Child rearing is both an arduous, as well as a tricky task. To make it worthwhile, many suggest imposing a strict control over their behavior by parents and teachers though some propose exercising certain amount of freedom with the young ones.

Spare the rod and spoil the child. Therefore, maintaining strict vigil over the conduct of children is of critical importance. They are too immature to distinguish right from right, and any failure to do so, could make the young minds go astray; hence, causing distortion in their personalities, and they may grow up as unruly and unyielding individuals.

Furthermore, failing to regulate child behavior has can further influence other spheres of their adult lives. Juveniles find it hard to adjust with others and accommodate disparate opinions. This can impede progress in personal, social and the professional realms. And, by the time they realize and try to overcome these shortcomings, it may be too late. Thus, it is quite justified to nip the evil in its bud and let not a preventable issue exacerbate into a serious challenge that may hamper the growth.

Nevertheless, some do not concur with restricting the ways in which the children behave. This school of thought feels that there is a likelihood of growing minds becoming too timid or bereft of creativity and ability to take initiative. There is a good chance that these youngsters may never be able to take decisions without directions of others since they may be lacking in confidence.

In the end, I personally feel exercising extremes may not be in the interest of the young lot, the upcoming generation is the future of society and it is the responsibility of both teachers and the parents to ensure future inhabitants grow up as well-behaved adults.
