More and more people are buying things on the internet to complete their tasks such as booking, shopping, book tickets. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

The technical advancements have led people to buy things online in order to accomplish their needs. This practice has umpteen benefits, but ramifications too. The following paragraphs shall discuss both the aspects and conclude whether benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

Purchasing articles on the internet afford umpteen pros. One enjoys access to a variety of options on multiple websites and online stores for a single product. They can also compare prices of all the stores or sellers available, and if there is a sale at any store, they can make the most of it without even being physically present. Apart from that, one can buy goods or services like clothes, groceries, and book tickets, to name a few, at any time of the day.

Moreover, e-commerce has proven to be time efficient since one can do other tasks simultaneously while browsing online. To corroborate a survey carried out by the University of California reveals that 80% of consumer goods and services are bought online today. On top of that, most of the sellers online provide free home delivery and return pickup too, to make it more convenient.

However, there is a darker side of this practice as well. It has a huge impact on local shopkeepers, their income has been reduced to almost half. To exemplify, grocers who are totally dependent on daily income, online stores have robbed them of their business, creating unemployment as a result as most are on the brink of closure. Besides this, it has ushered in an era of cyber crime as many subversive elements misuse this advancement for monetary frauds.

In hindsight, the practice of procuring things over the internet, although has certain pitfalls, this exercise has made the lifestyle  extremely convenient. Therefore, pros of this evolution eclipse its cons.

Many governments think that economic progress is their most important goal. Some people, however, think that other types of progress are equally important for a country. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

In contemporary times, when everyone is vying for economic prosperity, a lobby professes it should be the most significant priority for any nation, while some others disagree vehemently and suggest the countries will be better served to not ignore other aspects of growth. In my opinion, while the former is important, the latter cannot be ignored.

Undeniably, there are several benefits for any country to strive to attain affluence; without it the state will be unable to meet the basic needs of its populace, namely food, clothing and shelter. Additionally, without the financial muscle, it is difficult for a country to achieve any meaningful progress with respect to infrastructure, health, defense and a myriad of other sectors. Once the basic needs of the citizens have been met, growth in these areas help in raising the standard of living. Furthermore, prosperity can influence policy change at the global level since impoverished societies run the risk of getting ignored on the world stage, and bear the consequences of unfavorable decisions.

On the other hand, there are others who believe that apart from economic progress, a nation will be better served to not neglect progress in social issues like equality, freedom of expression, communal harmony and social justice, to name a few. Without development in these areas, people may soon get dismayed with the situation and resort to unlawful activities leading to anarchy. Thus, a nation apathetic to social progress will be unable to sustain the economic progress in the long run.

To conclude, economic progress and other sectors of development go hand in hand, and one cannot be neglected while prioritizing the other. Therefore, it will be rational to assert that governments should lay emphasis on all round growth rather than just attaining economic might.

In the contemporary era, a bizarre phenomenon appears to be surfacing that trash is accumulating and people are disposing of waste much more than ever before. This phenomenon stems from several causes, and it is the need of the hour to find ways how the state can help mitigate this malady.

There are a myriad of grounds are fueling the situation of humongous garbage: amid rising population, the consumption by end users is increasing, thereby leading to rising levels of refuse. Moreover, some experts profess that it is also propelled by apathy towards and lack of awareness about environmental conservation, and this is encouraging the younger generation to follow the footsteps of their parents when they see them doing so.

To add fuel to fire, some environmentalists profess that the situation is compounded by the unavailability of public utility facilities to dispose and manage and recycle garbage for the general public, which ultimately forces them at large to get rid of their trash recklessly, causing piling up of wastage in colossal amounts.

However, various lobbies suggest that regimes can take umpteen steps to surmount this modern challenge: some commentators suggest that the state can also set up machines, similar to vending machines, which can exchange garbage with some credits, either monetary or non-monetary, thereby discouraging the citizens to litter the waste in open and keep it for machine to deposit. Additionally, creating awareness about the ramifications of surfeit rubbish for the environment can also go a long way in making people empathetic to the plight of the planet.

