In contemporary times, the workforce is plagued with a plethora of health issues due to insufficient physical activities. This is believed to stem from a myriad of causes, nonetheless remedies can be discovered to surmount this modern malady.

Many are unable to make time for exercising from their hectic schedule after a long day at work. Employees around the world are spending a significant amount of time commuting to and fro from their workplace since most of the jobs are in urban areas which are inundated with traffic issues and inadequate public transportation.

Additionally, one does not feel motivated to hit the gym after returning from work, owing to the high pressures they have to deal with in their day to day schedule, resulting in heightened stress and leaving them mentally exhausted. On top of that, performance demands at many positions entail following sedentary lifestyles, whereas in the past it was labor intensive and one did not have to spend additional time on physical activities.

Nonetheless, there are several mechanisms to overcome these issues. Employers can play a significant role to ensure their staff get ample opportunities to maintain their fitness. In the modern connected world, many workplaces do not require their employees to be present on site; professional obligations can be met while working from home. Similarly, organizations can provide gym and other recreational facilities like swimming pools at office locations and organize seminars on how to effectively manage work-life balance.

Overall, paucity of time and lack of motivation are the primary reasons due to which people are unable to spend as much amount of time engaging in physical endeavors as they would like to. These factors can be addressed by implementing policies that will encourage workers to pay attention to their fitness.
