extreme cases. Additionally, pressure to sustain the status is overwhelming, making chasing an endless mirage  imperative.

Overall, despite fortune yielding desirable outcomes, one must be prepared to taste the sour fruit too lying embedded deep in the box. Thus, it is extremely essential to practice judiciousness suggested in annals, to enjoy riches and surmount shortcomings efficiently.

Some people think eating meat is bad for health

As per certain health experts, meat eaters  are predisposed to several health challenges. However, this perception can be questioned on various grounds.

The vehement lobbyists vouching for non-meat nourishment profess that those consuming non-vegetarian meals makes one vulnerable to a slew of severe health hazards - that can have an enduring impact on health, by virtue of being laden with saturated and unsaturated fats that can augment cholesterol levels and precipitate umpteen illnesses such as heart disease, liver dysfunction and even bowel cancers. Several studies have attributed a spurt in cardiac conditions in western conditions to regular eating of various flesh, especially the one derived from lamb, beef and pork.

However, the former view is comprehensively quashed by the advocates of meat products. As per them, the fears expressed  by vegetarians hold little substance; it is not the food derived from cows, goats, or chicken, exposing people to diseases, but the sedentary lifestyles; a feature affecting even vegans in equal measures. They often cite the historical evidence of meat being a fulfilling nourishment  to counter the claims of  the latter by quoting that eskimos completely relied on meat, and sustained a robust health, until development touched them, and they adopted indolent ways of life.

Similarly, this nourishment is a rich source of protein, iron, and vitamins: B12, and D, that are hard to derive from other options since cereals, vegetables and fruits have these in either complex form, or minuscule quantities. To corroborate, athletes in endurance sports, soldiers and those working in taxing conditions are recommended this nutrition regularly.

In hindsight, quite contrary to the modern perception, food derived from the flesh of animals, birds and fish, is laden with abundant nutrients that if taken in sync with active lifestyle, can bolster well being.

Some people suggest that bringing up children by the whole family including uncles, aunts and grandparents is better, rather than only by parents, but others disagree with this statement. Discuss and give your opinion and examples.

When it comes to comparing rearing juveniles, a fierce debate ensues: some feel this task is best done in the extended family environment; it affords umpteen favorable outcomes, whereas others strongly lean in the favor of nuclear settings.

Those advocating upbringing by the whole family propound that this allows youngsters to establish better bonds with the entire family, and ensure that they embrace a liberal view of things, making them grow more social and receptive by virtue of encountering disparate opinions from diverse age-groups - cousins, grandparents, and relatives, helping youingsters become adaptive and akin to teamwork, contributing to the decision making process: whether it is related to career or financial matters,  aiding in their well-rounded development. Likewise, owing to the presence of the entire family, youngsters face less anxious moments and  anxiety; they have a much broader resource for counseling, allowing them to cruise smoothly through hard times during studies. Also, such an arrangement eases up the burden on working parents, making parenting much easier.

However, some sections consider mothers and  fathers as the most suitable mechanism for raising little ones: those growing up in such surroundings  develop a sense of independence in formative years, promoting self learning and doing things by oneself, making them grow to have strong mental strength. Similarly, they are less prone to any emotional stigma that any family member or relative might bring to the table. A recent study by Dr. J Potter from Toronto university further indicated that children raised by parents alone stand a much greater chance of becoming a self-made millionaire.

Therefore, both the settings have distinct benefits to offer in their own way, and it is the individual prerogative to choose any of these environments, but the objective is to ensure a sound rearing to youngsters.

Nowadays, schools should not use textbooks because children get bored with books. Using games, computers and TV is a better way to give them new information and knowledge. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

There is a topical debate whether gadgets are better means to impart knowledge and skills to young minds, or not. Although some are skeptical while others are optimistic. Both the partisan factions cite their justified reasons in support of their opinions.

The proposal of integrating technology in classrooms and doing away with traditional means of disseminating knowledge is founded on the concurrent trend, wherein the current generation is overwhelmingly immersed in the technology-driven gadgets  in other spheres of their lives, and find books quite tedious; they have to browse through the pages to locate  information, causing disenchantment from studies.

