IELTS ESSAY NEGLECT OF CHILDREN

No wonder with most adults spending most of their day confined to their cubicles, or engaged in their social obligations, children are the hardest hit since they are generally ignored. This is having a detrimental impact on the young  ones though some do have contrasting views on this.

This neglect, as per social theorist, is taking children away from not only sense of family identity but it is also becoming extremely challenging to perpetuate culture and traditions. The near absence of any fruitful interaction between people and their little ones is making it hard to familiarize little ones with their family backgrounds - explaining about the importance of relationships with grandparents and cousins, as well as enlighten them about the customs.

Moreover, another adverse impact that can hardly be ignored is the young ones becoming arrogant due to lack of monitoring. Youngsters do not have anyone to guide them – the situation is exacerbated by availability  of violence laden games and TV shows. This deprives growing minds of opportunities to learn about acceptable behavior, which can have a long lasting ramifications for their personalities.

However, many see this failing to look after by parents  in positive light. They feel that this teaches children to be independent and responsible. Since for most of the day they do not have anyone to care for them, the young ones learn to be independent and grow up as responsible individuals. It has been seen that such youngsters grow up with a broader perspective of the world around them.

On an overall, although it is true that parents are not able to devote time to their wards as they did in the past, the outcomes are not as grim as many might fear though everyone should strike a healthy balance between personal and professional life.
