The astronomical sales being achieved by the consumer companies depicts the power of advertisement, rather than the need of the society where they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Write at least 250 words

It is a hot debate today, whether the high volume of sales of popular consumer commodities is a result of the aggressive Advertising or does it fulfill the needs of the society. Some sections hold an introspective view and some are totally in the confirmation with the opinion that advertising is creating an evil of overspending and.

Advertising is a formidable medium that can create an atmosphere that can influence the customer behavior drastically,  which alters the commodity usage pattern in a very short interval. For instance, today air-conditioner is considered more of a necessity than the luxury of yesteryears. A major chunk of urban and semi-urban population today prefers to have it over desert coolers.

Moreover, this medium has the capability to create, what we may term as cult. Almost all the branded goods as prospering through the addiction and the compelling effect created by the publicity campaigns, e.g. an offer by of renowned apparel company, buy 3 get 7 free, these kind of inducements pull the consumers into the traps, often catapulting them into shopping spree and sometimes beyond their financial feasibility.

Nevertheless, although commercials are a formidable mean of reaching out to masses, spanning across society and globe in shortest possible time, when it comes to achieving sales ruling factors of huge sales are primarily driven by an exponential rise in the population, and proliferating consumerist attitude, coupled by facilities that support such behavior like easy loans, is sending the demand for all kinds of goods spiraling.

In conclusion, I would say that advertising is not creating an evil  of addiction coercion, instead informs society of the options, enabling it a wider choice, moreover the increase in populace is more to blame for huge sales.

Young drivers are careless and overconfident, and too many are killed in accidents. To eliminate this problem, we could teach children the skills of safe driving while they are at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Young drivers are careless and overconfident, and too many are killed in accidents. To eliminate this problem, we could teach children the skills of safe driving while they are at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Young Careless Drivers
Young motorists are often viewed as reckless and excessively self-assured, and a significant number cause road mishaps. Some people suggest that this issue could be tackled by introducing road safety training to students during their school years. I strongly support this idea since schooling has a deep impact on the personalities of youngsters.

Youngsters tend to be more impulsive and may overlook hazards associated with irresponsible behaviour on the road. Consequently, they are more prone to speeding, driving while distracted, or attempting to impress their peers. Thus,  if schooling incorporated comprehensive education about safe driving practices into the curriculum, they could gain essential knowledge about road regulations, risk management, and defensive driving well before obtaining a licence. This early preparation in classroom settings would help cultivate a sense of responsibility and caution as this environment has a potential to deliver persuasive  learning, carefully planned and disseminated by teachers.

Furthermore, formal tuition can afford effective environments for influencing long-term attitudes. By using practical workshops, virtual simulations, and analyses of real-life crash scenarios, educators can demonstrate the serious consequences of unsafe driving practices. Such initiatives would not only equip pupils with practical skills but also foster maturity and accountability. To corroborate, a pilot program was initiated in various schools of Finland in 2020, wherein formal syllabus included rendering conceptual knowledge and simulator to prepare learners of middle schools to be rationale drivers, and it has been found that young individuals receiving such education have grown into prudent individuals acting responsibly when sitting behind wheels.

In conclusion, incorporating road safety education into the school system is a constructive step toward decreasing fatalities on roads occurring due to rash driving by young people: these institutions have appropriate resources and enjoy the ability to polish overall persona of young individuals.

Today reckless driving and deaths due to road accidents involving younger people driving automobiles is a growing menace. It has become a dire need to put a check on this problem. There are certain experts who suggest that it will be good idea if this initiative could be taken up by schools to impart training and education on safe driving habits to young generation in their growing years. Some sections though contradict this and feel it is inappropriate.

Adventurous attitude of youth is assumed to be main cause behind present trend of rising road mishaps. As it happens that when these people step into drivable age, they seem to lack proper inputs and training on how to keep roads safe and in their quest for more adventure, they sometimes commit serious mistakes loose their lives. If they could be trained by their educational institution at a very young age, it would not only expose them to basics of road safety norms but also help them to get right attitude needed to drive safely.

Similarly, some social scientists feel that when it is the responsibility of an academic establishment to nurture qualities of a good citizenship in their pupils, then they should also participate in this mission, as safe roads also form a premise of a mature and rational adulthood.

There are strong contradictions to this theory as many have the opinion that teaching children how to drive will be waste of time as this knowledge cannot be put to use until they grow upto 18 years.

To conclude, I would rather say that stricter license issuing norms should be established and schools should be left alone as they have many more issues to address, which are more critical than safe driving.

