Some think that young people should be free to choose any career they like, while others say that they should think more realistically about their future. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Selecting a profession has always been a task of paramount importance for the youth. It is often argued that they should be allowed freedom to choose an occupation according to their preference, while others think that they should be more practical and ponder about their future profoundly.

The propensity of young pursuing liberty when it comes to choosing their occupations stems from the fact that they are vulnerable to a broad range of knowledge of the things they are passionate about, making them ardent followers of the belief that seeking engagement into an endeavor that appeals to them can fetch them laurels, in the form of fame and fortune.

Also, they can be more productive if they are allowed to choose their jobs themselves and they can contribute more effort in gaining proficiency in the field they chose, bolstering their work efficiency. Conversely, as  many suggest that  if they are pushed into something that fails to address their aspirations, they may lead an unsatisfied life confined to an unwanted domain.

However, some argue that ‘All that glitters is not gold’: youngsters should judiciously weigh their future options; they might land up in jobs that are poorly compensated,  or they might be wedded to something that predisposes them to stagnation, making it impossible to make amendments later. They must not fall prey to the temptation of short-term prominently highlighted by employers. Hence, they must seriously do some brain storming and pondering about the future prospects before engaging professionally.

Overall, even though  youngsters can be more productive and happy if they choose their careers themselves, they should prioritize the gains they are likely to derive in the long run from the job they take up. Striking a balance between natural inclination and long-term prospects must be struck.

In some countries, it is illegal for employers to reject the people are applying for job because of his/her age.  Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Being denied a job based on age is a quite ubiquitous practice worldover. However, some governments have come down strongly to discourage this arrangement and have laid strong fundamental rules, ensuring denying an application based on age is deemed unlawful. This although has been extolled as favorable, the set-backs it can cause to businesses cannot be overlooked.

It is becoming exceedingly evident that organizations have been coaxed into espousing a liberal approach related to hiring people: hire personnel meeting the selection parameters based on the required skill sets, regardless of their age. This policy has opened up a big horizon for those in the post retirement age, or freshers, wanting to offer something to the world, based on their talent. This major change in the job world has led to more satisfied employees, earning them financial security. Similarly, this is helping individuals circumvent mental afflictions, and inclination to engage in crime.

Having said that, a school of thought lambasts this policy and asserts that this can impact organizations adversely. It can lead to selection of candidates incongruous with the prerequisites of destined work, by virtue of lack of industrial experience, physical abilities, and so on, which could directly impact the performance of the organization. Many times, the consistently incrementing demand of staying up-to-date with technology has a potential to hinder the performance of aspirants short listed through this policy, impacting productivity, and consequently, the bottomline, proving to be a great disincentive to continue with their operations. Moreover, this could deprive institutions from selecting appropriately qualified and able-bodied aspirants, harming their interests in the long run.

Overall, dispute aside, despite fetching certain benefits for the affected individuals, this edict can undermine the efficiency of employers and wrest the authority from them to hire adequately suitable workers. I feel the state, instead of enacting such statutes,  should opt for more prudent policies.

In recent years, there has been a rise in the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports

The problem of consumption of medicines to bolster outcomes in sports by sports personnel is not new, but in contemporary times, their application has incremented manifold. However this is severely jeopardizing mental and physical wellbeing of users making it imperative to discover appropriate panacea.

The consumption of substances to perform better than the rival players has the potential to threaten physical and mental wellness in the long run. Where on the one hand, the ingredients of such illegal medications, such as anabolic steroids, can interfere with the flow of blood to the different parts of the body in order to enhance the muscle mass and the stamina, and expose those consuming such material disorders can cause fatal disorders, such as liver and kidney failure, and cardiac complications. For instance, most bodybuilders consuming protein supplements, and mass builders do not survive to live beyond forty or forty-five years because of multiple organ failure.

Similarly, long term usage can also result in unfavorable impact on the mental health as the players using these can become completely dependent on such interventions, and face issues like depression and mood swings if  they try to abandon their application since such formulations are addictive and turn the nervous system of the consumers weak.

Curtailing this practice is possible provided governments come down heavily and take strict steps like banning the players using such drugs or life, and also taking away all their privileges. Similarly, the sports practitioners must be comprehensively counseled and rehabilitated so that they can be discouraged from engaging in such illegal practices.

