Ielts Essay Adviser - Young or Old

When it comes to seeking advice, many seek it from a qualified individual. But, should the advisor be an elderly or a youth is a matter worth deep pondering. While some find the suggestions from the former more relevant, others vouch for the latter.

Seeking counsel of the old has been a traditional practice through which the knowledge of various aspects connected to the social and family life, and sometimes even crucial inputs about professional matters have been passed down from one generation to the other. It is believed that the elderly garner an extensive exposure about various walks of life, by virtue of maneuvering through the thin and thick.  They carry a pragmatic vision can foresee the events before they actually happen.

This can be exemplified by the advisory offered by the elders of family to their young family members about upbringing up their offspring; managing money-matters; facing exigencies; resolving family disputes; choosing careers to pursue. Even today, the young  can be seen seeking guidance from their elders whenever a situation  arises.

Nevertheless, a school of thought rallies behind the young advisors today. This view is based on the changed environment that is driven by technology and globalization.  The young are apt in the knowledge of use of modern methods and equipment, and they also carry an exhaustive experience of working in conjunction with people across the planet. Thus, they are equipped with appropriate knowhow about handling the things in the contemporary times.

To conclude, I feel controversies apart, advising is as a practice is more dependent on rational approach rather than the age. It is not necessary that suggestions of older people would always be correct and that sourced from the young would be erroneous. Thus, I fail to subscribe to the statement