The age of Information Technology has taken a lot of people by surprise. While it has become a way of life for some, others know very little about it and may be unlikely to learn. Eventually we will have a polarized society and this will lead to serious social problems. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

The age of Information Technology has taken a lot of people by surprise
Ielts Essay on Technology and Social Rift

The spread and expansion of information technology has brought a sea change in lifestyle of people from all walks of life. It has seemingly also created a wedge between different groups in society, ones who are well adapted to this new innovation and ones who are still ignorant of this new development. It is sometimes feared that this may well create a wedge between these two groups thus resulting in social problems.

Expanding base of information technology can be observed in every walk of life today. People who have ability to cope up and adapt to this new innovation are the leaders as they can easily perform all the tasks and work without major hassles. Their professional and personal lives are thriving with this switchover. This has encouraged others to fall in line thereby, preventing conflict.

Various organizations also tend to employ people with skills to handle this medium successfully. The qualified workers stand better chance of getting rich dividends and better opportunities. For e.g. all the companies are converting their customer-care and record maintaining sections into electronic mediums, for which it becomes imperative to employ only tech savvy people.

There are sections, who are ignorant to this change, they are either be nearing retirement or living in rural areas, thus lacking interest or resources to grab opportunities. Some people still are more adapted to the traditional work procedures and are averse to the modern methods involving implementation of IT.

Whatever may be the case, I feel that the fears being allayed about social discord is more or less a concept of some pessimist social scientist. Information technology is here to stay and it will slowly spread across and embrace all people, to whichever group they may belong. They will be updated in due time.

Academic achievement at school or university is only true measure of a person’s intelligence. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Academic achievement at school or university is  only true measure of a person’s intelligence. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Academic excellence for intelligence

Today when more and more and people are investing their financial resources and efforts to accumulate higher educational qualifications, a debate simultaneously rages across as to what can be taken as a true parameter to gauge an individual’s capabilities. Some definitely lean for academic feats while others feel natural instincts and experience gained over years has more impact on a person’s intelligence.

In last century there have been more venues established to impart higher education wirth people expressing strong intentions to achieve higher qualifications on grounds of their aspirations of gaining respect as being smarter and intellectual. For them, a good academic record is passport to improve employment opportunities. As per them, there is no parameter to gauge an individual’s capabilities on basis of natural instincts.

Besides personal and professional factors, as each field becomes more and more specialized, certain fields do need better educational feats. To enter in these professions and practice, one must possess minimum standards of education defined as basic specifications of relevant field for e.g. one cannot become a doctor or an engineer without getting minimum relevant graduation.

On the contrary, some sections firmly believe that intelligence in not at all a factor that has to have a stamp of varsities and degrees. It has been observed in past most prominent of the inventors and innovators had not even completed their formal education and their concepts still hold true and educated lobby actually follows patterns pioneered by them. Most prominent examples are Bill gates and Dhirubhai Ambani.

To conclude in my view there is definitely a link between a person’s mental capabilities and academic credentials, but that is definitely limited to only getting an initial boost and rest depends on an individual’s natural learning powers and abilities to negotiate situations.

It is generally accepted that families are not as close as they used to be. Give some reasons why this change has happened and suggest how families could be brought closer together. Include any relevant examples from your experience. You should write at least 250 words.

-->

The times are changing as the families move away from each other and join the quest to make a comfortable living. They are more transforming into the Nuclear families, which has actually led to a decline in the affinity among the relatives and the Family members.

Formerly, the trades of the Families were based on the traditional vocations and specializations, but now that has all changed and with the better educational resources available for everyone, people are getting the education according to their strengths. They go on to take up professions according to the skills they have developed and honed, this means that they have to wander off far away from their homes and families in search of  better opportunities. The tryst keeps them busy with their work and they have lesser and lesser time to socialize with the people at home and with the relatives.

People in order to make a better living, they are more involved in their professions and the work, though most get compensated fairly, this again leaves a vacuum on account of the family and the community life.

There are several suggestions on the horizon from the various social scientists, who advocate a closer family and the community ties for a better and healthy living. One that can be easily suggested is the organizing parties and picnics with the family and friends. This would in their opinion bring about a change in the daily hectic schedule, but also recreate a bonding that can be nourished only through the personal contacts.

This is rather a paradox that in times of stressful living people and families are drifting apart. In my view people should make every effort to really recreate bonds and relationships that can nurture a peaceful and harmonious living.