Overall, sports professionals using tools to help them excel in their sporting disciplines can cost them dearly, in terms of their health. Therefore, the state should adopt zero- tolerance policy for such behaviour and impose penalties.

In some countries, people are allowed to keep arms, while some people feel that private citizens should not be allowed to keep arms and ammunition as it can threaten the society and pose serious problems for public safety. Discuss and give your opinion

There is a great public discourse hovering around the sensitive issue of private citizens possessing guns. While some commentators propound that it is the need of the hour, and such equipment can afford appropriate safeguard against undesirable situations, others dissent with this proposal.

To embark upon discussion, a lobby favors affording(give/extend/allow) permission for keeping guns for the sake of safety as they consider such devices as a permanent solution against unlawful elements like robbers, who not only steal their goods but also ensure deleterious effects on their lives. Moreover, those residing in areas such as city outskirts, suburbs, and those deprived of jurisdictions need to rely on self defense, making it imperative to have a hold on appropriate safeguard.

Additionally, those dwelling within close vicinity of wild areas must acquire certain devices to deal with wild creatures, and this kind of protective equipment can help them ensure that they remain away from trouble. In a pilot study carried out by Hindustan Times, it was revealed that nearly 47% of those having agricultural land neighboring the forest regions, aided themselves with armament to help shelter their crops  from foraging deer and elephants.

Nevertheless, as per critics, this kind of arrangement would turn out to be a fiasco, as if children get their hands on these devices, they might misuse these, and jeopardize their lives; hence firearms should not be made a lawful possession. Similarly, those having anger issues might consider using arms as the first resort instead of the last, consequently resulting in exposing others to serious harm.

In hindsight, I opine that this practice will lead to chaos in the society as many might become vulnerable to the unwarranted outcomes if weapons are used unintentionally or in a fit of rage.

In today’s digital age, anyone with a smartphone can capture and share photographs. This accessibility to photography diminishes the value of professional photographers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays,  many feel that ease of access to smartphones with the updated camera systems has made photography effortless, leading to decline in the relevance of professionals engaged in photography. Whether, or not this notion holds substance, is a matter worth delving deeper into.

It is  generally assumed that photographers are best in their business, nonetheless the advent of state-of-the-art cameras in smartphones have dented their influence remarkably. Most hi-tech smartphones offer various modes of photography with their software: portrait, video, cinematic , panorama, and so on, turning photography into an uncomplicated task that can be also negotiated by novices too. The resources available on the internet also have become a huge asset for the ones new to taking pictures, empowering those willing to learn the art, thereby forgoing the need to hire specialist services in an event of public gathering.

Nevertheless, many still hold a different view and argue that just taking photos and sharing them with a smartphone is not everything. Photography is an art that a professional performs with finesse and produces the outstanding results that an image or a video can have. If it were just about clicking pictures from a smartphone, why would major world events hire professionals to do the job, whether it is olympics, soccer, and theater, to name a few, everyone uses specialists to click images; they are adroit in determining the correct moments, light exposure, distance and even close-up and angles, making them stand apart from the rest, and letting their significance endure despite technological developments.

Overall, undeniably, modern technology has  challenged the supremacy of those with specialist acumen in clicking pictures; however, I partially concur with view this since the competence of these individuals is unmatched and still enjoy domination when it comes to capturing essential moments.

City Planners' new designs include setting up schools, markets, and commercial places (offices) in different areas of the city. Do you think it will help the city dwellers?

City Planners' new designs include setting up schools

The contemporary urban designs favour creating separate locations and corners for educational, commercial and shopping activities. This is perceived to be laden with certain benefits, but this also has a potential to make the life of urbanites harder.

To start with, it is commonly assumed that such an urban setting would offer a much required relief to the residents, in the form of freedom from traffic congestion that haunts the residential areas. Rising density of vehicular traffic in various parts of cities, especially where people dwell, has made things difficult for the locals, owing to immense noise pollution and safety concerns. Implementing such bifurcation would make the surroundings peaceful and safe for all, particularly for women, elderly and children.

