With the information revolution
proliferating and setting its foot in every walk of life, people have an
unrestricted to various sources of news and inputs i.e. newspapers, magazines,
journals and radio and television transmissions. This has helped us a great
deal to garner and gather knowledge which is first hand and original but there
are some people who have some reported doubts on the genuinity of these
inputs.
The people who raise doubts on the
impartiality and correctness of the news and reports being aired in, presented
and written by the reporters is often marred by individual preferences and
inclinations of individuals reporting in, which often push the reporting
individuals to present news with a deviated and mutilated perspective. This can
have serious consequences as this factor actually contributes to creating wrong
opinions and notions which can often be disastrous.
On other hand, some sections do feel
that such kind of personal preferences of scribes seldom interfere with their
profession and moreover when they present the real aspects of a reported
incident, people listening or reading those reports are independent to judge
the validity of the news being presented by the scribes.
Moving to qualities of an honest reporter,
journalism is very important component of modern society and the people
practicing in this field must always practice with absolute impartiality and
honesty and they must never let their personal objectives come in way of their
professional responsibilities. Reporting and presenting an impartial
view point is their professional responsibility.