Crime is a problem all over the world. Some believe that crime prevention will make no difference, others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Crime is a problem all over the world. Some believe that crime prevention will make no difference, others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

A lobby of criminologists believes that unlawful undertakings have escalated even after the introduction of umpteen measures to mitigate these, while others express optimism. The following paragraphs shall discuss both the sides and share a plausible conclusion.

To begin with, a school of thought expresses its firm belief in the saying, “Once a criminal, always a criminal”. As per this section, those engaged in deviant ways cannot survive without doing something notorious and always find a way to bypass the modern security systems created for the safety of the public. Also, there are a plethora of factors like joblessness, class differences and poverty that force many to perform unlawful acts to fulfill their basic needs. Similarly nowadays, shrinking incomes, and increasing demands and desires, is pushing an increasing number of individuals to take laws in their hand for the sake of making more money. Moreover, some attempt deviant acts in front of their peers to flaunt their courage and strength. Thus, as they assert that no measure can dissuade illegal endeavors.

However, some are enthusiastic about the effectiveness of methods formulated to deter instances of law breaking. They suggest that punishment acts as a potent tool that makes even hardened lawbreakers to give a second thought because they fear consequences like heavy fines, imprisonment and being kept away from their families, or being handed over capital punishment. Adding to this, some believe reformation can give them a chance to develop new skills, affording them a chance of earning livelihood safely and preventing their intervention in any kind of criminal endeavors.

Overall, I align with the notion that even though eliminating criminal  undertakings is a distant dream, efforts must continue to alleviate these so that the social environment can be made safer and free of fear.

Tourism is a modern form of colonialism. It distorts local economies, causes environmental damage and ruins the places it exploits. To what extent would you support or reject this idea?

Ielts Essay - Is Tourism Neocolonialism?

Nowadays, tourism is becoming a Pan global phenomena that is spreading to the various corners the world, giving people an oppurtiunity to interact with the civilizations that were considered aliens a little while ago. It is becoming a potent industry that is fueling growth in the nations that are being explored by the tourists.
There is no similarity to be cited between the colonialism and the Tourism, because colonialism was by force and made slaves, whereas tourism is creating an interaction between people and creating bonds. Tourism is turning into a profitable source of funds for the economies. It helps the governments to generate huge revenues, which are channelized to preserve the Monuments and locations in their originality. Tourism also creates awareness and respect among the local populace for their Heritage.
Besides this, enormous potential for new employment opportunities and the growth and development of the infrastructure are generated thus fueling the components of the economies. For e.g. the site that is promoted attract a constant flow of the tourists, which brings along improvements in various basic and infrastructural facilities, right from transportation, Hotels, Health, Communications etc.

However, although there are strong critics to tourism, their perceptions make them purists and forbid intermingling. For e.g. in the orthodox society of the Middle east, feels that this factor is damaging their Society, as when the travelers arrive from west, they bring along their culture and mannerisms, which are unacceptable. There is one more factor that aids the point of contention of the detractors of tourism, as some irresponsible tourists do behave irrational and go around littering and defacing the Monuments.

In conclusion, I think, whatever critics feel, the dynamics of tourism is a commendable source of Inspiration for the economies and the people world over, in commercial as well as the Cultural.

Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Sports today have become a full fledged profession. This has helped the sportsmen to earn astronomical figures as a part of earnings. This phenomenon has also raised a hot debate, as to whether the earnings that are often more than the people from other trades are justified or not.
Today the casual performers have been replaced by the well-trained & well-versed professionals. The players toil hard & train to improve & maintain performance for the next competition & to keep up the tempo. Also, it is always under a constant threat of disabling Injuries during a match or training. The life of the sportsmen’s career is generally too short that spans only over a decade & a half, beyond that the players will have switch professions. In this period, sportspersons have little time to earn for insuring rest of their lives.
Moreover, the players today are the National heroes & Idols for the Billions of their fellow countrymen & definitely rule their hearts. For e.g the cricketers in India have a bigger than life Image and any monetary reward bestowed upon them is always justified by their fans as deserving.
Although some sections of society are contrary to this view & regard it as absolutely unjust to other professionals from other streams. They feel that they too toil hard to perform & produce results, which could be in more important Industry & role for the Society, Economy & country. They consider Sports as a leisure & non-essential activity.
In my opinion, today sport is an independent industry which is not only generating employment directly or indirectly, but also a source of good commerce. It is practical & fair for the players, being an essential component to earn, huge & big, after all they deserve it.