Similarly, the space created by shifting out of other than housing units, to other locations could be used to build parks and green buffers, affording a healthy environment and a chance to engage in leisure activities to the dwellers of the area as has been observed in cities like Chandigarh where this policy has been applied partially.

Nevertheless, the presupposition lacks substance and is far from reality. Such a move will do little good, but make life miserable for urban dwellers, who will have to struggle humongously to fulfill their obligations and needs since they will have to travel over long distances to work, shop, gain education or drop their children to the schools, adding to their woes as they are already overwhelmingly engaged with their work. This additional travelling will also need them to spend extra time traversing through the cities.

In hindsight, despite sounding tempting, this proposal is plagued with several predictable and unforeseen complications that could make city life more chaotic than turning it into an epitome of convenience; thus, it is best avoided.

In Marriages today, some argue that it is the responsibility of both spouses to earn a living for the family. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In contemporary times, one can argue the need of the hour is that both the partners should take up employment to supplement family income. Their opinion is based on strong reasons, but some defy this view and profess that it is not a requirement and that the man should be the bread earner only.

It  is becoming a necessity for both the spouses to earn and put money on the table. This is backed by humongous data that indicates the spiraling cost of living that comprises modern lifestyle, tution fees for the schools and universities, grocery cost, real estate prices and rentals, and so on, mandate that it is better to have two earning hands in a family rather than one, for it can afford a chance to not only meet the current expenditure but also create a buffer for exigencies that may arise unannounced, helping sink in a feeling of financial independence.

However, a few have a different notion stating that managing a nuclear family with good values is an important process of upbringing families, and to attain that goal it is important that the female partner stays at home to take care of all the needs, and male spouse dons the role of the bread earner. A recent survey done by Aman Nagpal, a Professor of Human Behavior at Toronto University indicates that a majority of families where only men of the house are earning livelihood, admit being happier than others.

Overall, even though both spouses being in employment can be an added luxury that the family can enjoy, it should not be a necessity. Affairs can be managed better with prudent planning and budgeting, and female married partners looking and managing the home should be the top priority, while men should work.

Impoverishment plagues humanity even in the modern world, and despite adopting several measures, this social malady has endured. This can be attributed to a slew of causes, making it imperative to discover panacea to get rid of this challenge.

Destitution is prominently conspicuous in developing nations; they have perennially  struggled owing to paucity of fundamental resources, conspicuously visible when it comes to provisioning elementary amenities: shelter, food, clothing and so on. Similarly, education plays an important role in human upheaval and lack of it in economically weaker nations has been a major obstacle in upliftment of the deprived, leaving them fending for themselves without sufficient resources to support themselves because of poorly paid jobs. Moreover, there is an unequal distribution of wealth between communities, and corruption adds to the woes as the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer.

As far as mitigating this miserable condition is concerned, international communities can play a pivotal role in this endeavor by helping poverty-stricken countries financially: extending monetary aid and also bolstering programs with expertise and resources to help engender and augment infrastructure, so as to create employment venues. Judiciously planned undertakings should be initiated for the alleviaition of the poor: establishing programs to afford free education - awarding scholarships for the deserving;  affording essential facilities, free of cost healthcare, and so on. Likewise, strict policies should be enacted to quell corruption to ensure even dispersion of among disparate popualtion segments.

Overall, undeniably, penury is a serious issue, nonetheless if the global efforts afford relief and support in the form of financial aid and benefits, and the local governments act transparently and aim at extending facilities to all, this phenomenon can be minimized if not eliminated.

Some people think that robots are very important to human’s future development. Others think that they are dangerous and have negative effects on society. Discuss both opinions and give your personal view.

Some people think that robots are very important to human’s future development. Others think that they are dangerous and have negative effects on society. Discuss both opinions and give your personal view.

The rising age of technology has had an impact on human society with people being forced to accept robots as the source to their development. Although it is proposed that this evolution would favorably impact mankind, many are wary and suggest cautious approach, for these devices could undermine human abilities.

The contemporary eon is dominated by self-propelled quasi-intelligent gadgets controlling human life. This phenomenon has ushered in an era of convenience, making life much easier; these devices are gradually replacing human drudgery and preventing people from bearing the stress of conducting repetitive onerous tasks such ensuring security of places, maintaining accounts and communicating flawlessly with clients through AI-supported emails and other mediums, thereby reducing human intervention.