To recapitulate, although the situation seems to be spiraling out of control, owing to the imprudent practices deployed by people, it can be alleviated with joint effort of the government and the public at large.

In some countries people of all age groups are engaging in too many sports or over-exercising. Are there more advantages or drawbacks to this development?

People across different age cohorts are undertaking rigorous physical routines namely exercise, sports and so on. This essay shall understand the pros and cons of over-indulging in these activities.

There are several disadvantages for both, young and old, to engage in over indulge in physical endeavors; the most prominent being risk of injury,  not only due to spending too much time but also due to going beyond their physical limits. Since they over-indulge in these activities, their body does not get sufficient time to rest and recuperate leading to chronic issues like back ache and muscle tear. Anecdotal evidence, along with mushrooming of physiotherapy clinics, shows the number of people suffering from these problems has increased tremendously in the past few years.

Additionally, a number of people become obsessed with working out, in search of a perfect body, taking up most of their time and so are unable to concentrate on other walks of life such as job and unable to devote quality time to family or other recreational activities. This often results in stress and anxiety impacting their quality of life.

Nevertheless, there are certain advantages of this propensity, provided it is undertaken under trained eyes of professional fitness instructors and coaches respectively. It is especially beneficial for professional wrestlers, sportspersons and movie actors. An example of this is the physical transformation of Farhan Akhtar from a lean body type to bulked-up body achieved in a short time, to reprise the biopic role of Milkha Singh - an Indian athlete - in the Hindi movie “Bhag Milkha Bhag”.

To conclude, the benefits of over-engaging in activities like sports and workouts is limited to a select few individuals while it is detrimental to a large majority of the population.

Some people think that climate change could have a negative effect on business. Others think that climate change could create more business opportunities. Discuss both views and your own opinions.

Some people think that climate change could have a negative effect on business. Others think that climate change could create more business opportunities. Discuss both views and your own opinions.

Weather patterns  play a vital role in running a business. A school of thought considers the current shift in these as a good omen for expanding business, while some voice their dissent  and fear that this may leave an adverse impact on the growth.

To start with, many economists believe that the imbalanced climate would bring prosperity in the trade as they can produce more products such as for  creating artificial atmospheric conditions, irrespective of prevailing weather. There is no doubt that with these sudden changes, requirements of individuals will be changed, and to fulfill the demands of the latter, many companies will  grab the opportunities and provide their goods at premium prices. Thus, businesses could generate more revenue, and establish new projects for  accomplishing their desired targets.

Nevertheless, those skeptical of the former opinion predict that the shift in climatic patterns  is bound to create a chaotic situation for commercial activity. To illustrate, the farmers who are completely dependent upon natural resources: sunlight, heat, mist, rain and air, could become financially deprived and helpless since they will not receive the essential resources as per the demands of crops; and thus will have to resort to man-made arrangements for survival of their crops, causing a hike in their cost of operations, making agriculture infeasible.  Similarly, those who produce seasonal goods such as clothes and other gears, may face failure in meeting their goals, owing to declining demand for their products in different climatic scenarios.

Overall,  even though some might feel that changing weather could fetch a multitude of benefits for commercial activities, the ramifications are likely to be far more serious. Therefore, it can be safely said that the climatic shift for the worse is going  to hamper business potential in a myriad of ways.

In some countries, at secondary at high school, there may be two or three streams of studies, academic or vocational. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this to the students and the society of putting students at the two streams at the age of 15?

Nowadays, educational systems in many countries entail segregation of high school learners into two or three streams. This practice has been hailed as beneficial by many, but it will be too naive to overlook its pitfalls.

