Ielts Essay - Media and Crime
The content being aired on television and shown in movies has always been under a critical scanner of various law enforcement agencies and critics across the world. A deep argument rages over whether there is any close link between rising crime and violence being shown on the audio-visual media.

Content being aired on audio-visual media, be it cinema or television soaps, surely has an impact on the viewers. Sadistic scenes on media have become increasingly graphic and often inspire the most susceptible sections of the society, especially the juveniles and the ones with criminal tendencies, as they try to emulate the sensationalized hateful scenes, they are served on media. Regulating the content would surely bring around a fall in graph of crime, and improve the situation to some extent.

Moreover, the scenes and news of violence seems to trigger innate animal instincts in the people, and watching visuals, that portray use of brute force or depiction of savagery, does little to help to keep those instincts dormant. People fear that such scenes and plots inspire viewers to react the way in which the characters, being featured, behave. The fiction seems to turn into a reality for such people. Curtailing such content would surely help in such a case.

However, as various surveys prove, there is not a slightest of connections between the rising violence and sadistic content being shown on media. Whatever is directed and produced for cinema and television is inspired by real life incidents, and aims to inform people of the evils. This content, in no way, tends to incite violence and crime.

To sum up, I personally feel, controversies aside, graphic depiction of violence on entertainment media has not connection with crime and thus there is no need to control such content.

Ielts Essay - Multiculturalism
The modern world order generally entails a population that hails from diverse ethnicities, cultures, regions and corners of the world. This can be easily experienced in various cities and countries, today. This has, however, somehow led to a rigorous argument as some feel that multicultural societies are laden with significant benefits, while other feel that such a social setting is a recipe to disaster.

Housing people from diverse cultures, who also use diverse languages, sometimes, can prove to be counterproductive. Humans, whatever, they may do, cannot brush aside their tribal attitudes and cultural and languages bias, which can surface at any point of time. This can lead to social discord, and some case often end up in civil strife thus making situations turn ugly.

But, nonetheless, countries having sizeable representation from diverse cultures often support a tolerant and receptive outlook, and earn a reputation for being a progressive society. People residing in such vibrant settings often obtain multiple benefits, since they are guaranteed safe social surrounding that sans racial slur, and that promotes acceptability. The governments of such countries make it a point to extend and render support to every section of society. Such communities have known to maintain and sustain a harmonious and peaceful lifestyle for a long time.

Moroever, it is believed that each culture and language carry its distinct content of wisdom and knowledge accumulated by the ancestors of natives, of those cultures and users of tongue, which helps in creating a synergy of efforts, knowledge and wisdom. This integrated knowledge can be harnessed productively and bring in rich returns for the society.

To sum up, I personally feel; in the age of globalized society, living in a multicultural  society would be highly beneficial even though there are some challenges such surroundings pose; however, these can be surmounted by adopting prudent approach by both the state and citizens.

Ielts Essay - Disruptive or Constructive
Schooling is all about mental and physical development of children, in which sports, is believed to have an essential role even though some suggest that this extracurricular activity can affect the pupils negatively since it teaches about competition and not cooperation, unlike originally envisaged. Hence they favor shelving this activity from the school syllabus.

Practicing sports can adversely impact the minds of young learners as they, while playing different games tend to become aggressive and impulsive. Sports promote an attitude to win, and this where the problem lies; the tender minds are trained to win even if it results in bitter rivalry between classmates. This promotes an atmosphere that may not be considered to be conducive for harmonious living.

However, the fears being allayed about disruptive effect of sports can be out rightly rejected. ‘Sports’ as an activity plays a pivotal role in development of overall personality of the students. As various studies suggest, playing games and participation in a sporting activity nurtures cognitive abilities required for appreciating and judging situations, and finding ways to solve problems. Such activities also teach children to be more patient and learn to accept victories and defeats decently, and thus prevent violent behavior.

Apart from that sports, especially games that entail playing in a team, is all about for team work; strategic planning in groups; and creating coordination with other team members. On top of that, skills picked up while practicing sports can be really helpful for the children. They learn about coexistence and living in harmony with people with contrasting views by picking up critical hints about working together in teams.

To conclude, I feel that children should be encouraged to play and participate in sports as this activity is laden with multiple benefits.

Ielts Essay - Career and Lifelong Education
There is a great debate over the relevance of new concept entailing people picking up multiple careers, and pursuing education throughout their lives. There have been several conflicting surveys and opinions on this issue that have their own figure and arguments to quote in support of their specific findings.

Multiple jobs and lifelong education has no relevance. When people are finding it hard to cope-up with the demands and expectations of the jobs they are doing, thinking of gaining multiple qualifications and jobs seems to be a gimmick.

However, picking up multiple careers seems to be a very practical option for the people seeking to raise their incomes to meet rising expenditure. In the recent times, as consumerism sets its foot more firmly, people have started indulging in buying and accessing comforts and leisure. The inclination to possess modern comforts has actually contributed to severely restricting the disposable incomes. To boost the financial resources, people have started exploring idea of taking up additional jobs, and to be able to get work in multiple locations, people have started updating the academic credentials. This trend is expected to continue for a long in future.

Another factor that seems to be leading to people taking up education to get an additional job is connected to fears of insecurity. As the work culture has become competitive, competition quite often leads to bitter rivalry between colleagues with some losing jobs as a result of it. Obtaining education and eventually another job means creating an alternative to weed out any uncertainty that may result due to loss of one of the employments.

Henceforth, the idea of multiple careers and lifelong education are not fair ground attractions that would fade away once they loses their novelty, but are here to stay.

Ielts Essay - Government Dealing with Social Security
Social welfare and delivery of governance has always been a top priority of any democratic set-up, but for some, embracing all areas concerned with welfare of the inhabitants is a daunting task. They feel, creating a bifurcation in the jobs would help, like the state handling defense, infrastructure and utilities, and inviting private participation in other areas.

Governments should be primarily concerned with the issues of greater relevance, but that does not accrue financial returns, like: ensuring external and internal security; developing infrastructure, rendering utilities, etc. Handing over rest of the responsibilities to the private players and community would help the states to streamline their establishments and workforce, and focus on more critical areas.

Such an action would also help in curtailing pilferage and misuse of funds, collected from taxpayers. Since private organizations are guided by an urge to earn profits, it would help ensure an optimal use of funds, and consistent introduction of innovation at various levels of functions in these areas.

However, government is an elected body, which has been given a mandate by the people, who also pay taxes, to take care of various aspects of social life, including welfare. Eliminating or transferring some of the responsibilities to private sector might result in economically weaker sections being further arginalized. It would hard for the state to address basic issues at the grass root level, as the poor may be stripped of the benefits being extended to them. This would surely have dire consequences in long run, and this might affect the overall development of a country.

Overall, I personally feel that idea of handing over essential services to the private sectors is full of flaws, and could pose seirous challenges for the destitute sections. Thus, such a policy must be implemented with caution.