Similarly, undeniably, precision and time-saving are other benefits afforded by these state-of-the-art apparatus. It is common to see precision surgeries increasingly being performed with the help of robotics and precise alignments of machines being ensured. Above all, the assembly lines consistently work round the clock tirelessly, without needing break unlike personnel. Furthermore, down the line, as these machines will supersede drivers from their seats, traveling on roads will guarantee a safer ride for travelers.

However, the pessimistic view points out catastrophic outcomes. The dependence of robots in day-to-day life could lead to serious privacy and data concerns. Additionally, as these modern machines seep into everyday life, there is likely to be a spike in joblessness, especially in the semi-skilled and unskilled strata, incrementing burden on regimes to afford appropriate survival mechanisms to the affected sections.

Overall,  it can be said that the majority of challenges that the human race will face after surrendering everything to robotics would lead to colossal destruction, it is not the development mankind would be looking for; that could potentially do more harm than good.

Nowadays there are a large number of coffee shops and fast-food vendors on high streets and in town centers

Concurrent times are witnessing mushrooming of coffee and junk food outlets in primary shopping districts of every city world over. This can be attributed to several causes and is impacting society in multiple ways.

Shopping has turned into a leisure time for most urbanites, spending a majority of their freetime exploring shops in town centers, and during that time, they are in a dire need to grab some quick snack, or meals to overcome the fatigue caused by their efforts. This has been duly appreciated by fast-food producers, and to turn this opportunity into commercial possibilities of reaping rich monetary dividends, they have started establishing their outlets in such locations. Also, the forays into central shopping areas affords them a wider public visibility, often turning them into household names. Numerous popular global brands like KFC and Dominos gained fame by opening their shops in the shopping districts in cities like New York.

Such food joints are providing much required nourishment to the exhausted shoppers and render them freedom from cooking meals once they return back home from their shopping endeavor since they can now enjoy meals without having to wait long unlike in a restaurant, or having to pay through their nose.

On the contrary, this fast emerging fad is jeopardizing the health of the populace, especially the young generations, as a majority end up consuming a calorie laden diet that unfavorably impacts their mental and physical well being and making them vulnerable to several lifestyle ailments such as diabetes and cardiac complications.

Overall, the growing demands for affordable nourishment of avid shoppers is driving this trend, and in a way, such evolution is proving to be beneficial even though one must be careful as surfeit of fast food can hamper health

We should introduce laws to make businesses and state services employ equal numbers of male and female workers in every department or area of the company

The current paradigm is overwhelmingly influenced by the thought of attaining gender equality in society. This has sparked a profound debate about whether it will be conducive to create a legal framework that entails equal participation of both sexes in the professional environment. The views expressed and the attitudes elucidated are quite ambivalent on this issue.

To start with, the proposal of installing a numerical cap of 50% on employment of both men and women is founded on the assumption that this would allow the latter a level playing field. In the world, that is dominated by the former sex, females are generally disregarded and dismissed as being incapable of undertaking several professional endeavors, which is unfortunately a missed placed notion. Having a legal statute  would empower the weaker sex and allow them to gain employment in the occupation they have a penchant for without facing any hurdles.

Having said that, the former postulation sans substance and is likely to prove to be a recipe for disaster. Even if such an arrangement may not ferment jealousy and resentment in the workforce, there is a great likelihood of productivity deteriorating. One fact that is hard to circumvent is that the selection of personnel is done on the basis of their qualifications and capabilities rather than their sex-there are laws that prohibit gender-based discrimination at workplace. However, if such a ceiling were implemented, it would mandate employing even those job seekers who do not meet the criteria perfectly, making organisations vulnerable to losses and setbacks.

Overall,  despite certain assumed benefits of implementing this proposal, I strongly feel that it is unlikely to yield any favourable outcomes; thus I fail to subscribe to such a law since it will do more harm than good.

We are becoming increasingly dependent on computers. They are used in business, crime detection and even to fly planes. What things will they be used for in future? Is this dependence on computers a good thing or should we be more suspicious of their benefits?