Such an arrangement is laden with a prominent benefit. It  allows pupils to invest  their energy into learning a limited number of subjects- where they have their inclination, which can save their invaluable time and efforts that they otherwise are forced to allocate to other subjects having little relevance for their future academic and professional pursuits. This can aid them tremendously in gaining proficiency in their area of study, elevating their confidence and self-esteem, and preparing them for the occupation they may likely choose as professions.

Furthermore, society will be the direct beneficiary of this since the learners graduating in specific streams from formal tuition will be in a better position to chart their future path prudently and quickly, and enroll themselves into higher courses that would lead them into gaining various trade specific skills, making available specialists in disparate professions crucial to development of country.

However, this system is not devoid of shortcomings. It  clearly defeats the primary objective of education, creating a society of equals, and instead it predisposes future generations to a permanent wedge between those who grow up to be too robotic - those studying subjects connected to science, and those who turn into impractical adults, who choose arts, or money-minded, those choosing commerce; thus, it might result creating a society of incompatibles.

Overall, despite such an approach carrying both pros and cons, it seems to be the answer to the future requirements of society, which will be in the need of skills in diverse areas, and streaming would speed up the generation of such expertise.

How important is a patient's mental attitude towards his or her treatment, in determining the effectiveness of the treatment.

The concurrent times have witnessed the advent of a plethora of medicinal systems that offer respite from disease and ailments. However, many perceive that all these treatments fail to yield desirable outcomes unless the one subscribing to any of these systems adopts an optimistic approach.

The  mental preparedness of the ailing individual has a significant role in their obtaining relief from their sufferings. If  one does not have faith on the kind of therapy they are going to avail, they will hardly observe any change in their condition since they are unlikely to follow such methods appropriately, which will not bring around any improvements in their condition. Similarly, it is the positive mindset that persuades the sick to confide the details of their symptoms to the medical practitioners that allows accurate diagnosis of the disease and the method to be followed to treat it.

Furthermore, it is essential to be enthusiastic and hopeful to obtain  mitigation from a medical condition as only this will encourage patients to follow the prescribed medical intervention religiously - be it medicines, surgeries, or a therapy - in the prescribed format and duration. Not only this, the convalescent individuals will stay motivated for follow-up visits until and unless the doctors ask them to stop. Additionally,  it is the conviction which leads people into embracing changes in lifestyle and food habits as recommended by physicians. Various studies corroborate this notion, it has been revealed that only those who are confident of experiencing a freedom from pain and sufferings afforded by illness dedicatedly cooperate with their doctors, and receive fast relief.

Therefore, I believe it is the approach of the sick people that decides the fate and the effectiveness of the intervention they are receiving. It is their attitude that helps derive favorable outcomes.

It is noticeable that fast food consumption has increased compared to the previous century . To what extent do you agree or disagree ? give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your experience .

It is commonly observed that fast food has become a fad among many, but there are some who refuse to believe this. I will analyze this matter  in the following paragraphs.

To start with, those supporting this notion feel that the current generation is better equipped in terms of technique of preparation of junk food and also the business models required to sell the produce. This aspect has attracted consumers in a need of quick solutions when it comes to nourishment. Quite contrary to the traditional eateries that prepared food right from the raw material, the fast food joints of today are fetching semi-cooked ingredients, speeding up the preparation process, thereby selling more and more.

On top of that, these eatables are relatively cheaper and quite easy to carry than whole course meals and yet douse the hunger effectively. This aspect has lured many who are akin to eating while traveling to their work or other places. For instance, hamburgers and hotdogs are considered to be quite convenient options by a majority who do not have time to sit at home or a restaurant to have meals.

Furthermore, consuming these edible goods is in vogue and considered to be a social status, especially by those in middle and  lower income groups. Today, most youngsters prefer to have these over the traditional options since it is considered to be a sign of modern  urban life. Similarly, the addictive ingredients and taste enhancers are making people override their need for healthy nutrition and lust for this option.

To cap it all, considering all the aforementioned views,I could not agree more on the issue that the inclination to consume fast food has witnessed a dramatic increment in recent  times.