For instance, using ebooks affords unprecedented convenience, for they carry the facility of bookmarking, highlighting any line with various colors options, marking notes and erasing them as per convenience, to name a few, whereas the paper-based material needs one to struggle with each line and page, causing a disenchantment among youngsters.  Also, this can help prevent youngsters from taxing their tender minds to imagine things; up-to-date methods can explain all the concepts using audio-visual and animation tools, making it easier to comprehend and retain information.

Nevertheless, the conventional methods cannot be discounted, for they teach young minds essential exploratory skills and patience, thereby allowing them to bolster their ability to assess situations without abandoning the task midway; they must read the whole chapters while looking for the relevant material.  Similarly, this also helps foster imagination, creative skills and help develop language, by forcing young minds to visualize what they are perusing and absorbing how sentences are structured appropriately.

Overall, as technology has proliferated every walk of life, learning through computers and gadgets helps to explore more and better. Thus, I feel that imparting knowledge to learners through these means is better than deploying orthodox printed material.

Some people think that parents should teach their children about the importance of recycling, while others think it should be taught in school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people think that parents should teach their children about the importance of recycling, while others think it should be taught in school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

In contemporary times, many believe it is necessary to teach youngsters about the significance of recycling. A sizable lobby feels it must be taught by parents. However, many think it should be taught in schools.

To embark upon the discussion, parents are the role models of their wards  and the latter tend to follow their footsteps without questioning; anything the parents do is grasped immediately. Additionally, the skill cannot be developed by reading books; rather it is better learnt in a practical environment where mothers and fathers provide realistic examples to their children. Hence, many feel it is the duty of families to teach their young ones about the importance of this process.

On the flip side, others feel that schools should be responsible to impart such knowledge. Educational institutions have adequate facilities to create an environment to provide children with any kind of skills. They can create curriculum and schedule separate periods for such activities; faculties can be assigned to teach the young ones about such a process. Moreover, formal tuition is vested with the obligation of polishing the personalities of the young individuals; in the near future, recycling is likely to become an essential part of the personalities of the rational adults and thus, it should be fostered during formative years. Moreover, young minds have the tendency to learn better in a formal environment, along with their peers where they can also grab the content clearly which is retained life long.

In the end, I feel even though parents play an important role in educating their wards about the importance of reprocessing, formal institutions are the proper place to provide their students with such expertise; they have the expertise and resources to see this task through.

Nowadays many people want to buy famous brands of clothes, cars and other items. What are the reasons for this. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Nowadays many people want to buy famous brands of clothes

More and more people are becoming inclined to consuming clothes manufactured by established and famous companies. This phenomenon is fuelled by multiple reasons, but is impacting society unfavorable

Most are tempted into buying goods primarily due to the innate quality of humans  to emulate each other, especially the affluent and celebrated personalities who endorse through ads. This yearning is bolstered by higher disposable incomes and availability of the  merchandise designed and manufactured to address the expectations and aspirations of diverse income groups. This tendency is assumed to be making people feel up-to-date, contented with their living conditions, and eventually confident. An opinion goes to the extent of terming this inclination as a development helping bridge gaps between diverse socioeconomic groups.

Notwithstanding certain plausible advantages, this is predisposing people to several difficulties, who out of their intent to flaunt  their affluence, or match the standards of their elite peers, end up spending their hard earned money extravagantly, often exhausting their reserves, and making them vulnerable to financial crisis. The most profoundly affected group from this development is that of the youngsters who in an attempt to match possessions of their rich friends, raise unwarranted demands on their parents, and making them struggle hard to meet the demands: various studies have substantiated the fact that a major portion of household budgets is spent on buying, or maintaining prohibitively expensive goods of coveted brands, considered a luxury, leaving them with little for the rainy days.

Overall, it can be thus said, despite making people feel happy and confident, the penchant  to flaunt wealth is exposing them to financial troubles since they are unable to save money for their future. Therefore, this phenomenon is an unfavourable evolution: benefits are eclipsed by drawbacks.