We are becoming increasingly dependent on computers. They are used in business, crime detection and even to fly planes. What things will they be used for in future? Is this dependence on computers a good thing or should we be more suspicious of their benefits?

In the modern era, computers are becoming ubiquitous, they are serving humans in various realms and offering several benefits; however,  some think that caution must be exercised in the case of this innovation. The following paragraphs will delve deeper into the issue.

A general belief has endured that artificial intelligence will help the people in numerous ways and can afford unprecedented speed and economy. It is believed that the future growth will be dependent upon how quick jobs in manufacturing or service sector can be performed. These machines are capable of working tirelessly without needing breaks and can ensure optimal productivity in all sectors. These technologies are capable of working without needing extra overheads.

Moreover, precision is something which cannot be ignored while using these machines. The future will depend upon how precisely and effectively the work is delivered. For example, washing clothes in a washing machine or heating food in an oven will become an onerous task for overwhelmingly busy humans, but as automated machines will help us to perform these tasks flawlessly.

Nevertheless, the skeptics think that over-dependence on these devices can create economic problems like an increase in unemployment since these machines are  likely to replace the workforce. Furthermore, people will become more lethargic and prone to sedentary lifestyles; most have already stopped investing their physical efforts and are completely reliant on the machines. Similarly, society faces great challenges since AI devices are vulnerable to hacking that raises the probability of these being used against humans. Additionally, since these new innovations are driven by external power, this could make society susceptible to crisis and disasters in case their machines become unavailable due to some reason.

Overall, one can hardly deny the hindrances these computer gadgets are going to erect, the fears are inappropriate since progress cannot be halted on such pretext.

Nowadays, companies are trying to increase the sales of their products in various ways. What are the different methods that they use? Which one is the most effective?

Modern industries are profoundly concerned about raising their sales, and they attempt to figure out various alternatives to multiply these numbers. Thus, I will be discussing the different approaches being followed by organizations and the most feasible  amongst them.

Myriads of strategies are adopted by the companies: the most prominently used these days is advertisement. This is not only done offline - through printed media and hoardings - but has also captured online platforms such as social media. These days manufacturers are producing goods as per the demands of the consumers to enjoy an upper hand in the market supply.

Similarly,  to win over the competition, an ever-rising number of companies are tempted to invest humongous amounts in packaging – whether it is primary, or secondary - since  nowadays, packaging plays a major role in bolstering the sale of the product. It has been observed that it is a human tendency to become fascinated by something that appeals to the eye, and packing does wonders many times.

Out of the slew of various strategies being deployed to lure consumers, adverts have emerged as the most potent policy. This is underpinned by a survey conducted at the international level; it clearly shows that publicity is the most effective way to gain lead over the competition. There is a psychological reason behind this. It has been seen that people get more attracted to the products which they see more frequently on social media or other mediums. As a result, they end up buying them whenever they go shopping. Thus, increasing the product turnover.

Overall, almost all businesses are highly focused on the consumer needs, and therefore, making changes in their marketing tools accordingly - to remain in the competition. Also, investing huge amounts in promotional policies, R&D etc. helps sales grow.

Nowadays there is an increasing trend of big shopping centers opening up while small shops are closing down. What are the advantages or disadvantages of big shopping centers versus small local shops?

Nowadays there is an increasing trend of big shopping centers opening up while small shops are closing down. What are the advantages or disadvantages of big shopping centers versus small local shops?

Big shopping centers have been taking over the market and this is causing small retail outlets to shut their business. In my opinion, super markets are a profit for the customers and the owners as compared to small shops. In this essay, I shall highlight potential reasons for my stance.

Shopping centers have been an elevation of small shops; these are more convenient as they offer a wide variety of merchandise under one roof, like groceries, clothes, utensils and even electronics. The products sold guarantee standardized quality and warranty. This saves people from the humongous investment of time and effort they have to put running from pillar to post to get all the necessities, offering unprecedented convenience. Moreover, these places can easily accommodate a huge number of individuals without any problems. Besides this, visitors are also afforded safety and parking space for vehicles.

However, there are certain drawbacks one can hardly ignore. Despite offering comforts, large format stores  have also resulted in people overspending: most of these stores tend to lure shoppers with offers and discounts, catapulting the people into buying spree, making them overspend; eventually landing them in deep financial troubles, and, of course,  social wastage. Apart from that, gone are the days when one could buy small quantities without planning a big shopping trip by just walking to a neighborhood store and buying the required goods. Besides this, obtaining credit is no longer a luxury that small format stores offered effortlessly as buyers enjoyed a personal rapport with shopkeepers and always had  an option of  paying later, as per their convenience, at their disposal. This aspect has hit the middle and lower income groups badly.

Similarly, small local stores, although have been a long tradition, earlier when supermarkets did not exist, these were the only way of acquiring goods. Overtime, they were of little benefit to the buyers because of a limited range of items available and also brought close to no profit for the owners, resulting in shutting down the shops. Besides, having not so much space to fit in people also caused a lot of chaos and stress that eventually fled people away. These stores offered no discounts or deals to attract customers, while the quality of goods was not satisfactory as well.

On the whole, despite some failings, big stores have been successful in turning the shopping experience into an enriching rendezvous.  Now one can enjoy unparalleled comfort while shopping and at the  same time be guaranteed of the quality of products.

In some countries, people prefer to rent a house for accommodation, while in other countries people prefer to buy their own house. Does renting a house have more advantages or disadvantages than buying a house

In some countries, people prefer to rent a house for accommodation, while in other countries people prefer to buy their own house. Does renting a house have more advantages or disadvantages than buying a house

Over the last few decades, ownership of real estate has been perceived as a critical milestone to be achieved. This approach has changed recently due to a spike in the real estate development especially created for rental purposes. This has brought forward multiple advantages to renting a house under the current circumstances. I believe this notion requires a deeper analysis.

In recent times, there has been a dramatic change in the approach towards renting. A certain section of the demographic advocates that the financial freedom renting brings to every individual is the primary reason for considering this option. The pandemic has brought about a radical change to the flexibility in work offered by employers and the younger generation has already leveraged this by using short term rentals to live and work from several scenic locations across the year which would not be possible otherwise. The current generation looks to leverage the money saved which can be invested in alternate financial tools which provide a higher rate of return.

At the same time, with renting, each tenant is at the mercy of the landlord and his plans for the property being leased. A change to this plan could come as a surprise and in extreme cases eviction as well. In addition, renting does not provide long term financial stability and requires a plan to accommodate future increases in rental and maintenance costs.

Overall, I strongly believe that there are advantages galore to renting a house compared to owning one. I am also convinced that this trend will see a higher adoption due to the pandemic, especially as the younger generation would not let anything tie them down to a particular city or location

Nowadays many people are trying to earn more and more to get rich. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being rich?

Nowadays many people are trying to earn more and more to get rich. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being rich?

Although being wealthy can indeed afford a myriad of benefits, there are also some pitfalls associated that cannot be overlooked. It is important to note that perspectives on this topic can vary widely depending on individual values, experiences, and circumstances.

Affluence provides a sense of financial security, allowing one to meet fundamental needs, unexpected expenses, and emergencies effortlessly. Also, it can open doors to disparate opportunities, such as quality education, travel and networking, thereby enhancing personal and professional growth. Moreover, this augments standard of living, provides access to better healthcare, guaranteeing comfortable living conditions. Apart from that, the future can also be secured as creating a financial buffer for a secure twilight years life can also be envisaged.

Having said that, prosperity has its own downsides such as the rich often lead an isolated life, as people are likely to treat them differently, or befriend them for ulterior motives. Those with prosperity by their side find it hard to discern who genuinely cares for them, as some may be motivated by their financial status rather than their true personality, and attempt driving personal benefits.

Additionally, the moneyed are usually found chasing a mirage due to compulsions to sustain their status. This pressure can lead to unwarranted stress and burnout. A focus on accumulating material possessions can engender a perennial sense of emptiness, or dissatisfaction. The fear of losing wealth, or facing financial downturns, causes anxiety and one is found constantly striving to protect and manage assets.

Overall, it is worth noting that those with a huge fortune experience the exploits of riches along with the thorny bushes. The key lies in striking a balance between financial success and overall well-being, and surmounting challenges posed by abundance of financial resources.
